The Aurora Boreallis

Nothing.

I couldn't see anything. It was too bright for me to see what was happening.

But I knew one thing, I was probably heading to the Frozen North.

The bright white light that blinded me, slowly started to vanish. As my vision adjusted, I was no longer in the iceway. My body slowly levitated to the frozen ground below me. I laid on my back looking up and the twilight night sky and the stars that were visible above. The I heard the sound of hooves crunching through the snow. I turned my head to the side to see the shadow of an oncoming pony. I focused hard as my vision came to, revealing the pony before me.

It was one of my relatives, Galaxy.

"Fancy seeing you here again Aurora, although I kind of had the idea you were gonna end up here when I saw you push two hundred over there in that arena."

I slowly sat up, "What do you expect? That race was a thrill to be honest. I loved it."

Galaxy smiled and shook his head,

"Dude, always going to the extreme. Your little friend Rainbow Dash probably gets injured less than you will in the future."

I looked around where we both were at. It's been a while since I've been here in the frozen North, yet nothing has changed. Same iced over mountains, same rate of snowfall, same air temperature, same beautiful scenery of the atmosphere above us.

I turned my head to look at my left wing.

There was still bone showing from the wound. I flinched.

Galaxy walked over to me, "Damn.....that looks even worse in person...."

I shot him a glare, "Can you just fix this please? Everypony is probably thinking I died."

Galaxy responded, "That would be hilarious if they're already preparing you grave"

"Galaxy!!!!"

"Ok ok. Now hold still...."

He began to float in the air as the snow lifted from the ground and began surrounding him. He closed his eyes as a wind blew from behind him. My body began to levitate on it's own as well. His eyes shot open, glowing white as the snow that surrounded him flew into the air. I relaxed and closed my eyes. The line of snow angled, and shot straight through my chest. I felt a cool and refreshing rush through my body as the snow enveloped me. I could feel the pain in my left wing go away, so did the other aches that I had in my body from that fence impact. I saw Galaxy put his arms down and slowly levitated to the ground. My body also did the same as the snow disappeared around me.

I slowly sat up and stretched my arms and wings. Wow. I felt better, like I've had 8 hours of sleep and took fifteen pain medications. I then stood on all fours and nodded to Galaxy.

"Thanks man, I feel a hell of a lot of better." , I said as I flapped both of my wings for conformation.

He nodded and smiled, "No problem man, I've always got your back. Just don't kill yourself out there, because I know it'll probably be your fault."

I shot him a stare as he chuckled to himself. I levitated myself on my own and began to apparate when Galaxy stopped me. He used his teeth to grab my tail,

"Wait man, I got to ask you something, well, more like a plead if you will."

Raising an eyebrow with curiosity, I dropped to my hooves on the ground and faced him, "And that is....?"

I saw a frown come across his face.

"I've been looking a for a place to settle since I came back from the star, Sirius, in the cosmos and I was wondering if I could come with you. With the adventure and friends I've seen you made within a span of only a few days, it looks like everypony's dream place to be. Better than those crowded streets of Manehattan, Baltimare, Vanhoover, and those other congested cities."

I smiled at him, "Someone needs a friend..."

He glared at me. I sheepishly responded.

"Because friendship is magic."

He facehoofed and and smirked, "You're an idiot Aurora. So.........can I.........?"

I put a hoof to my chin and thought, ".....He's one of those ponies with supernatural abilities, but it wouldn't matter if two supernatural ponies were to roam around Ponyville.....he'll be fine.....like he'll help out the community and what not, just like I do....yeah.....that'll work....." .

I turned to him and smiled.

"Looks like you're coming man. Let's go. But I must warn you...."

I put a hoof in front of Galaxy as he was about to join me.

"Ponyville is right under the capitol, Canterlot. That's where Daymare Sun lives..."

His eyes widened in fear, "....D-Daymare Sun......?"

I nodded my head,

"Nightmare Moon too. Although they're not in that state on a normal basis, it is crucial that we do our part and obey the princesses. Believe it or not, I caused so much ruckus back in the old Equestrian days, that even Daymare Sun fears me."

He looked at me with disbelief, "That's a lie."

I raised an eyebrow, "Really...? You would actually think I'm lying to you......?"

The stare I gave him clearly stated that I wasn't making this up. He looked at me with shock.

"But she's Daymare Sun!!!!"

I responded,

"I know man, I know...chill out. The point is, she's still the controller of the sun, and Princess Luna is the creator of the stars and nebulas that glow through the night. If we f**k up, we're good as dead. She'll probably control the atmosphere herself once I get obliterated by her."

He looked pretty intimidated, but I put a hoof on his shoulder to re-assure him.

"But we're more smarter than that. We may have these powers as a reputation, but we know are limits, especially me."

I though back to the time when I froze half of the entire Northern Hemisphere on accident. I shivered.

".........I'm surprised Celestia didn't destroy me for that. I almost killed half of Ponykind...." .

I shook my head, motioning towards the opening of the horizon to Galaxy, "You ready?"

He had a expression of confidence in his face, "Let's do this. Let's go....home" .

We both levitated in the air as white glowing light began to swirl around us. Bright flashes emitted from us and before we knew it, we apparated into thin air.

My vision went black for a few seconds, then we heard the sound of a large crowd.

We appeared back into the stadium, right where I had disappeared earlier. The white light around us disappeared as well. Our hooves landed on the frozen ice track of the Supericeway. I looked around as everpony gasped and stood up. The medics rushed back onto the ice and came up to us.

I saw Pinkamena plowing her way through the crowd of medics. She tackled me to the ice in a tight hug.

"Sweet Celestia!!! You're alive! You're Alive!!!!! Are you ok!?!!? Oh my goodness!!! Your wing!!!! Is it broken!?!?!"

I couldn't breathe.

"....let....go...please..."

She released me as I stood up on my hooves. I lost my balance on the ice and slipped. Pinkamena caught me in her arms.

"You're still on the ice silly." , she finally smiled.

I smiled to her, "My skates got left over in the Frozen North. heh heh."

She put a confused look on her face, "The frozen north.....?....how did you.....?" .

I shook my head as I let go of her and flapped my wings, suspending myself a few feet into the air.

"It's a long story."

The crowd seemed to have up roared in cheers as I floated in the air, signaling to them that I was fine. I then turned to Galaxy who was talking to a medic about the whole situation. I facehoofed.

"There's no way that the medic will understand how we got here. Too much history and detail to explain." , I said to myself as I grabbed Galaxy away from the medic.

As the maintenance crew closed the main ice track to remove the huge catch fence I tore off, me, Pinkamena, Galaxy, and a hoard of ponies made our way out of the raceway and into the main hallway. The ponies were very loud, gossiping and snapping pictures of us for the news probably. We made our way out into the parking lot to feel the warm, humid air quickly warming us up.

"And that's how I met Aurora. We both came here because I wanted to live here as well."

Pinkamena smiled as she began understand what had happened.

Galaxy wiped his head, "It is getting a little warmer here, especially during the night."

I looked at the sky. The haze made the lights from nearby cities block out the night sky. I couldn't see any stars.

"Yeah, the low pressure system I created a few days ago is on it's way here. Should bring in some rain to relive this region of some dry weather." .

The crowd of ponies continued to follow us, but keep a few feet back from us out of respect. We approached the end of the parking lot. I looked to both of them.

"I don't feel like flying. We'll teleport."

Pinkamena nodded her head, "okie dokie lokie."

Galaxy shot a weird look at her, "Yeah.....I'm ready too."

I summoned my power and we all apparated out of thin air to Ponyville, leaving the rest of the ponies to take in what had just happened within the last 2 hours.

We apparated loudly in the middle of town square in Ponyville. I kneeled down as we tried to keep quiet to respect the sleeping ponies around town. Apparating from one place to another does break the sound barrier because we move so fast through places, we easily pass through the sound barrier. I looked around.

Nopony's houses had lit up.

I sighed with relief and motioned towards Galaxy.

"Come on man, my home is the clouds. We'll make some clouds to sleep on."

Galaxy responded, "Will do."

As I was about to take off, Pinkamena grabbed my leg. I fell to the ground.

"Ooof! Yes Pinkamena?" , I glared at he while raising an eyebrow.

Her watery blue eyes pierced right through me. So.......f**king.....cute. I couldn't handle it.

She whined, "Why won't you come sleep with me tonight?"

My wings froze still as I plopped onto the ground. I couldn't close them.........great......

Galaxy rolled around while suspended in the air, laughing at me. Pinkamena walked closer to me as I stood on all fours, backing away slowly, trying to deny the fact she just asked me to sleep with her.

I blushed, "Hey hey whoa there.....a little too much to ask of The Aurora Boreallis you know. I'm still royaltly."

She gave the most creepiest smirk at me while walking closer.

"No Aurora. That's Princess Celestia........What you are to me...........is my master!!!!!"

Pinkamena lunged forward to me. I widened my eyes in panic.

Just then, a white dome appeared between me and Pinkamena as she impacted the force field, head first.

I looked at Galaxy, who was holding the field down.

"Get out of there! Now!"

I followed his order. I apparated out of the dome and appeared next to him to help him. We formed the force field around Pinkamena, trapping her in the dome.

I looked at her in shock, "What the hell is happening to her?!?!?"

I could see her head butting the dome, trying every attempt to get out.

Galaxy yelled to me,

"Don't know, but what I do know is that she wants to eat you heart out!!! Hit the sedative spell"

I responded, "Got it" .

I summoned my power and focused it to the white dome, that was quickly falling apart from Pinkamena's constant head butting. My eyes closed shut as I kept on focusing towards the object in the dome. After 30 long seconds of holding, the pounding within the dome finally stopped. Me and Galaxy released our energy and allowed the dome to fall apart, revealing Pinkamena.

She looked still, not moving. However, we could loud snoring coming from her.

"Yeah, she's done for the night. Probably from the stress of the day." , Galaxy said to me as he circled around her, checking to see if she's faking it.

I walked up to the sleeping pink pony and responded,

"I don't know. She never acted like this. Yeah, she's kind of a hyper energetic pony, but nothing like this...."

I levitated her body in the air, "Wait here. I'm putting her to bed."

Galaxy's eyes went wide as he warned me, "Be careful man. She's very strong. She almost broke my field dome. Nopony has ever tried to do that. Don't let her come to, or you're done for good."

I was intimidated by his warning, even though I was clearly aware of the position I was putting myself in.

"I'll be fine." , I re-assured him.

I apparated of sight and appeared in Pinkamena's room. I slowly levitated her body onto the bed, praying that I don't do something to wake her up. I released my energy.

"....Whew.....that was easier than I thought....." , I lied to myself.

As I slowly walked out of her room, I began to hear shifting behind me.

I stopped in my tracks. I knew if she was behind me, I was f**ked.

I took my chances and slowly turned my head around............

She was gone......

The bed where she was supposed to be sleeping........she was no longer sleeping in it..........

I gulped as I whispered to myself, "......f**k......" .

I slowly turned my head back around.

She was standing right there in front of me the whole time.

I screamed to the top of my lungs in fright. Then.....I apparated out of thin air.

I appeared back into town square and landed on my stomach right front of Galaxy.

"F**k!!! Galaxy!!!! She's Awake!!! She's awake!!!!" .

He put a hoof in my mouth to silence me from screaming even louder. He spoke to me.

"Dude I know. I sensed that the spell was wearing off so I apparated you back here as soon as I could."

I sighed, "Right in the nick of time........holy hell!!!! She could be out of her house!!!"

Both me and Galaxy understood each other and we both took off, flying higher and higher into the troposphere. We both slowed our speed and came to a stop. We were at least 12,000 feet up in the air.

Galaxy spoke to me,

"I think we'll be fine up here for now. We'll sleep it out here. There's no way she'll act like that in the mornig when everypony is out and about right?"

I gave him a concerned look,

"I hope so.....I hope she's alright too.....I don't know what's happening to her....."

We both compressed some water droplets out of the air and formed some light cumulus clouds. I laid my body on the cool, comfortable column of water as Galaxy made his cloud bed.

"So this is how you sleep?"

I responded, "Yeah man, with a couple ponies like us, the atmosphere is our home."

"Yeah, the cloud makes it cool to sleep on, being that it's mostly water.'

"And the fact we're in the troposphere." , I added.

"Yeah.....well, I'm out for the night.", he yawned as he laid down to sleep.

I rested my head on my cloud, "Yeah man, goodnight. It's been a hell of a long day. Can't get any worse right?"

Galaxy was already fast asleep.

I turned away from him and looked out into the sky. Besides of the fact that I re-spawned in front of almost everypony in the stadium, I was more concerned about Pinkie's sudden behavior.

I closed my eyes as I came to my final though, ".....I hope she'll be fine. I love her too much now for something to be affecting her.......maybe this weird thing will all die out by tomorrow..." .

I could've never been more wrong.
