The Aurora Boreallis
The Destruction of The Aurora Boreallis
Previous ChapterNext ChapterMy body slammed into the catch fence, scraping the steel fence clean of off its foundation. My body then fell back on the track. The skating ponies were passing under me the whole time when I ran into to me as soon as I came down from my mid air crash. I felt my body being impacted by the forces of the skaters that were too fast for me to comprehend. There was mist billowing up from where we crashed. I could hear the crowd panic. I got hit by oncoming traffic from more than 16 ponies, each of them sending me sliding across the track. As I slid on the lower part of the track from the impacts, I turned around just in time to see the wreckage I had caused.
There was mist everywhere. Ponies that were sliding on their backs from crashing seemed to have shot out of the mist like flying bullets. Everyone of them kept crashing into each. There would be skater who got hit and slid off the track and slow down before getting hit again by another oncoming skater. Out of the mist, I saw a huge piece of the catch fence I ripped off, slid off into the middle of the track, catching some skaters off guard. They literally went airborne after clipping the fence from contact with the blades on their skates and landed on the backs. Some even landed right on their faces. They were going too fast to have slowed down.
My body kept on sliding forward on the ice track as I slowly slid up the 34 degree banking of the turn, then I slowly came to a stop. My body ached everywhere. I couldn't move a muscle. I felt like I had sprained every bone in my body. I couldn't move my hooves, wings, or my forelegs, for they would ache if I tried to put effort into moving them. I slowly turned my head to look behind me again.
As the mist settled, I saw a sight similar to the 1984 crash at The Appleloosa Ice Speedway. There were ponies scattered all across the tri-oval. The other remaining skaters slowed down and helped the others up. I heard screams of panic coming from the crowd, but they weren't pointing at the ponies, they were all pointing at me. I looked around to see what the big deal was. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Pinkamena, furiously skating in the opposite direction of the track to get to me. She had an expression of straight fear on her face. When she came up to me, she took off her skates on her front forelegs and hugged me, holding me in her lap, crying.
I looked up to her, "What's wrong.......why are you staring at me like that....? You're starting t-..."
I felt something in my throat. I turned my head to the side and coughed, splattering blood all over the ice. The crowd panicked. I began to feel very weak. My head ached and felt woozy. With blood dripping from the side of my mouth, I looked back at Pinkamena. Her eyes began to water. She looked......gray.....like her coat just went semi-grayscale. I turned my head to look back at the destruction I caused.
I saw a large, smeared trail of blood, starting from the ripped catch fence on the ice track, and lead all the way to.........me.
My eyes began to widen in fear. The smeared trail of blood ended right under my back from where I was laying. I slowly turned over to see what happened.
My right wing was ripped open to the bone.
I gasped and flinched. Pinkamena stared crying harder, still holding me in her arms as medic finally arrived to us. My vision began to blur. All I could hear was the panic of the crowds and the yelling of the medics. I couldn't see anything, but I felt like my body dropped to the hard ice. My vision then re-adjusted to normal.
I saw every medic, including Pinkamena, back away from me at least by 7 feet. I saw white mist surround me and grew more dense by the second. I knew what was happening to me. It hasn't happened since my accident in the Frozen North of 1456, but I knew what was going on. The last thing I saw was everypony who was around me, stare in shock and awe as I slowly rose off of the ice. My body hung limp in the air as I couldn't move my muscles. They ached everywhere.
I whispered to myself, "......yeah.......definitely going to make the world news for this......I'm an idiot........" .
Within a matter of seconds, my body disappeared into thin air along with the mist, leaving everpony completely speechless and shocked.
