The Destruction of The Aurora Boreallis II

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

I was done.

I had just created a death sentence to everpony on the entire Eastern coastline of Equestria.

......

I just stood there, and stared at the TV. Once again, I had done it. This time, everpony was aware of the pending disaster. I watched as the TV Pegasai Media caught a bird's eye view of the massive tidal wave, spilling onto Liberty Island. Huge crashes of waves erupted on either side of the Statue of Liberty as the wave covered the idol up to the mid section of its figure.

I had to stop it. Immediately.

I summoned my energy and took one last look at the now frightened mane 6. Twilight Sparkle was huddled in the middle with her friends all around her, shaking while staring at me in horror.

A tear ran down my cheek as I began to slowly apparate. I could see my body dissolving into millions of pieces in the air. Twilight caught my eye and suddenly stopped shivering. She locked onto my eyes, reading my expression. She managed to whisper out one word.

"......Aurora..........?"

That was the last word I heard from her before the bow shock took effect. I apparated into thin air in a loud boom.

I wasted no time getting to Maenhattan. Traveling through unconstructed time space while in apparate depends on where your mind takes you, and obviously, my mind was on the one city that was first to be in the line of fire.

I appeared right in front of Battery Park and landed with a thud. I quickly stood up on all fours and flapped my wings to suspend myself in the air. The atmosphere was living it. Everything was blurred. There was so much rain in the air. Everything had a shade of gray and blue. Lightning was flashing everywhere, at least 205 flashes per minute. I put a hoof over my eyes and squinted.

There it was.

I could see the massive, roaring swell of water off into the distance. It almost looked exactly like a cosine curve, starting at 3, and dropping down to a negative -3, except, this was 90x higher than 3 feet, and where I was positioned at, was at the negative -3 part. The bottom of the wave.

"......No way in tartarus am I going to let you kill anyone......."

But that was already done ahead of time.

The geographic landscape of the greater Manehattan is a rather complicated one. At the front of the coastline is Long Mane Island, which spans over 300 miles of coastline. That land mass is right next to Staten Island. The two are connected by a bridge called the Nightmare Narrows Bridge. If the tidal wave had already passed Liberty Island,

Then that means............Staten Island, Nightmare Narrows Bridge, and probably a whole quarter of Long Mare Island was already submerged under 90 feet of water.

".......No........" , I managed to whisper out in the melancholy of the disaster before me.

I had already just killed thousands of ponies in that wave alone over there.

My heart sank.

I didn't care anymore.

It was too late for me to do something about it. I had caused this destruction on my own without considering the consequences it would have on not only on the ponies, but me as well.

I gave up.

I could see the tidal wave slowly approaching the financial district of Manehattan, at the Battery Park where I was positioned.

I took a deep breath. Closing my eyes, I whispered.

"......Dear Daymare Sun,...........I am so........so........sorry......" .

I then flapped my wings and flew vertically into the stormy air.

I flew up and sat on the edge of one of the buildings of Lower Manehattan, and watched.

The roar of the wave became louder and louder as it approached the southern edge of Manehattan.

Then........it finally happened.

I felt the building I was sitting atop on, take a huge impact as the wave smashed in the lower parts of the city.

I looked down over the building.

I could see hundreds of ponies running over each other, trying to run away from the tidal wave that was pouring into every street. They were all caught in it and disappeared under the sweeping waves. The buildings down here in Lower Manehattan made the streets so narrow, it actually squeezed the tidal wave as it snaked its way into the streets, increasing its actual height into huge, walls of water.

I could hear the multitudes of ponies screaming as the wave crossed over, connected, and swept over every street in Lower Manehattan.

I looked to my left.

The wave had already swept over the entire Hooflyn area. I could see the Hooflyn skyline as the only sign of where it was located. The wave slowly made its way over to the Hooflyn and Manehattan Bridge. The swell of water smashed right into the two massive columns that held the bridge up, but nothing happened. The ponies who were on that bridge were trapped, but unharmed. I closed my eyes and sighed in relief.

But that was short lived as I heard the faint sound of cables snapping.

My eyes shot wide opened as I peered at the bridge. The cables were plucking off of the bridge one by one. Slowly but definitely, the entire bridge soon sank into the water.

I could hear the echos of screaming ponies as the entire bridge disappeared.

I quickly turned my head to the Manehattan bridge.

It wasn't there anymore.

I gasped and closed my eyes, turning my head away from the awful sight I had just witnessed. I plopped down on the roof of the building I was positioned on.

I put my hooves over my ears and began to cry loudly into the sky.

"STOP!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!! STOP!!!!!!!!"

All I could feel were the driving winds and buckets of rain that pelted my face. I felt a flash of lightning behind me. I jumped and turned around.

There it was.

The entire city of Manehattan. Gone.

All I could see were the taller buildings of upper Manehattan.

But below.......I didn't see any streets........they were all gone.

I sat on my haunches, mouth wide open from the destruction I had caused.

I turned to my left to see Jersey City.

Only the taller buildings were left standing. Everything else was under water.

I turned to my right to see Long Mane Island.

There was nothing. It was all ocean.

I felt something pop off in my mind.

It was my sanity.

I lifted my head and screamed to the thunderous sky above me.

"AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" , I bellowed in sorrow and defeat.

I dropped my head as I began crying. The rain and wind was pelting against my coat like I was in a sandstorm. I could hear nothing but the wind, thunder, and the noise of the water below me.

It was over.

I just killed at least a million ponies, in fifteen minutes.

I opened my eyes and stared into the small reflection of water that the rain has created.

I was a monster. Who was I to believe that I could change my destiny? I was born to kill, no matter what way it was. That was my destiny. It has always been this way for eons.

I saw something seep from both of my eyes, but it wasn't tears.

In fact, my eyes weren't even the same anymore.

I saw something that looked like purple smoke, flow from both of my eyes.

Worse of all, my eyes looked like they changed.

It wasn't my usual look of green snake eyes when I was summoning something. No.

My eyes were glowing green, and my pupils were blood red.

My eyes widened in fear, only giving me a better look at them.

I stumbled and reeled back in shock, "AAAHHH!!!!" .

I landed on my back and faced the thunderous sky.

I shook my head a couple times, thinking it was a hallucination.

But even that was nothing compared to what I just did.

I had just killed millions of innocent ponies. Ponies who weren't meant to die in the first place. The deep impact I created in the Atlantic had created a crater in the ocean, which later rose to the surface and expanded outwards in the form of a tidal wave across the entire Western half of the Atlantic Ocean. If the wave had already struck Manehattan, then that had to be the closest city to get hit first. Then that means, the wave had already hit..........

My heart stopped.

Fillydelphia.......Baltimare.....the coast of North & South Marelina........every eastern coastal city............gone.

I clenched my teeth in anger.

Then I couldn't handle it anymore.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"

The force of my scream was so loud, the area of clouds above me blew a hole in.

Then, as a chain reaction, the hole expanded, dissolving the storm clouds around the entire city.

I could no longer feel the pelting of rain as I began to see the clear night sky, along with Luna's moon.

In a matter of seconds, the clouds were gone.

Silence.

I heard nothing, except for the crashing waves of water below me.

I sat up on my haunches. The roof of the building I was one of the high skyscrapers of Lower Manehattan. In fact, it looked like almost every skyscraper survived in this city. However, I knew that at least 60% of this city was not all skyscrapers. I closed my eyes as I could imagine the ponies that lost their lives in the lower level parts of the city.

I wanted to turn time back. I wanted to redo everything, to stop me from impacting the water.

But it was too late. What was done, was done......and judgement for me was coming.

I could hear the sounds of flapping as I turned to my South. I saw hundreds of Royal guard from the horizon, along with a taller individual in the middle.

I was frightened to my very core.

It was Daymare Sun.

I thought of a million ways to escape my judgement. I could easily kill her and all of her royal guards with an EMP blast, or I could rip each and every one of them apart with my tentacles, or I could just simply strike all of them at once with lightning. But what would that make of me? I had already killed ponies before.

However, if I killed Daymare Sun, it would mean war on the atmosphere.

Frozen in shock and fear, I just sat there with my head down, and waited for her arrival.

The sound of flapping became louder and louder. And then I heard a familiar voice.

"Aurora!!!"

I looked up and squinted into the distance. I saw a dark blue pony with a blue and orange mane & tail.

It was Galaxy.

He slowed down as he approached the building I was on, but wasted no time and tackled me into an embrace.

"Oh my god man!!! Are you ok?!?! We were so worried!!!! Dude I'm so happy you're alive!!!!"

Alive......?

Alive....? He's happy that I'm alive.....?

I pushed him off of me and stood on all fours.

"Alive?!?! Look at what happened?!?!?!" , I screamed as I pointed a hoof over to his left.

He didn't even look.

"Yeah I know. We saw the whole thing on TV just now. Me and Daymare went to Twilight's house to see if she knew where you were and she told me that you went to Manehattan. So out of panic, me and Daymare grabbed as many guards as we could and went out to find you."

My eyes widened in shock. They don't know who caused this mess and they're worried about me?

The royal guards surrounded us around the tower, but kept their distance away from us.

Galaxy gave me the weirdest stare.

"Aurora, are you....ok? Your eyes........they're.......different. Almost like......................oh my......."

The gears began to click in my head at his last reaction.

Galaxy had lived in the Frozen North for thousands of years. The only establishment that was so close to the Frozen North was The Crystal Empire. He's seen through every part of history that had happened there. Even when King Sombra was in rule.

King Sombra.

King Sombra.........

oh no.

Galaxy reeled back away from me.

"Aurora!!! Don't worry!!! We'll get you out!!!!"

I jumped back and gave him a frightened look, for the reflection I saw of my eyes earlier, was not a hallucination.

I tried to calm him down and reason with him, "Galaxy, what are you talking about? It's me."

Galaxy yelled to the top of his lungs, "DAYMARE!!!!!!" AURORA HAS BEEN POSSESSED!!!!!"

I stood there in shock. If Daymare were to come here........I was done for.

The royal guards closed in on us, pointing their spears all around me. I walked towards Galaxy to try to calm him down, but he jumped back and flapped his wings in the air.

"Stand back Sombra!!!! I know you're in his body!!!!! Don't come any closer!!!"

He growled as he held his arms up. Glowing blue orbs began to appear on his hooves. I stopped and reeled back a little from his warning. I know he wasn't betraying me. He was my cousin, he was family. He was only fearing for my safety. He was just confused. Just as confused as I was, because I began to wonder if King Sombra had actually possessed my body.

"What is going on here-........oh my....."

There she was.

Daymare Sun.

She appeared from the edge of the building we were on and landed next to Galaxy. Several other guards followed her. She jumped back a little when she made eye contact with me.

"Aurora..........is that you......" , she asked in complete shock while staring into my eyes.

With tears starting to stream down my face, I whispered, "..........I'm so sorry..........."

Tears began to form in her eyes as well as she choked up.

"You should be." .

My ears shot straight up.

"At 1:57pm this afternoon, The ESS (Equestrian Space Station), caught live video of you flying down into the atmosphere so fast, you impacted the Atlantic ocean 400 miles off of the east coast of Equestria, creating a large wave that impacted every coastal city in the eastern Equestria coastline, killing millions upon millions of innocent lives. I though Twilight Sparkle had defeated you for good, but you just never learn, do you?.........King Sombra."

I had a feeling that Daymare Sun thought I was King Sombra way before I even came to Ponyville.

"You are surrounded. You have no escape now. I don't know what kind of plan you thought you had by making us think that you were Aurora this whole time, but we know that the real Aurora is in there. You're just possessing him to make him commit these horrible acts of murder. Now come with us, and I promise, your execution trial will be short and quick."

Unbelievable.

They think I'm actually possessed by King Sombra.

There was no use trying to prove to them that it was me, for if they knew that I caused this, I would be banished to the sun by Daymare herself.

So I did something I would forever regret.

I played along.

"So I guess it's all over.....?" , I chuckled sinisterly, changing my voice as deep as King Sombra's.

"Your under arrest King Sombra, for commiting mass murder across Equestria." , Daymare Sun addressed.

The Royal guards had their spears pointed at me, ready to strike at a moments notice.

I felt chills down my spine in fear, but continued my act.

"I believe that won't be possible. You see.......I'm still in Aurora's body. Catching me will be impossible."

I then turned to Galaxy, who was staring at me with confusion and fright.

I changed my voice back to normal and spoke to him.

".......Goodbye.....brother....." .

Galaxy's eyes widened.

I then changed my voice back to Sombra's and turned to Daymare........and started laughing maniacally.

"Farewell, Princess!!!!" , I bellowed with a sinister smile.

She stared at me in horror.

I then opened my arms and started to laugh maniacally again. My body began to float off of the ground.

And within seconds, I apparated into thin air.
