The Aurora Boreallis

I couldn't see.....

I couldn't move....

But I finally heard silence.

My body ached everywhere. This wasn't the first time that my body has ached due to overuse of power, but this one......this one was very different.

I slowly opened my eyes. It was the middle of night. I could tell because of the position of the moon. Which brings the question of why am I outside in the first place.

Oh right..........the explosion of dark energy.

I slowly sat on my hanuches and looked around.

I was the center of what seemed to be a wide, but not deep, in-ground crater. I think I was about 4 feet below surface. But the crater around me stretched for miles and miles. I still saw the mountains on the far side of the horizon, but where I was, where there used to be trees, small lakes, and a RV camper, was wiped off of existence. I lowered my head in sorrow.

"....If I can't control the darkness within me.....then there is no reason for me to have anypony as my marefriend, student......or.......a friend in general...." , I though to myself.

It was true. The destruction I had just caused, while rather unexpected, was one of the many phenomenal events that was making me seen as a feared individual to everypony........but why........?

Why must I be this way.....? Why am I the one to lose control of everything? Have I no self-control over the many unknown powers I posses?!?!? I didn't ask to be this way!!!!

I found myself yelling out my thoughts into the night sky. Tears began to roll down my cheek once again. I still felt that tingle of dark energy on my face.

It had to be my eyes.

I took my hoof and whipped it forward beside my left eye. I did this to see whether the wind from my hoof would carry any other substance with it.

Purple mist quickly followed behind my hoof, and disappeared. Yeah, I still had those eyes.

"I guess it's permanent. Nopony will ever see me again. Not Galaxy, not Daymare, not the mane 6. Nopony. Heh, who am I kidding.....? They weren't even my friends to begin with." .

A tear fell to the bare dirt on the ground. I hung my head in defeat, my hair draped across my face.

"....I have no friends......" .

I heard a faint pair of hooves clank on the ground ahead of me. It had to be the Royal Guard. They finally found me huh...? Well, with that explosion earlier, who wouldn't hear that.

Maybe I should wait until he comes closer so I can kill him. It's been a while since I'd had fresh meat.

The clank of armor began to sound louder and louder. But I didn't hear my name being called out. I didn't care. He was taking too long to get to me.

"......Maybe I should attack him halfway...." , I thought to myself.

But before I could think of anything else, I heard the pair of hooves stop in their tracks.

I opened my eyes. But I was still staring at the ground. I was ready to strike.

I was waiting, but the again, why wait? The guard could have a spear with him. Not today.

In an instant, I lunged forward and pounced on said guard, and knocked the pony down on its back. I stood over my prey. Boy was I hungry. I was literally licking my lips for the taste of fresh meat.

"If it is your true wish, you may eat me..." , the pony said in a soft tone.

I blinked my eyes. The sound of that voice.....no........there's no way.....

I lowered my head and faced my victim. I was met with a pair of glowing green eyes.

"AAAHHHH!!!!!" , I screamed, literally jumping back 5 feet away from the pony.

I landed on my back, skidding a couple more feet. I groaned in pain. That was unecessary of me. But those eyes did scare me for a second when I'm not the only one with them. In fact, what scared me more was the fact that somepony else had those eyes.

I heard the clanking of hooves again.

I was just about to get up on all fours again, until a black shadow appeared in front of me. It was that shadow again. This time, wasted no time just staring at me. It quickly took physical form. I was still on my back, witnessing the conjuring before me.

The black shadow took the form of a pony, just a regular size pony. So it definitely wasn't King Sombra......but someone else. The pony was purple all over. It had a horn just like Sombra's, eyes just like King Sombra, it's mane and tail was blue with a magenta highlight running through it. It had fangs like me, dressed up in clad armor as if it was ready for battle, it had a large red cape draped over its backside, and the last thing that confirmed who I exactly though it was.......was the cutie mark on its flank.

It was a purple star....with five white stars surrounding it.

".....T-Twilight......?", I timidly asked the mare.

"I'm sorry dear, but my name is Midnight Sky." , she responded.

My eyes widened, my mouth hung open in shock.

She continued, "I-I'm sorry if I frightened you earlier....." .

I couldn't formulate the words to speak. I was too shocked. No, I was.......twins. Twilight Sparkle really did had a twin sister. She had a twin sister!!! But why does she look like this? Like Sombra? I was so confused.

Midnight began to give a worried look to me with those green eyes, that seemed to be the only light in the darkness of the night.

"....Are you....ok sir....?" , she asked.

She was standing over me.

I quickly apparated into thin air and appeared back into view facing in front of her.

She stepped back in surprise, "Well then, I am to be very sure not to under estimate you, Aurora Boreallis. Allow me to formally introduce myself to your presence. I am Midnight Sky, Queen Of Darkness and Queen of The Shadows. It is an honor to meet you, Aurora Boreallis." .

She bowed before me.

I completely ignored the formality, "Th-this can't be......you look just like Twilight Sparkle...." .

She rose back up, "That is my twin sister. I'm you have met her." .

I fired back, "But you! Your eyes! What happened to you?!?!?" .

She answered back, "I've always been this way." .

I was starting to get annoyed, "NO!!! You're missing the point!!! What I'm trying to say is, you're a lot different from Twilight. You......you....." .

"I'm just like you......" , she finished.

Here we go again with this bullsh*t. I'm not letting my guard down this time.

I've never been so wrong in my life.

Midnight spoke to me in a commanding tone that sent a chill down my spine, "And what do you have left Aurora? Nothing!!!" .

I cocked my head up to her and growled, "Watch your tone when speaking to me, pony." .

She snarled back, showing her teeth, "Watch your tone when you're addressing to your queen, hybrid." .

I lost my self-control.

I roared loudly and charged, pouncing on her. She fell on her back. I sprouted my tentacles and angled them towards her, until she yelled.

"Do it Aurora!!!! Another pony dead on your list!!! Won't matter much to you now!!! Will it!??!?!!" .

I stopped my tentacles as they were inches from her face. I was breathing really hard, glaring at her with fuming anger. I was ready to tear her limb from limb. But what she just said, stopped my movement all together.

"You need to know self-control, Aurora. It's your only hope of morality left..." , she spoke more calmly.

My breathing slowed down. I retracted my tentacles and stepped away from her. She then stood up and dusted herself off.

"If you want to be accepted, you must learn to not let your emotions control you." , she said.

I responded, "It's not my emotions that possess me.....its this dark energy....I....I don't know how to stop it." .

She held out her hoof, "As my mentor had told me before, Give unto others who seek peace, no matter what type it is." .

Her mentor.....?

Sombra.........why not? I have nowhere else to turn.

She formed a smile as I took her hoof. That smile she had. It....it almost look like the smile Twilight had, except her eyes were narrowed and serious. Plus, those glowing green eyes. I was starting to get scared. If that's how I look like with those eyes, I don't want to show my face in public ever again.

She put both hooves on mine. That surprised me.

"Don't worry......it's gonna be ok....." .

I looked up to her. She didn't seem to have the bubbly expression that Twilight would have. She just looked calm and mellow, yet, she smiled at me.

"I swear if this is some sort of-" .

"Don't you dare underestimate me either Aurora. I am not the type of mare to be messed with." , she said firmly.

I stepped back in shock. She sounded scary......even for me.

She realized what she just said and put a hoof to her mouth, "Oh my. I'm-I'm so sorry!!! I didn't mean to say it like that!!" .

She trailed her armored hooves on her the ground and looked down.

As scary as she looked, that was kinda cute.

"Um.....it's ok....?" , I responded with unsureness.

Midnight looked back up to me with a warmer smile than before, "Um...right. Come with me Aurora. I'll show you to my castle. The guards would be delighted to see you." .

This b*tch has a castle.

And guards.

.....

I took her hoof again, and within seconds, a black shadow enveloped us.

We both disappeared into thin air.

What was I getting myself into now.....? I don't even know anymore.
