The Midnight Star

Chapter 6

The kiss had lasted for about two minutes until Scootaloo pulled away "Sweetie Belle, I-I yo-yo-you she stuttered.

"I meant to tell you Scoots" Sweetie Belle announced, as her cheeks went a deep shade of red. me and Applebloom just stared in shock at the scene that had just unravelled its self in front of us both.

The young white unicorn climbed off of Scootaloo and galloped away, "Sweetie wait up!!" I shouted to her "I'll go see to her" I said concerned for the young filly.

"I had no idea she felt like that about me, I knew there was something there but I didn't think she felt like that at all" Scootaloo explained. "please Midnight, see if she is ok"

At that I galloped after her, I was much faster than her so I managed to catch up with her just outside Carousel Boutique, she was sat to the left of the building, in what seemed to be a homemade fort from sticks and sheets of fabrics. "Sweetie Belle?" I asked , cautiously stepping closer to the fort. As I got closer I heard quiet sobs coming from inside. "Sweetie Belle, are you okay?" I said again, ducking so I could get inside.

"Midnight, I didn't hear you come in" she said sniffling and wiping her eyes

"Sweetie, are you okay?" I said with concern showing in my voice. "why did you run off?"

"well wouldn't you if you just did something like that?" she said.

"I did something a lot like that you know, except mine wasn't quite like that, I accidently told my best friend I loved her, it was true though and she made my dream come true, I didn't run away. You can't run away from all your problems" I said smiling.

"I meant to tell her, I really did" She said bursting in to tears and wrapping her hooves around me.

"shh.....it'll be ok Sweetie Belle, I promise" I said reassuring the young white unicorn.

"SWEETIE BELLE!!" we both shot up at Scootaloos voice coming from outside.

"I bet she's just going to shout at me, but I guess I deserve it, what I did was unforgivable"

"come on lets see what she wants" I said standing up and offering a hoof for Sweetie belle.

"SWEETIE BELLE!!" Scootaloo shouted as we emerged from the fort, throwing her self at Sweetie Belle. "I love you Sweetie Belle, if you had just told me first then I would have done that first!" she said locking lips for a second time.

"I don't mean to ruin the moment but I think you have something to tell to me don't you Sweetie Belle" said a beautiful white unicorn with an amazing purple mane and three gems stood on her flank as her cutie mark.

"Rarity!" she shot off Scootaloo faster than lightening "I-I...erm....this is not what it looks like"

"well it looks like you were just kissing Scootaloo, of course if I am mistaken then, I apologise" Rarity said mockingly.

"errm...how do I put this.....I like fillies" sighed Sweetie Belle, her cheeks went a bright shade of red, obviously embarrassed.

"I'm so proud of you" Rarity gave Sweetie Belle a big hug and went back inside.

"well that went better than expected" Sweetie Belle said in her usual squeaky voice, we all shared a laugh before I had to part ways with the other three to go home .

My brother was busy unpacking to hear me walk through the door, "ooh! Heroic, Vengeful says she is visiting tomorrow and would like to know if she can stay the week end? can she, please?" I asked already guessing he would say yes, he loved having Vengeful Dagger round, though he may not admit it.

"sure... Do you have any homework?"  My brother smiled and gave me a hug.

"umm...let me check" I said grabbing my saddle bags with my levitation spell. "errm.. no not today"

"how was your first day? Did you see that Diamond Tiara girl?" he asked slightly concerned that I may have got into another fight.

"I saw her but I stayed away and my first day was great we learnt about the great war and history and about star constellations and stuff, I loved it, much more interesting than my other school at canterlot!" I smiled and hopped around as I spoke.

"well I'm glad you enjoyed it" he said returning to his unpacking.

I made my way upstairs and went in my room, searching through my desk for a pen and some paper to write to Vengeful on how well the day went. Looks like I'm out of paper hmmm... "HERIOC! DO WE HAVE ANY PAPER LEFT?" I shouted down the stairs.

"no, sorry, you will have to go to the store to buy some" he replied.

I made my way down the stairs to see my brother bringing 3 bits over towards me "I can pay for it, I have enough" I said shaking my saddlebags. "plus I'm going to get a drink"

"alright, don't be long, tea will be in an hour" he said making his way over to his book and continuing with his reading.

"I'll be about 20 minutes, bye, love you"

"love you too bro, you know that"

I walked into the local shop to be greeted by a queue that looked a mile long, when in all reality it was only to the first isle, I made my way towards the drinks first. "well well well look who's here" the voice was like nails on a black board to my ears. Beside her was a filly around the age as Tiara with a two tone grey mane and a grey coat, she was wearing a gleaming pearl necklace.

"Diamond Tiara, looks like you still think you're above everypony else" I replied with disgust in my voice.

"it's cause I am above everypony else, don't you see, everypony fears me because I rule the school, and the sooner you see that the better, anyway we aren't here to argue, we are here with a most gracious offer"

This took me by surprise "what makes you think I would want to accept any offer of yours?" I snarled taking a daring step forward.

"well, I would like to think you would, now, here's my offer, hows about you ditch those what do they call themselves the Cutiemark Crybabies and join me?" She smiled slyly.

"why would I do that? can I get back to shopping now please?" Why would she want me to do that?

"just a thought for you to consider, and yes carry on" turning to her silent friend "come on spoon, lets go" she nodded and walked away.

she's up to something. I continued to purchase the paper and apple juice and walked silently home keeping an eye and ear out for Diamond Tiara.

The entire walk home was uneventful (thankfully) I didn't run in to Diamond Tiara again. "brother I'm home!" I shouted out, the smell of hay fries filled the air.

"in here, Midnight" he replied not long later from the back room "hey could you give me a hand?" he asked.

"yeah, sure" I walked in to see he was trying to lift some boxes up to the shelves and since my telekinetic abilities were stronger than his as I practiced all the time when I was in canterlot, I lifted the boxes with ease.

"thanks Midnight, I'll call you down when tea is done.
