Chapter 5

I was awoken late in the morning to find that my brother had left for his new job working for Sugarcube Corner. I slowly climbed out off bed and checked the time. BUCK! I'm going to be late if I don't get going now I noticed a letter on the kitchen table that had my name on it.

Dear Midnight

HOW COULD YOU DO SUCH A STUPID THING? YOU STUPID COLT? Are you okay, sweetie? How deep did you do it? Do you think it will be a permanent scar? I'm going to come down tomorrow to see you, also could I stop at the weekend?

I didn't have time to reply, I galloped out of the front door towards the schoolhouse to ensure I wouldn't be late. As I was rushing down the street I knocked Applebloom over, who was just going into Sugarcube corner.

"I'm so sorry Applebloom, here let me help you up" I offered my hoof out for help, which she gladly took "shouldn't you be in school?"

"not fer another hour it don't start 'till later" she laughed, amused by my confusion with my previous school.

"oh...yeah sorry I forgot that" I shied away at my idiocy. "do you want to hang out till then?"

"sure" she gave me a massive grin.

"what's with the smile?"

"oh nothin' just happy is all" she said with the massive grin still on her face as she lead me in Sugarcube Corner.

Why is she acting so strangely? I followed her in and sat down at the table she was sat at.

"do you me to get you anything while I'm there?" I asked being polite, she shook her head. "you sure it's on me?"

"no thanks sugarcube" she smiled.

As I walked up to the counter I noticed the pink pony I saw yesterday that liked to bounce everywhere "what can I get you?" she a had a grin that would split a regular ponies face in two.

"I'll have two chocolate cupcakes please" I smiled and levitated the bits to her. "ooh before I forget, what's your name?"

"I'm Pinkie Pie, here's your cupcakes" she still had that giant smile.

"thank you Pinkie Pie"

I made my way back, levitating the cupcakes and place one in front of Applebloom "here have this, don't worry about paying me back, it's on me"

"thanks, ya' didn't have to though" she smiled and took a bite "mmm.....this is good, Pinkie sure out did herself this time"

"these are good, better than the ones I have at Cantercafe back at Canterlot" I said with a slight smile. Vengeful Dagger would probably crucify me for saying that, she always thought that theirs was best. "would you like a drink?"

"no thanks, so how was ya' first day here?"

"it was alright, I met that Diamond Tiara for a second time though, she told my brother and I got grounded for a week" I said, greedily gobbling the rest of the cupcake in one bite. "I can still come by the farm later though"

"really? that bitch told on ya'?" she said, anger clear in her voice.

"yeah she did, but me and my brother sorted it out, he only grounded me because I hurt her not because he didn't believe me" I smiled "anyway, what are you doing tomorrow?"

"nuthin' why?"

"because my fillyfriend is coming down to visit and I was only thinking maybe you and the girls would like to meet her, so would you?" I smiled at her "you don't have to, I'd just like her know my best friends"

"I sure would, but a' don't know 'bout Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle" she smiled "but are ya' sure she'll like us being your friend, with us being fillies our self" she looked at me with wide worried eyes.

"If she was like that then I guess I wouldn't be able to have any friends with me being bi and all" I said casually as if she already knew.

"you're what?" she said confused as though she didn't know what the word meant.

"I'm bisexual, I like both fillies and colts, did you not know what it meant"

"no I didn't, I knew there was such a thing as fillyfoolers, but not bisexuals" said checking the clock "woah, how time flies we should head to school"

"good morning children, we have a new student, Midnight would like to come up?" Miss Cheerilee said with a smile as she pointed her hoof at me.

As I walked up I noticed Diamond Tiara giving me a hate filled stare, the kind that, if it was a pony, it would rip your soul out. "I'm Midnight Star, I'm from Canterlot" I said warily, Miss Cheerilee signalled me to go on. "I'm the godchild of Princess Luna and both my parents died during the changeling invasion"

"right, take a seat so we can get started with the days work" Miss Cheerilee said smiling with a loving smile.

For the rest of the day we got taught about the great war, it had all races participating, horses, griffins, ponies, dragons and even draconequus fought, leaving only one behind, Discord the element of disharmony, the war was won by no one, yet all races claim they won the war bringing about their own version of how it ended.

The school day had ended, and the sun was still shining bright in the sky, I had followed Applebloom to the farm and though the orchard of apple trees.

"Applebloom, where are we actually going?" I asked with a look of suspicion.

"oh, it's not far" she said pointing out a tree house that I had not previously notice.

we walked the rest of the short distance in silence, when we got inside Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle were all ready there, Applebloom walked up to the other to and they started whispering.

"right, girls, we are here today to enlist our newest recruit to the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Midnight Star, step forward if you would" Sweetie Belle said motioning me to step forward.

"Midnight, do you swear that no matter what you won't abandon us or the clubhouse?" Scootaloo said, I nodded in agreement, allowing her to continue "from now on you are officially sworn in to the Cutie Mark Crusaders and as our brother in a cape"

"congratulations, Midnight, but remember, once a crusader always a crusader" Applebloom chipped in, Sweetie Belle presented to me my new cape, I swung it round and tied it round my neck, careful not to make it to tight.

"thank you guys, I love each of you" I said as we all had a group hug. "I have a question for you all though, you see my fillyfriend is coming to town tomorrow and I was just wondering if you would like to meet her? I won't be at school, to spend time with her, but after school you could meet us at Sugarcube Corner"

"yeah, sure I'll come by" Scootaloo said with a confident smile.

"count me in too then, I'd love to meet her" Sweetie Belle Squeaked.

"ya' already know ma' answer sugar" Applebloom smiled.

"great, so what do we do now?"

"we get to crusadin' of course" Applebloom said as if I should have known.

We were trying our hooves at trampoline jumping and doing things like front flips, this of course could only end in failure, but it was always fun to try.

"you sure this is safe" I said staring down onto the trampoline from the highest tree in Ponyville.

"yeah we'll be fine" Scootaloo said with a confident smile "three...two...one JUMP"

Scootaloo was first she faceplanted the floor with a thud, Sweetie Belle squealed and ran climbed down to comfort her. "Scootaloo, sweetie, are you okay?" she nuzzled her

I climbed down to help her up, but Sweetie Belle had already helped her up. "you silly filly why didn't you spread your wings and at least slow you self down" she scolded before they locked lips and engaged in a deep kiss.
