A new Beginning

Chapter one: An unexpected ‘turn’ of events

Joshua was walking down the street towards his favorite restaurant; he could hear the engines of the cars as he walked by them.

“Ah… The city life”

He continued walking towards the restaurant carrying the groceries he had bought earlier; he opened the door and went inside. He walked up to the counter and ordered his favorite meal, which consisted of a big juicy hamburger with 2 patties of meat, cheese, onions, tomatoes and lettuce.

The server brought him his food and he quickly devoured it.

“Oh yes that tasted delicious” he pays for his food and walks back home where Levi was waiting watching his favorite cartoon “My little Pony”.

Levi was sitting on the couch watching “My little Pony” season 2 episode 14 “The last Roundup” he was laughing like a moron at Derpy when she was being… well… Derpy.

Joshua walked into the kitchen and put away some food that he had bought. He walked into the living room and sat on the sofa to watch My little Pony with his brother, Levi.

“Don’t you think this show is a little girly?”

“No”

“Really? I mean come on… it’s got ponies, rainbows and butterflies… and stuff”

“And I… don’t really care” Levi goes back to watching his show

“Hey Levi, I’m going out again soon probably going to run a few errands, would you like to come with me?... after this episode ends?”

It takes Levi a minute to register what was just said

“Uh… sure but after this show”

After the episode had finished, Levi and Joshua both get up and head to the car. Josh starts the car and starts driving to the old train tracks on the other side of town.

“Hmm, instead of running errands, lets go drive around for a bit… how does that sound?

“Sure” The two were quiet for a while but then Josh Broke the silence.

“You sure do enjoy My little Pony Levi”

Levi laughs “It’s my favorite show! I really like Applejack and Rainbow Dash, they seem to have similar personalities to me… what do you think Josh?”

“Eh, I’m not too big into My little Pony, but I would have to agree, Applejack and Rainbow Dash sure do have similar personalities to us”

After a few minutes josh slowly starts closing his eyes.

“Ugh I didn’t get much sleep last night… perhaps we could pull over and I could take a nap”

“Nonononono… there’s a diner about 10 miles from here if you want to stop in… saying that you don’t fall asleep before then” Levi smiled, starting to get worried about Josh falling asleep

Joshua keeps his eye on the road, after a few seconds he begins closing his eyes, but he jolts back awake

“What? What happened?... Oh right”

A few seconds later he passes out completely and the vehicle veers sharply to the left, throwing Levi out of his seat. Levi screams loudly and he reaches for the wheel. Josh jolts back awake and is unable to control the car.

“AHHH!!!!”

The vehicle swerves off of a cliff and the two start screaming for their lives.

“AHH!!!!” their car hits the ground and their entire front half of the car smashes together like aluminum foil, trapping levi and josh by their feet

“Oh shit, it hurts!” Levi attempts to pull out his right leg

“Don’t do anyth-“ the car explodes killing both of the men trapped within the car

Levi and Josh are dead, killed by Josh’s choice to fall asleep behind the wheel

Welcome to Purgatory Levi Hansen and Joshua Hansen, your deaths are unfortunate and catastrophic to those you love.

“Who are you?” Levi shouts “and where are you?”

I am Death, you cannot see me until you have passed into the afterlife. I am here to look and see if you both have lived good lives

“Do we go to heaven if we’ve lived good lives?” Levi asked.

Yes, but there is another option

Levi and Josh both glance at each other nervously

“What is this ‘other option’ that you mentioned?” Josh asked.

You can both go to any realm that you desire

Levi did a little happy dance and stared at Josh smiling

But, I have not checked your files completely yet… Death flips through his notes. Joshua, you do have several marks on your file, but not enough to go to hell. So you may choose to go to heaven or any realm you desire. Death looks at Levi. Levi, your slate is perfectly clean, I am impressed… you may both choose the realm you wish to go to.

“I would like to go to Equestria please, May I be sent as a pure-white Pegasus with green eyes?” Levi asked

Consider it done. Death touches the top of Levi’s head and he instantly disappears. As for you, what rea-

“Same realm as Levi, although I would like to be a Pegasus with a Black coat, blue mane and tail, my eye color will be Cyan”

So be it. Farewell Joshua. Death touched his head and he disappeared.
