A new Beginning

Chapter Two: Arrival

(Josh’s perspective)

Josh dive bombs through the air, looking at the clouds and the other Pegasi roaming around several hundred miles away.

Josh inspects himself and sees that he got exactly what he wanted, wings too.

“Aww right, I got wings, now… how do I open them?”

The ground is getting closer.

“Come on! Open!”

His wings shoot out and his decent turns into a glide, he stays like this not moving until his Hooves are safely on the ground. He sits and starts inspecting himself, making sure everything was correct.

(levi’s perspective)

Levi bursts through some clouds as he falls toward the ground below, he kicks the air with his hoof, terrified of hitting the ground too hard… he involuntarily spreads his wings and it turns into a glide.

“Oh yeah! Horns are Soooo over-rated anyway”

Levi takes his slow decent in learning how to use his wings. After a few minutes of practice he has gotten it down and he lands on the ground about 30 yards away from his brother, Josh.

(Josh’s Pov…Point of view)

I see Levi a few meters away from me, so I get up and walk over to him

“Dang, this will take some getting used to”

“Well we can’t just walk into town with our names, Joshua and Levi… everyone else… EveryPony* else will think our names are weird… so what should our names be?”

I think for a minute.

“How about you be ‘Cloud Shaker’ and I’ll be… hmm… how about Dark Night? Seems to be a good name for me”

“Hmm, Cloud Shaker… I like it… call me Shakes!”

Dark smiles “I’m glad you like it, Shakes”

Dark looks around, and sees a dark forest with a town next to it.

“Hey it looks like there’s a town over there, maybe we should go check it out”

Shake immediately got excited, “That’s Ponyville!” and he dashed off in that direction.

Dark spreads his wings and flies clumsily after his brother and they walk into the town together, taking in all of the sights.

A Light-green pony with a harp-shaped cutie mark walks up to them, starts to speak but is interrupted by pinkie pie, appearing out of nowhere.

“HI IHAVENTSEENYOUBEFORE WHATSYOURNAME? MYNAMEISPINKIEPIE YOUMUSTBENEWHERE GASP* IHAVETOGOSETUP APARTYNOWBYE!!”

And just like that, she was gone. Lyra looks around. “uhh… okay” clearly in shock from the sudden appearance and disappearance of Pinkie Pie.

Shake was trying to hold back a laugh because he just met one of the mane six, which happened to be Pinkie Pie.

Dark turns to Lyra. “umm, where new here and we aren’t sure of where to go”

Lyra looks at us. I’m impressed she isn’t pestering us about humans.

“You two should go see twilight” She points with her hoof “She’ll help you get situated here in Ponyville”

“Alright thanks” I start walking in that direction, not waiting for shake to catch up.

I look up and I see another Pegasus with a black coat, like mine, but instead of blue, he had crimson. He flew by overhead at a slow pace, with his hooves out in front of him like superman, he didn’t seem to notice me

Shakes caught up to me. “Whatcha looking at?” I pointed, not saying a word.

I shook my head, dispelling the trance, I continued walking toward Twilight’s library. I must say, it looked identical to how it did in the TV show… only more lifelike. I arrived at the door with Shakes behind me, I peered through the window and all of the lights were off… I started to turn the knob when it hit me… pinkie was throwing a surprise party for me

“SUUUPRIIISE!!” the lights flicked on and a bunch of ponies jumped from their hiding places, confetti rained from the ceiling. I looked at shakes but he looked like he’d had a heart attack. I walked inside and all of the ponies rushed forward to greet me into Ponyville. A Purple unicorn with a star-shaped cutie mark walked passed me to check on Shakes.

She looked at my flank and gasped when she saw no cutie mark, it was obvious that she knew where I was from.

“What are your names?” The purple unicorn told me and Shades

“Uhh… My name is Dark Night, and this is my brother, Cloud Shaker” I told the unicorn. “What is your name?”

“My name is Twilight Sparkle, I’ve seen another stallion that came through here about 10 years ago, he claimed to be from Cloudsdale but infact, he came from another world… is your story the same?”

I desperately looked for a way out but when I couldn’t I admitted it “yes”

“You came from a planet called ‘Earth’ correct?”

I wanted to deny it but Twilight was too smart, she’d know I was lying. Just then I see another unicorn pony with a Neon green coat walk down the stairs “Twilight? What is everypony doing here?”

Twilight looked at him, “Barry, these are two new ponies, from earth” Barry perked up “Earth? It’s been so long since I’ve heard that word”

Barry walked up to me and shook my hoof, “The name’s Mint Barry, but you can just call me Barry if you’d like”

“It’s nice to meet you Barry, my name is Dark Night and this is my brother, Cloud shaker,” I leaned closer to Barry and whispered: “My human name was Joshua Hansen, and my brother’s name was Levi Hansen”

“Well it’s good to see that you two are getting along here well.”

Shakes wakes up and he scratches his head “what… happened?”

Barry walked over to Shakes and they shook hooves. Twilight trots over to me “I’m assuming that since you are new here, you’d need a place to stay for the night, I’m sure AppleJack or Rarity wouldn’t mind sharing a house for the night”

“Thank you for being so generous, I’d be happy to have a place to sleep for the night, until I can get a place of my own.”

“Good, I’ll ask Shadow if he can ask AppleJack if she has a place for you to stay” She went outside and whistled, a few moments later, a black and crimson Pegasus swooped down and landed infront of Twilight. Twilight said a few words and the black Pegasus nodded and looked straight at me, I turned my head to avoid his gaze. He flew off towards Sweet Apple Acres and Twilight came back inside.

“Shadow said that he’d go ask if you could stay with them. I didn’t tell him where you were from but I think he had an idea”

“Thanks Twilight” I smiled and I went to go pull Shakes away from a buffet table filled with snacks. “NOO! MY NACHOS!” He started hitting me and trying to get back to his plate of nachos. I dragged him out of the door, right as the black Pegasus from earlier arrived

“So, you must be the new ponies, Dark Night and Cloud Shaker huh?” We both nodded “I thought so… AppleJack said both of you could spend a night or two, but you’d have to sleep with Applebloom or sleep in the barn”

“Thanks uhh…”

“Shadow”

“Yeah, thanks Shadow. I guess we should be going now” I trotted past him and I flew into the air, and Shakes was next to me, flying faster than me. “I still won’t forgive you for wasting those nachos”
