A new Beginning

Chapter four: The Mare of my dreams

I woke up in the hospital, nopony was around, I laid my head back and I whistled a tune to myself. It was early in the morning and I could hear a few doctors talking between themselves outside the door. A few moments later, the door opened and a doctor entered.

“Mr. Dark, is it?” I nodded. “You are good to leave the hospital, as long as you stay off of that wing for another 2 days or so, you should be fine”

I sat up and I rubbed my wing, feeling pain everywhere I touched. I winced and I got out of the bed.

“Thank you doctor” The doctor said nothing as I trotted past him. I folded my wings against my sides and I trotted outside of the hospital, I trotted into Ponyville and I saw a yellow Pegasus with a pink mane fly by helping a line of geese cross a street.

“Hello there Dear Miss Fluttershy”

“EEP!” Fluttershy hid her face from my sight.

I walked up to her “It’s okay Fluttershy”

“Who… Who are you? I’ve never seen you before here in Ponyville”

“My name is Dark Night, I just recently fought a huge monster and killed it. So uh… yeah”

She looked at my wing and saw that there was a cut, immediately her eyes filled with concern and flew over to my side—the side with my hurt wing “D-did that huge monster hurt your wing?” I nodded.

“Oh my, come with me right now, let’s go get that wing patched up so it can heal correctly.” She dragged me against my will towards her cottage, out of the corner of my eye I saw a brown earth pony with an hourglass cutie mark, walking with a grey Pegasus with a yellow mane, and bubbles as a cutie mark… it took me a moment to realize who the two were, Time Turner (AKA Doctor Whooves) and Ditzy Doo (AKA Derpy hooves) I looked back at them, still being dragged by Fluttershy, I saw Derpy give the Doctor a muffin, the doctor took it and ate it. I turned back to Fluttershy who was struggling trying to drag me to her cottage

“Fluttershy, I can walk ya know”

She blushed. “I knew that…” She dropped me, I got up dusted myself off and I walked in the direction she was originally pulling me towards.

“Lead the way Miss Fluttershy”

She nodded and flew off in the direction of her cottage. Once we arrived she rushed into her cottage to grab some ointments and she rushed back outside.

“Uh, Fluttershy? Aren’t Pegasi wings supposed to heal by themselves?”

“Oh I know they are, I’m just helping with the healing process, making it heal better” She spread some of the strange liquid over my wings and felt instant pain relief.

“wow that works really well. The pain is already gone” She looked up and smiled, I blushed and turned away.

“Thank you Fluttershy,” I gave her a big friendly hug “I really appreciate what you just did for me”

“Oh, it’s no problem really,” She turned her head, I couldn’t see it but I knew she was blushing. “Would you like to go inside? I’m sure you can make yourself at home”

“Uh sure, why not?” I walked into her cottage, remembering what it looked like in the TV show, surprisingly it looked identical. I looked around and saw Angel bunny laying on his favorite spot on the couch, fast asleep. Once the door closed, he jolted awake and shook his fist in the air at Fluttershy, obviously mad that she’d woke him up.

Fluttershy flew over to angel bunny and scooped him up “I’m so, so sorry angel bunny, you can go back to sleep now” She rocked him in her arms and he fell back asleep.

“So may I stay the night with you?” I asked hopefully, if I had fingers, I’d be crossing them.

She flew up to me, and did something I really didn’t anticipate, she kissed me! I was in temporary shock. And Fluttershy realized what she did and immediately started apologizing “Oh I’m so-so sorry Dark, I don’t know what came over me, just being in a room with a handsome stallion such as yourself.”

“Shh, it’s alright Fluttershy. I forgive you”

She smiled but still looked ashamed of herself. I gave her a reassuring look and that seemed to do the trick.

“Yes dark, you may stay the night here.” I smiled and I hugged her.

“Thank you Fluttershy”

She brang me to her room and I made myself a bed just like the one I made at Applejack’s house, a blanket underneath and a blanket ontop of me.

Fluttershy flew to her bed and laid down to rest. I thought to myself the battle with that regenerating beast. Thinking of how I kept on nailing it right in its eyes. I was pretty good at aiming, I looked down at my blank flank and I wondered… maybe…

I didn’t get much sleep, I kept thinking about that conversation I had in the hospital with Shadow, asking him to train me. And I kept thinking about Princess Luna, appearing in my dream. I wonder if she’ll appear to me in my dreams once more. To find out, I rest my head against the blanket and I closed my eyes. And I drifted off to sleep.
