The Netherworld, a dark, dank place with crevices the size of Empire buildings overflowing with lava, dripping stalactites, and the tortured screams of a thousand dead. This is a place where no man no matter how brave would never dare enter, except for one man. That man was... "Oooh, oooh I knows!" shouts a tiny malformed voice. "Shut up Giblet! I'm trying to write our masters biography!" A faint noise like a foot kicking a deflated pig's bladder echos through the Netherworld cavern. "Ow." says the voice and falls silent.
"Hmmm, now where was I... Oh right!" The only man brave enough to enter the Netherworld and claim his place in the Netherworld was the first Master. We didn't know who he was, or where he came from, yet we felt dark energy surrounding his soul, and the other Minions swarmed to his side like flies onto a festering corpse. Before the master's arrival, the minions were only a small part of the Netherworld, trying to survive from the land above filled with light magic and those fluffy rats that the Nordbergians like to call seals! Ugh! Yet when that human entered our lives, instantly things turned for the better.
We invaded the surface and went to recover the rest of the Minion hives, which had been lost in the great war of the Fairy People and the Minion hordes, we were victorious, but our legions were scattered across the land. Our master found all of the Minions, and even the Tower Heart! The main power source for all sorts of evil magic!. He brought all of these things back to the Netherworld, and restored the Dark tower to its former glory! With picking up some quite , ehem, lovely mistress' on the side. Then the Great Cataclysm happened. The Tower Heart become weak and underpowered after the Master went on a scouting exhibition to root out rioters on our borders. It shattered and exploded, utterly destroying the Tower, and reducing the area around it to an infernal wasteland of wild magic. Luckily, I was back in the farthest reaches of the Netherworld when the explosion occurred. I rushed back as fast as my little evil legs would carry me, Yet when I got there, the body of our former master was found charred and blackened in a pool of magic
It took our Blue minions hours to retrieve the body, and despite their best efforts he died in the ruins of his once great kingdom. The Minion network fractured as the different minions decided that they had to flee to live, until only our Brown Minions remained. We remained like that for seven years, until we found our original master's son, a small boy living in the town of Nordberg. His mother had taken him away thinking that the Dark Tower was no place to raise a boy, foolish woman! We found the child and brought him back to the Netherworld to be trained in the art of Dark magic like his father. He followed in his old man's footsteps until he came across the Empire and Emperor Solarius, who turned out to be an overly huggy elf! He cut down the Empire like fleshy wheat and spread evil and fear across the land, which leads us up to now... "Gnarl!" a different yet still horrible voice called out.
"Gnarl, Gnarl!" a Brown minion ran into Gnarl's private quarters and fell at his feet. "What is it now Scabby?" Gnarl mumbled as he closed the book slowly. "Tower Heart glowy, shiny hot! Not even reds able to touch!" Gnarl's eyes widened with fear. "Scabby!," he shouted, "Find Grubby and have him open a Netherworld gate to the Overlord! The tower Heart is destroying itself, it's the Second Cataclysm!" "Yes Gnarl!" Scabby cried, and Gnarl followed him out of his quarters and onto a floating rock that would take him to the Tower Heart chamber, only with a stop to allow Scabby to get off at the forge to get Grubby. And by get off, Gnarl meant that he hadn't waited for the rock to stop and kicked Scabby off when they were hurtling past the red-hot forge at about eighty miles per hour. He didn't worry much about scabby as he heard him smack against the pavement. The Blue minions, with the power to resurrect dead minions were placed at the border of every rock port, just in case of these flying drop-offs. Gnarl's only concern was that Scabby wouldn't remember what he told him. The sentence had more than five words for crying out loud!
As he reached the top of the stalactite castle he found the chamber at the top to be glowing with a brilliant red light which made Gnarl cover his eyes with a clawed hand. He proceeded into the chamber and nearly burst into flame from the heat emanating form the tower heart. It was a silvery white color when it was first recovered, but now it was a deep red, like the flesh of a newborn Red minion. Reds were encompassing it yet they looked uneasy as they tried to absorb the excess heat. He could only stare at it, he wished that Grubby could find the Overlord in time. If not this place was about to represent the backside of a red Minion after he has had extremely fiery curry.
