Bat Colt, Imagine Comet, and Tom Folk: Your triple life
The Bomb (altered)
Previous ChapterNext ChapterFlying at full speed, it felt like only five second from the Library to the Botique. When you get there, you run upstairs. You lift Sweetie Belle on you back and take her outside. You lay her on a bush a short ways from there. You do the same with Rarity, but she wakes up on the trip. Her kiss on the ear almost made your legs lose all feeling. You explain the situation then run back to the Botique. You contact the bomb squad via radio. They're having no luck. As if it couldn't get any worse, you only have half an hour until the bomb goes off. You see that the bomb is not the tiny tnt with a clock attached that you hoped for. You know nothing about disarming bombs, or telling their threat level. The bomb is a large box with a timer attached. You contact the Mayor, who says her local time keeper Time Turner will be right over. You don't see how this will help until you see a blue police box appear. A smile slowly forms on your face. A light brown coated pony with a darker brown mane runs out holding a metal rod with a green tip. You know this pony is the Doctor, and that right there is his sonic screwdriver. You were quite happy to see him. You follow him into the basement.
"Now, I want you to listen carefully. I know you may not fully trust me but I need you to bite that green wire to cut it. I know it will shock, but-" you don't let him finish before you to the batarang that cuts the green wire. "Your costume and theme remind me of a hero in comic books in my universe."
"That's where I got the idea." You say. You explain your story, and even how he was a fictional character in your universe. He questions how you got here and why it worked. You all talk for a while, almost forgetting the bomb. When you remember, there is 20 minutes left. Whoops.
"Alright. I'll open the box with my sonic and see if it really is explosive." As he does, you use your horn to unscrew the other two bolts. When you open it, it is empty. You begin to wonder when the Doctor begins to laugh. Uncontrollably. You run and swear under you breath. You use Spikes grapple hook to grab his leg and run carrying him. You close the door on your way out. You take him to Rarity and bite his leg. You explain quickly. Suddenly, you here a voice on your radio. It's the Prankster.
"Oh, you shouldn't have done that. Now the bomb will go if in seconds instead of minutes."
"The bomb only had gas in it. Not enough to to travel far."
"Oh, you forget that bomb was ment to affect just two ponies. This one is explosive! Ten, nine, eight-" you dash for the building. You get there in two seconds. It takes just one to yell 'out'. It takes three for everyone to leave. It takes two for most ponies to run. One unlucky Lawyer who had been working on the bomb has gasoline on half of his body. His kindness to let every pony through the door before him would pay. The explosion sent glass flying. The fire had lit the pony on fire. Several ponies were hit by glass, but nothing could compare to the pain that pony felt. You ran to him hugged him to try and put out the fire, but it only lit you, too. You picked him up and ran to the fountain. You wouldn't let that pony die. You lept into the fountain your mask had burned half off, but that was nothing compared to that pony next to you. Half of his body was deformed, burnt, and melted. The other half was perfectly fine. You got the medical ponies to help him to the hospital. In that instant, sadness lead to hate.
"That prissy little prankster going to get his sorry flank knocked out of orbit when I find him!" You yell. You run to the burning building. You find a message in a bottle coated in water. You read it. 'So you saved Rarity and Sweetie Belle. Delightful. But had you remembered the bomb, maybe that Lawyer wouldn't have suffered. I've decided I like this too much. It's hard to smile all the time, so I added a little make up for affect. I loved our little fight, but I must be off. Make sure you don't forget anything next time.' You boil with rage. When you found him you'd use him as a punching bag. You only just now realized your Mae was burnt. It was now permanently solid black. You were charred and bleeding, but you didn't care. That pony would suffer for his selfishness, while a poor Lawyer would suffer for his selflessness. You shed silent tears. You noticed that the building was still burning down. You walk into it. You see a small child huddled in the corner crying. You run and pick him up. You run out and take him to the hospital. They say he was uninsujured. You ask him where his parents are, and he tells you his daddy is in the bed next to him.
You look over at the burnt pony. That man was a father. BlueBlood had bombed a building, injuring several. Had you not been there, these ponies would be dead. Had you not double checked the building, so would this child. Had you not run that pony to the fountain, he would have, you know. You leave the child to be with his dad. You notice everypony is outside the hospital. Even Rarity, Sweetie Belle, and the Doctor. Rarity said she saw the whole thing, the building from a distance, and one brave pony running to the fountain. She got there and saw it was you. She kissed you crying. You cried, too. You two held each other. The Doctor and Sweetie Belle cried, too. Rarity sobbed into your suit. You held her to your shoulder. You went back to her place. The gas had cleared out. She puts Sweetie Belle to bed, then asks you to sleep with her.
"I must find BlueBlood, teach him his lesson." You tell her
"I know for a fact he's far from here. He'll come back, but not tonight." She says. "You've done so much to help the city in one night. Just relax and lay down next to me. You make me feel safe. Please stay."
"No sex. I will stay with you if it makes you feel safe. I'll wear my suit to assure it doesn't get out of hoof." You two lie down and kiss lovingly. You stroke her mane. You begin to rub her back. She kisses more passionately, as if to say 'yes, more.' You rub her back and her mane. You two stop kissing and just lye there cuddling. You can tell that she falls asleep peacefully. You gently kiss her ear and leave a note. 'Sorry I had to leave. In the morning I'll need to come out of my house as me like everypony else. You've seen my eyes, but that is all. If, somehow, you recognize me, and still like me, not out of trauma, then maybe we'll might again.'
You leave through the window. The Doctor is outside waiting. "You took a while. I am assuming you comforted Rarity to sleep. You know, your hero may be BatColt, but your person isn't the friendless Bruce Wayne. You were quite the hero. Would you like to be my companion?"
"I'd love to, but I must stay here and protect the city. I'll need some more gadgets and need to upgrade my suit."
"Here, take this." He tosses you the TARDIS key. "For when your ready, or if you ever need to borrow it. Also, take this." He pulls out the 10th doctor's sonic screwdriver. "I got it repaired, but now I have a newer one, so you can have it."
"Thank you so much Doctor. Do you not have a companion?"
"No, I don't."
"I think you should keep looking. You should never be alone." With that, you go on you way. It's three in the morning. You quickly but quietly put your stuff in you back pack. You sleep with the key on under your coat, though. You are quite greatful that Spike wasn't there. One, the danger. Two, the site of it. Three, his crush. You laid your head down to sleep as you heard the calming whoosh of the TARDIS engine.
