It has been decades since the end of the Great World War, and the bomb that ended it all is still infecting the corrupted land of the once great Equestria. Radiation has plagued the land and mutated ponies and animals alike. Bandits attack unsuspecting survivors. Monsters kill anything that moves. Prior to the detonation of the bomb, establishments to shelter ponies from bombing attacks, called Safes, were made. Designed by N.E.I.G.H.S, or the National Equestrian Intelligence Group of Heightened Security, it is made so very few can enter, even less can get out.
Zelig, a pony who was born in Safe #28, which is located near Las Pegasus, dreams of becoming a scavenger, to journey into the Equestrian wasteland. But of course, they always keep quiet about what's really happening outside the doors of the Safes.
