Torment
Work in progress amateur writing by Bnlol, please leave contructive criticism. I have done very little writing in the past and this is likely cheesy as it can get.
It was a beautiful day in equestria. Twilight had all she needed, her friends, her books, spike, the world mostly at peace. Rainbow Dash kept stormclouds away and Pinkie did whatever it is that Pinkie does. Nothing seemed amiss.
Then she woke up. It was only a dream. It was day, no clouds in the sky and a plain field. This hadn’t been where Twilight had slept. Twilight had gone to bed in her library....
“Rainbow Dash?” She cried into the air
“Pinkie Pie? Is this a prank?”
She paused, now in a much more quiet tone
“I hope this is a prank”.
Twilight began walking on the field, which seemed almost imperfectly flat. She continued to yell pony’s names for a few minutes, met with no response, not even a echo.
After a long time, she came across a structure. It was a black cube, one side cut out and filled with a glass window. It was about the size of a normal house. Inside all she saw were a pen, roll of paper, and a timer. The ticked down to zero and made a loud yet quiet ringing sound, which appeared to come from all sides of Twilight. She turned around to see if it truly were behind her and turned back to find nothing but a burning stick marked “You forgot to write”.
This made no sense, she forgot to write what? What was this place? She had written a letter to Celestia that week, and nothing in her brain said she had to write anything else. She continued walking, the daylight just as bright.
She felt her legs lock, and everything went dark. She quickly got the feeling of falling, with air resisting her, as if telling her
“Go up, go up! You fool go up!”.
She looked up and saw nothing but darkness, except her... wings?. Not purple alicorn wings, oh no, the moisture wings that she had once given rarity. What was the meaning of this?. She had the impulse to attempt and fly and did so with ease, as if she were born with the ability to do so. A bright yellow flash blinded her, and she was falling again in darkness, with the same green flat terrain below her. She hit it, at what should of killed her and hurt. But it didn’t, she was fine.
As she sat in shock, three gray cubes surrounded her. Each one with colored text. All read “This is your fault”. The text was either colored orange, pink, red and blue, yellow, or white. What in the world did this mean?
Twilight sat in the middle of the cubes, when she saw two white coats. No bodies, just coats, walk towards her briskly. She couldn't run as if something were holding her. The coats locked her in binds of vines, which grew around her entire body. Her first two hooves latched to her chest with only her back hooves and head free. She kicked and managed to even scream.
She then saw her best friends. Spike, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity were all mutilated and bloodied, stuck on a pole. They each screamed at her, screaming
“WHY, WHY TWILIGHT WHY, WHY TWILIGHT” at increasing volume. Twilight began to cry.
All became black for Twilight, with a loud bang.
“Doc, what’s wrong with her?” Rainbow Dash insisted
“Will she be okay? Shucks i aint even seen nothing like this in years!”
Applejack said worryingly.
“We don’t know what’s wrong with your friend, we had to put her in a straitjacket for the time being. She’s having seizures and appears mentally ill. We don’t know if or when she will get out of the hospital” the Doctor calmly stated “We will notify you if her condition worsens or gets better”
Through the night Twilight continued to babble the words of madmen. She would say "It's not my fault!" or "I'm sorry!" but the doctors just couldn't pinpoint it.
Twilight saw things in that black cage. Things no one can describe.
Twilight fell into a pit. Around her each of her friends did their jobs normally, and she saw a blank, purple unicorn with no face, cutie mark, or ears, cast a beam of magic into a box. Suddenly each of her friends began to fail at what they did, each one slowly and gruesomely dying in the act. As rainbow dash flew straight into a tornado, trying to stop it she was killed by debris. Rarity's hoove was stuck in the sewing machine and repeatedly jabbed into as she screamed. Fluttershy was mauled by a bear she attempted to tame. Applejack bucked a tree with a bee hive in it, and was swarmed by angry, numerous, and determined to kill bees. Pinkie Pie simply fell to the ground and began shaking. All of them screamed "YOU DID THIS, YOU DID THIS, YOU DID THIS"
And all went black again.
Twilight was in what she called a "quiet period" where she sat and cried, waiting for the next horror she saw.
Meanwhile, the doctors scrambled to figure out her condition. Each attempt they tried to have someone talk to her she lashed out in anger and screamed even louder than before. She hadn't eaten in days and they were forced to hold her down and inject fluids to keep her hydrated. She often bashed her head into the walls, even ripping the padding off at part with her teeth. They ended up putting a muzzle on her and softer padding. Her heart rate and blood pressure were through the roof and heart failure was a possibility.
Twilight fell again, she new what would happen, she would see something gruesome and be forced to sit through it. She was growing hungrier but needles sometimes jabbed into her from all sides in the horrors, which strangly made her feel better after the pain subsided.
This horror was different. She saw herself, a exact copy, grow wings. Yes wings, real alicorn wings.
What kind of horror was this? This would have been something she would have never dreamed, as alicorns are often the top class in pony society. She might even become a princess if she actually had them. Was this perhaps the end of her torment? Would she finally not be jabbed with healing needles and watch her friends be killed, would she not watch cubes scream that she did something or forgot to write?
She saw something in the corner of her eye, several odd figures were marching toward her. They stood on two legs, and had odd appendages attached to the legs and torso. They were either a palish papery color with red dots on their face at places or a shade of brown. They had round faces and stylized manes. They seemed to have clothing, some of it even imprinted with...

With pictures of her and her friends, other ponies too. She greeted them "Hello, who are you?".
She was met with a barrage of rocks, each figure grabbed huge stones and hurled them at her. She was bruised and fell to the ground. She felt immense pain as the rocks grew larger and larger and they yelled more and more insults. She saw a new darkness around her, a grayish cloud. It felt soothing. A low calm voice spoke to her.
"Rest, my child".
She was dead, she had died of exhaustion. She had seizured until her body just gave out.
"Dear Ms.Dash, Ms.Applejack, Ms.Pie, and Ms.Rarity, i am sorry to inform you that your friend Twilight Sparkle has died of exhaustion on January Second, 2014. We are sorry, and shall be sending the body to Princess Celestia. You should receive papers including funeral details soon.
