Chapter 1

Previous Chapter

"So.. Erm... Miss Derpy... What exactly were you doing back there in that dreadful forest?" The Doctor said through a mouthful of English Muffin. The pony who had found him, who he had taken to calling Miss Derpy, rather than her actual name had guided him out of the forest and showed him some of this new "Earth"'s features. It appeared to him that ponies had assumed the role of humans in this particular universe, and that the world was entirely dependant on the ponies.

"Well, I'm the mail pony. I was delivering some mail for Zecora, and all of a sudden your big blue boxy thingy fell out of the sky. And then, when a big golden light came out of it, I went inside to see if you were OK," Derpy explained as she walked back to her house with the Doctor.

"First of all, it's a TARDIS. Time And Relative Dimensions In Space, and it-"

"Time and relative dimentia in space? That doesn't make any sense, silly!" derpy scolded playfully, giggling every now and then.

"No, no, dimenseion. Like... Like the way there are three possible measurements to that muffin, hight width and depth. That means that it exists in three simultaneous dimensions, plus one of you count time. If it had only two possible measurements, it would exist in two simultaneous dimensions plus one and so on. The TARDIS actually exists in seven different dimensions on the inside and three on the outside, allowing for more matter to be stored on the insid-"

"You're not making any sense, Doctor. Are you alright after crashing so badly in that blue boxy thingy?" Derpy inquired, seemingly oblivious to anything the Doctor had explained. The Doctor let out a sigh of defeat, and continued to walk alongside the strange, wall-eyed pony. She clearly isn't going to be very much help to you, Doctor... Why are you still following her..? he thought to himself as he walked. But he kept following the stranger who had found him, for reasons that even he didn't see.

When the Doctor and Derpy arrived at her small living quarters, a small pony, presumably ony abpen the out eight years old in human years opened the door. The Doctor stared in awe at the tiny creature, who had just used her horn to open the door without touching it.

"Absolutely brilliant!" The Doctor shouted, rushing toward the filly and patting her head with his hoof, "Why didn't you tell me about the telekinesis? Is that how we pick things up?" The Doctor excitedly felt around for a horn on his forehead, but found nothing. He quickly turned to examine the filly once more, who giggled as he poked and prodded at her.

"Uhm... What are you doing to Dinky, Doctor?" asked derpy, very clearly confused. She cocked her head to the side and watched as the Doctor thought.

"...The horn must be a focusing device then for the releasing energy, meaning.. Damn! Anybody who doesn't have a horn can't use the telekinesis..." he rambled on about how he needed to find out how this and that happened and some more about picking things up, while Derpy took her daughter back inside. The Doctor unconsciously followed her in, closing the door behind him and continuing to ramble on. He followed derpy into a kitchen, where he discovered a refrigerator filled with muffins and fresh vegetables, and an average looking, if not brightly coloured kitchen complete with an oven for baking. Derpy simply stared as he sifted through cabinets and drawers, picking out forks and bowls and bits of plastic. He ran a strange silver device with a glowing blue tip over the oven, where it gave a faint whirring noise. She stared in awe of the new pony, who seemed so bold compared to her. She admired him, although she had only just met him less than an hour ago. And although he denied it, the Doctor knew somewhere deep inside that he felt the same about her.

Author's Note

This one probably isn't as good as the prologue because I don't have alcohol in me.

It's shorter because it's mainly to bridge the gap between the action, which is where I really get to be a good writer. You can be sure the next chapter will be longer!
