Time Jumps And Paradoxes
Back 200 Years
Previous ChapterTwilight Sparkle never thought she would be more consumed in her studies until now. Just days before she stumbled upon one of the scrolls she kept during her ‘’secret mission’’ into the StarSwirl The Bearded wing. She looked it over again, and thought about the concept of Time Travel more clearly. Bending time and space and opening a necessary rift was something she never thought would be invented, even by one of the great wizards hundreds of years ago. Twilight could easily see the benefits, but also the dire consequences.
“Going into the past? Won’t that...”
Seeing the error she could have committed made her even more frightful if any other pony managed to get their hooves on the scroll. It gave specific instructions on how to leap into the past-even for a limited time, could cause drastic changes to the present. What if any of her enemies sought out for this? They all had the power to take it and use it for more serious reasons that even Celestia herself couldn't comprehend.
Twilight sighed and hung her head in trivial sadness. Many mistakes could have been made if something had went wrong while she was in the past that one morning. She didn't know what, but in her opinion, causing a sudden change in time was a much more dangerous procedure than she would have predicted. She didn't want to be responsible for any horrible causalities.
"Spike!" A loud groan penetrated the hull of the library, and soon, Twilight's loyal assistant, Spike, the baby dragon came to down to follow her orders.
"What is it now, Twilight? Forgot your ink and feather again?"
"Nonsense, Spike! Here, take this." Using her levitation spell, Twilight gave Spike the scroll and a large iron shovel.
"Bury the scroll, I don't want to EVER see it again." Spike, as curious as he is, opened the small parchment and read it, but stopped as he noticed the writing.
"Twilight, this is the time travel spell you used to warn your past self! This could be somewhat useful, why bury it?"
"Because, if anypony managed to get their hooves on it, they could cause some serious changes to this time period! I don't want something like that occurring in Ponyville, or anywhere in Equestria. So either bury it, or burn it!"
"I seriously don't see why you can't just hide it and...oh, maybe go back to the past and help some ''random'' dragon get a beautiful date with some ''random'' pony?" Spikes smile spread from ear to ear.
"How about no? Get going!"
Spikes smile faded and he shuffled out the door, disappointed by his request put down. As he walked out, the sun gleamed and pulsed around him. The sweet morning seemed to be more than pleasant to most ponies as many of them were out and about, shopping, cleaning, or chatting with close friends. Spike, despite the day, still pouted and walked into the direction of Everfree.
"Twilight needs to calm down. Its only time travel! It didn't do too much trouble the first time..."
While speaking, somehow Spike found himself at the edge of Everfree. Its sickly stench made him wrench, and his senses told him to turn back. And yet another thought told him otherwise. A few feet a way he dug a small hole, threw the scroll into it, and planted a small rock over it.
"I'm sure she'll need it later... just for safe keeping..."
