Enigmatic Exploit and Undeserved Gratitude
Chapter 4: Monday
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI got out of bed and had a shower. After my shower, I put together myself a hay sandwich. Thereafter, I head out to Canterlot. Normally, after an hour and a half, I proceed into the castle.
I stand before Princess Celestia, I ask her ''Who shall I serve today, Your Excellency?''
''Before I inform you about who you'll assist today,'' she responded. ''You'll be taking a short break this week,'' she revealed. ''All days, bar today, you won't have to work or socialize this Sunday,'' she announced.
I forgot to mention that I've to hang out with the one I didn't work with during the week.
''But, for today, the mare that you have to work with is Twilight Sparkle,'' she answered.
''What about my bits?'' I asked.
''I'll provide you with enough bits for you to last the week,'' she explained
''Thank you, Your Majesty,'' I thanked her.
I, now, was on my way to Twilight's house, when I got there, I knocked on the door. I was greeted by Twilight. ''Good morning, Donnie,'' Twilight said, genially.
''Good morning, Twilight,'' I replied, happily. She welcomed me in. ''Where's Spike?'' I asked Twilight, because the first thing I noticed was a certain purple and green dragon was missing.
''He's at Chocolate Melt's,'' she explained, ''Testing out Chocolate Melt's chocolate gems, he won't be back until next week.''
''So,'' trying to change the subject, '' What work do you have planned for me?'' I inquired.
''Well,'' Twilight began, ''For the first four hours you can tidy away all the books scattered around the place,'' she said, ''And for the last four hours you can gain some knowledge from reading books.''
''Okay, I'll get started,'' I said, determinately. So, I spent four hours, tidying the books, what didn't help was when Twilight was finished with a book, she would throw it over her shoulder, creating more mess for me to clean up.
Eventually, four hours elapsed, ''I'm off to make lunch,'' Twilight said. She disappeared before I could say anything. I, finally, finished tidying away the books, then, I saw a letter on a table. I approached the table and began reading the letter:
My Dearest Twilight,
Discord has escaped from his imprisonment and has remained in Hoofington Cave. This Sunday, you and your friends must stop Discord, once and for all.
Yours Hopefully, Princess Celestia.
I was overwhelmed with shock, I moved away from the table just as Twilight brought in the hay sandwiches. I went to the table and sat myself down. I tucked into my hay sandwich that within a matter of seconds, it was gone.
''You must have been famished,'' Twilight commented. I nodded in agreement. ''So, how are things?'' Twilight asked.
Now if there's one thing I dislike, it's talking about myself. ''Same old, same old,'' I answered. ''What about you?'' I asked with much interest.
''Besides reading and studying, nothing incredibly eventful has happened,'' she replied.
''Okay,'' I said. Not long after, I was reading for the duration of my working hours, Twilight kept informing of what she was reading, giving the definitions of words that I ''supposedly'' don't know.
Because she's seen my grades, she thinks that I'm not up to standard. So, that's why she's extremely condescending.
Soon enough, I was galloping back to Canterlot to get my bits to last the week. As soon as I got my lead bits, I hit the market and got all the necessary foods.
While I was galloping home, I was still thinking about how Discord escaped from his limestone captivity and why is he at Hoofington Cave?
Time must have passed quicker than I thought because I was home before I knew it.
I entered into my house, ate my dinner, brushed my teeth, then I hit the hay for a good night's sleep.
Because I've got plans for the next five days.
