Epilogue: Plot Thread Wrap Up, Plot Thread Wrap Up!

Previous Chapter

The end of September. A whole bunch of crazy stuff had happened in the intermediate time between the Summer Sun Celebration and now. Stuff that nopony would have thought possible before.

First off, Noteworthy and AJ decided to break the news to Granny Smith that they were getting engaged. She was shocked at first, but she eventually calmed down about it.

“I should have seen this coming,” she said. “First my grandson, now my older granddaughter… before I know it, Applebloom will be attachin’ herself to somepony she likes.

“I don’t think that will be for a while,” said AJ, smiling.

“AJ, I just want you to know something,” said Noteworthy. “You are the most beautiful and nice pony I have ever met. No matter what happens, I will always love you. Got it?”

AJ smiled back at him. “Got it. I love you too.” The kids hugged.

Granny Smith sighed. “Kids,” she said, to herself. “You can try to keep them in line but they always jump out.”

Second, Rainbow Dash and Soarin had gotten a little surprise from the doctor when they realized Dash had been late for a considerable amount of time.

“What’s the problem, doc?” asked Rainbow Dash. “Am I gonna be okay?”

“You’re perfectly healthy, Miss Dash.,” said the doctor. “This kind of thing is normal for mares in your position.”

“What do you mean in her position?” asked Soarin.

“Congratulations, Miss Dash. You’re pregnant.”

“WHAT?” the two responded.

“I thought you were using protection!” yelled Dash.

“I don’t know, it must have broken!” said Soarin.

“I can’t fly with a kid! How am I supposed to be a wonderbolt if I can’t fly?”

“Dash, please., calm down. We can just take a little break from flying. When this is over, we can get right back to it.”

“Wait, ‘we’?”

“What, you think I’m going to leave you alone when this is our kid we’re talking about? Flying may be important to me, but you’re more important.”

Dash sighed and smiled at Soarin. “Well, I guess we’re sticking together for the kid.”

“Actually,” said the doctor, “it’s kids.”

She looked at him. “What?”

“Kids. Plural. You’re carrying twins.”

Dash was surprised. She turned back to Soarin. “Wow. You were really efficient.”

“Thanks, I think?” Soarin responded.

Third, the changelings had finally started to integrate into Equestrian society, and Chrysalis and Discord looked out for them as well as they possibly could.

The couple sat on a hillside, looking down at the valley below.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” said Chrysalis.

“It is,” said Discord. “I’m glad we decided to come out here and just take in the sights.”

The two looked at each other with longing eyes.

“You wanna have sex?” asked Discord.

“I thought you’d never ask.”

Later on, after they were done, they returned home to their temporary caretaker.

“Fluttershy! Mac! We’re home!” said Discord.

“About time,” said Mac, sitting and reading the paper. “Where have you two been, and what have you been up to?”

“Nothing you wouldn’t have done,” snarked Chrysalis.

“You two will find a place to live soon, right?” asked Fluttershy.

“Well, we’re in talks with Celestia and Luna to let us stay with them now that Cadence and Shining have gone back to the Crystal Empire.”

“Have they been going well?”

“Let’s just say it might take a bit of persuasion,” remarked Discord.

Spike, meanwhile, continued to grow up and change, much to Rarity’s pleasure.

“My, you’ve grown a lot,” said Rarity, admiring Spike’s growing figure. “It’s simply amazing how time has gone by.”

“Thanks,” said Spike, in a somewhat deeper than normal voice. “You know, the offer is still on the table if you really want.”

Rarity considered it, but then stopped herself. “Thank you, but I’ll have to think about it a bit more.”

“Wow, Rarity, how long are you going to make me wait?”

“Good things come to those who wait, Spikey Wikey.”

Spike smiled. “I hope they come soon.”

Twilight and Caramel finally got married two months into summer. The ceremony wasn’t incredibly large, but the family and friends of both newlyweds came to support them, along with the princesses of day and night.

The reception went over quite well, and Noteworthy got nearly everyone to get up on stage and sing along with him. The spectacle was more than Twilight and Caramel could have ever asked for.

However, all of that was close to nothing compared with their honeymoon.

“Twilight, I’m not sure it will fit…”

“It will fit, trust me.”

“But it’s way too big.”

“I can handle it.” The princess and her husband tried desperately to fit it in, to no avail.

“I told you the suitcase wouldn’t fit in the carriage.

“Okay, fine, we’ll strap it to the roof then.”

“I still don’t see why you insisted on bringing your collection of magic sex toys.”

“You’ll find out soon enough…”

Finally, we have Thunderlane and Pinkie. True to her word, Pinkie invited all of her best friends over, including Discord and Chrysalis, to have a party unlike any other.

After being showered with gifts, Pinkie and her ballooned belly sat down next to Thunderlane while everyone else smiled, talked, played games and saw an amazing performance by Notworthy, courtesy of a collaborative effort between him, Vinyl Scratch, Pinkie Pie, and Pinkie’s wandering friend Cheese Sandwich, who had stopped by because he had sensed a really special occasion about to take place.

“Well, Pinkie, I think it’s safe to say you really outdid yourself with this party.”

“I figure just because I’m the reason everyone’s celebrating doesn’t mean everyone else should be left out of the fun. This is probably the best party I’ve ever had. I’m happy Cheese Sandwich showed up. He really knows how to party.”

“Yeah, your friend certainly is…” Thunderlane sighed. “Special.”

“Yes, he is. But you know what? You’re more special to me.”

The two smiled at each other. They leaned in for a kiss but suddenly Pinkie Pie felt a sharp pain in her belly.

“Oh no. I think something’s happening.”

Thunderlane looked down at Pinkie’s legs. Her seat was wet. This was bad. “It’s coming!” he yelled. “It’s coming out!”

Suddenly, everyone stopped and gathered around Pinkie, praying that she would be alright. Thunderlane took her hoof as she started to hyperventilate.

“Breathe, Pinkie. Just breathe,” he said.

“Somepony call a Doctor!” said Spike.

A brown earth pony, who was walking past the shop, stopped in, looking confused. “Somepony in here call for a Doctor?”

“Yes,” said Noteworthy. “Are you a Doctor?”

“Well, kind of…”

“Have you dealt with live birth before?”

The stallion thought. “More times than I’d like to admit…”

“Great. Can you help us out? Pinkie here is about to blow.”

The Doctor, having little else to do, decided to help out. He was followed in by a gray pegasus with wall-eyes. “Doctor?” she asked. “What’s going on?”

“Who is she?” asked Soarin. “I swear I’ve seen her before, but-”

“She’s crowning!” yelled the Doctor. Everyone suddenly turned back to Pinkie, who was starting to scream. She could feel the head coming out. “Okay, dear. Just calm down. Calm down. Take deep breaths…”

Pinkie, even though she was in pain, complied as best as she could.

“Alright, now, push!” Pinkie struggled, but the baby started coming out much more quickly. The others crowded around, making sure to keep Pinkie steadily on the table.

Eventually, with one last push…

Pop!

The child was out, and started crying. Pinkie was exhausted. But she also knew she was now a mother. “Congratulations, it’s a girl!”

After a lengthy clean-up, Pinkie held her newborn in her arms. “Thank you, Doctor… I didn’t get your name.”

“Turner,” replied the Doctor. “Time Turner. And this is my companion Derpy.”

“Wait, I remember you,” said Rainbow Dash. “You completely wrecked town hall once.”

“It wasn’t my fault,” Derpy replied. “I was just trying to help the Doctor-”

“Derpy, I thought we agreed not to speak of that again,” interrupted Turner.

“Sorry.”

“Well, congratulations, Miss Pinkie. We’d love to stay and chat, but, you know, places to go, things to do, you know how it is. In fact, I think I hear a space lizard calling me. Come along, Derpy.”

“Coming!” The two went out the door, leaving the others alone for a bit.

“That is one strange pony,” remarked Noteworthy.

“I don’t think he’s even a pony, said Discord.

“Well, whatever he is, it’s not important. What is important is: Congratulations, Pinkie!”

“Thanks,” she said, crying a bit.

“So, what are you going to name her?” asked Caramel.

Pinkie looked down at her child. The young baby was a pegasus, who had a dark gray mane and her mother’s pink coat. “Lollipop,” she said.

“Lollipop?” asked Twilight.

Rarity shrugged. “I can think of worse names.”

Thunderlane looked at Pinkie, and his new daughter. “I like that name.”

The couple shared a smile and then kissed. Everyone around them felt really happy.

The party continued, as planned, until it started to get late. Pinkie wished everyone good night and good luck, and she and thunderlane went upstairs to get Lollipop to bed.

That night, Pinkie sang a little lullaby to Lollipop, with Thunderlane close by.

“Goodnight, my angel, goodnight my love. Sleep peacefully when the stars shine above. Don’t be sad or afraid, I’ll be by your side. Goodnight, my little girl…”
