Twilight's horn glowed purple, levitating two scrolls over to her and she sat down at a table. She opened the one on her left and scanned it.

Shifting

This had Twilight raise her eyebrow and she read it over. "Huh..?" Was the only word that could escape her lips. She shook her head, her pink and purple mane covered her face now. She unraveled the second scroll and read it.

Twilight ignored the warning and shoved the species change spell inside her saddle bag instead of the shifting scroll, putting it back where it came from. She got up to her hooves and stretched, moving to the exit of the star swirl the bearded wing and stepped out of the canterlot archives.

Twilight waited at the train station as the train arrived. she trotted into the train and sat down on an empty seat. "Unusually empty today..." She remarked and the train let out a squeak before starting up again.

She arrived in ponyville about 30 minutes later and sighed, stepping off of the train. A pink figure caught Twilight's eye before she was tackled to the ground by pinkie pie.

"Hi twilight!" The pink pony screamed. "How was your visit? Was there cake? Did you bring me back any!?" She rambled on as usual.

"No cake, and it was fine..." Twilight sighed, pushing the hyper-active pony off of her, getting up to her hooves. "Now if you  excuse me, I need to do a bit more studying." Twilight began to trot off into the direction of the familiar tree. She opened the door and it made a squeaking noise.I need to get Spike to oil the hinges again... She thought and pushed some books off of her desk and put her saddle bags onto it. "Spike!" She called and saw a purple and green baby dragon run down the stairs, almost tripping on the way down.

"Yes..?" Spike asked skidding to a halt in front of her.

"I think the door hinges need oiling, could you do that quickly..?" She asked.

Spike nodded and her ran over to the door grabbing an oil can on the way to the door.

Twilight levitated a book over to her. "Quantum physics 101..." She opened the book and began to read a paragraph.

She bolted awake and she shook her head. "I must have fallen asleep..." She muttered to herself.

"Good morning Twilight!" Spike rang and Twilight gazed up at the baby dragon, who was organizing the library.

"Good morning spike..." She said groggily.

"Rainbow dash came in looking for you." Spike looked down at her almost loosing balance.

"What did you say?" Twilight asked.

"I said you were sleeping." He replied. Twilight nodded, getting onto her hooves and trotted towards the door. "I'm going out for a bit okay Spike?"

"Okay!" Spike called. Twilight walked out the door and breathed in the fresh air.

"Hello Flutter shy." Twilight said to the yellow and pink pony as she entered the cottage.

"Oh hello Twilight." Flutter shy looked up at her, she had been trying to get Angel to eat some sort of pill. "He said he hasn't been feeling well..." She said. Twilight nodded, her gaze rested on the rabbit. Angel finally took the pill and swallowed it. He stuck his tongue out in disgust. Twilight levitated a cup of water over to him and he drank it.

"Thank you." Flutter shy looked at the purple mare.

"You're welcome." Twilight said. "Um, Flutter shy I was wondering if I could test a spell on you and the rest of the girls." Twilight flattened her ears.

"S-Sure..." Flutter shy said. "What kind of spell is it..?" She asked timidly.

"A simple shape shifting spell."

"A shape shifting spell!?" Pinkie bounced excitedly around the two mares. "Of course I would LOVE to be turned into something, maybe a pony!"

"Uh... Pinkie you are a pony..." Twilight cocked an eye brow. "Maybe a book." twilight said under her breath.

"Sure Twi, we would love to help you with that spell." Rainbow dash said, Apple jack nodded her head. They all trotted over to the carousel boutique and walked in.

"Howdy rarity." The farmer pony smiled.

"Why hello there girls." Rarity looked at them. "What brings you to the carousel boutique today?"

"We were wondering if you wanted to help me with some magic practice. Just a simple shape shifting spell, that's it." twilight said simply.

"Alright." Was rarity's only word and she stepped closer to the five. Twilights horn lit up and suddenly stopped.

"Almost forgot..." She took out the scroll from her saddle bag and scanned it, looking at the numbers. She threw it away and her horn lit up again. "are you ready..?" She asked. the five nodded looking at her. 42.96.5 She thought and there was a spark. Twilight was thrown against a shelf and she squeaked.

A few minutes later her eyes fluttered open and she looked around. he pony friends were still there, the same but not the same. She couldn't put her hoof on it. Then she took a closer look at them and screamed.
