Pontential Break Up Story
Applejack trotted happily to the Carousel boutique. She knocked on the door giddy to see Rarity. She had planned a lovely picnic and the afternoon would be perfect!
Soon enough AppleJack heard hoove steps and the door opened. "Hello, and welcome to Carousel bouti-" Rarity looked up at Applejack.
Suddenly the smile faded, replaced by a grimace. "Oh, it's you." She sneered. Applejack was confused. "Uh Rarity ya' don't look so well, ya' feelin' okay, doll?"
Rarity clenched her lips together. "You would know wouldn't you!" she yelled sounding heartbroken. Applejack stepped back suddenly. "Rarity?"
"Just go!" Rarity shouted. Applejacks heart broke into two pieces. What had just happened? Why did her precious girlfriend just rip her attempts into pieces. As AppleJack turnt she heard a slight sobbing and the slam of the door. Applejack sighed and walked her way back to Sweet Apple Acres. She felt horrible now and didn't even know why Rarity was so upset.
Along the way home AppleJack ran into Pinkie pie. "Hey Applejack! How are you?!" Pinkie said bouncing cheerfully. Applejack put up a smile, it faded suddenly. "Not very good actually, Pinkie." She said. Pinkie then looked at her with sad eyes. "Whats up AppleJack?" Applejack just teared up. "It was Rarity we were gonna go on a nice picnic today but she wasn't doin' to good! I don't know why she was so upset. " Pinkie Pie stared at her with concern. " You know Rarity she can be pretty sensitive!" Pinkie said following with, "Did ya' try talking to her?" Applejack nodded. "Yup. She was to upset tah' talk." Suddenly Pinkie beamed a smile. "I now! i will throw a party and invite all the girls! then you two can talk. Oh we will have cake, streamers, balloons,and party favors!" Pinkie squealed delightfully. Before Applejack could reply Pinkie Pie bounced off to go and set up her party.
Applejack shrugged, a slight smirk on her face. She continued towards her home on the farm, still a bit upset about rarity.
_Later that night_
Applejack arrived at the party seeing all the beautiful decorations. "Ya' out did yourself Pinkie!" She said in awe as the other ponies began arriving. Upon walking in the door Rarity stuck her snout up and trotted in the other direction.
AppleJack just frowned. 'Come on AJ talk to her! You gotta be honest and ask her what's going on.' she thought to herself. It was then that Applejack got the courage to walk to Rarity. She coughed up every ounce of courage. "Rarity, what in the heck is the matter?"
Rarity just scoffed. "you really don't know do you!? Oh nothing really just the sheer fact that we have been together for a long time! I don't even think I should have to tell you! Figure it out yourself!" Rarity shouted trotting towards Twilight and Fluttershy. Applejack just stood a bit unsure.
She decided to take time to think about it. She allowed herself to really understand what is wrong. What could be the problem? Hating Applejacks clothes? Does she not compliment Rarity enough? Is Rarity secretly in love with someone else? Applejack just inwardly shook her head. Naww! Those can't be the reasons! she complimented Rarity all the time! tried to dress as nice as possible for her, and always always, made sure to keep her interested. Applejack just put her hoofs on her head and shook back and fourth.
'What in the hay is that pony talking about!' She thought. It was only then that she overheard Rainbow Dash mention her and fluttershy's anniversary since they had been dating for about 2 years. Applejacks eyes widened, she bit her lips and crinkled her snout. She realized exactly why Rarity was upset.
She had forgotten their anniversary.
