Down With The Loyalist

It was a normal sunny day in Ponyville. There was a slight breeze, bringing the scent of fresh flowers and baked goods through Sweet Pea's open windows. "Is there anything that could go wrong today? I mean really, other than the occasional rabbit stampede, it seems like nothing ever goes wrong." She yawned, rising from her down-feather bed. Grabbing her glasses from her night stand, she blinked to become aware of her surroundings. Though, this did not prevent her from fumbling over her hooves and tripping down the stairs.

After checking for any serious injuries, she continued through her morning routine. Grabbing toast and a freshly brewed cup of tea, she sat down and began to contemplate the meaning of the universe. About five minutes into her thoughts and a rather loud BANG and CRASH shook her from the day dream. "Sweet Luna! What in Equestria was that?" Sweet Pea jumped from her dining room chair and quickly rushed next door, from where the sound had originated. 'Those Damned scientist, at it again with their experiments.' She thought to herself with quite a grump. It was usually very hard to get Sweat Pea in a ruffle, but when she was, she was determined to get to the bottom of it.

Sweet Pea waited at the doorstep for a few minutes, thinking of the different things these ponies could have come up with. 'Electric something or other, chemicals, or maybe magic...ah who gives a hoot, I'm tired of this.' The door opened and one of the scientist, Charles, happily greeted Sweet Pea. "What can I do for you today sugar-snap?" He asked as if he had no idea the previous noise had occurred. 'I always hated that nick name' "Did you not hear the disturbing noise that came from your house? It shook my morning tea right out of my hooves!" She said, pushing Charles back through the doorway. "Well um, you see, Erwin and I had been working on this for sometime" He moved out of the way for Sweet Pea, inviting her in. "We've been experimenting on the affects of Caesium. We mixed in the wrong element and BLAM." Charles explained. As he went on, Sweet Pea lost interest. "Yeah yeah" She interrupted "Just don't let it happen again, I worry for your safety sometimes." It was then, she saw a new pony, helping to clean up.

His mane was pink and purple that criss-crossed over his face in a shaggy fashion. A unicorn's horn separating a strand of pink from a strand of purple. His coat, a dull purple or gray, she couldn't quite make out the color. His blue eyes caught her attention and she realized she was starring. "Oh, I'm sorry. I don't believe I've seen you before. I'm Sweet Pea, what's your name?" She smiled in a friendly manor. The station returned the smile and greeted her. "My name is Digibrony, I live in the room upstairs. I'm kind of a recluse so that could explain why you haven't seen much of me." 'Well this is going smoothly. He seems pretty cool, QUICK make him laugh!' "Eh..so you live with these two? How can you stand the noise?" She chuckled to herself "Well, it's not so bad after the millionth explosion." The two laughed. "So how about you come over for lunch, new neighbor?" She asked, trying not to come on too strong. "I'd love to! I'll see if I can get a break from these two." Meanwhile Charles and Erwin smiled at them from behind the kitchen doorway. They looked at each other and said "Looks like friendship is in bloom"
