Down With The Loyalist

That afternoon, the two acquaintances discussed trivial matters over lunch. "And well, now I'm here" Sweet Pea said, finishing up a rather lengthy story of how she came to Ponyville. "I talk a lot sorry." "It's alright, honestly I enjoy listening to other people's stories." Digibrony smiled, reassuring her that she had nothing to apologize for. "Well I came here a few years ago and well, it might sound crazy but I've been doing a lot of research about humans" He said, unsure of Sweet Pea's reaction. "Oh my, you sound like my friend Lyra, she's completely fascinated by that stuff. She's tried to get me into it and it's pretty cool but there isn't any real conclusive proof they exist. Then again that's just my opinion, if you like it then good for you" She smiled and drank her calming tea. The awkward silence reared its ugly head around the corner and swooped in to shadow Digibrony and Sweet Pea.'Shit. What do I do now? Gotta think of something before he get's tired of me' She thought, her eyes darting around thinking of something to say.

"Is something wrong?" Digibrony asked, leaning in to get her attention. "SLUGS HAVE FOUR NOSES!" Sweet Pea shouted out of sheer panic. She didn't notice, but she had lunged forward to shout and bumped noses with Digibrony. Both wide-eyed and staring, he backed up a bit to sit comfortably in his chair. "I'm so sorry about that...." She said, blushing a deep maroon. 'I could just die right now. Dead. I'm dead, there's NO WAY he's gonna consider me a friend now.' Suddenly, he began to laugh. "Well that's quite the fact. You're like a snapple!" "A what?""Oh....nothing." They both chuckled and smiled. 'That could've gone better, but at least I got him laughing.'"I kind of just do that. I'll space out and try to think of something to say but if somepony tries to get my attention I'll shout out the first thing that comes to my mind. It's kind of annoying." Sweet Pea said, looking down at her now half empty cup. He smiled at her and got her to look up. "That's ok. It's kind of nice to see that somepony tries so hard to make a good first impression."

The two ponies spend a good 3 hours chatting it up, taking turns trying to make the other laugh. "And then I said 'I had a WHALE of a time!" The two laughed and laughed, finally calming down enough to realize the time. "Look at that, nearly 6 and it's already getting dark." Digibrony stretched and got up from his seat. "Are you leaving so soon?" "Well yeah, it's late and I got some things to do for the egg-heads back home." Sweet Pea frowned. "Well if you're up later, you can stop buy for star gazing. I'm a bit of a night owl so I'm up almost all night." He smiled "Yeah sure." He let himself out of her house and as soon as he was out of hearing range Sweet Pea squealed. "Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh! Does he like me? I think he does. We're friends at least! OOOOHHHHOHOHOHOH!" She rolled around on her diningroom floor like a filly on Heart-Warming morning. Rushing upstairs she got her telescope ready and awed at the beauty of the oncoming twilight.
