When Species Meet
A simple call
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Wait, so you didn't crash from space?" Rainbow Dash asked a bit confusedly, as they slowly approached the laboratory door."Then where did you come from?"
Twilight let out a sigh. "He already said that he came from a country called Canada, and that it was north-west from Equestria."
"North-west?" Rainbow paused, "there's nothing there besides water."
"Well, it seems that there is," Williams added.
The rainbow maned pegasus fluttered by. "How did you get here anyway?" Rainbow Dash asked with crossed hooves.
"I came here in a jet fighter," Williams answered simply.
Everypony looked at each other slightly confused, and returned their look to Christopher.
"Well you know, a plane."
They all looked at each other again, and returned their gaze to the human.
"Do you guys know what an aircraft is?" Chris asked, eyebrow raised.
"Yes, an aircraft is a machine that lets beings who are otherwise unable to fly, fly," Twilight answered with smile.
Williams could have sworn he heard a little squee. "Do you have any aircraft here in Equestria?" he asked.
"Well our biggest air balloon ship is currently here in Canterlot," she replied proudly.
'Air balloons... really?' He thought to himself, expecting something more technologically advanced.
Finally, they arrived in front of the white laboratory door. They entered the massive room, only to be met and blocked by a group of scientist ponies. They were all looking at the jet fighter, mouth-opened, amazed and curious at the same time. Whispers could be heard from the gathering, as the mane six, the guards, and the human attempted to find a way to get through the group of scientists.
"What an amazing machine..."
"I wonder what this is for?"
"What are these black round things on the back of it?"
One guard from the group that had just entered, rolled his eyes and stepped a few meters from the scientists. He then cleared his throat, clearly preparing something.
"MAKE WAY FOR THE PRINCESS'S GUARDS!" He yelled out loud. Everypony in front of them quickly made a way for the little group to pass.
As they passed through the newly made way towards the plane, Williams noticed that everypony surrounding them were looking at him with curiosity.
"What an intriguing specimen..." one scientist muttered.
"He must be highly intelligent."
This statement almost made Christopher laugh, but he was able to hold it all the way to the jet fighter. As soon as he arrived in front of his plane, he was surprised to see the rest of the aircraft still intact. Of course the bottom was scratched, and the right wing had a wide hole, but the rest of it didn't seem to be damaged at all.
With this quick inspection done, he looked inside the cockpit to see if anything went missing. To his relief everything was still there.
He turned around and noticed the princesses entering the room. He wanted to ask something to them, but his attention was quickly brought up at the rainbow maned pegasi who trying to suppress a laugh.
Twilight turned her gaze to her friend."Rainbow, what's so funny?" she asked.
Immediately after, Rainbow Dash burst into an uncontrollable laugh. Chris could only stare at the pegasi with his eyebrow raised.
Rainbow was rolling on the ground and pointing at the plane.
"You flew with this thing!?" she asked, still laughing at the aircraft.
"Yeah." Chris simply said, while not very impressed by Rainbow's reaction.
"That thing is heavy."
"Yeah, so what?" the human asked.
"So it can't fly, duh," said Rainbow, certain that this thing couldn't leave land at all.
Chris didn't respond, he was sure that even if he tried to explain to her the basic of lift and velocity, she would probably just be annoyed. Judging by how stubborn she was, he decided to speak to the princesses at the back.
"Your highness?" asked the human, trying to catch their attention.
"We are listening," answered Celestia, a bit confused by Rainbow Dash's behavior.
"Can I proceed?" Chris asked with an eyebrow raised.
The two sisters looked at each and returned their gaze to the human. They simply nodded as a sign of approval.
Without waiting, Chris jumped into the cockpit. Everypony looked with interest at the human, touching and switching on random buttons.
Suddenly the cockpit came to life, green lights flashed, and the sound of power coming back was heard.
Everypony was amazed by what they saw, and even the two regal sisters were intrigued. Everything seemed to be working perfectly, the air intake was working, the battery was still intact, and even the gears seemed to be functioning properly.
However, one thing still needed to be checked to see if it was working, and that thing, was the radio. With a bit of hope, Chris turned on the device and started to talk.
"Control tower, this is Dagger-3, please respond control tower."
Seconds passed, but nothing came.
Williams was starting to become nervous and worried. Calls after calls made seconds slowly turn into minutes. Everypony started to feel sorry for the human. Chris was about to give up when suddenly, a voice could be barely heard behind the sound of interference. Hope quickly came back, as he rushed towards the radio.
"Chris?" the voice spoke,"Chris is that you?"
"The one and only," Williams replied with a smile, as he recognized the voice of Clark.
"Dude, everyone thinks you're dead," Clark added. "Are you still floating out there?"
"Floating? No. Standing on hard ground? Yes."
"Ah okay, wait what!?" Clark asked in confusion.
"Well, it's kind of a long story. At first, I thought I was going to crash into water, then realized that I wasn't. So I pulled the controls, and then everything went black. After that I woke up in a cozy bed, only to find out that this land was inhabited by pastel coloured ponies that have wings and horns, do magic, and talk. At first I thought I was on drugs or some crap like that, but then I discovered that this was real. And then--"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a second." Clark interjected," you're saying that the land where you are is inhabited by pastel colored... ponies?"
"Yeah," Chris simply said, praying for Clark to trust him.
After seconds of pure silence, the voice of Clark finally came out, "I think I know what's happening."
"You do?" Chris asked, a bit confused.
"It's pretty obvious that you took some sort of drug on that mysterious land of yours."
"It's real! They are all listening right now!" Chris shouted in anger.
"Dude you're seeing things," Clark stated. He was starting to feel worried for Chris.
"Just listen--" Chris wanted explain, but was immediately cut off by Princess Celestia who was joining in by his side."I assure you that all of this real," she spoke awkwardly.
Princess Celestia could have sworn she heard the same three words from before. A long silenced lasted. Celestia looked at Williams with a confused look. Soon the voice of Clark was heard again.
"Chris?" Clark asked.
"Yeah?"
"Who was that?" asked Clark, not so sure what was happening here.
"I am princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria, and protector of my little ponies; and I can assure you that everything your fellow human said is true." Celestia responded by herself.
Everypony stared with wide eyes at their ruler, communicating with the strange human device.
Paris airport, air control tower, 2:18 PM
"What the fuck was that!?" Clark stated out loud.
"We are as confused as you are Major," added an elderly man in a black uniform.
"General Lesnar!" a young man who was sitting in front of a computer called.
The elderly man sighed. "Yes, what is it Nick?"
"You might wanna take a look at this."
With that said, General Lesnar walked towards Nick and the rest of the research group followed. They then stopped in front of the monitor, and stared at it for a moment. They stared with interest, as the screen showed a sky view of the center of the Atlantic.
"NASA was kind enough to share these images," stated Nick.
"Everything looks fine," Lesnar added." What's so interesting about them?"
"Just wait until the clouds move."
Slowly the clouds moved to reveal a majestic piece of land. Lesnar and all the crew team looked at the land with admiration. It was filled with life, mountains, plains, forests, you name it.
"Well..." Clark added while looking at the screen,"looks like Chris didn't took drugs after all."
"Yeah, but that don't explain the pony civilization thing." one of the research crew stated.
Slowly the camera zoomed in around the land and immediately showed a nice little village.
"A village... no way," Lesnar said, dumbfounded.
"I know right?" said Nick." Believe me, the guys from NASA were as shocked as we are right now."
"Well, looks like we have something big going on here" Lesnar stated."Craig!"
"Yes sir!" A man sitting in front of a computer replied.
"Do we have any ships that can quickly reach this... Equestria land?"
"HMCS Montréal is patrolling near the western shore" The crewman replied firmly.
"All right, send it to recover our man. I'll call the U.N and tell them about this whole scenario. They'll know what to do," Lesnar finally said, before turning his gaze to Clark."Keep the signal with Chris, if something happens then we'll know it."
"Sir yes sir," Clark said, as he returned to the radio.
Everypony was looking at the human and his machine with inquisitive eyes. To everypony's surprise the device spoke again, revealing the same voice from earlier.
"Chris? Chris, you're still there?"
"Yeah I'm still here," Chris replied simply.
"Alright now listen," Clark said with a serious tone. "HMCS Montréal will be near the western shore tomorrow max. If you can deal with the ponies to get you here, it would be appreciated."
Williams turned his gaze to Celestia, who simply nodded in approval."They'll bring me there."
"Good," Clark added, relieved that the ponies were sympathetic."General Lesnar just finished contacting the U.N, and they said that it was a job for NATO."
"What did they decided to do," asked Chris, a bit nervous.
"They decided to send four diplomats to raise up the relations with the ponies," Clark said happily." One Canadian, another one American, and the two others are Spanish and French."
"And they're all gonna be in the Montréal?"
"Yep," Clark simply replied.
Chris was happy, everything was going perfectly. HMCS Montréal would be there to recover him, and the ponies had kindly agreed to bring him to the western shore; but a part of his mind was still skeptical over the ponies. 'Will they really bring me there?' He thought to himself nervously.
"I'm sorry to interrupt," the white alicorn apologized; "but isn't it a great time for us to get some rest, so we can be ready for tomorrow?"
At first Chris was skeptical, but then he decided that he could use some rest. "Yeah, I think I could use some rest."
"All right, let me show you to your room," Celestia answered softly with a smile.
Celestia's quarters, Midnight:
"What if they atttack us!?" Luna shouted with a bit of worry and uneasiness."You don't know their power. We... Don't know their power!"
Celestia looked at her and sighed."I understand your anxiety sister, but you worry a little too much."
"Too much!?" Luna yelled."I tried a simple telekinesis spell on this creature, and guess what!? It didn't work!"
"I know that these creatures are powerful, and yes I know that they are immune to magic. That's why we will talk to their diplomats, befriend them, and bring peace like we always did with the Griffins, the Zebras, the Saddle Arabians, and the Ecotonians," Celestia answered with an angry voice, but returned to her gentle tone."But in one way, you're right Lulu. That's why I put the guards at high alert; that way if they are hostile, we'll be able to get our ponies back to safety. Now go get some sleep."
"But Tia!" Luna wanted to reply, but was immediately teleported into her quarters.
