Sooner than what seemed possible i found myself in school. Annabelle and I found ourselves thrown into separate schools. I was accepted into a military school and she a school for engineering. We kept our friendship alive via letters, post cards and, rarely, a visit here and there. She had found a mustang that she loved. I hated the sound of that. It brought me to tears that i had lost her. however at the same time, I was happy that she had found someone that I hoped to dear Celestia treated her well. a postcard has been included in my journal.

Nothing made me happier to see the cards she took the time to send me.
As days turned to weeks. I felt myself getting stronger and smarter. Friends came and went while i was in the school. None of my friends were able to survive the school. I graduated as an average soldier in the Equestrian civilian guard. Which meant nothing special happened. maybe a few brawls here and there but the most that ever happened was the changeling attack...that didnt turn out so well....nearly losing my head was an experience. I actually won a medal and a promotion to Lance Corporal.
I know this is weird, but I actually remember quite a bit from my birth. I remember the warmth suddenly changing from nice and cozy to just cool and kinda humid. I didn't like it. I cried for the first time and i felt some warm hooves holding me. I remember hearing a soft and fatigued voice mutter
"My little colt....Shining night..."
I then felt myself being rolled away. At that time my eyes weren't developed for sight. All i could do was hear and smell. Even those were very basic. The next thing i know i hear a deep voice and the same loving, quiet one. The latter sounded closer. I felt a soft brush across my face. I soon felt a soft cushion beneath me. I knew some how that I was safe. I felt warm and comfortable. I felt as if I could lay there forever and not be unhappy or annoyed. I soon fell asleep. As soon as I awoke I found something streaming down my face. I couldn't help but wonder. Am i dying? So soon? I felt a strong but loving pair of hooves pick me up and put something to my small and screaming mouth. I suckled at it and soon found a sweet liquid coming down my throat. I stopped crying. Enjoying the feeling. When it ended i was laid down once again and covered with a soft and comforting blanket. I felt at peace once again.
Sooner than i knew it was my first birthday. I hadn't any friends as of that day. My parents were very protective of me and only let me out when they both had a purpose. Nothing mattered to me. I was simply precious cargo. As long as one of them, preferably my mother, was with me. I was happy. My first contact with another pony was a very nice one. They had green mane and a yellow coat. She was just younger than me. She and I were set down to play. I crawled over as best i could. I poked their side. Wondering if they would hurt me. I saw them look at me, just as curious as I was. We played with the blocks. they made a magnificent castle. The best i could muster was a small tower. In our own special way i said my name. She shared her's.

Nothing at that time seemed to matter to me. But soon she came to be my best friend, and first Crush
