Long ago far to the west of equestria there was a great empire. Far greater than Equestria and The Crystal Empire combined. However for some odd reason it collapsed in on its self. Luna discovered these ruins and went mad decideing to join the current inhabitants.

The only one that truly knows anything is Bluestar an elusive character who for some odd reason fears the princesses.
