“Wait, Twilight! Hold up for a second!” Rarity said, running towards the purple coated mare.

“Yes?" Twilight responded

“I'm glad I was able to catch you right before I left off to Canterlot,” Rarity said. “I wanted to first and foremost thank you for having the princess accommodate me with a fabulous suite in the castle. It’s absolutely unbelievable!" Rarity squealed with delight.

“Oh Rarity… Nothing is too good for my true friend!” Twilight replied with a smile.
Rarity was dressed far better for the occasion than most of Ponyville’s resident ponies generally do, as usual. She wore a lemon colored sun hat, a white and purple striped dress with red horse shoes. She was clearly excited to go to Canterlot for time with the high society ponies. Twilight was excited that she was able to give Rarity the opportunity that would be quite an experience for her.
“Oooo I can't wait for the train to arrive,” Rarity said. It's going to be positively spectacular!"
Twilight and Rarity had been waiting for about five minutes when Rainbow Dash flew on by.
“Hey! What are you two waiting about for?” Dash asked.
“Oh… hello there, Rainbow Dash” Rarity replied. We’re just waiting for the friendship express to take me off to Canterlot to enjoy some quality time with the princess and meet new ponies, which are considered the high class ponies in equestria, but overall it's what you might call…..a…. vacation basically”
“Awesome......... Not really. I'm bored,” Dash replied “I…uh…think I'm gonna go check on the Pegasi in Cloudsdale now. Im curious what they are doing” Rainbow Dash said then flew away quickly.
“Ok see ya later!” Twilight and Rarity said in unison. They both laughed because of the irony. They had waited around for ten more minutes and then Rarity said “Where can that train be? It's taking a while to get here…”
“I agree. What's the hold up I wonder?” Twilight said.
Shortly after Twilight spoke they both heard a faint horn.
“Is that it….?” Rarity wondered.
The sound of the train horn was getting louder. It was coming their way no doubt about it. They waited longer still until it was in eyesight, just upon the horizon and sighed with relief that it was just simply late. The train had finally arrived within minutes and had to offload ponies first before more got on. Along the mountain of visitors there was one pony that Rarity felt a sudden urge to stop and to gaze at. This pony which happens to be a stallion, had a two colored mane as well as his tail which were blue and white as base colors and the tips of his hooves. His mane was medium length, and his tail was fairly long and somewhat fire shaped. It was outlined with blue and the inside was filled with white. He had a dark blue vest trim colored grey. His cutie mark was the first octave of a piano. When he got off the train he just leaned up against a post just hanging around for some reason. Rarity and Twilight both went over to say hi.
“Um…. Hello there….” Rarity said once she walked up to greet him trying not to blush.
The pony looked away unresponsively.
“Hello?” Twilight asked
The pony still remained unresponsive.
“Are you mute? A nod or shaking your head would let us know that you can hear us.” Twilight said.
“…..hmph…” the pony said.
“Perhaps he's upset?” Twilight said.
Rarity nodded in agreement wondering if there was a possibility that this pony might be trouble or blocking out some sort of distress.
“My names Rarity and this is my friend Twilight” Rarity said to the pony.
He replied “Hey there.”
"Ooooh….he does talk eeeeee!!!" Rarity squealed with delight.
“Jeez….. All it takes to get somepony to come up to you is standing around here? Seems to me like all the ponies in this town are not musically inclined, seem very simple and perhaps too nice.”
“Hey! No need to be insulting anypony!” Twilight shouted.
“I wasn’t insulting…. But first impressions can skew or really paint a picture for you” the pony answered back.
“Hi Twilight, Rarity, how is your day going?” fluttershy asked as she came around
“Oh hey Fluttershy, and pretty good so far…” Twilight responded.
“Hello there darling, and quite well.” Rarity answered.
The pony was still quiet.
“Oh ...hello….what’s your name?” Fluttershy asked the pony.
“My name is Leon ok?” responded Leon.
“Leon huh...? That’s a nice name…” Fluttershy said to Leon.
“Well Leon… Where did you get your jacket at?” “I simply must know because it looks rare and well crafted.” Rarity said.
“…….I got it as a gift……” Leon replied.
“But do you know where?” Rarity asked.
Leon said nothing.
“Hmph!” Rarity said in a very irritated manner. " why are you being so crude?… You are absolutely impossible Leon…. I just simply want to offer you my friendship... you know so we can be friends" rarity said sheepishly but sincere.
“Keep in mind that it doesn’t matter how many friends you have or think you have in the end we are all alone, and I fly solo for that purpose.” Leon said.
“Leon you are quite a downer….” Twilight said.
Leon remained quiet.
“Have you met princess Celestia?”
“…..No….” Leon responded.
“Do you know who she is?” Twilight asked.
“….Of course…” Leon replied.
“Well you believe in magic being friendship do you not?”
“….I believe in what I make…. Nothing more…” Leon replied.
Dont forget that the power of friendship and working together to achieve a goal is more efficient then doing everything yourself. twilight said.
"......I dont need anypony......" Leon said and I especially do not need to have some purple nerdy mare telling me what I need and what I don’t need.
This cut twilight deep. She began to tear up.
“oh its alright darling…. Rarity comforted twilight as she cried a bit. Leon we don’t need to resort to such petty insults”
Leon remained quiet.
“Well my goodness, you don’t have to be so direct all the time Leon….. twilight said. There is no need to be mean. Im surprised anypony would say that to me. Come on girls lets go somewhere else for now”

Author's Note

I'm gonna be frankly honest......this is just a beginning to my Fanfictions. I've never done this before and i thought id try to start shedding some ideas on stories that i can come up with when i get inspired or get an idea to write about. doesnt everypony right? the story is finished now but I need to edit some things because i don't pay attention to my grammar usually when I'm writing...i just throw things onto the paper and edit later to make it look great. i feel that more dialogue makes a story more appealing but perhaps that is just me. Just thought people might want something new so anyway i'm expressing what i can.....i have never really been a writer and am happy that this one is finished story wise. also, I'm very optimistic about feedback and commentary so please comments are good!

chapter 2 what to do with Leon

At the time that Twilight and her friends left, it was about dusk and Leon had to go get a room at the hotel and sleep off the night as well as wonder about what he could do with his music career next. He had blown into Ponyville because he had heard that it was peaceful but he didn’t know they had a welcoming party. Music is what he is all about after all but he was not a social pony he hasn’t been for quite some time. Perhaps another cover? He thought to himself. After all Owl City is his favorite artist to do those for. They are so heartwarming and perfect for dancing. Electronica is what Leon's style of music is and what he enjoys playing on the keyboard. It’s his style. And the dance of the music feeling just lets the emotions fly everywhere.
The night went on by and at about 2:00 A.M Leon got up and walked around Ponyville. He went to a local bridge after about 15 minutes of walking and just leaned over and watched his reflection in the water. Rarity just happened to be up and about herself and deceided to sneak up behind him and attempt to spook him.
“Boo!”
Leon turned around to see the familiar white mare he saw earlier obviously trying to get a rise out of him. He didn’t shudder or even show an ounce that he was shocked or surprised at all.
“…..why are you here?....” Leon asked
“well….. –clears throat- I was just taking a break from making a marvelous dress I am close to finished making and…..well I saw you and…I wanted to try again….talking with you…you know….
Leon stays silent.
“why do you act so shy? You are just afraid to meet others? is that it?"
Leon ignores her.
“Leon please! Will you just talk?
“do you have something important to talk about?” he asked.
“ooohh cant you just pretend to have a heart?” she asked
Leon continues to gaze into the water.
“well you really enjoy being by yourself it seems..... I will go to sleep and finish my project in the morning….suppose you get some rest to?” she asked.
“don’t worry about me….” He said. “ill do what i do whenever”
“alright then… good night darling”
Leon thinks to himself “what is with this white mare? i think she has just got the hots for me..... Im not even sure why to be honest"
After Rarity left Leon decided to go get some rest for tomorrow and went back to the hotel to do that.
Now with the sun shining and it being a nice day in Equestria, everypony was doing all sorts of things normally as a society generally runs. Someponys always doing something. Leon woke up and ate a few apples before leaving his hotel room. Once he was out and about he went to the local musician store Hoofin Narty Musical Marty. Leon had a feeling that it was not the most ideal music shop but he went in to see what they had for stock.
While Leon was doing some shopping the other ponies had their daily activities as well.
“Spike! Spike!” Twilight shouted.
Twilight was at her golden oaks home or also known as the library.
“yes twilight?” spike replied as he came running to her attention.
“Isn’t winter coming soon?” she asked.
“umm…lets see here…”
Spike pulls out a calendar and checks the date
“it is…….november 26th so yeah….december’s right around the corner.
“only a few days left up until the month when snowfall comes” she said
“well im going out… Spike hold the fort until I come back”
“ok you can count on me” he promised her.
Twilight just wandered around ponyville and at some point met with rarity just like yesterday. They greeted each other and both thought they should go see what fluttershy was up to. They both went over to her cottage and knocked to see if she was there. It took moments but after that quick period of time she answered and said hey.
“How are you doing fluttershy?” both twilight and rarity asked.
“I’m doing fine…..just fine…..um do you girls want a cup of tea or something to refresh yourselves? Surely the walk must have made you somewhat parched.
Rarity and twilight agreed to come over and hang out for a bit and share a cup of tea with fluttershy. They talked about how their normal lives are going which is generally good with some issues, but rarity wanted to share a particular piece that she was thinking about.
“So girls…. That pony we sorta met yesterday….i met him last night while I was out strolling around….and well….. I feel like I wanna be close friends with him…..somehow….”rarity explained.
“oh Leon right?” Fluttershy asked.
“yes he was an interesting character wasn’t he?” twilight asked.
“well I do understand he seems a bit rough around the edges including the surface, but there has to be a soft spot somewhere deep inside of him. I’m sure of it”
“that may be…though he’s seems pretty content with being an introvert that is clear as day” fluttershy said. I know shy when I see it. Fluttershy smiles -squee-
Well……his cutie mark is that of a piano…..maybe he has refined tastes like Octavia? Or perhaps closer to that of DJ-pon-3?.... we enjoy doing our own songs do we not girls? Rarity asked.
Well we all have had our own song….mine being I Have To Find A Way and that was a quick and emotional song… twilight said.
“mine was So Many Wonders and that was years ago but there have been others… fluttershy said.
I have done a few myself though I shall mention the one when you girls were getting your dresses for the gala just 2 months ago. The Art Of The Dress. Rarity said.
Hmmm….none of us are well accustomed to ponys who don’t want help and this one doesn’t really live up to the values that ive learned here in ponyville. Twilight said.
“that doesn’t mean he cant though…” fluttershy said.
“fluttershy is right! I mean after all if discord was able to be reformed to being good then I don’t see how its impossible to get him to come out of his shell. And speaking of discord….-sighs- my poor dress…” rarity said.
Twilight and fluttershy both agreed. They both had to admit that they wanted to befriend the new pony just as much as rarity did. The only problem was that he seemed pretty difficult to break any barriers with. It’s like he said first impressions can really matter.
“well fluttershy…thank you for your hospitality but I feel like I should be going” twilight said.
“ok then… see you around twilight” fluttershy responded
Fluttershy and rarity both waves their hooves goodbye towards twilight.
“well I suppose we will see what we can come up with and go from there rarity said.
“well maybe since he’s into music I think a musical would do just fine personally…” fluttershy said.
“and that’s just it. We can only just assume what might get him to warm up to us” rarity responded. I swear its like when I went to the gala for blueblood its like how I felt for him, but he just seems different. also music must be in his soul though he’s just not expressing it” Rarity said.
“well maybe winter wrap up would do?” fluttershy suggested.
“it depends if he’s even staying for awhile… I still don’t really know why he came here in the first place perhaps just to visit? Winter Wrap Up is still a month away. We will need to brainstorm a bit more perhaps and come to a final conclusion. Talking would work and we can keep attempting but maybe not much progress is sure to be. Anyhow though….thank you for the cup of tea fluttershy it was perfect” rarity said and then smiled. “but I must get back to the carousel and finish up a few orders I promised to have done by sunset for a client”
“ok bye rarity” fluttershy said. “ill see you later…”
Rarity said good bye and then left fluttershys cottage.

While the mares went along with their day, Leon was still in the shop trying to figure if he wanted anything inside.
“You have anything special for sale right now?” Leon asked the shopkeeper.
“Darn tootin we do, we gots banjos and bottles for 15 bits a piece original price 45 bits.
“nothing cheaper then that huh?...... any valuable merchandise then?” he asked
“well we do got this ere geetar for sale made completely outta cedar wood for 95 bits.” The shopkeeper told Leon. Leon decided to purchase the guitar. He could add it to his collection. After he purchased the guitar he went to the park and sat on a bench alone for awhile. After about 15 minutes of just sitting around by himself, he began to feel numb from sitting so he deceided to get up and walk around to get the blood pumping again. He began to start singing thinking he was alone though he was unaware that Rarity was spying on him. The song he was singing was “Angels”
“ive been sleeping with the nightlight unplugged….when a note on the rocking chair… that says im dreaming of the life I once loved…. So wake me if your out there….” Leon sang softly.
Leon teared up a little bit because of the way music moves him. Its almost as if music literally had a voice and just relinquished all sorrow and pain and allows him to feel nothing but happiness and joy pours into his very being. Rarity came out of the bushes she was hiding behind after folding up her therapist chair she was laying on and started Leons way. Leon was walking opposite of Raritys direction and didn’t notice she was coming.
“you have a really nice voice” she said
“whatever” he said back.
“you enjoy singing don’t you? It is what your cutie mark represents after all, right?
“well I suppose you figured out quite a mystery…” he said insultingly
“you don’t have to hide your feelings from me you know” she said “ you can keep singing if you like” Rarity said as she got closer to Leon.
Leon responded ”what are you.... doing?”
“why comforting you of course” Rarity said. She was hugging him like a snuggle buddy. Leon felt as though he couldn’t really hurt her and didn’t want to. This actually felt…..comforting like she said she was doing for him. He felt good about just a hug…..how strange…for him anyhow. He just hugged back and held Rarity in his hooves. They both were quiet for about a minute. Then Rarity said “there! Was that so bad?”
“…..It was nice….” Leon said.
“I knew there was something more about you” she said
Leon remained quiet.
“Tch tch….you are just so difficult”
“Sorry…its just….been so long since I’ve ever even had an idea to allow somepony to talk with me. Be allowed to have a conversation as well.
“I personally feel that you have to talk with others sometimes and share how your feeling…like when im making dresses I always love positive criticism” she told him
“When I’m remixing or creating covers for songs I love publicity” he said to her.
“Well would you want me to make you a surprise outfit for you? I promise it will be most satisfying.
“That would be great” Leon replied.
They both stayed together and took a walk through the park. Enjoying the quiet night the mare and the stallion both talked more about their special talents to each other. Luna was happy as well to see that there were two ponies were enjoying the night as she watched over them as they walked together.
“I really enjoy doing covers….i find making music is difficult…..I can rhyme some lyrics and such….but…. it is really difficult to come up with your own song.” Leon said.
“Well I have songs that have come to me all in good due ordinance just by doing my work” Rarity said.
“That is quite good….. might I hear one of them?” he asked her.
“Hmmm….sure why not?” she replied “ The name of this one is The Type Of Pony Everypony Should Know.
“I’ll be the toast of the town the girl on the go, im the type of pony everypony everypony should know, ill be the one to watch the girl in the flow…. Im the type of pony everypony everypony should know.” Rarity sang. “so… what do you think of that one”
After Rarity finished her song Leon had a smile on his face
“I personally loved it” Leon said. Suppose it’s a bit conceited but…. Your voice is that of an angel. Natural talent is what I enjoy” he said.
Rarity blushed. she was astonished that she was able to be talking to Leon the way she was, expressing her feelings and having him do the same. He was shocked as well that he was able to express himself in a matter that was unlike how he had felt for quite some time. There was a sort of talent show coming up in a couple of days and Leon wanted to join and see what everypony thought of his music or changed music. And it seemed that Rarity wanted to create an outfit for Leon so he would have a fresh new look.
“well hey do you want to go to the carousel with me Leon?”
“why? Isn’t that a shop?…” he replied.
“I own it and work there” she said
“sure I can…” he said.
They both went over to the carousel boutique and felt like it was time for bed. They were both trying to deter exactly how they both can sleep together without it becoming too much. Rarity only had the one bed and Leon was fairly content with sleeping on the ground but Rarity insisted with sharing covers with him. So they wound up going to sleep in the same bed.

When morning arrived once more, Rarity had woken up first. She deceided she would make some breakfast for both Leon and her younger sister, Sweetie Belle. Sweetie Belle and Leon were still asleep so she tried to be fairly quiet and non disruptive as she went downstairs because after all…she does believe in beauty sleep and everypony needs it. She just made a quick veggie salad and made some hand squeezed orange juice then placed the table for 3 ponies. She went back upstairs and awoke her sister first then woke up Leon.
“good morning darling…” she said to Leon
“-yawns- good morning there….oh! and you are... little filly?…” Leon asked the small white coat filly
“I'm Sweetie Belle” Rarity's younger sister said.
“I was unaware that Rarity had a sibling any other related ponies?” Leon asked Rarity
“well there is my father and my mother of course…doesn’t everypony have one?”
“Hmm….well not me…” he said.
“sweetie belle go finish setting up breakfast downstairs would you?”
“ugh! Fine Rarity…” sweetie belle responded irrated.
Once sweetie belle had left rarity continued “Wait…… you don’t have any parents? she asked
“when I was young me and my sister Claire were close…. Real close…. We were like honey is to a bee, me and her were. There wasn’t anything we wouldn’t do together, we flew kites, had races, even baked pies together. She was a musical genius and had a musical cleft and harp as her cutie mark. She sang and created her own songs and everything just came naturally to her. She could find out a way to sing about oranges. Yes life was great even though I was jealous of her I did love her all the same. My flank was bare and I wondered about how my cutie mark was going to look like. Furthermore I was curious as to what it could be. I figured since my sister was musically inclined… then I would have a similar profession along the lines of music, and that gave me faith.
“so wait a second…you and your sister were close….so that means she is….?” Rarity inquired
“she has passed so yes I can’t see her ever again…at least until the afterlife” Leon responded
“I apologize for your loss darling…” Rarity replied
“I have to live with it every day knowing how she died…by me…..” Leon told Rarity
“you killed your sister??!!” Rarity cried out.
“its not like im some phycho killer….it was either me or her….. and I didn’t want it to be me…. I was still young and I could’ve died as well that night but I didn’t…” he said
“so what happened then” Rarity
“ Well on nightmare night years ago when I was younger, everypony was enjoying the night and everything was peachy keen up until a special event happened in my hometown Jetmik. It was a talent show and there were numerous acts on stage before my sister had come up. When my sister’s turn had arrived, She began to play a beautiful tune when ponies started emerging from the ground. Everypony started scrambeling around trying to get to safety because the ponies began feeding on the live ponies turning them into zombies. My sister met up with me and after we ran around for a bit my sister snagged her hoof of a branch. It took me a second to realize what had happened. I ran back to help her but zombies had already got her and she yelled for me to run! So I ran…. and I ran….. and I ran. I hid inside a shack just miles outside of what remained of my town… and I slept over night. In the morning I heard a thump sound like somepony was coming at me and it kept getting closer. And then….my sister appeared around the corner completely zombified. I couldn’t believe it that of all ponies my sister found me! And was going to take me out. So I searched the ground for something to fight back with… I located a ballpoint pen and held it in my right hoof. My sister’s dead body lunged at me and I stabbed her with the pen. Again and again I had to keep hitting her with it… it it…was absolutely terrible….” Leon said
“oh my…..you have quite the story Leon”
“well any how what did you want from me?” asked Leon
“I just made some breakfast…would you like to come down and eat?” Rarity asked
“sure I could use a bite to eat” replied Leon.
They both went downstairs and enjoyed a nice breakfast. After they finished eating Rarity wanted to know if she could try to reintroduce her friends to him once more. He figured he had come off rough and did want to start anew. Sweetie belle asked rarity if she could go see Applebloom to do some more crusading. Rarity said yes, but before she left Leon wanted to ask her a question.
“Wait sweetie belle…”Leon said.
“Oh… yes Leon?” sweetie belle said stopping at the door.
“what do you mean by “crusading?” Leon asked.
Oh , theres this secret society that me, my friend Applebloom, and my other friend Scootaloo make it up and its where we are dedicated to helping all blank flanks find their special talents and get their cutie marks.” Sweetie belle explained.
“oh that’s pretty cool for you to do for each other” Leon replied.
“Anyhoo I’ll see you guys later sweetie belle said as she ran outside”
“well shall we?” rarity asked Leon.
“hmph…..lets go” Leon said with a half smile.
Leon and Rarity both went over to the golden oaks home where Twilight resided in and knocked at the door. Waiting for a good few seconds, her assistant baby dragon, spike opened the door. “hello there rarity I see you have a new friend” he said.
“spike this is Leon…uh…what is your last name anyway?” rarity asked.
“perfectionist” Leon replied.
“Leon….Leon perfectionist.” Rarity said.
“oh nice to meet you” spike said.
Rarity walked on in and as she walked in, Spike said to Leon “better watch out buddy rarity is my girl….”
Leon scoffed.
“is Twilight here Spike? Rarity asked.
“yes she’s just in the bathroom right now” Spike replied.
“well I suppose we just wait then….”Leon said
They waited around for about 5 minutes then they heard a door open and hoofsteps approach down the stairs.
“Oh we have guests? Hello Rarity and….Leon….how good of you to come on over….”twilight said sounding disappointed.
“hello Twilight ”Leon said
“how are you darling? Is something wrong?” Rarity asked Twilight
“well I didn’t anticipate seeing him again but….”Twilight said.
“I came to apologize….for my incompetent behavior.” Leon explained.
“well I suppose its all right I mean you were new after all and I used to be very similar” twilight told Leon. Leon smiled.
“wow he can have a grin on his face! What did you do to him Rarity?! That is so good! Twilight exclaimed.
“ alright, alright, well…. I just….” Rarity started.
“…gave me a comfort I haven’t felt in ages…” Leon finished.
“oh really well that’s cute” twilight responded.
“I think I have feelings for Rarity….. and I think id like to see her and more……. of her friends if I could of course…
“of course you can!” Rarity and Twilight both said in unison” they all laughed in accordinance of felling like they both were seeming telepathic.
“maybe we could go see if Fluttershy wants to hang out?” Leon asked. I think im going to sign up for the talent show and do a cover for “The Real World” by Adam Young and would love to see all of you there to watch me sing it” Leon told both Rarity and Twilight. They both nodded and said they would love to hear it.

They left Twilights library and went back to Fluttershys cottage just like the previous day. Upon arriving, Fluttershy was in her yard feeding some acorns to some chipmunks.
“Hello again Fluttershy” Rarity said “how is your day going?”
“Hello everypony….I’m fine” Fluttershy responded. “Feeding my favorite animals as usual…what brings you here?” she asked
“Well…I was wondering if you wanted to come watch me at the talent show….coming up tomorrow” Leon asked.
“Umm…. sure I don’t see why I wouldn’t….”Fluttershy responded.
Fluttershy offered for them to go into her house and talk inside. They all agreed and went on in.
“So your going to sing what song?” fluttershy asked Leon.
“It’s a cover…for the artist Owl City and im still debating about whether or not I’ll do “The Real World” or “possibly Butterfly Wings.” Leon said. “They’re both so wonderful and soothing”
“Oh great I can’t wait to hear and see whichever song you decide to do” Fluttershy said.
“Well I’ll have it figured out soon…I can do both songs pretty well In my professional opinion…” Leon said.
“ooh that’s right! I need to make you something most fashionable and presentable for your appearance darling….” Rarity said. “I’m going to cut our conversation short and head back to the boutique and get started right away. I’ll see you all later.
Leon,Twilight, and Fluttershy all said goodbye and Rarity left off in a hurry.
“So… how is everypony doing today anyhow?” Twilight asked.
“Im doing alright” Leon said. “im just ready for tomorrow”
“well life isn’t bad for me either” Fluttershy answered.
“that’s good to hear….” Said Twilight. “its important to tell of problems your having and I’ve got nothing major….just that I still have to write a letter to Princess Celestia telling what I’ve learned about friendship”
“I’m warming up to friendship myself” Leon said.
“Well you learned something about friendship haven’t you?” Twilight asked.
“Umm….have i?” he asked.
“You tell me…” Twilight said. Twilight
“ well yes…but what is the meaning of being friends? The true value of being in a friendship? She asked Leon.
“ you get magical powers?” he asked her.
“no silly…friendship is where you look out for each other when they need it and also tell it to them straight when they are wrong. You have to enjoy that persons company as well to feel such immense energy. Friendship truly is magic. Fluttershy explained.
Leon and Twilight were both shocked as to how well she described how friendship truly was. Leon had a suggestion similar to the magic piece of friendship, with just a different subject.
“ You believe in friendship being magic but…..can music be magic as well? I mean… if you have ever done any sort of …. Singing before, surely you must feel the vibe that it gives you” Leon said “but friendship is really important, and I think I realize that now to be honest”
“To answer your first question I personally feel that music is another type of power that emits in a louder way to express how you feel, with more of a entertaining but sincere way” Twilight expressed to him. And furthermore I never thought I needed help from anypony similarly to that of you until I was given an assignment to make friends and be true to them. Being real and not fake is really important.
“I agree with Twilight, music is a different way of expressing your feelings through tune instead of words. And theres nothing worse then not being yourself.” Fluttershy said
“and yes…we are no song artists but we enjoy to sing songs every now and again” Twilight pitched in.
“hmm… that is good to get some feedback on what you two view friendship and music in your opinions… and telling me some good values of a true friend and what its like to be one….i hope I can live up to be the ideal friend…” Leon said.
Fluttershy and Twilight had faith in him. They believed he could do it. after all it only took a simple forced hug from rarity for him to see what you could have or live without. The choice is completely in your hooves as a pony.
“you can do whatever you choose to do, though with every choice there is always an impact, negative or positive but choices are a big part of everything we do we are constantly making choices. Eveypony is” Twilight explained.
“I suppose I need to make smarter choices from now on…” Leon said.
“well nothing you have done is that dumb we just got off on the wrong start…” Twilight said offered a hug.
“hmm…. Sure im optimistic…” Leon said.
Twilight and Leon hugged and felt that a stronger bond had been made. Fluttershy then offered one for Leon. Leon accepted and realized that he never felt so content…
After all was said and done Twilight and Leon said goodbye to Fluttershy and started off to their homes. During the walk they both talked about how it was a good talk and how good of a time they had. They both talked about upcoming times when they could start seeing each other more often. Clearly Rarity and Leon had feelings for each other so…Twilight was just wanting to see more of him as just friends. When the met at the cross pathways they both said goodbye and went home in separate directions.
Leon went back to Rarity’s carousel which I guess he could consider it home since she was very welcoming to him. He went up to the door and knocked. rarity answered him and said” oh come on in dear your positively drenched!”. Leon was so content he forgot to get to shelter fast because it was raining. He was really lost in his own world.
“Here let me get you something to wear to warm you up…” she said
“Just a simple towel shall do just fine…” he said.
“Oh don’t be absurd! Even men need to be pampered all the same as girls do… just let me take care of you….” She said.
“All right then…” he said.
Rarity got a pink robe and slippers because she didn’t have anything more towards male attire for spa treatments. In addition to not having male attire she also just loved this look and the robes because they were so comfy! She got a hoof massager with water in it and set up a comfortable spot on the recliner. She then went back to him and asked him if she could wash his vest. He had no reason to argue. Sure it was very valuable because of sentimental purposes but it did stink like that of a mule. So he handed it over to her and she asked him to follow her. He followed her into a room with a fireplace and soft romantic music playing. The room had candles alight to light up the room. Rarity said I got you these robes….they are my personal favorite….” She said
“I can deal with them im sure….” Leon replied.
Leon put on the robes and then asked “very fasionable huh?”
Rarity laughed then said you look tense, why don’t you relax for a bit on the recliner? I got a little homemade spa for you dear”
Leon smiled then got into the spa treatment and went “oooooohhh…..this is relaxing….”
“isn’t it? You just relax for a while and I’ll show you your new outfit for the performance tomorrow once I finish it and touch it up a bit.
“Rarity….. thank you for such good hospitality….i owe you whatever it is you want….”
“Well….since your offering….” She stopped at the doorway and came back to him. “I want you to close your eyes and be still.” Leon did as she asked and then suddenly felt Rarity’s lips onto his. He was somewhat shocked and yet still enjoyed it. He started kissing back. They both had quite the session for about a minute that seemed like it just wouldn’t end which Leon just enjoyed the feeling. Obviously Rarity must have been enjoying it since she came onto him. Rarity then relinquished her lips from Leon’s and told him she had to get back to work. He said ok then was even more relaxed and felt very strange at the same time. Was he feeling that he was in love with this pony? Or just a hormone spurt perhaps? He wasn’t a young filly or teen anymore, so he wasn’t really sure what to think. He just relaxed and enjoyed the spa treatment. After about 40 minutes Leon felt his hooves getting pruney so he got out of the chair, removed the pink robes and put them on a coat rack. He went out into the hallway and down the stairs to the showroom. Rarity was still working on the dress and was singing a song softly…”
“Stitch by stitch….stitching it together….Leons suit… gotta make sure it looks finer then some roots…. Perhaps a bit of golden loot… to see if it really is a hoot… Laying about the soily ground… seeing that it fits all around…I’m stitching Leons suit…
Leon came up behind her and said “Rarity?”
“oh my!” rarity exclaimed.
“sorry…didn’t mean to startle you…”Leon said apologetically.
“oh no your fine I just didn’t expect you to be here at this moment…” she said
“ I could never get bored of listening to that voice…. But anyway… should I leave? For now at least?” he asked her.
“no no no no no….. your fine… and thank you for saying so…you are most flattering Leon… but anyhow…I wanted to show you your new outfit! Its all done!”
Leon looked at the outfit she had made for him it was a white vest with gold trimmed silk, with a blue shirtsewn into the vest with a gold tie. The pants matched the shirt, casual business formal wear appropriate for quite a flashy and stuck out appearance, and black shiny wing tips for shoes.
“do you like it?” Rarity asked.
“I absolutely love it….its just…..perfect…..” Leon said amazed at the wonderous piece of work he was gazing at.
“I used the rest of my rare hand made golden silk…but its worth the while I believe” Rarity said.
“I personally –yawns- am getting tired….should I sleep on the ground tonight?” Leon asked.
“Och tch….if you really want to…..even if you try ill see to it that you sleep in a proper bed and I have only one right now.
“There is Sweetie Belles bed….” He retorted
“Ooh… its too small...and anyway shes sleeping right now so pffft!” Rarity said. Your stuck with me” she said. Both Leon and Rarity smiled they got into the covers and snuggled up close. “This bed is so much warmer with somepony else in it with me….even with three layers of blankets six layers of sheets two additional padded layers and…well the bedskirts don’t matter but four bedskirt coverings “
“they stared into each others shiny eyes and then Leon gave her a peck on the cheek. She gave him one on the mouth then said good night darling….then closed her eyes trying to drift off to sleep.
“good night…my dear…Rarity Leon said then closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep”

chapter 6 the talent show

The following morning Leon had woken up before Rarity did. He went downstairs and was fairly excited for the talent show today. It seemed more appropriate in his opinion, to call it a concert but still was considered a talent show nonetheless. He wanted to see what his new outfit looked like on him so he changed into it and looked at himself with the mirror in the showroom floor room. Sweetie Belle walked in and said “oh hey there Leon!”
Leon jumped a little bit because that was unexpected, and he was checking himself out in the mirror pretty thoroughly.
“Oh… hey Sweetie belle…” he replied.
“Your looking nice…im assuming Rarity made that?” she asked Leon
“Yes she did and im fairly impressed…” he said. “what are you doing down here so early, early bird?”
“I’m always awake fairly early, so I was going to make you and Rarity some breakfast. She explained.
“How thoughtful” Leon replied. “Seems like both of you like making others food”
Sweetie belle left into the kitchen and Leon got undressed out of his outfit. He was satisfied enough about how he looked in the outfit. He decided to go out for a walk and get some air. He walked for about 10 minutes then came back to the Boutique. Rarity had woken up it seemed because he could hear water running upstairs as he re-entered the house. Also, a smell of burnt food of some sort seemed to fill the air. Leon went into the kitchen to see what Sweetie belle had made for breakfast. She had made eggs bread and orange juice and had it placed on the dining room table….but it was burnt…all of it…including the juice.
“You burnt juice?” Leon thought to himself. “How is that even….?”
“Breakfast…..is served my good stallion” she said.
“umm..sweetie belle…” Leon started.
“yes siree?” she said.
“I can’t… I mean its impossible for me to…..”
Sweetie belle had the puppy dog eyes upon her face and Leon reconsidered what to say.
“I’ll get started on these right away!” he said.
“Tell me how they taste” she said.
Leon sat down and started eating the eggs. They were rockhard and the only possible way to eat them seemed by either swallowing them whole or letting it dissolve in your mouth. Leon chose option number two. After a minute or so his saliva had dissolved enough of the hardened scrambled eggs to choke down. He said ”Delicious….little crispy though”
“Yeah I figured as much….I’ll try to get it right next time, but I feel that its better to overcook then undercook. Sweetie Belle expressed her opinion.
“They’re still good though you did just fine Leon said smiling.
Sweetie Belle left the kitchen and Leon threw up in the garbage bin nearby him. Rarity walked in and said “ oh my….are you ok Leon?”
“Ugh…I’m ok…just need my stomach pumped…wait I already did that” he said.
“Are you sure your alright?” she asked him.
“I’m fine….” He replied.
“Well then what happened?” Rarity asked.
Leon told Rarity about the breakfast and how well Sweetie belle cooked them. Rarity apologized about her sister. Leon told her it was alright and that it was very kind of her. Leon had to prepare for the talent show. It was only a few hours until he had to get on stage and sing… which song did he want to do? He was still trying to determine. Rarity suggested that he get dressed up for it and he did. He went into the changing room and got into his spiffy new clothes. He came out and Rarity said “fabulous darling” Leon thanked her for the compliment and then went out to go get set up for his song.
When he arrived he could see all sorts of people who were here a D.J ,a cello player, a few little fillys,and a few other ponies. Hmm…well this is it…which song to pick? Decisions…decisions…
“He went to the sign up sheet and put his name on it. He was the last participant it seemed since there was already 15 names on the list. He went over to the D.J and told her what song he needed played which after thinking was going to be... Butterfly Wings. He felt that song was going to be one that would be very soothing and cute. He went into the crowd of folks and he located Fluttershy, Twilight and Rarity all together closer to the back. He went through the crowd to meet with them.
“Hey friends!” Leon said
“Hello there Leon, excited? Twilight asked.
“Hi… How are you doing?” Fluttershy asked.
“Hello there again” Rarity said.
“I am excited and feeling great…” Leon replied.
The performance was going to start shortly because they were just about ready to begin so Leon said he will talk more after it was over. Leon went up on the stage and waited for every other pony to have their performances. The acts and music was certainly worthwhile seeing and listening too. The waiting just made Leon more eager to play and sing. Once his turn came up after everypony had shown their things, he grabbed a keyboard and brought it out to the stage. He took a gander at the audience and plugged it in and got it set up. He could hear the 3 ponies he knew cheering him on and so ready to hear the song live. It wasn’t an original song of his and he always has wanted to create his original music, though he felt it was hard enough to learn how others do their music and he just has kept doing covers of other artists so he can still both play music and sing. He began to play on the keyboard and the intro of his song came into play. He made a extended version of the introduction which allowed him to play a bit before he started singing
“Don’t remind me…..that some days I’m a windshield….and other days im just a lucky bug…
I began to sing part of the intro and started to get into it once it picked up.
“so dusty the starlight…..close your eyes and cuddle close to me…. Ill try not to wake you… or make a sound while your dozing off…. But in the night should the high tide sweep me away from you…”
My good friends were rooting for me in the front and I could see them where I was standing. I suppose they moved up and I just didn’t realize they were up front instead of semi back anymore.
“Whenever we leave the ground….and take to the sky…. I’ll smile as im gazing down….cuz ive always wondered why…we wont need feathers to fly…”
The song ended and I got a hoof of applause. I was happy to know that the ponies enjoyed it and wasn’t too bored of my voice. So I went offstage and met with my friends. Then mayor mare had a quick announcement. “Everypony listen up… it’s been another fantastic talent show this year and we have seen some great performances tonight. We want to thank the ponies who participated for showing us some interesting talents and the ponies who were in the audience just remember… its ponies like you who allow stars of the show to shine. This years talent show is now…over! But don’t worry, we are already planning and getting more people signed up for next year with even more interesting acts.
“That song was amazing…you have great vocals” Fluttershy said.
Rarity teared up a bit “Sorry…that was just a pretty song…” she said.
“Very nice performance” Twilight said to Leon.
“Thank you everypony and don’t tear up my darling…” he said to Rarity
“They’re tears of joy, not sorrow” she replied.
“So do you intend on staying around Ponyville a bit longer Leon? Twilight asked.
“How could I leave such great ponies that I met here in Ponyville?” he asked. “of course ill stay”
“well are you going to reside in hotels?” asked Fluttershy.
“umm…” Leon said
“nonsense!” Rarity shouted “he’s always welcome at the Boutique….my home is your home sweetie” she said smiling. Leon smiled back.
“and you can come over to my place anytime you would like” Twilight pitched in.
“same with me” said Fluttershy.
“your all such wonderful friends but I couldn’t possibly impose…” Leon told them.
“oh its no trouble at all for me darling…” said Rarity.
Both Fluttershy and Twilight said basically the same thing. They all started heading home and once again said good bye on the 3 way pathway. Winter wrap up is going to be coming soon “Rarity said…
“And I can’t wait for the snowfall to start falling…”Leon expressed. “There is nothing better then a wintery wonderland… so I’ll enjoy it when it comes…” Leon said.
“It is a pretty fun season…isn’t it?”
“Very much so…” He said.
“Well theres the carousel...” she said. Guess its time for us to go home for now… shall we? Maybe I can teach you a few other things about my special talent over time.” She offered.
“I suppose it is…and perhaps I can teach you a little more about my understanding of music and the magic that it truly is. “Leon said. “if you want of course…”
Rarity said “Of course honey I would love to learn…”
“I still don’t understand why you would want me after my past…. I fail to see why. . Leon said.
“Hmm…its probably because I just enjoy your company….you are a pretty amazing pony Leon… Rarity said then kissed him on the cheek. “you have the voice of an angel as well”
Leon blushed then gave her a kiss. “Alright then, my heart and yours…are one then sweetheart.” Leon said. They hugged each other then held hooves until they got back to the carousel. After that they went on inside and continued life as most everypony in Ponyville would.

i will recap.... THIS IS MY FIRST FANFIC I HAVE EVER MADE... I don't anticipate it to be great but surely this story isn't that bad either....i feel happy with the results personally and admittably enough...yes this story is of my pony in love with both music and rarity... Why? because rarity is the best pony ever and as for my pony... I just had fun making him. And furthermore, owl city's music is amazing. so pony on everypony ^.^
