Chapters I started off to Ponyville which was about 70 miles away from me. I knew it wasn't going to be my easiest walks. I walked with steady pace, my hooves going *Thump Thump Thump Thump* I wasn't in a hurry as I was enjoying the things around me. The sky was a light blue with no clouds and sun shining faithfully into the day. I felt the soft winds blow against me, it was a cool morning about noon and I've got eight hours before the darkness blankets this land. I saw the lake to my right and the fields of an abandoned farm to my left. I looked straight and thought about the job i'd do when I got to Ponyville. Maybe i'd be a baker, or a chef. I was always good with food. But then again I could just study to become something big like a doctor or teacher. The air was filled with the sound of chirping which made me feel secure as the birds know when something is bad. I kept on until I saw a Stallion lying on the ground I wasn't sure if he was alive, until he coughed and said " Help me..."
I picked him up on his feet and then he said " Thank you, friend." " Uh hu." I answered. " What happened here?" I asked. " Some stallions came and robbed me and now I have nothing." At this moment I felt bad for him and was willing to take him with me. "Well i'm heading to Ponyville you want to come?" I asked. "That'd be great, thanks" He responded. We started walking on the road, and I wondered what would've happened if I wasn't there. I knew this would be a good idea. He would be able to help me when I need it. I've walked about 30 miles now, and moonlight was falling upon the land, covering the mountains and the plains with a shining white light. It was a full moon tonight. It was time to rest for a bit. So me and my friend pitched a tent and he slept on one side I slept on the other. Almost there I thought even though I knew I wasn't even half way there.
"...Ayato..." "...Ayato..." There it was the voices again... I knew it was the nightmare that happens every night... This time I will conquer it.
" Remember what you have done?..." " You caused all of the tragedy, loss, sadness...." Well there I was in a shadow like canyon with dark purple jagged walls on each side and behind me. The same nightmare each night. " It's your fault..." " You can't change...." Those voices attacking my mind felt like hard stabs into my soul as I knew some of these were true. My vision was blurry and crossed eyed. It was dark and foggy, Then I saw shadowy figures... of my friends. " Why...." "Why did you do this..." They echoed. " We trusted you..." Their voices pained me but I stood strong. They disappeared and I kept walking. I stopped at a shadowy of my parents. " My son..." "Why have you done this to us...." My dad murmured. " These innocent people... all gone...." Hearing their voices almost made me fall but I had to keep going. They faded away. I knew this nightmare was trying to guilt me and keep me away from my destination. Then the hardest of all appeared. Fillies
I saw a blue filly with pink hair with big eyes staring at me. When those giant eyes looked at me it sent a knife through my heart. I fell to the ground. "Why did you do it mister?" That sentence finally knocked me down on my stomach. I was thriving in pain. Then another filly appeared. An yellow coat with yellow hair. It stared into to me like the last one with so much passion it blasted me at a wall. My back bleeding and broke. I had to get up and face it. I walked toward and closed my eyes. " Mister why are you doing this?" That voice did it, forcing my eyes open I saw a Gray mane with black hair. This particular filly had been my friends child and I used to play with him all the time. The area around me faded and then I saw the house we used to play in. It was calm and clean, but something flashed and it was the picture of the same room except covered in blood and darkness everything was messed up and nothing was happy. Then it flashed back to the clean room. After seeing that room the clean had a more eerie look to it as it was so perfect. Then The two rooms flashed second after second. I could only yell one word." STOP!" I yelled. Then I was back in the canyon.
I had never been this far. The fake pain or the scariness of the area usually woke me up but this time I wanted to conquer it. I kept walking and then I saw the burning town where I had just left. My home, everyone's homes, everything was burning and being destroyed. The sight pained me and the flames rose the temperature over 90 degrees. I felt like passing out right there but I couldn't. Next I saw the people being brutally mutilated. I saw limbs coming off, decapitation, and people being chopped in half. This made me want to puke and just stop and turn around, but I knew this would never end with me wanting it to. I saw everything being ruined and horrid images everywhere. I made it of that place, just to make it to a sword inside of a stone pillar. The sword mas shining like silver, and it had been the thing I needed to defeat this nightmare, but as I was going toward to it. The two stallions I left at the town hall appeared. Except they were bigger and had glowing red eyes. I had to fight or lose trying. They ran toward me and I ran toward the sword. The one on my right swung at at me and pushed into a wall. I fell to the ground and he was about to step on me. Then I rolled to my left to avoid that. I kicked the one the right onto the ground he disappeared and the other one tried to smash me with his hoof. I ran right, and bucked him in the back. He fell right down on the ground. I started toward the sword and pulled on it. It didn't budge. I pulled on it again. Nothing. No...no this can't be the end! I have to finish this nightmare! As I said that I pulled one last time. The sword came right out, and the doors in front of me opened. I saw my self holding a dark sword with shadows coming off of it. I had to fight... fight myself.
I knew this would be the end of these nightmares. Right now. I lunged at him with the sword and he struck at me when I got close making a large cut in my body. He laughed at me and sliced me again. The white hot pain inside my side felt even worse when the large piece of metal ripping through my flesh. I got up and held the sword in front of me and stared him in the eye. He lunged at me but I blocked the piece of metal with my own. Him readying an attack. He swung low going for my legs I quickly backed up and dodged it. He was still recovering from that attack and was vulnerable. So I swung at his back cutting him and him showing his spine him backing up. He hung his head down. I knew he was giving himself up. I swung at his head going to kill him. Then he quickly backed his head up. Stabbing me in the stomach. I was awake now knowing I had failed. So close.
"..... I can't live like this..." said Ayato " Not any more..." " I have to leave before they find me..." I hazily fell back to sleep with the words " Leave now" in my mind. All of my friends... gone. The place I use to live... gone. I went and ruined for everyone just because of my...my... Then I was finally sleeping not knowing what I was going to do tomorrow, but something told me " Things will change."
Finally awake. I saw the sun pour out of window as if today was actually going to be a happy day. My arm which I had been sleeping on was numb and lifeless, like the souls of my dear friends now. I walked to the door and clenched the knob softly, awaiting the sight I was about to see. As I opened the door the wind blew on me. It felt nice, I haven't felt something nice in a while. I saw the remains of the town where I, my friends, and strangers would go about life. Until... what I did. I knew no one was left. Except me. I walked out and the broken glass, and wood scattered across the dirt only filled with the bodies of innocent ponies. Debris littered the street I walked through. They were burnt, smashed, and splattered with blood. I knew it was all very wrong. This town, it used to be alive... until I killed it.
I saw the stores, the wagons, the farm, and the homes. All lifeless and gray. I felt my stomach grumble, I just realized I hadn't eaten anything for two days. I walked to the nearest bakery and searched for bread. I saw sugary sweets all over. These we're all my favorites, the baker knew that and always had some in stock. Now he's gone. All because of me. I found the bread but the only kind was sourdough. Not my favorite but I am so hungry it doesn't matter. I Grabbed out a big piece of the fluffy part and put it in my mouth. It was delicious. I'm not sure if I liked because I was so hungry or I just had started liking it. Well now nothing was stopping me from just leaving. Yeah leave. That's what i'll do. It was clear in my mind that I need to continue life normally. But if the same thing happens where I ever I go, i'll...i'll... I won't I promise I won't.
Now I know. Know I know! Know I know!! I must head to the nearest town and restart my life, find a job, and finally live like I used to! That's the only way to stop me from doing... this. I started towards to the town hall to find a map. Then it figures i'd run into someone. "Hey where do you think your going little pony?" The stallion said. "I was just looking for a map..." I answered "Not in this life!" He yelled. He started right after me with his hoof going straight for my cheek, knocking me down. I promised i'd never hurt anyone again, but this guy is asking for it. So I bucked him in the stomach knocking him down. He lunged a piece of glass at me. I dodged it and grabbed a piece of wood, and I ran it straight down his neck. He screamed in pain. This particular sight made me a little sorry for him. He was bleeding all the down his neck. Now, back on my way.
I was at the steps of the town hall I saw blood running down the stairs. I knew someone else is here, and they're probably more mean then the last one. I quietly walked inside nothing but bodies and debris, but that wasn't long. One stallion in front of me and one behind me. This time it wasn't going to be so easy for me to fight both of these stallions. I ran at the in front of me knowing the one behind me would chase. I quickly bolted left as soon as I was in front of the mare. Causing both of them to collide. They stumbled to the floor lifting dust in the air. In the mess I quickly grabbed a map and ran out the door locking it behind me to slow them down. I ran down the nearest alley to escape them. I finally sat down by a broken down cart and checked the map. It was torn and had a blood stain on it. It looked pretty and decorated, yet it was covered in dust. The closest place is a little town east from here called... Ponyville.
I pulled my self together and thought about the trip. I'd need food, water, and temporary shelter to cover my self. I was actually scared, i'd never left town and I wondered what would happen out there. I walked around town looking for the bakery to get some food, I found it but nothing was left. The sweets. The bread. All gone. I knew that know the bakery wasn't an option. I headed toward the apple farm. Luckily they had barrels of apples. I never liked apples, but I had to. I picked up a barrel and put it in a near cart. Now water. The lake was used to dispose of bodies so I scavenged the houses for water bottles. I'd found seven bottles. That would be good but i'd have to ration. So I grabbed a tent from my house, and was at the edge of town. The pale dirt road in front of me was lined with trees and grass. It was like walking down a wedding aisle.
I stood there and thought "Time to go."
It was morning and the other stallion was awake. He was just standing watching the road. I didn't want to disturb him, so I started pitching the tent. He turned around "Hey good morning!" He called to me. "Good morning." I answered. I ate a few apples and drank a bottle of water. I put the tent away in the cart. "So what are you looking at?" I asked him? "Oh just the road, I was looking to see if we could find any shortcuts." He answered. "Oh that's good." I said. I hooked my self up to the cart and we started walking. I could see beautiful mountains covered with white caps. They were green with the autumn leaves showing their colors. The green grass and the scent of flowers made me feel happy. I knew I was on the right track to become who I used to be.
We were about 10 miles from Ponyville and I was now feeling more scared then happy now. I was scared what the other ponies would think. I was scared of what people thought of me. "Have you ever been to Ponyville?" I asked the stallion.
"Nope. It's my first time. i'm looking for a job." He said "Yeah. Me too." I said. This stallion didn't seem scared at all. Maybe I should be more like him. I should be happy and optimistic about things. I have to just keep looking forward to all the good things that could happen. I could see Ponyville now. They had different houses from my town. They looked like they had yellow walls and brown roofs. They kind of had a medieval look. I kept walking, my legs almost shaking from shyness. I knew I had nothing to be shy about, yet I still was. Finally I approached the town and stopped. "Well thanks for walking with me." The stallion said. "Uh hu." I said. He went left and right. Now. What to do.
I was walking and the next thing I know there is a bright flash of pink in my face making a high pitched squeal sound. "It's one of these kind of ponies." I thought. "Well hello there! it's nice to meet you! What's your name? Oh wait don't tell me! I'll throw a party for you then you can tell me!" She said so quickly I could barely understand. Then she let out another squeal then ran away. "Well so much for any questions." I thought. I saw other stallions and mares. All different colors it was like a rainbow but twice as many colors. I saw a farm where I thought I could find a job. I walked up and a orange mare with blonde hair was in front of me. " Howdy there, i'm Applejack and this is Sweet Apple Acres with the best apples in Equestria."
She said to me. "Um hiya my names Ayato and i'm looking for a job." I told her. "Well you came to the right place. We need someone to harvest apples from the acres. So if you did that that would be mighty fine." She said. " Okay thanks." I answered. After a day of work I told Applejack. Now I had a job, but nowhere to sleep. So I pitched up a tent in the apple acres. I knew. I knew this was the right place for me.
