The Crossroads
Good morning sunshine
Previous ChapterNext ChapterTwilight had only been asleep for a short while when she awoke to yet another knocking at the door.
Twilight let out a yelp before standing up with a sigh. “Ugh, this again?” She makes her way to the door and pulls it open. “Trixie?”
Indeed it is Trixie standing before her but something seems a bit different this time, her cold lifeless stare has been replaced with a warm and inviting gaze.
Twilight looks at her with a puzzled look. “What are you plotting?”
Trixie suddenly springs forward wrapping her arms around her pushing them both back into the library as she presses her lips onto hers.
Twilight takes hold of her shoulders and pushes her gently away giving a very confused look.
Trixie puller herself closer, their breasts now pressed against each other’s, she leans in close to the purple mare’s ear and says in a light whisper “I want your body.”
Twilight’s eyes widen again and she roughly thrusts the mare to the floor. “You just stay away from me!”
Trixie’s lower lip begins to quiver as tears begin to form in her eyes. She curls herself into a ball and begins sobbing to herself.
Twilight looks down at the mare feeling a great deal of guilt. She slowly gets onto the floor and gently strokes the crying mare’s pale blue mane. “D-don’t cry.”
Trixie continues sobbing into her arms. “Tw-Twilight doesn’t love m-me.”
Twilight frowned. “You threatened me with a knife, you aimed to kill me.”
“Not me!” The mare extended a finger pointing across the room. “She.” There sitting in a small cage in the dark corner of the room was yet another Trixie angrily shaking the bars to no avail.
Twilight, now realizing that the spell she had cast yesterday afternoon had taken effect, looked down at the mare lying beneath her. “I…I’m sorry.” She said softly as she gently whipped the tears away from her eyes.
Trixie sat up “S-so you don’t hate me?” she said staring deeply into her eyes.
Twilight wraps her arms around the blue mare. “Of course not.” She says with a smile.
Trixie gently places her hand on Twilight’s cheek and closing her eyes slowly draws her to her lips. Just as Twilight can feel the hot breath of the mare dancing around her lips she is jolted awake by the ringing of the alarm clock.
Twilight jumped and seized the clock in her hand and screams “Why would you wake me up now!” She holds her arm aloft and throws it out the window.
“OUCH! What the… WHO THROWS A CLOCK?”
Twilight got up sticking her head out the window. “Sorry!”
*~*~*
Twilight makes her way down the stairs with a long yawn; she looks over to the kitchen to find Cadence is sitting at the counter with a mug of coffee in her hands.
Twilight stretches making her way to the kitchen and begins to rummage through the cupboards.
Good morning Twilight, did you sleep alright? Trixie has been awful worried lately, something about nightmares.”
Twilight smiled at her, pulling out a box of pancake mix. “I think I have them handled now, thank you.”
“And your pre-wedding jitters? How are they?
Twilight gulped and started to shake slightly. “I…I had forgotten about that until you mentioned it.”
Cadence lets out a giggle. “You act like that’s a bad thing.”
Twilight shakes her head, mixing up the pancake batter. “I just don’t know Cadence, is getting married really the right choice right now?”
Cadence sighs “The only one who can answer that is you.”
Twilight nodded pouring the batter into a skillet on the hot stove. “I…I know. It’s just such a large step.”
“Twilight listen, when I got married it seemed like the entire universe was against it. I mean getting kidnapped, locked away in a cave, replaced and a changeling invasion of canter lot on your wedding day isn’t exactly what I would call a good sign. However I still went through with it, and to this day I don’t regret it… except when he leaves the toilet seat up. ”
Twilight chuckled tending to the pancakes. “You’re right, but honestly I’m scared Cadence.”
“Those are normal feelings, but I’ll tell you one more thing, right now you have somepony who loves and cares for you very much, why do you want to throw that away.”
Twilight smiles to herself. “Yeah…I do.”
“And let’s face it, what will be different? She already lives here; the only difference is if she leaves she’ll leave with half your stuff.”
Twilight started to laugh harder. “Well I suppose that’s true enough” she said with a smile.
“But in all jokes aside, I don’t think you have anything to worry about.”
Twilight nodded “If you say so.” She chuckled to herself again. “I mean it can’t be that bad if you’re able to put up with him.” She gestures to the bedroom.
Cadence chuckles with her “Yes he does keep things interesting.”
Twilight sits down at the counter. “I’m just going to wait for Trixie then.”
Cadence got up and walked toward the guest room. “Well you do that, I’m going to go sleep with your brother.”
Twilight giggles again. “Oh you poor mare.”
Cadence stops at the door for a moment and turns back around. “Umm…Twilight?”
“Hmm?”
“Your hotcakes are burning.” She says slipping through the crack in the door way.”
“AHH!” Twilight jumps up and rushes over to the stove and pulls one of the pancakes off the skillet.
She pounds it against the counter. “Hard as a rock.” She says with a sigh as she throws them out and stars to mix more batter.
Twilight leans against the counter resting her head on the cupboard, the mixing bowl still in her hands. “Well…maybe it won’t be so bad. Then again…maybe it will. Trixie loves me I know that for sure. But can I honestly say that I love her.” Twilight ponders to herself about what has taken place over the past few days, about all that Trixie had done for her, all the concern she showed, Trixie’s feelings for her, not to mention the dream she had had only the night before. She couldn't deny she had developed feelings for Trixie, but if she was truly in love she could not guess. However she was quickly struck out of her train of thought as the door opened.
