I just want to say that if you're looking for some sort of explanation or reason, there just isn't one...or, I just can't think of one. I remember when the world went to hell not too long ago, and I was asked to tell the story. Now, I was in front of a bunch of historians, so I had to be specific and very detailed...wouldn't want to give the next generation a pack of lies, would we?

I suppose it started with a spark of thought. A stallion thought that evil shouldn't exist at all, and that a perfect world could be created. First, he had to deduce that all evils are created from the Seven Deadly Sins...and it made sense. Nightmare Moon was filled with jealousy and envy of her older sister. Discord had a greed for chaos, and he lusted a bit over it too. Chrysalis needs no further explanation...just lust. Sombra had wrath and greed in him...do you see the picture?

Anyway, this stallion thought that maybe he could find a way to send these deadly sins back to hell where they belong. No evil, no crime...just perfection. He found a way to do so, by releasing the mare who had accidentally released them; Pondora. This was no easy feat, because to release her, you had to use the Sins. And how do you do that?

You have to take them into your body.

But that's what this stallion did. He took worthy candidates, and gave them each a Sin. Including one for himself. Seven candidates. Seven Sins. Two ponies, a mule, a changeling, a doe, a baby dragon, and a diamond dog. One of these Archfiends (That's what they called a pony who took a Sin into his or her body) was my brother...and I still have no idea why he was picked.

So, the stallion took this group, and marched straight over to Canterlot, hoping to gather some help from the Princesses. They were attacked...or more, they attacked first. Twilight, armed with the closeness of her friends and the magical Elements, confronted the Archfiends. What was once an attempt at a discussion became an argue.

This argue became a fight.

This fight became a battle.

This battle became a war.

But this battle was won, to much horrors, to the Archfiends. There's lots of rumors going around about how they killed them or what they did to the bodies, but I know the truth. They plucked the inferiors to their deaths, one by one. They killed Twilight not using sword nor magic. They used their Sins.

Twilight was corrupted to the point of total destruction.

They respectfully buried the bodies in a special area in the cemetery, and spread word to their families by mail. I like to think of how weird it is to just write down what you did to a family member and then send it to that pony's mother, or father, or guardian.

I feel glad I was certainly not the only one thinking the Archfiends had gone mental.

Anyway, it didn't stop there. They continued to march, now knowing that they had become the enemy. But they cared not that they were true fiends. They each wanted to free the maiden to end evil once and for all. And they accepted their fate that they too would be eradicated from the savior.

They confronted Celestia herself, and told her what they wished to do. But the alicorn would not take any of this. It's hard to reason with someone after you killed their friends. Again, the Archfiends prepared to fight against the almighty sun deity...but that stallion had other plans. He once again released the sins onto Celestia, and slowly corrupted her.

She didn't go out like Twilight did. In fact, Celestia was ended much quicker. She was left weakened and drained by the overpowering emotion the Sins left, and the stallion, the Archfiend of Envy, unsheathed his sword and whispered, "It's over."

And then he cut her.

Luna's perishing moments were for the worse. She did not resist anything they did. She took it slowly and painfully before she died.

After capturing Canterlot's castle, they deduced that just about anyone standing in their way was an enemy. All enemies should be killed, but not as slowly as the others. Just the quickest death one could manage, they suggested. They didn't exactly recruit, they forced, and it was pretty easy too.

First the Archfiends had to give the citizens of a town or city nothing to live for by destroying what they could of their dreams. Then they demolish about 90% of the citizen's hometown, giving them nowhere to live. Finally, they must strike fear into the hearts of their slaves to make them serve. Serve or die.

But most agreed that dying was a gift.

Have you ever heard of the Yin-Yang Theory (also called the Dyn Theory)? According to it, for every evil, there is good. The vice-versa effect applies too. And naturally, we came. Some of us actually came from other worlds. Worlds that did not have any Archfiends. I pity each and every soul having to be taken from their homes to be dragged into a war. But our main question is the most common.

Who created the portals that sent us here?

I'm thinking it was a rumor, but most suggest that Celestia opened up the portals before she died.

I'm thinking that Celestia has a mind ready to put everyone in a rage.

The Heroes started out as a tiny little rebellion consisting of only two ponies. Soon, more ponies joined to the cause. When the first pony from another world dropped from a portal, we knew right then, that things were looking good.

Or so we thought.

I am Wisdom, and this is the Crusade of Friendship.

Author's Note

This was something I kept telling my fellow RPers that I'd do. Everyone agreed for the most part, and I think it'll turn out well if I dedicate myself to it. This prologue is just the beginning. There is a whole shit ton of things that go on.

Turns out, you can join us! All you have to do is join our channel #cofrp in the IRC network called PonyChat.

If you join us, and you turn out to be pretty good, you might just end up on this story.
