An Old Friend, Chaos, and Dirty Thoughts (Part two of three)
Previous ChapterNext ChapterYou had never talked to anybody about Tavi before. You never trusted anyone with the knowledge of the only true friendship you ever had. You never talked about the one person you ever truly felt any connection with.
The one person you ever loved.
So why were you so open to Rarity like that? How did she get you to open up like that? Why did you just let your pent up emotions spill out like that?
You were walking back to the library from the boutique and getting plenty of stares from the ponies going about their usual day. The sun was at the peak of it's journey in the sky, so you figured it to be about noon. "That is if the sun works like it does back home, aside from the obvious difference," you quietly said to yourself.
"You know, only crazy ponies talk to themselves." A voice said from right behind you, causing you to nearly jump out of your own skin. "Jesus Christ!" You yelled in surprise. After checking your neck for a pulse, you turned around to see Lyra having a hard time holding in her laughter.
"That wasn't funny," you said in an embarrassed tone.
"Oh, I beg to differ," she replied, still trying to hide her giggles.
"So, what are you doing out here all by your lonesome?" She asked, noticing your distraught expression.
"Well I was just picking up some new clothes from the Carousel Boutique. I'm going to go meet Princess Celestia here in a few hours, so I needed something else to wear other than the filthy garb I have on now," you explained as you started walking again.
"Hmm . . . Something on your mind?" She asked, picking up her pace behind you.
"Is it that obvious?"
"Well, your downcast expression would lead some to believe that you are upset," she replied. You gave her a quizzical look in return. "What?"
"I-It's nothing," you say, looking back at the ground.
"Come on. I'm your friend, you can talk to me. Who knows, I might be able to help," Lyra said with a smile.
'Really? She considers me a friend?
"Let's just say that I miss a friend. A really good friend," you replied.
The two of you walked back to the library in complete silence until you reached the front door. You were about to walk in when Lyra asked, "Hey, you said that you were going up to Canterlot later, right?".
"Yeah. Why do you ask?" You questioned.
"Well, I am also heading up there to visit a couple friends and I figured I could introduce you to them. If that's okay with you," she replied.
You pondered this. You were honestly surprised that everypony so far had accepted you so quickly. You didn't know if Canterlot ponies would be as accepting of you. "I don't know Lyra. Aren't The ponies in Canterlot really high class and snooty?" You asked.
"Typically yes, but not these ponies. I'm sure you all will get along just fine," she assured you.
"If you think so, I guess I could meet them," you told her. You got a very audible sequel of joy and a little hop/dance thing as a reply. After she calmed down she handed you a slip of paper with what appeared to be an address on it.
"Just go there after your meeting with the Princess. My friends and I will be there practicing our music," she said as your eyes scanned the slip of paper.
"Umm. . . Okay I'll be there, but I have one question," you said.
"What's up?"
"Does Equestria have guitars?"
"Electrical, acoustic, bass-" She started, but you silenced her by holding up your hand.
"That is all I need to know," you said with a smirk. She nodded and gave a huge grin. "I'll make sure to grab an acoustic guitar just for you."
"That's great Lyra! It's been too long since I've played. This is going to be so much fun," you said ecstatically.
'Wow. I can't believe they have guitars here, but they do have other string instruments, so I guess it makes sense. I has been too long since I played with anybody last. The last person I played with was Tav-' You cut that train of thought short. You hated thinking about her. It just hurt too much.
"You okay?" Lyra asked, snapping you back to the real world.
"Huh? . . . Yeah I'm fine, just kinda fazed out for a second there. Hey, what are your friends names? I would like to know before hand so I have more of a chance to remember," you said.
"Oh, their names are Vinyl Scratch and O-" She started to say, only to be interrupted by a bright flash of light.
* * * * * * * * *
"Ack, my eyes!" Was all you could say as you tried to rub the spots out of your vision.
"Well I must say, it certainly has been a long time since I've seen a human," a voice said across from you. You tried to get a good look at the owner of the voice, but that was hard to do when all you could see was a bunch of green and purple dots.
With your eyes straining to get a look at them, you asked, "Who are you?.
"Oh, come now Red. You know exactly who I am. You've seen the show," the voice said in a tone one would use to try to explain something to a child.
"What do you mea- oh. That's what you mean," you said as your vision cleared to reveal a tall creature that looked like it was made up of many different animals.
"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Discord," he said while he gave a small bow and flicking down a top-hat that he wasn't wearing the second before.
You just sat there staring at the confusing creature until something hit you. "Wait, you know about the show?"
"Of course I do. And keep your voice down. That evil little creature known as Angel Bunny is napping and I really don't want him woken up. It may not seem like it, but I do enjoy a bit of peace and quiet," he said to you is a hushed voice and pointed to the small green couch that had a sleeping white rabbit of it.
You looked around and noticed little bird houses and tiny pathways lined the ceiling. The pathways were for small rodents by the look of it. You looked down and saw a squirrel holding an acorn. How did I get to Fluttershy's cottage? You thought to yourself.
"That would be my doing," answered Discord with a smile.
"So why did you just tele- wait. . . Don't read my mind please," you requested.
"Why? Does it bother you?" He asked with a hint of joy in his voice.
"Yes, It’s very O-P, but anyways. Why did you bring me here?" You asked with an irritated tone.
"Well if I must justify myself. I was bored. And if you thought that was over powered wait until you see what else I can do. Now back to why I brought you here. Fluttershy mentioned that she had met a human before she left, and I couldn't just pass up the opportunity to see a creature with such chaotic potential!"
That caught you off guard. "What do you mean?"
"You don't know, do you?" He asked a little confused.
"No. I can't say I do," you responded.
"Well then allow me to explain. Humans are different than other beings when it comes to natural abilities. Humans have a chaotic presence about them that sets them apart from everything else. This chaotic presence attributes to most of humanities violent or disorderly nature. This puts them at the top of of whatever food chain they are put in, at least most of the time, and makes them the dominate species," he explained. He looked down at you expectantly after he finished, but when he saw your face, he took on a disappointed look of his own.
"You don't get it yet, do you?" He asked. When you shook your head he gave a disapproving sigh.
"Okay, what if I explain it like this. When your species became dominant over all others on Earth, they began to expand and grow in numbers, did they not?" You nodded your head lightly and he continued. "Soon your species started to spread across the globe and the chaotic presence was spread thin, and the drastic increase in your number didn't help the situation."
"Humans used to be able to manipulate the chaotic presence. I believe they were called wizards or sorcerers, or something like that, but when the presence spread, the ability to manipulate it became harder and harder until it was near impossible to do anything with it at all, and by the time the "New World" was discovered, it was near impossible for anyone to even try to manipulate it, but a few would have the ability and would use this to do great things to help or destroy the world. Examples being Ghaundi and Adolf Hitler.
All you could do is give him a blank stare. "You really are thick headed aren't you?" He asked staring down at you. All you did was give him a innocent smile. "Arrrgh."
"What I am trying to say is that since humans can manipulate a chaotic presence, and I am the only chaotic being on this planet, you have an untold amount of chaotic abilities at the tips of your fingers. You just need to learn how to use them," he explained, crossing his arms at the end.
You looked down at your hands to see if you could spot the chaotic power he went on about. You just had one question.
"Who is going to teach me?" You asked, only to hear a loud smack in response. You look back up at Discord to see his paw covering his face. "Who do you think genius?" He asked sarcastically.
"Oh you. That makes sense," you said as you scratched the back of your head. You were about to ask him another question when you heard a door being opened. You turned around and saw Fluttershy enter through her front door. She let a few animals come through before actually coming in herself. She watched as the little woodland creatures ran around in front of her before looking up at you. You had apparently scared her, because a small poof where she had stood and now she was holding on to one of the rafters for dear life.
"Uh Fluttershy, are you okay?" You ask, wondering how she moved so fast.
"Oh Red it's just you," she said as she floated back down to the ground, still visibly shaking. "If you don't mind me asking, why are you here?" She wondered.
"Oh, Discord here just teleported me here without my consent so he could have a little chat with me," you replied, pointing your thumb back behind you.
Fluttershy gave you a confused look and said, "But Discord isn't here.".
"What are you talking about? He is . . . gone," you replied as you turned around to see he had disappeared.
'Great. Just leave me here and let me make an ass of myself why don't you.
'Good. I thought you would understand! Bye-bye!'
'Gah! Don't do that!'
"Red? Did you hear me?" Asked a quiet voice.
You shook your head and answered, "Sorry, no. What did you say?".
"I said, Twilight is looking for you. The train to Canterlot leaves in half an hour. You'd better hurry," Fluttershy responded.
"Wow, thanks Fluttershy. I owe you one!" You shouted back as you ran past her and back toward Ponyville.
* * * * * * * *
You and Twilight had just barely made it to the train station in time to get on, and she was pretty upset about it.
"I can't believe him!" Twilight yelled.
"It's not like he knew Twilight," you said, trying to calm her down.
"Still. He had no right to just teleport you like that," she replied.
"Trust me I know, but you can't blame him for making sure to tell me about this situation," you tried to assure her, but she still refused to talk about it anymore.
"Twilight?"
". . ."
"Twilight, come on."
". . ."
"You are acting like a foal."
". . ."
You didn't want to resort to this, but you knew she wouldn't be able to resist. "Alright if that is how you are going to be, then I guess I will have to find somepony else to tell all about my completely new and alien heritage. I'm sure you don't want to know about it at all," you say as you start to get up only to be pulled back down by a purple aura.
"Oh no you don't buster. You aren't leaving this seat until you have told me everything there is to know about human culture," she said with fiery determination in her eyes.
And that is what you did the whole eight hour ride there. All you did was explain human history for a couple hours and then explain the internet for the other six. You explained as much as you could to the alicorn without letting her know about "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" or of it's fanbase, which was a lot harder than it sounded.
'I will tell her eventually, but don't think she is ready for that just yet.'
You had just finished telling her about "Tumblr" when the train pulled into the Canterlot train station.
"Darn, looks like we can't talk the internet anymore Twi," you said sarcastically.
"Yes, I know, but after your meeting with the Princess, you are going to tell me more about this "4chan," Twilight responded.
"Actually Twi, I can't. I already told Lyra I would go hangout with her and a few of her friends after the meeting," you told her as you stood up.
"Lyra? How long has she been in Canterlot?" She asked as she too, stood up.
"I've been sitting across from you the entire ride!" Shouted Lyra, scaring Twilight into jumping up and latching onto your arm.
"Whoa there Princess Scardypants, I'm sure Lyra means you no harm," you said as you and Lyra tried to hold in your laughter.
"Hehehe, very funny. Come on Red we have a schedule to keep," Twilight said as she forcefully pushed you off the train.
"Bye, Red! See ya at the the studio!" Lyra called, waving a hoof in the air.
"Yeah, See ya there! Bye!" You waved back with a huge smile plastered on your face as Twilight pushed you along.
Ten minutes later
You and Twilight managed to make it through the gawking and slightly disgusted crowds and made it to the Royal Castle just in time. As you and Twilight approached the huge front doors of the castle, two Pegasi guards extended their wings and blocked your path.
"Um, guards? You do know who I am, right?" Twilight asked.
"Of course we do, your highness, but her highness, Princess Celestia has asked to speak with the human alone," said the guard on the left. "Nopony is allowed in until she has finished speaking with it." The guard on the right finished.
"Um, I would prefer to acknowledged by my name or gender, and not by "It" if you would be so kind," you interjected.
"Oh, please accept our apologies, sir?" The guards said in unison, which kinda creeped you out.
"It's perfectly alright, and you're right. I am a "Sir", so if you please, I would like to get this meeting with the Princess started," you said in your snootiest voice.
"Of course, sir," they both said and they lowered their wings. You walked past them and push upon the large door which opened with surprising ease.
You walked in and the door silently closed behind you. You jumped about a foot in the air when you saw this, because living on Earth caused your brain to assume this was the work of ghosts, but then you quickly dismissed this when you remembered just where you were.
You walked down the large corridor and saw a grey pony staring at you impatiently. "Come along, the Princess doesn't have all day."
You jogged up to the pony and she waved a hoof for you to follow. After several minutes of following the grey pony through a series of confusing corridors until you two reached a door with Celestia's cutie mark on it.
"The Princess is right through this door," she said in an emotionless tone and walked away. She was about ten feet away when she looked back and said in a almost worried tone, "Good luck, you're going to need it.".
'Why would I need luck? And what was with the sudden change of her mood?
You didn't think much of it and pushed open the doors.
'This can't be right.'
'This must be the wrong place.'
'Perhaps I should just-' *SLAM*
You turned around as quickly as humanly possible to see the large doors shut and a tall white alicorn with the sun as her cutie mark and long flowing pink mane and tail filled with sparkles.
'Wait, that's not right. Celestia's mane and tail are filled with multiple colors not just pin- . . .'
"Well, who is this. A total stranger has entered my chambers. Oh whatever shall I do?" She asked in a VERY suggestive tone.
You eyes widened in realization. 'Oh Nonononononononononononononononono!'
"Well, I don't really don't like intruders, so I guess you are going to have to be.......Punished......" She said with an eager lick of her lips.
"Fuck my life....." You said under your breath.
She leaned in real close and whispered in your ear,"Oh, I like the way you think.".
