Equestrian Horizon: The Elements of Chaos
Chapter 4: The Discovery
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe morning felt the same as yesterday. It was quiet. Everypony was sound asleep inside the barn without a single sound resonating from the outside. The doors opened and Applejack walked in. She dumped a bucket of ice cold water on all the six and woke them all up.
“Y’all best be gettin’ up,” She said, “You’re gonna miss the coronation.”
“Coronation,” Said Taylor as he got up, “What coronation?”
“Twilight’s coronation,” Said Applejack in question. How could they not remember?
The rest of the group remained puzzled. What happened yesterday with the demon wore them out to the point they just couldn’t pay attention to the world. And this felt like all to much of them now. Applejack caught them up to speed.
“Yeah Applejack,” Said Brandon, “We kinda got side tracked yesterday. We ended up in the meadow and….
“You should have seen it!!!” Chandler said, “We got to the meadow and a powerful demon came straight out of the ground like an erect chunk of horse meat! I could make stuff blow up, Seth could make the tiny little demon henchmen fight each other, and we could even read each other’s minds.”
“What,” Said Applejack in disbelief, “Are you guys sure ‘bout that?”
“We all saw it AJ,” Said Brandon, “Demons flooded the sky and the ground felt hot. How come you didn’t see it?”
Applejack just stood there. She knew they were all telling the truth but it seemed strange. She was too busy with Twilight putting things back together. The day was bright and sunny, not dark and apocalyptic.
“Look,” she said, “I’ll talk to Princess Celestia and see if she can talk to you guys. But in the meantime we gotta go or we’ll be late. We’ll meet at the Canterlot castle.”
The group was actually excited about this possible meet up. They could finally get some answers as to who they are and to what happened yesterday.
“Welll everypony,” Said Taylor, “Let’s get a move on.”
For the group it was weird to be in Canterlot. Except for Seth. He had learned so much on how to navigate through the city that he pretty much knew every street in it. They made their way to the castle in hopes of probably meeting the girls there. The guys felt fascinated by the city itself. It had life it had wonder. But all of that hailed in comparison to standing infront of the castle. It stood tall with the famous purple and white pattern. The group knew that this was the day they would find out the absolute truth. They had to get up to the throne room. They knew that was where the six would be. They made their way into the castle, but it wasn’t easy. Ponies crowded every inch of the castle to await the coronation of Princess Twilight Sparkle. A guard stood at the front of the doorway into the throne room.
“Alright guys I got this.,” Taylor approached the guard, “Hello good sir. Would you mind letting us through to see the coronation of our friend.”
“Sorry,” replied the guard, “No one gets through without a Royal invitation.”
“Who the fuck gives out invitations within a 12 hour time span over night?” says Hunter
The guard stood there in confusion. This kind of strong language wasn’t really familiar to Equestrians.
“I apologize sir,” said the guard, “But I am under orders from the Princess. No pony gets in or out without and invitation.”
“Is something wrong?” The group turned to see a tall black and blue alicorn standing behind them.
“Princess Luna,” said the guard, “No, nothing’s wrong. I was just telling these six fellas that they couldn’t get in because they don’t have an invitation.”
The princess turned to all of them. “Hello there. Who are you?”
“Uh,” Said Brandon, “Hi I’m Brandon. This is Taylor, Hunter, Michael, Chandler, and Seth.”
“Charmed,” Said the Princess, “So. What are all of you doing here?”
“We came to see the coronation of our friend.” Said Taylor
“And possibly speak with Princess Celestia about a foretold prophecy about the Elements of Chaos.” Said Chandler
Everyone looked at Chandler in anger. As if he wasn’t supposed to add that bit of information. Seth sucker punched him in the face. Luna However had a look of shock mixed with surprise.
Seth needed to make up an excuse at that moment, “But only because we are…… Trying to catch up on our studies. We are students who are trying to find out more about the past and possible future.”
The princess began to catch on. “Really? I thought so, because it’s obvious you all aren’t from around here. What school do you attend?”
“Uh,” Seth was at a loss for words
“We’re from.. Mustang University..?” said Michael
“Is that so?” the princess had a small grin on her face.
“Yes,” said Seth, “But we need help to catch up on our studies. We figured Princess Molestia..”
“Celestia,” Luna corrected
“Right. Celestia, could help us.” Said Seth
Luna giggled, “Well okay then. Well I can get you through, come. Follow me.”
The group followed Luna into the throne room. It was filled with ponies everywhere with Twilight and Celestia standing at the top of the footsteps. The rest of the six were standing on the side of the steps. They went into the crowd and remained there. The coronation went on as told. Twilight was crowned and she went out into the balcony and made her famous friendship speech. The guys met up with the girls after quickly to just say hi and congratulations. But they had to wait back this time. It was time for them to know the truth. They waited for hours in the throne room. The room was now empty. All they had to do is just wait and plan what they were going to say.
After a long time waiting, the doors to the room opened. Through them stepped through a tall alicorn with white coat and a colorful flowing mane. It was Princess Celestia accompanied by the six girls and Luna. Celestia walked up to the throne and stood. Everypony bowed to the majestic princess. All except for Brandon.
Seth glared at him, “Bow.”
Brandon horribly disagreed, “What no way man. There’s no way I’m bowing. I refuse to pledge my loyalty to anyone.”
Brandon received multiple stairs of disapproval from the guys. The princess just smiled.
“You may stand up now,” She said
Everpony rose.
“So from what I hear, you are the Elements of Chaos.” Celestia said
The group looked at each other. And got a look from the six girls to. They were all in shock.
“Applejack told me your story. And my sister Princess Luna told me the story you told her.” She said
Michael stepped forward, “Listen, Princess Celestia the last thing we want to do is cause harm to anyone. We know what the prophecy says. But we don’t want to destroy anything. Well except for Chandler,”
“What up,” Chandler said, “He’s not wrong. I pissed on an ant hill.”
“Well,” The princess said, “I am here to tell you that you don’t know all of the prophecy.”
Everypony stood in confusion.
“The prophecy says that the Elements of Chaos will either be the elements to destroy all of Equestria, or be the elements to usher in a brand new era of prosperity. In the end, it’s all about choice. And from what I’ve heard, you all are following the right path. More or less. But we must find out which spirit each of you represents.”
Celestia used her horn to project six glowing purple circles on the ground.
“Now, would you all step onto a circle?” She said
Each of the guys stepped onto a circle. Instanly the circles lit up in different colors. Hunter’s was green, Chandler’s was red, Michael’s was yellow, Taylor’s was blue, Seth’s was orange, and Brandon’s was black.
“Hunter,” she said, “You represent the unstable unpredictable nature of the first element, Insanity.”
Hunter began to recall his ability to see what his friends were seeing. He couldn’t balance with the several images in his head. This would be something most people would deny. They’d start to question their reality. But it was in hunter’s nature to listen to the voices in his head.
“Chandler, You represent the powerful and chaotic ingredients, to be the Element of Destruction.”
Chandler remembered his destructive nature. How he felt the need to pulverize that ant hill, how he threatened the bartender. Every bit of him knew that his one true purpose in life was to destroy anything that crossed his path.
“Michael, you contain all the deceitful qualities to represent, The Element of Sarcasm”
Michael then began to remember. He remembered how he smarted off with the doctor and even how he began sarcastically angering the demons at the meadow.
“Taylor, You posses the revolution igniting aspects of The Element of Controversy.”
Taylor then began to recall how he was able to turn the demons against their leader.
“Seth, you represent the spark of combat that is The Element of Conflict.”
Seth then remembered how he was able to spark conflicts between the demons. And his common nature to argue with everyone else.
“And Brandon, you represent probably the most mysterious element of all, The Element of Darkness.”
Brandon then recalled. How the darkness enhanced his performance. It made him stronger. But he still had questions. His abilities.
“Wait,” Said Brandon, “I have a question. I understand everyone else’s abilities. But mine felt different. They felt alive. I heard a voice in my head telling me how to use them. What’s that about?”
“Allow me to explain.” Right then and there, Brandon’s shadow materialized into a shadow version of him. Brandon slowly backed away in shock.
“Hello,” it said, “I’m the Shadow Raz. But you can call me Raz. I’m a conjured piece of shadow matter. I can grab any shadow and make it a part of me. And you sir can manipulate it all. As a matter of fact. You’re the only one in the universe who can do that.”
“Impossible,” said Luna, “The Raz is nothing but a myth.”
“That’s what you thought,” said the Raz, “Princess. There are myths in this world that exist. They just haven’t been recognized enough to be real.”
“Regardless,” Interrupted Celestia, “You six are going to have to know more about this world with if you’re going to defend it. Seth, Brandon, Since you two are the only Pegasus ponies, you will both attend flight school.”
“Shit,” Said Brandon, “Just when I thought I got out of school it pulled me back in.”
“Rainbow Dash,” said Celestia, “You will tutor these two.”
“Yes mam,” Said Rainbow Dash, “Oh boy aren’t you two in for an experience.”
“Hunter,Taylor,” Celestia continued, “You two will attend magic school with me and Twilight. And Chandler, Michael, you two will have to go to regular earth pony school with the rest of the fillies in Ponyville.’
Hunter leaned over to them, “Ha! Fags!”
“Well,” the princess said, “The sooner we get started, the better.”
The team got ready to split up and head in different directions. They said their goodbyes and took off. It was just Celestia and Luna in the room now. Celestia walked over to the window with a glum expression on her face.
“Sister,” said Luna, “Is everything okay. You can relax now. We know the elements are good at heart. There’s nothing to worry about.”
“You are right about one thing little sister,” said Celestia, “The elements are of pure soul. But I just fear that a great evil is yet to come.”
