Chapter 6

"Brandon….. Brandon. Wake up!!"

Brandon woke up. The light from the sun beamed on his face and blinded him. He took sometime to take note of his surroundings. Everything was white and fluffy. He noticed he was on what appeared to be a couch. It was soft, bouncy.

"Where am I?" he said

"Oh this is my place," Rainbow Dash appeared right in front of him accompanied by the orange pegasus Scootaloo. Brandon had trouble remembering what had happened the night before. He recalled racing with Rainbow, but that was it. It was strange. This sense of random amnesia had him more worried then confuse. He stood up and regained his balance. He looked at Scootaloo.

"Who are you supposed to be?" Brandon said.

"Oh sorry. I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Scootaloo." She said

"Scootaloo here is what i guess you could call my little sis," Rainbow Dash nudged Scootaloo with her elbow, "I've been seeing if I could teach her how to fly but it's getting kind of hard considering her condition."

Brandon felt a pulsing headache. His mind began to recall memories. But wait. These memories. They couldn't possibly have existed. He saw CloudsDale. He saw a young colt had a strange resemblance to him. The colt had a black mane along with white coat. He saw him with a young filly Rainbow Dash at flight camp. The memory constantly flashed in and out. It was as if it became unfocused but for only brief seconds.

"Come on Night, You know you want to go for it. You've been practically training for this obstacle course all your life." Said the young Rainbow Dash.

It was as if Brandon were watching a movie he could only watch as the memory became unfocused and came back into focus. He saw the young colt look up and say in confidence. "Yeah. I am not wimpin' out this time! I can do this!" He saw himself jump off the cloud platform and fly towards the obstacle course.

Just then The memory came completely out of focus and he collapsed to the ground. He was still conscious. He saw as Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo gathered around him.

"Is he okay?" said Scootaloo

"I don't know. Wait here I'm going to go get Twilight." said Rainbow Dash as she bolted off out of her house.

Brandon's head was throbbing. He saw as the orange pegasus paced around him. It was as if he was trapped inside a brick. He couldn't move a muscle. His eye sight began to blur. As he began to pass out a shadow casted across the room. Scootaloo panicked and hid in a corner. Suddenly a dark figure stood right in front of him. It was his shadow copy, The Raz.

"You know it's pretty hilarious seeing you like this," said The Raz

Brandon found it hard to speak as he struggled for air. "What are you doing here?"

"Brandon, I'm always with you. I am you." said The Raz

"Well," said Brandon, "Why are you here?"

"You look like shit," said The Raz, "But no matter how entertaining it is, it's my job to keep you safe."

"Wait a minute," said Brandon, still attempting to gather air to talk, "You just cussed. How do you know how to do that. I thought no pony knew how to swear around here."

The Raz leaned back on a nearby cloud table, "Simple. I have all your memories and knowledge."

"Well in that case," said Brandon, "What are these random flashes that just popped up."

"Your guess is as good as mine," The Raz quit leaning on the table, "Again, I only know as much as you know. But it does seem strange. Last night the same thing happened to you. Only unlike this time, you totally passed out. It appears that you may have a link to this Night guy. He could be someone that might have a significance to the whole prophecy."

"But," The Raz said, "Enough of this. Let's get you back on your hooves." A powerful surge of black smoke began flowing towards Brandon. The energy rushed through his veins and began helping him up. Brandon began standing up and regaining his strength. In a matter of seconds, he was as good as new.

"How did you do that?" said Brandon,

"Like I said," said the Raz, "My job is to keep you safe. I can heal any type of wound you have."

Scootaloo approached Brandon and The Raz from out of the corner, "That. Was. AWESOME!!"

"It's just one of the many perks of being a supernatural being kid," said The Raz

Just then, Rainbow Dash and Twilight showed up. Both had worried looks on their face.

"Is everything alright?" said Twilight, "Rainbow Dash said you were hurt."

"Well," said Rainbow Dash, "he was. What happened?"

The Raz approached them, "I worked my magic and got him back on his hooves. But someone's got some questions that need answering." The Raz looked at Brandon and disappeared.

The two stood there looking at Brandon.

Brandon sighed, "Who is Night?"

"Excuse me?" said Twilight

"The young pegasus that goes by the name Night. I know Rainbow Dash knew him." said Brandon, "Who is he?"

Twilight spoke"I don't….."

"The name is NightFire. And he's not around anymore. Or at least as far as I know." said Rainbow Dash. Her voice appeared to sound very monotone and depressed.

"What do you mean," said Twilight,

"Me and Night were hanging out one day outside my old house when I lived with me parents. We were little fillies. Way too little. I was a long time away from getting my cutie mark." said Rainbow Dash as her voice began to crack and tears rolled down her eyes, "I told Night, 'Hey chump, you wanna race?'. He was all up for it. So we raced. And you know it was like we couldn't stop no matter what. Well that day there was a scheduled thunder storm. We were caught right in the middle of it. All of a sudden….. Night got hit by a bolt of lightning. And just like that, he disappeared."

"You never told us about this," said Twilight

"Twi, just because I never talked about it, it doesn't mean it didn't happen," said Rainbow Dash, "I've tried forgot about it over the years but….. It's hard to forget some pony you're close to."

"So I'm taking it that you two were pretty close," said Brandon

"Brandon, Nightfire wasn't just a good friend." Said Rainbow Dash, "He was my brother,"

"Wait What?" said Twilight, "You never told us you had a brother,"

"Rainbow Dash," Scootaloo approached her, " You had a brother? How could you not tell me? I thought you trusted me."

"Scoots it wasn't a trust issue," Rainbow Dash hugged her, "The memory has been hazy for a long time. I at times even forget. It's like my brain has erased it. But something keeps reminding me of key details of it. When NightFire disappeared, it was as if he never existed. When I went to tell my parents, they just looked at me as if I was crazy. There was something though that kept the memory of NightFire alive within me."

"Wait a minute," said Twilight, "So what you're saying is that every pony forgot about your brothers existence? But how's that possible? For one, a bolt of lightning shouldn't make someone disappear. Second, it shouldn't wipe off some pony from existence."

"Twilight," said Scootaloo, "Do you think there might be something at the library that could explain this?"

"I don't know," said Twilight, "There might be. But I'm not so sure."

Just then, Seth flew in. He was winded and shocked. Something bad had happened from the look on his face. He was panting and couldn't get the words out of him.

"Guys," said Seth, "You have to come check this out,"

"What's going on," said Brandon,

"I don't know man," said Seth, "But from the looks of it. It's not good."

Dash looked at Brandon and nodded her head. She looked at Scootaloo. "Scoots, you're staying here. Lock the doors and windows."

"Isn't the whole place made out of cloud?" said Brandon

"Shut up Brandon," said Seth, "Come one we gotta get moving. The others can't hold up forever."

Every pony left the house. Scootaloo stayed behind and turned the Cloud TV on to see what was happening. A broadcast straight from Ponyville was on air. Footage was being shown from the Everfree Forest. From the looks of it, some kind of creature was lurking out it. A dark cloud kept growing and spreading with dark red eyes appearing from the shadows. Whatever was coming. It was big.
