Equestrian Horizon: The Elements of Chaos

Chapter 7

"Chandler," Hunter said as he ran towards Michael and Chandler, "What did you do?"

Hunter had ran to Ponyville, along with Taylor, after having a nightmare that night. His strange telepathic abilities kept growing stronger. At first he could only see blurs of what he thought he was seeing. But now, They were more vivid. They were crystal clear images that perfectly displayed the situation at hand. It was strange to trust these. One would normally think this was nothing but imagination, but Hunter knew this was different. He felt links. Not just to his abilities, but to Equestria and all the ponies around him.

"Nothing," Said Chandler, "I saw some guy come out of the forest and well…"

"As soon as he disappeared this shit started coming out of the forest," Said Michael

"Twilight," Said Hunter, "Do you know what this is?"

A dark veil of black smoke began seeping through the forest trees. The eyes within the smoke appeared and disappeared as quick as lightning. The screams got louder. Twilight looked over at Hunter.

"No," she said, "I've never seen anything like this at all. I don't even know what magic to use right now."

Brandon, Seth, and Rainbow Dash flew in just then. They looked over the Horizon as a dark cloud covered the forest. The shroud was closing in on the edge of the forest. The beasts began to step out.

"What are those things?" Said Rainbow Dash

A powerful wave of demonic creatures broke through the veil and came out into the open. These creatures had a strange resemblance to the creatures that attacked them a few days ago. They were tall, and menacing as they towered on top of the heroes. Brandon looked at one dead in the eye. His headache grew worse and he collapsed back on the ground. The beast saw the opportunity and clawed Brandon and flung his body across the field.

"Brandon!" said Michael as he got hit by one of the demons. He flew against a nearby tree and fell onto the ground. He did his best to recover, but to no avail. The hit he took had disabled him momentarily.

Rainbow Dash charged one of the beasts and knocked it back. But her efforts proved to be futile as another beast pinned her to the ground. Taylor looked at Hunter.

"Hunter," said Taylor, "Spell 25!"

"I still can't pull that one off," said Hunter

"It's worth a shot!" said Taylor

Taylor and Hunter fired to beams of light into the sky that temporarily stunned the army of beasts.

"Quick guys!" said Taylor, "Into the forest!"

"What," said Chandler, "You're fucking out of your mind if you think we're going in there!"

"We gotta lead them away from Ponyville," Taylor said as he charged directly for the forest.

Twilight remained behind as Taylor, Hunter, Chandler and Seth ran into the forest. Twilight looked back at the injured Michael, Brandon, and Rainbow Dash. Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie showed up not too long afterwards in a haste.

"Where are the others," said Rarity

"They went into the forest," said Twilight, "They needed to keep Ponyville safe,"

"Rainbow!" Yelled Pinkie Pie as she went to attend the injured Rainbow Dash

"Fluttershy, Rarity, Go help Michael up," said Applejack, "Twilight, is Brandon alright?"

Twilight looked over at Brandon's discarded body a few feet away. Shocked, she ran towards to attend him. Fluttershy and Rarity helped Michael up.

Fluttershy spoke, "Come on Michael, we have to get you to safety."

Applejack approached Brandon who was unconscious on the ground. Brandon had deep claw marks all across his abdomen which was uncontrollably bleeding. She also noticed a large scar under his eye as well.

"Fluttershy," said Applejack, "Go back to town and get some bandages. We need 'em quick!"

She examined Brandon as he regained consciousness. He moaned.

"I take it you not used to these kind of surprises," mumbled Brandon

Applejack chuckled slightly, "Well, one surprise is good but this is just getting ridiculous."

Brandon's head began to throb. A voice began to resonate in his head. It was the Raz.

"Hey faggot," said the Raz, "When will you stop getting yourself hurt?"

Brandon said nothing. No pony knew about the Raz and he didn't really feel like explaining something he himself didn't completely understand.

"Alright," said the Raz, "This is getting pathetic. I'm not hear to just help you up when you get down. You're the power wielder hear. But you have to harness those powers. Step into the shadows of the forest. You'll see the wonders it can do."

"How am I supposed to do that?" said Brandon

"What sugar cube?" said Applejack

"Applejack," said Brandon, "get me into the forest."

Twilight approached them. "No way Brandon," said Twilight, "You're in no condition to go in there."

"Twilight," said Brandon, "Trust me,"

Applejack picked up Brandon and carried him to the rim of the forest. Rainbow Dash walked up to them.

"Don't get yourself killed," said Rainbow Dash

"No promises," said Brandon

They laid him right at the edge of the forest where the shadows coated him in a shade of night. Just then, Brandon began to feel better a rush of energy and power surged through his entire body. He felt it from his hooves to his head. He felt faster, stronger, and more capable. His coat went from white to a light gray, and his hair changed as well to a silvery gray color. Every injury he had healed, except for the scar on his eye. He was ready. He looked back at the six mares standing out of the forest. He nodded his head and ran into the forest.

Seth was rushing through the forest. The sounds of the creatures who weren't too far behind, echoed through the trees. The shadows of the canopy casted and everlasting night as daylight attempted to breach through the leaves and shine some light. Seth looked behind him to see the shadowy fog close in on him. He stopped and looked back to ready himself.

"Alright!" he said, "Come on! Do your fucking best you satanic shits!"

A large behemoth rose out of the fog. It towered almost reaching the canopy. It's stomach was extended outward and it's bad breath was complimentary to the saliva dripping from his massive under bite. The beast had a thrist for blood from the looks of it. Both of it's eyes were black as night.

"What the……. You're one messed up fucker aren't you?" said Seth

The beast approached him.

"A worthy trophy for the master," said the beast. It's voice sounded very strange. It was as if he had trouble speaking.

Seth backed up as the beast approached him. But an instinct inside him ignited. He had to fight. He readied himself and attacked the beast head on. His attacks were weak considering the beast's massive size, but they bought him some time. The beast swung but it's actions were too slow to hit Seth. The beast took another swing and Seth was on the ground. All it took was one hit. The beast stood on top of him. It reached out its arm to grab him, but just then, a massive explosion went off behind him. The beast was stunned, it couldn't move. Smoke coasted the entire area. Seth attempted to regain his sense of direction, but out of nowhere Chandler sprung out from the smoke.

"You done getting your ass kicked?" said Chandler

"What man? I'm just warming up," Seth said

"Come on" said Chandler, "The rest of the group is this way!"

They left the thick smoke screen and headed towards a nearby river. Not too far behind them was the black fog.

"So do we even know what the fuck we're going up against?" said Chandler

"Not a clue," said Seth, "But some of the creatures look just like the things that attacked us in the meadow."

"Think this has something to do with us being the Elements of Chaos?" said Chandler

"I don't even know man," said Seth

They made it to the river with the fog just a few feet away from them. Hunter and Taylor arrived their as well.

"You guys okay?" said Taylor

"Oh besides the fact that a giant beast almost mutilated me, I'm doing just fine," said Seth

A roar exploded from out of the trees. The fog began to close in on the heroes from every direction. A face began to form from the fog. It looked like that of a skull. It had no eyes and it's teeth were sticking right out. The face approached them as the group began to back up into each other. Two of the behemoths emerged from the smoke and grabbed all four of them.

"Are these the ones?" said the Behemoth

The face examined them. It studied their facial features, their personality. "Yes. Their others will be glad when they see we brought in this group of misfits."

"Fuck you!" said Hunter

The face looked at hime and gave him a creepy skeletal grin. "Watch your tongue. You won't like the consequences for going against yourself."

"What the FUCK are you talking about?" said Chandler

"You'll see," said the face

A voice called from out of the fog, "You know. I'm not a huge fan of surprises. But man do I have one for you." It was Brandon. He was standing outside the smoke. He was barely visible to the rest of the group as most of him was covered by smoke.

"Wow that was terrible," said Taylor,

"Don't kill my moment, fag, I'm saving your life!" Brandon ran towards the smoke. The face charged right at him as well. It opened it's mouth. Brandon rushed as much as he could, but all it took was for the face to open it's mouth and swallow Brandon whole. In a second, he disappeared.

"OHHHHHHH DAMN!" said Hunter

"Well that was anticlimactic." said Taylor

The beast looked back with an evil grin on his face. But that grin quickly turned into a look of uneasiness. It started struggling. It coughed and squirmed as a strange force began to pulsate inside it. Just then a powerful yell was heard, "RAZ! BURST!" A flurry of shadowy dark spikes shot out of the face and destroyed the fog. The creatures were now out in the open and completely exposed. The two beasts that were holding the other four heroes were impaled by the the spikes and fell to the ground. The heroes were now free. Brandon stepped out of the cleared out fog and approached the rest of the group.

"Okay. I can officially say, that was the awesomest thing I've ever done!" said Brandon

"You do know awesomest is not a word right?" said Hunter

"Wait," said Seth, "Guys the abilities. Remember what we pulled of in the meadow?"

"We don't even know how we did that." said Taylor

"Well……." said Chandler," C4 OUT!"

A peace of explosive material generated in Chandler's hooves as he chucked the little package of explosives towards the beasts gathering up on him. The package exploded and sent several of the beasts scattering.

"How'd you do that?" said Seth,

"I just thought of it." said Chandler, "I just visualized C4, and something of the sorts popped into my hooves."

"Alright guys we've been talking way too much!" said Hunter as he charged at the herd of beasts. "BASS CANON!" He slammed his hooves on the ground and all the beasts popped into the air as a powerful shockwave shook the ground and blasted them upward and suspended them in the air.

Seth took the opportunity to attack the monster as they were suspended in mid air. He looked over at the beasts untouched by the shockwave and directed them to attack their suspended comrades. While this happened, Taylor used a magic spell he learned earlier. It was simple yet effective as he manipulated the water from the river and created a water Behemoth.

"Nice one," said Brandon

"Cram studying's always my best tactic." said Taylor

The water behemoth attacked and wiped out the remaining beasts. The forest was clear of all of them now. It was quiet. The forest was calm again.

"Well," said Brandon, "I guess we can check that off as a win."

"I'm not so sure," said Hunter, "That thing was talking about our others. And fighting ourselves. Do you guys know what that could mean?"

Everyone looked at each other confused.

"Guys I think there's a lot more to this world then just sunshine and rainbows." said Taylor

"What do you suggest we do?" said Seth

"Look man. It's obvious that those things aren't just some random fuckers causing havoc. They wan't blood. More importantly, our blood." said Chandler

"Look," said Hunter, "Me and Taylor have to head back to Canterlot tonight. The train doesn't come by until 7:00-ish. Let's stop by Twilight's place and check out what we can find on these things."

"Sounds like a plan," said Taylor

"Alright," said Brandon, "We've got a lot of stuff to investigate. You guys get to searching for more about these guys. I've got something of my own to investigate."

"What exactly will you be investigating?" said Chandler

"Rainbow Dash had a brother. Nightfire. He disappeared a long time ago and no one seems to remember him. I've got a feeling this is more than just a family disappearance. He's got to be some kind of link with what's going on." said Brandon

"What makes you so sure of that?" said Seth

"He disappeared during a freak weather storm. Those things appeared during a freak whether storm. Maybe that's a connection."

"It's a bit far fetched dude," said Hunter

"I know. But I just can't help feeling like I know this Nightfire. I feel compelled to find out more about him."

"Well if you're going to be investigating weather patterns, you should try checking out the Weather Factory. They might have some information worth knowing." said Taylor

"Yeah. Ask Rainbow Dash if she can take you there. She was after all a resident in Cloudsdale." said Chandler

"Speaking of which, I should probably get back to her. She took quite the beating along with Michael." said Brandon

"Yeah," said Taylor, "Come on guys."

The group began to head back to Ponyville with many thoughts on their minds. The sun was still up and the day was bright. They're questions had to be answered. But you know what they say. Curiosity killed the cat.
