Unexpected surprise

My life isn't the best.  First of all I’m not into sports, I'm not social and as an extra bonus, I’m fat. What do you do with your life when you are like this?  Easy, just chill out and enjoy every piece of happiness that you find, that's what I do at least.

AHHHHH A LA MIERDA, this is not me! I’m not like that, but to know me you have to know the basics.

I’m a Venezuelan, born in one of the most happy countries in the world, but it is also one of the most dangerous.  My dad is... well for the sake of my parents I can't put them in this story, (before you ask, yes, I’m going to break the forth wall) but I can say a few things about them.  Both my parents are chefs,  really good ones.  My dad it's also a computer engineer, one of the best in my country.  My mom it's an architect, but she hasn't worked on that in over 15 years. My family is pretty close.

But enough about them.  What you have to know about me it's that I’m 18 years old and I have a special kind of eye that changes color depending on my mood.  It's really weird, so I’m unique or something.  I love listening to music, any kind of music...well, except for the "regueton", it's a kind of music of Latin America and it SUCKS, that’s all I’m going to say about that kind of music.  I like to read epic novels (Lord of the Rings as an example) and I love watching movies at home or a theater, but my most representative feature it's that i like to stay at home, but I’m trying to correct that one. My day to day routine was normal.  In the mornings I have to go to the university, (Don't know if you mean as a student or employee, you might want to clarify that here.) Tuesday and Thursday are Mandarin classes, and the rest of the week I work out a bit every time I can.

Sometimes, I wish my life would change, but I didn’t know that that wish was going to come true.

Well, it was noon and nothing was happening, and I couldn’t be more bored.  All my friends have class in the afternoon and I don’t have any money, so I was just going to spend the afternoon as the lazy ass that I am, and I was just going to go on the internet and disconnect from the world.

I just put my headphones on and found a song on YouTube.

“Ah the sweet sweet sound of the Spanish guitar, it’s just perfect to relax to on a day like this, it makes me feel just like everything is..."

BOOOOOOOMM¡!?¡?!¡?.

I wasn’t able to complete that sentence because a big explotion  sound through my ears and I couldn’t hear the rest of the song.

I panicked and went to see what was going on. I went out of my room expecting to see half of the living room destroyed by the explosion, but everything was normal.

“Hmm let’s see: sofa check, couches check, TV’s check, group of giant anthropomorphic animals chec….”-I had just turned around when I was realized what was I about to say, and that there, standing in the middle of my living room, were two big horse like creatures, one blue with a starry mane, and the other was white with a flame like mane, a big buffalo, a thing that I'm going to guess was a dragon, and a...I don’t know what it is, it seems to be a creature made by a 5 year old child. And then everything went black.

2 hours later

I woke up from the weirdest of dreams, I thought I saw a bunch of creatures that came out of My Little Pony- “jejejeje” I start to laugh.

“Hey, white monkey, why are you laughing, don’t you know that it’s bad manners to laugh at your guests?” - said the dragon being.  Drinking one of the beers of the house (my dad’s, although I have one too on occasion).

“Don’t be rough on the kid Warren, you know very well that the humans aren’t use to “Us”.” Said the white horse with flaming hair.

I stand up and  said, pointing at the dragon called Warren with a very annoyed look on my face, “Well it’s also bad manners to drink your hosts beer when he's passed out, Lizard!" I said adding some poison to the last word.

Warren looked at me with astonishment and then he just start laughing “HAHAHAHA he’s a brave one I reckon that, HAHAHA”.

Then the buffalo put one of his hands on my shoulder and told me, “Sorry for his manners, he’s been like that since he give up his place as God of War of our world.  I am Hoofbeat, ancient god of nature of our world and the first Chief of the buffalo tribes.” He said with a warm smile that gave me some confidence, then the blue horse got close to me and said...

“I am Starnight, ancient god of the moon and night, and this is Sunbeam, my wife and ancient goddess of the sun and  the day”. He said  as he presented his wife, she bow herself and put a warm and very polite smile on her face. Then there was the last creature.

“HIIIII how arya buddy, I'm Eris goddess of chaos….. well ex-goddess of chaos, that's my sons job now.  It’s going to be fun to know you during this experience HIHIHIHIHI”. The funny thing was that when she spoke she sounded like a over energetic girl.

“Well, it’s seems only appropriate that I present myself,” I made a dramatic pose imitating the pose of Starnight and said, “I am Joaquin Andres Tejero Gonzalez, student of enterprise management...annnnd that’s about it...” and the drama was killed.

“Well, thank you for the presentation, but why don’t we start telling you why we are here”, Hoofbeat said seriously.

“Well… first let me call someone if you do not mind,” I said.

“Of course not, it’s your house after all go ahead,” he replied with a small laugh.

“Thank you.”  I went off to my room to find my cell phone and call my dad’s.  The phone start ringing and my dad answered it.

“Hi son whats up?” He said in a serious tone.

“Hi dad. Look, come to the house with mom, there's something really weird going on in here and you wouldn’t believe me if I told you what it is.” I said with worry in my voice.

“Sorry son but we can’t go now,  it’s almost time to open so you have to wait for us, ok?” he said.

My dad and mom have a corner store called “The Hot Corner” we sell different kinds of home made bread and today it’s the only day that I don’t have to help, so as always they put the job before the family.

“Ok dad, I’ll wait here.” I let out a very long sigh.

I hang up the phone and back with my furry companions

“Ok,” I said with  fake enthusiasm “tell me your story.”

Hoofbeat was the only one that had a smile on his face so he just said, “Well it’s pretty simple, we’ve been hearing your wishes at night and we just came to help with them.”

“Yeah we….” He received a stern look from the god and goddess of night and day respectively “I mean, I am getting tired of hearing them so we just came here to take you to our world.”

End of chapter one
