This Day Gone

Zaaaaap. Thud.

"What was that noise?" Twilight asked a royal guard. Twilight was in the royal dining hall when she heard the noise. She had been waiting for princess Celestia to meet her there.

"I don't know." the guard responded.

"Do you know where it came from at least?" Twilight asked.

"Well Celestia went down to the dungeon with Discord and it seemed to come from downstairs...oh no..." Twilight realized that Celestia was in grave danger. Twilight realized it too. It was still a 7 minute run to get to the dungeon. By then Celestia could be wounded severely.

She screeched "Celestia where are you?!" no reply came. The guard looked a Twilight and gave her the slightest of nods. Twilight raced down to the dungeon her hoof steps echoing along.

"Celestia? Are you okay?" Twilight yelled. She saw her body on the ground and stared at it in horror. However she noticed no blood. There was no way she could be dead Twilight thought. She used her magic to pick Celestia up and got her to the medical bay.

"How is she?" Twilight asked the doctor.

"Fine she was just stunned that's all." the doctor replied. Twilight sighed in relief. Celestia got back up after 5 minutes of in the medical bay.

"Where is Discord?" Celestia asked.

"He must have gotten away." Twilight said.

"Shoot! I need to catch him before..." Celestia was going to finish when Twilight cut her off.

"You're going to have to wait on that it's Luna's birthday remember?" Twilight reminded her.

"Just let me send out most of the royal guard to catch Discord." Celestia said. Twilight watched princess Celestia trot over to a royal guard.

"Go get Shining Armor, he should be here sice it's Lunas birthday, and tell him to send squads of soldiers to find Discord. Got that all?" Celestia asked. The royal guard nodded and galloped off. Twilight saw Celestia trot over to her.

"Here follow me so Rarity can get you fixed up in a dress and so i can put my new one on." Twilight said. Celestia agreed so they trotted to Rarity's room. Rarity's room was a pale white rounded room filled with cloth and manequins.

"Hey Rarity!" Twilight said.

"Hello darling. What say we put in that dress I made you?"

"I...um...sure."Twilight agreed. Rarity smiled and threw Twilight into a changing room.

"Hey careful Rarity...ow! Aaaaah!" Twilight yelled as Rarity shoved a dress on her and then they came out in about 10 seconds.

"You just look absolutely gorgeous!" Rarity exclaimed.

"Thank you Rarity, please focus on Celestia right now though." Twilight said.

"Alright." Rarity agreed. Twilight watched as Rarity shoved Celestia in to a changing room and repeated the procedure Rarity had done with Twilight. Twilight felt a twinkle of pride in her heart. Twilight was proud because Celestia had assigned her the task of watching over the entire party.

Twilight was very nervous and very excited, oh how did Pinkie Pie put it oh yeah, "nervacited". Twilight was also dressed up for the occasion in a fancy dress. It was a purple dress filled with gems in the shape of different constellations and what Twilight really liked about the dress was that each gem actually looked like a star. Twilight adored her dress and took pride in wearing it.

She heard Rarity pushed Celestia out of the changing room and say " No it isn't quite you." Twilight smiled and out of the room and called over to Celestia "tell me when you're done!" she heard Celestia say okay so she shut the door behind her and walked down the winding set of stairs leading to the main room of the castle where the party was to be held. She saw Pinkie Pie preparing for the party. Celestia had assigned Pinkie to make and run the party.

Pinkie was setting up games when Twilight came in. It was a huge room filled with red, green, blue, pink, yellow, and orange streamers interlacing each other on top of the ceiling. The tables were round and had pink table tops. She stopped looking around to say hi to Pinkie Pie.

" Hey Pinkie!" Twilight called.

Pinkie Pie turned her head and yelled back " Hey Twilight! Don't you think this is going to be the bestest party ever in all of Equestria, cause I do, do you think there should be pancakes, that would be so super fantastic..." Twilight stopped listening to Pinkie Pie rant on about random stuff.

"Pinkie you should go get a dress from Rarity, after all you have been working so hard on the party." Twilight said.

She exited the room and headed over to the palace kitchens where Applejack was preparing food for the party. Twilight was excited to try a bit of Applejacks food for it was some of the best food she had ever tasted.

"Hey Applejack I'm here to check on food preparations for the party today." Twilight explained.

"Okay Twilight. Here try this darn good tasting bite sized apple fritter." Applejack said. Twilight felt it shoved into her mouth. She chewed and almost instantly delicious favors cascaded over her mouth.

"Delicious!" she managed to exclaim. " Next time I'd appreciate it if the food wasn't shoved in my mouth, however." Twilight said as she swallowed her food.

"Applejack have you made the cake yet?" Twilight asked.

"Almost just have to add Luna's name on it." Applejack replied. Twilight watched as Applejack held the pastry bag in her mouth and put the words happy birthday Luna on it. Suddenly Twilight couldn't see. She saw herself looking in the Everfree forest.

"What am I doing here?" She wailed. All she saw was a changeling. It poked it's head out of the forest. Twilight watched as it turned it's head and attacked her. She screamed, but then it all disappeared.

"What does it mean?" She murmered to herself.

"I think I have to go." Twilight said.

"Why, are you okay Twilight?" Applejack asked.

"Yes, I'm fine. I...just need to check on...um...Fluttershy." Twilight explained.

"Alrighty then sugar cube." Applejack agreed.

Twilight nodded her gratitude and left the kitchen. She thought to herself, it's probably just a bad dream. In her heart though she knew that she couldn't have fallen asleep so quickly and dreamt of the changeling. It usually took her hours to fall asleep. She sighed. Back to work, she thought to herself.

Twilight decided to check on Fluttershy next. She quietly walked down the castle corridors and exited the castle itself when she noticed something. She saw almost all of ponyville gathered in Canterlot. She thought to herself thats a lot of ponies. She swallowed nervously for all she could hear was noise. Ponies chatting about the party filled her mind as she galloped to the garden.

She found herself looking at what she thought was too perfect for reality it was like art. It was covered in all sorts of flowers from Lady Slippers to Violets. It was so colorful, it had every color you could imagine. Red, green, brown, yellow, and so on. It had neatly trimmed bushes and small trees, they were as big as one floor of a pony ville home. It was so beatiful. She saw berries and apples and even pineapples from a rare small pineapple tree. She twisted her neck to find Fluttershy practicing with the birds.

"Fluttershy how goes things?" Twilight asked.

"Great Twilght. Would you come see my birds, i mean if that's okay with you." Fluttershy responded nervously.

"Sure." Twilight said. The purpose of the birds was to give ponies entertainment with their tricks and stunts. Twilight was amazed at how many birds there were. Eagles, hawks, flamingos, all she could imagine of bird kind were there. She watched silently as the birds preformed. Twilight was amazed. They did routines, flips, courses, and more. She watched the flamango roll up in to an oddly shaped ball and roll around.

"Fluttershy this is amazing!" Twilight exclaimed.

"Thanks Twilight." Fluttershy said.

"So are you going to have any other animals preform?" Twilight asked.

"No...I mean if that's okay with you." Fluttershy replied.

"It's perfectly fine I just had to know because Celestia asked me to make sure everything's going alright." Twilight explained.

"Oh okay." Fluttershy said. Twilight realized she had to check on Rainbow Dash and her sonic rainboom.

"Fluttershy I have to go bye!" Fluttershy said something  back that Twilight didn't hear, but she guessed it wasn't to important. Usually what Fluttershy had to say was a question and she didn't really have time for that. Twilight galloped to the back outside portion of the castle to see how Rainbow Dash was doing. The  royal garden had been on the side and was filled with plants and animals the back was the opposite. It had only grass and a pony named Rainbow Dash. Twilight didn't like how plain and desolate it looked, but she could live with it.

"Rainbow Dash how goes the sonic rainboom?" Twilight asked.

"Awesome! This is probably the best rainboom yet!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

"Well don't wear yourself out from all this training." Twilight said.

"Don't sweat about it, I've only practiced a few hours each day for this week." Rainbow Dash replied.

"Are you sure its has been JUST a few hours?" Twilight said as she scowled.

"Maybe." Rainbow Dash said mischeviously.

"Well can I see one of your exercises at least just to make sure you're not over working yourself?" Twilight asked.

"Yeah. Just watch my awesome cloud clearing skills." Rainbow Dash said as she soared into the sky. Twilight watched as Rainbow Dash cleared the clouds and each time Rainbow Dash passed her Twilights hair flew from the wind created by Rainbow Dashs speed. In the end Twilights hair was a complete mess. She saw Rainbow Dash was about to finish the last cloud when she stopped dead in the air. Rainbow Dash made a gasping noise that Twilight could barely hear. She watched Rainbow Dash fly down as quickly as possible.

"Rainbow Dash what's wrong?" Twilight asked. She turned to make Rainbow Dash stare at her eyes and all Twilight saw was fear.

"Twilight we've got a problem."
