" BEEP BEEP " I bounce out of bed and slam my hoof on my Rainbow Dash alarm clock , at the same time flapping my wings to hover as my hoof leaves the multicolored button. I float to my desk, going over my last dream." Just lots of squares, I don't know what that means"
I look up to my poster when I sit down in my hard wood chair. The Wonder bolt poster, light up by glow sticks glued to the edges, stares back at me, Rainbow Dash having the largest grin.
"That's it!!!" I realize the dream from last night! I go off into my mind as to where all these dreams come from. "Time Hoof!" Great, I woke mom up. I quickly scribble down my idea and stick it in my binder.
I gallop to my closet and grab my sky blue mane bow and august it in my hair after thoroughly brushing it. I trot into the kitchen as mom places down 5 muffins on the table. Dad sits at the head of the table just stareing at the garage that holds 'The thing I'm not supposed to see' "Dad, you Ok?" I ask, again curious of my dad's thoughts. " No, I mean, yes, yes I'm fine Timey"
he corrects himself.
I frown as I stress my wings to fly up to my marble dinning chair, I grin reappearing on my face as I realize what KIND of muffins are for breakfast today. " Blueberry! Mom, isn't this the kind of muffins u offered to dad when u met?" I asked mom, who was gathering her mail bag.
" Yes sweetie, now tell Dinky And Sparkler I've gone to work so-" Mother was cut off. " Honey I have to go" Dad said, a sad expression on his face. Mom's face went from happy to sad in an instant.
Dad grabbed his tie and his brown saddlebags and stuffed a couple of muffins in there. "Dad,where are you going?" I asked suspisious of Dad's job once again. Dad went over and hugged me " Bissness trip Sweet Heart, I'll be gone for while"
Dad went over to Mom and wispered something in her ear I caught a couple of words and other things I didn't care about, but one word caught my attention and I made a mental note to right down later.
Dad walked into the garage and all I saw was some blue. " Where is Daddy going Mom?" I asked, thinking I could get an answer from her instead. " Honey, he just has a really big job he has to do." I looked into Mom's crossed eyes and saw she was telling the truth.
I looked at the garage of 'The thing I'm not supposed to see' and heard a loud noise, not loud enough to cover your ears, but loud enough that I could hear it from the kitchen. " What's that Mom?!" Mom looked at me " Just your father's transportation. Now I'm going to work, tell your sisters I'm gone, if they are not up by the time you have to leave for the bus stop, wright them a note and set it at the table"
I nodded as Mom flew out the door, chewing a muffin in the process. I looked over at the garage and decided I AM going to find out where dad is going and what is job is, ONCE AND FOR ALL!
I quickly wrote down the six letter word that caught my attention in Mom and Dad's
Conversation earlier. " Time the bus!" I heard Sparkler yell as I heard the load screch of the bus
breaks as it stopped in front of the house. I stuffed the paper into my bright blue saddle
bags and flew out the door as my sisters wave.
I quickly walked on the bus as I Received what I acpected. " Haha Blank Flank! " I heard the familiar voice yell as the door closes."Leave me alone Orian" I snapped back as I trotted to my normal seat. Just as I was about to slide in, I was shoved onto the floor, landing on my back. I heard the wonderful hoodfsteps
I waited for. "Leave her ALONE!" Gemstone says as she her green arora surronds Orian's tail
And slides him in a seat In the back. "Thank you" I say as I flex my wings in pain.
" Don't worry, now what did he do now? She asked, taking her hoof and raising and lowering
my wings slowly. I flinch. " Its just a bruise, trust me, its nothing. But don't you go
stressing your wings like you normally do." She says. I hug her. Taken back by the surprise, she
flinches, then hugs me back. After we break the embrase, she looks at me dead in the eyes
with her bright green ones. " Ok, whatever is going on, tell me." she says stearnly, seeing
the hint of curiosity in my eyes as I remember what my Father said this morning.
"Uhhhh" I stammer. I wasn't sure I could say this on the bus so I used our code word:
" Asatch" I said which stand for 'After School at the club house' The bus roared to
a stop as all the foals rushed out, not wanting to miss breakfast the school serves.
Gem and Me walk normally through the hall. Surprus Intermediate was
a small school, but way larger then Miss Cheerillee's one room school house.
"So how is 'it' coming?" Gem Stone asks. "I know what its gonna be made of"
I say spreading my wings proudly. The small hint of pain makes me put them back down.
Diamond Tira and Silver Spoon pass us by and shove us against the wall in the process.
Gem's horn starts to glow, but before she could do anything I put my hoof up to stop the magic
flow. "Hey!" She said pushing my hoof away. I shook my head and pointed tword the ceiling at the
new cameras places in the corner. "Oh" she It as hits her.
The clock that ticks on the wall makes a ding as we wave to each other and separate to our class. I walk into the room and glance at the board, seeing no morning work, I take my time getting all my folders and setting them into the desk and turn in my homework from the previous night. " Good Morning Class!" Miss Shake Moon says in her loud tone. As she walks in from the back room, her outfit being as strange as ever. Her bright Hawaiian shirt with a hot pink wavy skirt that has a slight flow to it. Her mane in curls going to her shoulders then a hair tie keeps it from falling to the floor as she makes her way in the room.
I smile. Miss Moon is the best teacher in the school I've met so far, she gives barley any homework and makes sure every single one of us understands before she moves on. " Now today we have no morning work as you all might have noticed already" she says walking to the board. "This morning we are going to present our projects that I assigned last month" she says, trotting over to her desk and levitating the paper of the Smooth wooden surface.
"First we have..... Orain, would you please come up." She says bringing the paper over to the front of the room as she sits in her director's chair. Orain walked up, his project poster board on his back. He places the board on the stand with no problem and then says, " Hello my fellow classmates, today I am here to present my project on the best pony in the world" He lifts of the white cover, showing of his poster. All the classmates gasp. All but me. He smiles. His project is surrounded by bright lights, similar to my poster at my house, but better. The lights shine a rainbow color and the inside of them is what's surprises us all. Inside are the words in bright orange print, 'The Best Pony In The World Is Doctor Whooves' I frown. Everypony knows that's just a foals tail, and that The Doctor isn't real.
"Doctor Whooves is a time lord, the last of his kind. He used to sand on two legs and walk, and he also used to have hands, being a time lord, he is around 900 years old, but still does his duty's to saving the world. He lives like a normal pony does, and no pony knows where he is now. You know when you hear the sound of his TARDIS, That he is near."
I jump, taken aback by the word. He takes no notice and points to a police box on his poster board. 'The thing I'm not supposed to see.....' I think as I stare at the large blue box in the photo. "Thank you Orain, that was wonderful! Please place your poster on my desk." She says as he applies. "Next we have Star Light" I think she says but I can't help but not listen. My eyes rest on the poster until I hear my name called up. "Next we have, Time Hooves, please come and present your project." She says as I snap back into reality. I slowly get up, grab my poster, and place it on the stand.
My poster is simple, but neat, on it says words in dark blue 'The Best Pony Ever, Derpy Hooves' All the ponies do what I anticipated, laugh. At least some try to hide it. " The best pony, in my eyes, is my mother, Derpy Hooves." I start, not making eye contact. "A lot of ponies laugh at her wall eye, but to me, its beautiful. Derpy is a mail mare, and she is the best in Cloud Dale's Mail And Freight. Her cutie mark, seven bubbles stepping down, like stairs, shows how important her derpness is to Equestria" I say pointing to my drawling of her cutie mark. " Derpy does all she can, and its not right for ponies to make fun of her" I say, making eye contact with Orain as be stiffles a laugh.
"Thank you , Time, for your beautiful Presentation" she says, smiling sweetly. I place my poster and sat down at my desk, but not before being tripped by some pony.
