Twilight awakens in the midst of night. The air was cold and bitter. Removing herself from her sleeping bag, she throws on a jacket and steps outside her tent. All she can perceive is the bright moon in the distance. She begins to walk. The wind beckons her name, as the sand softly churns underneath her hooves. The ponderous deed she had assigned to herself had been brutally taking its toll. She has had enough.

Far from her safe-haven, her inner demons strike once more. Without haste, she begins to walk faster, slowly enhancing into a gallop. She soon arrives to her destination. A small, plywood cross, sticking out of the ground. Twilight unsheathes a small, Crystal Dagger.

"Thou shalt bother me no more, cadence. Thy blade tis yours, once more."

Twilight begins to dig down in front of the plywood cross. It is not long before she finds a small, wooden box. Removing the lid, she unearths a precious Crystal Jar. Opening the jar, she cannot help but cringe at the sight before her. Cadence's living heart.

Placing the lid beside her, She lifts the jar out of the box, and places the jar in the sand before her. Twilight stops and watches the moonlight peacefully glisten off of the beating heart. Tears begin to roll down Twilight's face. Without a second more to loose, she grabs the Crystal Dagger, and raises it high above her head. Cadence's heart begins to beat faster, as if it knows its fate before its' owners. Twilight cries harder.

"Cadence, im so sorry..."

Swinging the blade down, The Crystal Blade pierces the precious heart. Blood splatters all over Twilight's face. The cool wind stops, as a Cry of agony echoes throughout the valley. Cadence's final scream. Twilight's whimpers as she wipes the tears from her face. She begins to bury the lifeless heart, blade still deep within the organ's tissue.

Finishing the proper burial, Twilight stands to her hooves, wipes her face with her jacket sleeve, and slowly follows her footprints back to her tent, whimpering all the way. Arriving back to her tent, she lies down onto her sleeping bag and stares up at the ceiling. she closes her eyes, and repeatedly whispers to herself.

"The deed is done."
