The Creation of Equine Rule

Years had passed and the ponies had remained harmonious to one another. Nothing disharmonious had occurred. The Four Ponies of the Apocalypse viewed this as no such progression, for there had been no conflict, nor challenge. A simple task to test their friendship bonds was at hoof. Thus the four ponies had created creatures, known by study today by Starswirl the Bearded, as Windigos. As bitterness grows within the ponies, their hearts become colder; as their hearts become colder, the weather does also. One random day in the year 405, the storm of bitterness had begun. This storm brought coldness to an extreme measure. As the storm grew the pony tribes became uneasy. The uneasy ways of the tribes caused them to befall selfishness. The earth ponies harvested food to the other tribes, but only to receive favors in return. The unicorn ponies circulated night and day, but only to receive food from the earth ponies. The pegasi brought forward the weather, but only to receive food from the earth ponies as well. Rather than realizing that they require coexistence to survive, all they saw was what they get in return. These selfish notions implied the thought of the Windigos to make the storm colder and stronger. The weather brought extreme conditions between the tribes. The Earth ponies were freezing, the Pegasi Ponies were hungry, and the Unicorn Ponies were freezing and hungry. In attempt to resolve the issue, a council was held at the Olympian Mountain of Evesica. The Hierarchs of the tribes all met here once again: Leader of the Pegasi, Commander Hurricane. Leader of the Unicorns, Princess Platinum. And finally, Leader of the Earth Ponies, Chancellor Pudding Head. Instead of reasoning, each placed blame on each other. Their problems were unresolved and the storm grew colder and stronger. Upon their returns, the hierarch basically complained to their secretaries about how the other tribes were not implying peace. Commander Hurricane spoke to Private Pansy, Princess Platinum spoke to Clover the Clever, and Chancellor Pudding Head spoke to Smart Cookie. Although different in ways of dialogue the hierarchs had the same idea; they needed to find a new land. The three hierarchs and their secretaries went off to search for new land. Over some time Commander Hurricane had found land and decided to name it Pegasopolis. Simultaneously, Princess Platinum found land and named it Unicornia. Meanwhile, Chancellor Pudding head found land, and decided to name it Dirtville. Smart Cookie insisted that she name it Earth, she agreed and so they named it Earth. Coincidentally, the land each of them found was the same place! The first reaction of the hierarchs was to retaliate, the secretaries disagreed. The hierarchs fought anyway. But then, the storm returned. The six ponies were forced to share a cave in the distant mountain in this newfound land. Even in the desperation they were locked in, the hierarchs battled over territory within the cave. The Windigos saw this as an opportunity to entrap them in the cave. Locked in the cave, the hierarchs resorted to blaming each other for their unfortunate fate. Each of them became frozen in the ice that resembled the coldness in their hearts. Quivering in fear, Private Pansy, Clover the Clever, and Smart Cookie saw the Winigos. In the last act of desperation, it was Private Pansy that released her true feelings; she let the other two know that she didn’t hate them. The other two secretaries reacted the same way. The Winigos viewed this as a hearth’s warming. Then the power of love between the three had banished the Windigos. Freed from the ice, the three began to sing carols of harmony. The warmth of their love was strong enough to melt all of the snow, and even melt the hearts of the hierarchs. Thus this new holiday was called Hearth’s Warming. On this very same day, the new land had been renamed Equestria. The six then agreed that the land shall be run under the great rule of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. Over time the rest of the pony races were migrated to their new home, Equestria.
