Chapters From Hooves to Hands; the Dust Remains
You want to know where the scars are from?
Fluttershy woke up and began her usual morning routine. Brush teeth, comb hair, etc. Eventually she walked down stairs to make breakfast, she would shower and change afterword. Walking down stairs in only her nightie, if it was only her and angel who would see her?
As she reached the ground floor she felt as though she had forgotten something. Her thought's were interrupted by a light snoring. Walking closer to the origin point, the couch, she saw a man sprawled out without a shirt on it. Screaming loud enough to be heard in Canterlot she recoiled for a moment.
Walker jumped up and looked around afraid of an attack. Then he noticed Fluttershy on the other end of the couch. "Oh.. um are you alright?" That's when he noticed her apparel and looked away. "Ma'am.. you're um...clothing is a bit...um."
Looking down she realized what she was wearing and ran back upstairs. A few minutes later she came down in a green sweater and a yellow skirt with butterflies on the side. She walked into kitchen to start breakfast. "So..." She started trying to break the silence. "Will you be staying for breakfast?"
Standing to one side awkwardly he answered. "Um... if you'd have me I suppose. I'd hate to impose." He said.
She just smiled half halfheartedly. "Oh you wouldn't be imposing at all." She turned to look at him and then noticed all the scars adorning his chest, it seemed to many for a human to handle. "Oh my, where did you get all those scars?"
He just shrugged. "Some are from switchblades that bullies used in Vault 101, the rest are from four years of fighting. 3,000 miles from one side to the other and then some." He said leaning against the wall and letting his dog tags jangle a little.
"And the necklace?" She asked.
He held up his holo-tags. "I got them when I joined the brotherhood... they're all I have from D.C anymore..." He said looking down sadly.
She walked over and put a hand on his back in the same style Amata would when he stood up for her in the vault. "Would you like to talk about it?" Slowly he nodded no.
"I think I should be going... I'm sure I can find something to do. I'll see you later." He said walking into the living room and redressing in his gear.
Walking out he headed back into town to find Twilight and find some info on where he was exactly. When he entered the center of town a woman with grey hair and glasses pointed him out. "There he is!" Before he could respond crowd had formed around him. "You're the man who killed those bandits yesterday!" she said.
"Yeah what about it?" He said trying to get away from the crowd.
She just laughed at him. "We're here to thank you! As well as give you the reward." She said handing him a jingling bag. Grabbing it and looking in his eyes went wide. Gold, lots of gold. This equaled up to more caps than he could imagine.
Smiling dumbly he charged through the crowd to find a place to count this loot.
Fluttershy finished cleaning her cottage just as someone knocked on the door. Opening it she saw Walker dancing around with a dumb smile on his face as if the goofiest thing had just happened. "Oh hello Walker, did you leave something here?" She asked looking around.
"No, I just came to ask you to dinner. You cooked dinner for me last night and I just wanted to make it up to you." He said holding up the sack of bits.
She realized he was asking her to dinner. "Oh well I mean I couldn't... I was just being kind last night is all. You really don't have to do that." She stuttered out.
He just gave her a disapproving smirk. "I insist, you opened your kitchen and your home to me last night, least I could do is open my wallet for you." It did sound nice but she wasn't sure.
After a moment she agreed. "O-okay, but no place to expensive." She told him grabbing her purse from the table by the door. "I'm going out to dinner Angel." She called into the house.
"...and so I looked at him and said 'looks like you got something in your throat, me.'" Walker finished his story just as they finished dinner. Fluttershy gave a small giggle at him.
She may not care for violence but the silly humor he used in it made her giggle at the strange innuendos. "So I guess we should make our way home." She said after he paid the bill.
Standing he motioned for the door. Fallowing her to the door he felt to see if his helmet was still in the position he he left it, strapped to his belt.
As they exited and began the walk back to her cottage a few men stepped out of an alley, blocking their way. "Alright, so just give us your bits and you can be on your way." Said the largest of them.
Out of fear Fluttershy handed them her purse and cowered behind Walker, who just stood his ground against the men. "He said hand over your wallet." said one of the other bandits to his right.
Scoffing he reached behind him in his duster. Quickly he entered V.A.T.S and selected the men's heads. From behind him he pulled 'The Light Shining in Darkness' and took out the men.
Fluttershy looked shocked at the way he so easily killed the men. "Y-y-you killed them." She said.
He nodded and grabbed her purse, handing it back to her. "It had to be done, otherwise they'd have just kept harassing people." He said.
"B-bu-" She was cut off by Walker's finger on her lips.
"Fluttershy. These men were murderers, they've probably killed and stolen before. Me putting an end to them, stopped the blood shed they made. I didn't kill them, I merely sent them to be judged by a higher power." he told her.
Before he could react she fainted, catching her as quick as he could.
Fluttershy awoke to the feel of being carried. Opening her eyes she could see Walker's beard blocking her vision from seeing his face. Looking around she saw he was carrying her home, just up the road.
"Wh-what happened?" she asked him.
He was silent for a moment. "I...dealt with some crooks and you fainted." He said coldly. Looking over she saw he was almost to her home.
"I-i think I can walk the rest of the way." She said, blushing upon fully realizing he was carrying her and probably had been the whole way home. Slowly he released her to her feet and walked her to the door. "T-thank you for dinner."
Smiling warmly he waved it off. "Anytime, sorry about what I did." He apologized. He found it funny really, he hadn't acted like he had the last few days since being in the vault, let-a-lone apologize. "I should be going, I found a good place to camp on a hill nearby." And so he left.
Walker awoke to the lack of sunlight. Looking up he saw a woman standing above him. "You the one who's been hanging around Fluttershy lately?" She asked menacingly.
He just rolled over. Angrily she flipped him over with her foot. Quick as lightning he grabbed her foot, yanked it out from beneath her, and held his modified .45 to her face. "Never touch me again; or I'll blow your brains down this hill." She looked at him wide eyed for a moment. "Who are you?" he asked holstering his firearm.
"I'm Rainbow Dash. You're Walker right?" After having a pistol put to her face by a trained her mood was a bit different. He nodded yes. "Um... the girls sent me to talk to you since I'm closest to Shy."
He pulled some whiskey from his bag. "Talk about what?" He asked, taking a large swig from the bottle.
Rainbow couldn't believe he was drinking this early. "Um... we just don't want you to hurt her or anything. We know you guys are getting pretty close an-"
Walker just laughed at her. "Close? I barely know her. Shit I met her two days ago!"
Rainbow just gave him a weird look. "But you stayed the night at her house, and went out to dinner, and you carried her!"
More laughter fallowed. "I stayed at her house because she didn't want me to spend my first night here in the woods, I took her to dinner because she cooked me dinner, I carried her because after we were attacked by some bandits she fainted. Hehe... close." He laughed opening his bag and taking out a weapon repair kit.
Rainbow blushed slightly at the misunderstanding. "So there's nothing going on between you two?" There may be hope for the rest of us yet.
Without looking up he replied. "Nope, there hasn't been anything going on between me and anyone for a long time."
Rainbow shuffled her feet a little bit. "So... you're saying your available?" The girls had all agreed he was a fine looking man, just needed a bit of a shave.
With a hardly laugh he looked up at her. "I suppose, but who'd date a crazy man?" He asked.
She was about answer when Twilight came running up the hill. "Rainbow Dash, the princess is here to se- Oh hello Walker." She interrupted herself. "Um, the princess is actually here to see you." She said with a smile. These girls are wierd, he thought with a smirk.
Putting his things in his bag and grabbing his helmet he motioned for her to lead. "Let's get this over, I hate authority."
From Hooves to Hands; the Dust Remains
Walker walked through the town with the two girls to meet this "Princess Celestia." He used to have no problem with authority... till the Overseer.
"Ahh, Twilight, Rainbow Dash... This must be your new, er friend. Walker was it?" She asked extending a hand to him. He just looked at it. "Alright then... So Walker, Twilight said you're from a place called America?"
Looking at her he just starred at her for a moment. "With all due respect, what the fuck is up your ass?" Everyone in the immediate area stopped and looked at him. "You seem to be uncomfortable talking to me, and I'd like to know why it seems like you'd rather be dead than right here."
Celestia looked stunned. "I- uh, what?" Was all she could manage to say.
"You heard me." He said releasing his helmet and showing his face. "Why is this a chore?"
She studied his features for a moment, then she noticed it. "What's that necklace you wear?" She wasn't trying to change the subject, but that necklace could mean something very important.
He pulled the chain and showed the holo-tags attached. "There holo-tags. They have all my basic information. I got them from the Brotherhood of Steel." That was it.
"Twilight I need to speak with you a moment." This was very bad. When they got to a good distance out of ear shot she stopped and looked down at the girl. "Twilight he isn't who you think he is, he's from another world." She told her.
Twilight looked at her mentor with a funny expression. "What do you mean? Of course he's of this world." This was the only world they had, and he didn't look like an alien.
Celestia sighed. "Twilight many years ago, while my sister was still banned, Discord tried something from his imprisonment. He sent a message to a man in another universe. The man realized what happened and tried to come to our world because he knew what would happen to his. While he was working, he found a way to our world. Before he could use his device to come here, his world was covered in nuclear fire and he was killed. Many survivors from that world found his device and have come here, many violently. I fear Walker may be from that world."
This was to much information at once. "S-s-s-so you're saying that he's from another universe, and that his world was almost destroyed." Celestia nodded. "What does this mean? Can we tell him? Can we send him back?"
She nodded no. "If we tell him I don't know what could happen, the world he's from is a bad place. People are corrupted there. I'll have Luna watch his dreams, and you try and get him to come to the Gala this year. The more we can watch him the better we know what to do."
They walked back to the others. "Walker, I am sorry for my behavior. I'm sorry but I must return back to the palace." Celestia then walked back to her carriage.
He watched her go before turning and walking back toward his campsite. The girls fallowed him closely. "So Walker, there's a Gala later this year and we'd love if you could make it." Twilight spoke.
He just huffed. "I've had bad experiences with big events. Last time I had to fight through an army of the dead to kill a man who was power hungry and had a bomb collar on my neck." They stopped and looked at him funny, he merely shrugged. "Shouldn't have been talking shit."
"Riiiiight... well what can we do to get you to come?" Twilight asked.
He thought for a moment. "Will there be food and good music?" He asked. She nodded her head. "Is there a dress code?"
"Well me and the girls usually get Rarity to make us dresses. I'm sure she could make you something like your... clothes." Twilight spoke.
"Yeah she could make something awesome!" Rainbow agreed.
He looked over his armor for a second. "Can she blend poly-Kevlar into a body armor that morphs the the wearer and can absorb laser rifle discharges?" He asked.
"I'm sure she can learn." They said in unison.
Thinking it over he finally told them to lead on. About halfway there he was tackled from behind by a blur of pink, so much fucking pink.
Atop of him was a girl wearing pink, with pink hair. "HiI'mPinkiePiebutyoucancallmePinkieareyounewbecauseIdon'trememberyouyouseemliketheguywefoundintheforestOOOhareyouhimbeca-" She was silenced by his hand over her mouth. Pushing her off he stood again.
"Who is she?" He asked them.
Twilight spoke first. "That's Pinkie Pie, she's the friendliest person in town, and friends with everyone."
Then Pinkie spoke. "I sure am, and I'm not familiar with you so you must be new! Oh oh oh! I'll throw you a welcome party!" She said before disappearing.
Walker just laughed. "Reminds me of the Stranger, except she talks a lot more." Without their leadership he began walking again.
Catching up they began to tell him about Rarity. "She's an awesome clothes designer. She's made cloth's for everyone in town and even some of the big wigs in Canterlot." They told him.
While they walked someone yelled out from behind them. "Help! I'm being robbed!" Yelled a woman infront of a flower stand.
Without missing a beat Walker turned and pulled his Sniper Rifle from his bag. Entering V.A.T.S he aimed at the man's legs. The silenced barrel let out to sweet hisses and the man fell over. Walking over he pulled out his silenced .45 and aimed.
"See here, punk . This is .45 caliber 1911. One of the most powerful handguns in the world. Other day I killed a manticore with it and didn't reload, now I know what you're thinking, 'Did he fire 7 shots or only 6?' Well in all the excitement I forgot. Seeing as this gun can blow your head clean off you've got to ask yourself one question. Do I feel Lucky? Well do ya, punk ?" Walker spat at him.
Looking at the gun in Walkers hand the guy handed over the bits he stole. As Walker began to walk away the guy called out. "Hey, I got's to know." Walking back he aimed at the guys head and pulled back the hammer. With wide eyes he sat and waited for death... until he heard the reassuring 'click' come from the hand gun.
Chuckling Walker made his way to the woman and handed her the bag before making his way to Twilight and Rainbow Dash. "He just made my day." He said walking off.
"Do you do that on a daily basis? Just stop bad things like that?" Rainbow asked him . He just shrugged. "What are you, some kind of Messiah?"
From Hooves to Hands; the Dust Remains
They arrived at Rarity's boutique about ten minutes after the incident with the thief. As they entered a woman with purple hair looked down the stairs. "Oh Twilight, Rainbow Dash! Who is your... eh friend?" She asked with obvious distaste.
"I think you were there when they pulled me out of the forest." He said, introducing himself in a way.
Her eyes lit up. "Oh you're Walker! How nice to finally meet you! I'm Rarity." She said, offering her hand.
He gave her hand a small shake. Reaching in his bag he brought out the armor Joshua Graham left him. "I was just wondering if you could spruce up this for me, leave any holes not stitched, not stitched and all the burn marks and blood in it." He told her handing over the apparel.
She looked it over. "Why is that exactly? And are you sure you don't want me to just throw it out?"
"A man named Joshua Graham gave me this, he was burned alive in these very clothes. He protected men and women he didn't know or even really care for in these clothes. Then he gave them to me for safe keeping. Oh, and I'm going to wear them to the Gala."
She gave them a once over, they were a fine set of clothes. If she had to say anything about them it was, while they stunk, they seemed like the outfit of a warrior unmatched by most. They seemed holy in nature. "Eh... Very well! I shall find something to do with them." She seems kind, just a bit up tight for my taste. he laughed to himself.
Waling out he made way to his camp site. "Wait!" Someone called out from behind him. Turning he saw it was Rarity. "Would you like some clothes to wear instead of that ghastly armor?"
He looked himself over. "What's wrong with my armor?" This armor had been warn by soldiers for over 200 something years and was still in mint condition.
"Well nothing they just aren't... normal. Most people don't wear combat armor as a usual apparel choice." She had a point.
For a moment he seemed lost in thought. "Tell you what, tomorrow I'll come back and if I like what you've done to the stuff I already gave you then we'll talk." And without another word he walked away.
When he got back to his camp a strange sight met his eyes. Where he had his bedroll laid out sat Fluttershy with a picnic basket. "Hello Miss Shy."
She gave him a smile. "Hello Walker; I thought you could...um... use some company so I brought um... some picnic stuff. If that's okay with you of course."
Removing his helmet and duster he sat beside her. "I'd love some company just wasn't expecting any. Give me a moment and I'll put on something not so... combat ready." He said walking around the tree that stood behind them.
Walking back into view he was wearing a black flannel shirt with white squares and blue jeans. When he sat back down Fluttershy handed him a sandwich. "It's turkey."
"What's a turkey?" He asked taking a bite. "Whatever it is, it's pretty good." She smiled at him, when he wasn't being cynical he seemed pretty nice.
"So I hear you'll be coming to the Gala this year." You can do this Fluttershy. She thought.
He just waved it off. "Yeah, Twilight talked me into it. I'll probably leave after an hour. 'Specially if I have to hang around that pompous ass princess." He growled at the thought of it.
She scooted a little closer. "Why do you have a problem with the princess?"
Walker sighed and thought back to his 19th birthday. "When I turned 19 my dad left our vault. The overseer went crazy and tried having me killed, I barely escaped with my life. Then, not but a few days later a group known as the Enclave forced my dad to kill himself, he did it so the waters of life could flow freely. Then after a year with the brotherhood they forced me to kill the men and women of a town called Megaton, I still hear the screams. No matter where I've turned authority has reigned down like hail and tried to control everything in my life."
Looking down she could see his hand was shaking. Wearily she reached down and grabbed it, gently squeezing it. "The princess isn't like that. She's kind and sweet."
Gently squeezing her hand he looked pained. "All authority is the same. They use you, build you up so the pawns on the plate can beat the knights on the other end. They never realize that at the end of the day, the pawn and the king go in the same box."
Scooting ever-so slightly closer she rested her head gently on his arm and waited for him to ask her to move. Walker sighed and looked over the sprawling town ahead of them. "You people have things so easy here. You have dependable sources of income, free time, actual lives!"
She followed his gaze to the horizon. "It isn't that easy here. Monsters and bandits attack the town often and we usually have to save the world every couple of weeks." As the words left her mouth she began to remember all the good times she'd had with her friends on those adventures.
Walker pulled out a cigarette and lit it. "Saving people is a curse and destines a bitch. Not a day into the waste and I had to save a town and in the process got kids dad killed; because that was my 'destiny.' If I ever met the Fates... I'd give them what authority deserves."
Carefully waiting for his breathing to settle from the raspy breath he was taking she gently rubbed his back. After a moment he calmed down. Slowly she laid down and looked up at the stars. "Have you ever wanted to get close to the stars? Just float in space?"
Laying back he chuckled lightly. "I've floated once or twice. Mothership Zeta has a nice view. It's quiet in space, every sound is muffled and time seems to slow."
Giggling softly at how strange he was Fluttershy moved a little closer to him. "It is quiet beautiful out tonight, I've never seen the stars so bright." So strange how one second she can be as shy as possible and then as brave as a jet junkie.
For hours they just laid there, watching the stars. Eventually they fell asleep; side by side, hand in hand.
From Hooves to Hands; the Dust Remains
Walker awoke to something soft at his side. Opening his eyes and looking over revealed none other than Fluttershy beside him.
Silently he tried to move away without waking her but failed to realize that he was holding her hand. "The gentle, accidental, pull stirred her from her slumber. Cracking open her eyes and smiling sweetly she moved ever so closer to him... for about five seconds.
Fully opening her eyes she looked at Walker. "Oh... um, Walker... why are w-we... um... we didn't... you know did we?" She stuttered out softly, a bright blush making its self known on her cheeks.
Sitting up and cracking his back he looked up at the sky. "I don't think we did since we're both fully clothed," Oh, stupid Fluttershy. Of course you're fully clothed. she mentally scolded herself. "But we did fall asleep together it seems; sorry."
She gave him a curious look. "Why are you apologizing? I was the one who showed up yesterday evening."
Shrugging he looked around, as if the answer was somewhere around the campsite. "I just woke up beside a girl I've barely know three days. It felt the right thing to do." Slowly he got up and walked around the three, only to come back a moment later in his thick combat armor.
"W-well I should probably get going. Angel's probably worried sick." She said standing and running in the direction of her cottage. Watching her go he almost didn't notice the signature behind him. Turning he pulled his .45 quickly and aimed at the incoming life form.
Standing at the end of his barrel was the over excitable girl from the previous day. "I-I just wanted to tell you your party is this evening." She said with wide eyes.
Holstering the side arm he waved her off. It was time to go hunting.
Walker sat atop a ridge in the middle of the forest looking down a small clearing. He'd been hunting before, usually man hunts, but Big horns weren't very good game.
Out of the corner of his eye he could see a small animal with antlers jump out of the foliage and into the clearing. Sighting in his Sniper Rifle he aimed for the head, usually this wouldn't be his aiming point but with a new creature he usually liked to experiment.
His grip on the handle tightened, his finger moved from it's position above the trigger to the trigger. He felt the breeze blow across the ridge, finding the areas not completely covered by armor and cooling him below the thick duster. Exhaling the breath he was holding he began to pull on the trigger.
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!
Before he pulled the trigger a series of shotgun blast came from the right and ripped the deer to pieces. Re-sighting he saw a group of men emerge from the woods, the man in front holding a shotgun. Two had Chinese Assualt Rifles, the third wielding a 9mm pistol, and the last holding an Assault Carbine.
Aiming at the lead man he shot a hole clean through his head. Putting his rifle back in his bag he made his way down toward the group.
Pulling his broad machete he made for the man in the rear with the assault carbine. From one side of the bushes he jumped out and tackled him into the parallel bushes. The man tried to struggle for the few seconds before his throat was slit, side from side.
Leaving the body he continued through the bushes. Standing for a moment he launched the machete like a spear at the man with the pistol. It pierced his heart and made him fall into the bushes without a sound, the leaves cushioning his bloody fall.
Next he came up behind one of the assault rifle wielders. Grabbing him he threw him onto the ground and silenced him with a strong boot to the Adams-apple. Pulling his .45 he rested the silencer against the last mans head.
"Who are you?" He asked the man.
The man chuckled at him. "We were hunters, before you killed most of us, murderer." If the man thought the words affected Walker he was wrong.
Aiming for the back of his leg Walker put a round into the mans calf. Screaming in pain he fell to one knee. "Hunters don't carry military weaponry and wear body armor. Who are you?"
Screaming he answered. "W-we were mercs. Guy who ran some bandits in the area hired us." To persuade some more information out of him, Walker put his boot on the entry point of the round now in the mans leg. "Ahhh! H-he said he wanted us to kill the man who killed his guys! Paid us good money! 1000 bits each when the job was done!"
Putting the barrel back against the mans head he removed his foot from the wound. "Should have gotten that up front." He pulled the trigger, splattering brain matter on himself and the ground.
Walking over and grabbing his machete he made for the animal he was going to kill.
Kneeling beside the animal he saw it was still roughly breathing. "I'm sorry those monsters did this to you. An animal should never be killed unless for a propose higher than just killing." He said, gently petting it's side. With a deep exhale he pulled up his broad machete and stabbed it through the head, a clean and quick end to its suffering.
Fluttershy sat in her garden tending to the plants and animals there. She had just finished feeding her pets when she looked up to see Walker exit the forest covered in blood. Jumping up she ran over to him. "Walker! Are you okay? Whose blood is this?" She asked noticing no wounds on his person.
Holding up a hand to stop her questions he walked by her. Standing by the waters edge he gently dipped the blade of his broad machete into it. Holding a shaky hand over the blade he seemed lost in concentration. "For salvation through blood and life in battle." He whispered faintly as the water washed the blood from his blade.
Sheathing the blade he walked back over to Fluttershy. "I was hunting in the woods when, as I was about to bag a deer, a group of men with rifles and armor came from the woods. I dealt with the men and learned that they were hired by the leader of those bandits I killed to find and kill me."
Her eyes went wide at his words. "Y-you mean..." She trailed off as if the words were to much for her to bear.
"I'll have to ponder it all later, tonight apparently there's a party for me." He said with a warm smile. "So if you're coming I'll see you there, but I think I should head back to my camp.
"Actually I think I forgot my Picnic basket there so... um... w-would y-you mind if I joined you?" With a smile he nodded and began to lead on to the camp.
As they came close they noticed someone at the top of the hill. "Applejack? What are you doing here?" Fluttershy asked.
The farm girl smiled. "The others asked me to come get Walker and take him to the spa fer a scrubbin'." She looked at Walker with a devious grin.
Walker walked through the door out of the room where the two women with pink and blue hair (respectively) had just washed him. "That was bullshit." were his only words.
Walking out in the bathrobe they had given him he looked for his armor; it wasn't where he left it. Stumbling around the room he couldn't seem to find it anywhere.
Out of a side room appeared Rarity. "Here darling; I took the liberty of cleaning these filthy things for you." She said throwing him his armor.
Behind her stood Rainbow Dash with a large box in her hands. "And we took these and got them cleaned at the town gunsmith!" Sitting the box down and opening it revealed his pistols, sparkling like new.
Grabbing the modified .45 he looked down on it. The steel had been cleaned and brushed, the wooden grip was polished, and the sights had been re-molded. On the side of the slide was a symbol all to familiar.
"Where'd you find this symbol?" He asked pointing to the obvious Brotherhood insignia on the side.
Rainbow looked closer at it. "The gunsmith put it on there, said he heard a story about you and figured you'd like it." I'll have to find this gunsmith later. He thought.
Redressing quickly and holstering his weapons he followed them to the party. Entering the strange building that smelled like sweets he heard a quick beat along with synthesizers and a snare. "What the fuck is that dreadful noise?!"
From Hooves to Hands; the Dust Remains
Fixing the noise complaint
Walker shielded his ears as he made his way over to where this "Music" was coming from.
When he got close enough he brought up his Pip-Boy and looked at the signals.Sure enough there was source just ahead. Hacking into the signal was easy, the password was 'Password.' Quickly he transferred several of the music files he had recorded onto the device.
Hitting the button he played one of the first songs he heard out of the vault. First time he heard it he made a connection, specially since he was 6' tall and almost 25 now.He was A Mighty Mighty Man .
Looking up he saw the Disk Jockey (whatever the hell that was) began to look at her equipment strangely as the new song began to play. At first the occupants didn't know what to do, but as the song continued they began to get into it.
Walking across the room a strange sound met his ears. "Well if it isn't Rainbow-crash !" Said an arrogant voice.
"Hehe, yeah and S-s-s-stutter -Shy!" Said another. Looking over Walker saw he was besides the refreshment table. Reaching over he grabbed one of the glasses sitting on it.
Walking over he saw the guys making fun of Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. Making his way to the first guy he heard he tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey buddy can you hold this for a second, just right up to your face?" The guy reached forward and held the glass up to his face with an annoyed expression.
As the glass was in front of his face Walker lashed out and punched the man in the nose, smashing the glass into his face as well. All of a sudden it sounded as though a record has scratched and the song changed.

The guy he punched stumbled backward as his friends came at Walker. He threw a right hook at the first guy, a buff man with brown hair. While he was dealing with this guy, with a series of punches to the stomach, another guy came up from behind him and hooked his arms back.
As the guy he punched glass into came back, much more angry than before, Walker kicked off his chest and rolled out of the fall onto the guy behind him. With a quick thrust he rendered the man unconscious by hitting him in the forehead with the bash plate on the front of his helmet.
Standing up he blocked a punch from his left with the wrist guard on his armor, making the brunette man stumble backward holding his fist. Acting fast he grabbed a glass of what he assumed was whiskey from the refreshment table and threw it in the face of the man with cuts in his face.
Recoiling he fell into small table by the wall. Walker stood fist raised looking over the victory. A crowd stood around him. "Are you not entertained? Are. You. Not. Entertained?! Is this not why you're here?!" He yelled before being tackled to the ground by two girls.
Looking down and trying to free himself he found he was being hugged by Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. "What the fuck is with you people and hugging?" He was still trying to pry them from his torso.
"That. Was. So. EPIC!" Rainbow Dash said.
"Oh thank you for dealing with those bullies!" Fluttershy said, squeezing his torso a little bit more.
Sighing back he gave them each a light tap, in a sort of mock hug. "I was just standing up for friends, shouldn't have been talking shit."
Eventually they let go and allowed him to stand. "Walker! Come over here! Ah got someone ya ought ta meet." Said Applejack from across the room. Walking over he saw a tall, buff, looking man with blonde hair standing next to Applejack.
They stood and starred at each other for a minute before Walker broke the silence. "Glad we understand each other."
The man nodded. "Eeyup." He replied before walking off. Walker turned and found a nice place to sit and enjoy the music. Eventually Twilight walked over and sat beside him.
"Hello Walker," She said interrupting his humming. "How are you enjoying the party?" She asked.
"Well I just got to beat the shit out of some assholes so it isn't terrible." Suddenly a slow song started and all the couples began to slowly dance together.

Twilight bit her lip in wait for him to ask her to dance. Looking over she saw he was gone.
Walker had seen Fluttershy standing awkwardly by herself across the room. He made his way over and stood for a moment before her. "May I have this dance?" His deep voice dripping with charisma.
Nervously she looked at his mitt like hand and blushed. "Oh, I don't dance a-and besides there's a lot of other, p-prettier gi-" In her rant she had thrown up her hand to show a point and allowed Walker access.
Ever so gently grabbing her hand he walked to the dance floor and slowly pulled her in. Slowly extending his other hand he waited for the shocked Fluttershy to respond. Hesitantly she grabbed his hand and moved along with him as they swayed to the song.
Twilight stood watching them from across the floor. "So he duped you too, huh?" asked a voice from her side.
Looking over she saw Rainbow Dash and Rarity walking up. "I was so close! I thought when that song began to play he'd surely ask me to dance!" She pouted at her friends.
Rarity huffed. "I figured when I walked and handed him his clean clothes, as well as arranging for him to have bath he'd at least give me a hug or something."
Rainbow Dash cut in this time. "You didn't spend your extra cash on having a pair of stupid guns cleaned! Gosh, so un-rainbow." They all crossed their arms and watched the pair dance. "What does Fluttershy have that we don't?"
They all sighed and looked down. "I do believe we're being a bit uncouth." Rarity said. The other girls just nodded.
Meanwhile Walker and Fluttershy were just finishing their dance. "That wasn't so bad now was it?" He asked. Looking down he saw Fluttershy with her face still buried in his chest. "Um... Fluttershy the song is over."
Blushing brightly she removed herself. "O-oh sorry. I guess I-i got caught up in the moment." Suddenly another song began to play. "They used to play a song like this in Ballroom Dancing class."
Youtube Video
Offering his hand once more he motioned to the dance floor. "Well I'll try and lead but you have more experience than I do." Blushing a bright crimson she took his hand and followed to the center floor.
As they danced the world seemed oblivious to Fluttershy. Only when they went in to the dip did she notice that they were the only ones on the floor, and everyone was watching her. But... strangely she didn't care; she danced and twirled with walker around the room while everyone watched the pair.
When the song ended a loud round of applause erupted from the room while her and Walker's faces were merely inches from each other. She noticed while they stood breathing heavily from the dance. "Y-you're a g-good dancer. Where did you learn to do all that?" She asked.
He just shrugged. "On the way between the Capitol Waste and the Mojave I went through a town with a working cinema, I watched a bunch of movies there and picked up how to dance from them." He said releasing her from the hold he didn't realize he had around her midsection.
Blushing she said goodbye and started to make for the exit. "W-wait!" he called after her. She turned at the door and looked at him. "Where are you going?" he asked.
"I-I was g-gonna go home."
Without a word he walked up and stood by her. "Then I'll walk you there."
"B-but this party is for you and I'd hate to make you leave just for me." She stuttered only to be silenced by his finger on her lips.
He looked down at her with a warm smile. "It's no bother. Besides if something were to happen to my new friend because I didn't make sure they got home okay I'd be destroyed." He had a point.
Nodding she agreed. "O-okay but you don't have to." After the way she was dancing I'd have thought all her shy had blown away in the wind. He thought.
Offering his hand he motioned for the street. Taking his hand she made to the street with him.
When they arrived at her house she let go of his hand and walked to the door. When it was opened just a fraction she turned and ran up to him, planting a small kiss on his cheek before running in to the cottage.
He stood there for a second with his hand on his cheek; while Fluttershy stood behind the door with her hand on her lips and a blush on her cheeks.
Suddenly his Pip-Boy began to play a song while he made his way back to his camp.

Packing up his camp gear he decide it may be time to move from the area, if the mercs came back again he shouldn't be staying in anyone place to long. Grabbing his helmet he decided to head to Fluttershy's, she was friendly with the wildlife and must know a few good places he could camp.
When he arrived at the cottage he felt something was off. Knocking on the door an unfamiliar face answered. "Well hello, who are you?" The woman at Fluttershy's door asked him.
"I'm a friend of Fluttershy's... and you?" The woman had hair similar to Shy's except it had spots of grey in it and wasn't as long.
The woman chuckled. "I should have expected she hasn't mentioned us. I'm Monarch, Fluttershy's mother. You must be Walker." Do they all have names that have to do with butterflies?
She waved him in, all the while giving him a look over. "So how did you and Fluttershy meet exactly?" She asked.
He sat down on the couch and placed his helmet on the coffee table. "Um... Her and her friends pulled me out of the forest, she was the first person I met when I woke up in the hospital." He said, fully aware he was being judged.
"And why do you um... wear so much protection?" She asked noticing the pistol holstered on his side, as well as the armor and the various rifles in his bag.
Pulling his .45 he looked it over. "Better to have something and not need it, than to need it and not have it."
Monarch knew Fluttershy would come looking for her in moment and asked one last question. "Do you like my daughter?" Wasn't expecting that one.
Looking at the woman he knew she expected an answer. "Define like." He was stalling of course.
"Do you like my daughter in an intimate way?"
"Intimate?"
"Funky."
"Get jiggy with it?"
"Doing the sideways hussle."
"Stop, it's hammer-her time?"
"Getting down with her bad self."
"...fresh as a fro with a comb and blue suede suit?"
"Word."
"No jig?"
"Would you shake the bed like an earthquake?"
"She in it?"
"DO you want her in it?"
"You okay, cracker."
"What?"
"Are we not in character anymore?" He asked as Fluttershy walked through the back with a man who looked about the same age as Monarch. Must be her father.
"Walker? What are you doing here?!" She seemed nervous about something.
Monarch spoke before he could. "We were just chatting. Gale this is Fluttershy's friend Walker, I believe he's a security worker of some kind."
Standing and shaking the mans hand he corrected the woman. "I'm no security worker, more of a... courier." He told them.
"For a courier you have quiet a nice grip. What were you in the military?" Gale asked him.
He just shrugged. "Something like that, I was high priority civilian asset for a few battles, though I lead a thing of troops in assaulting a carrier and escaping before the intercontinental rocket platform hit the carrier with war heads from the atmosphere." Gale and Monarch gave him a strange look before smiling like they knew what he was talking about.
"I like the get-up you got going on here. Where'd you get it?" Gale asked him looking at his body armor.
"I received it when a man died."
"So he left it to you?" Am I being fucking interrogated?
"Something like that." He said remembering the Third Street Municipal Building.
"Walker, can I um... talk to you outside... if that's okay." He nodded and followed her outside. "I-I'm sorry about my parents, they've always been a bit questioning of my friends."
He just waved it off. "You're their daughter, they have a right to be protective of you." She looked at him with her big, sad, teal eyes and he broke. "Alright, I'll just tell them something important came up in town and I have to leave."
She smiled and walked back inside, he following close behind. When they walked back in her parents were looking down at a news paper.
"Walker... is this you?" Monarch asked holding up the paper. Sure enough a picture of him holding his .45 at the crook who tried to steal from the flower lady. Above it read the headline "New Hero in Ponyville, vigilante justice returns."
Grabbing the paper he read it aloud. "A few days ago the elements of harmony walked into town with a stretcher carrying a man covered in armor. Now said man is returning the favor by saving the town. In the few days he's been here he's single handedly defeated the bandits that have been plaguing town, saved a business owner from being robbed, and defeated the town bullies. Look out Ponyville, a new vigilante has stepped in, and seems to be out-doing not only Rainbow Dash, but also The Mysterious Mare-do-Well. Whoever you are new guy, Ponyville thanks you."
Monarch and Gale looked over at him with wide grins. "Looks like courier has a new meaning." Monarch laughed.
"So Walker, why didn't you tell us you were a hero? And if you aren't a courier what are you?" They looked at him like they had just met a king.
He sat down and looked at his lap. "I'm no hero, I'm a monster." They gave him a strange look. "You ever looked man in the eyes as he died, and knew that you killed him. Hell of a thing killing a man, take away all he's got, all he's ever gonna have."
Fluttershy rubbed his back. "Walker's been through some stuff. He doesn't have any family left, or many friends." She told them. "His father died protecting his work and his mother died during Childbirth. He's had a rough going."
Standing he grabbed his helmet and made for the door. "Oh, don't go! Join us for tea. We'd love to hear some of your stories... if that's okay with you." Monarch said.
"Ma'am, any stories I have aren't that grand. Only really good stories I have is two or three from my last few days here. And," He looked at a blushing Fluttershy. "I'd like to save those for a rainy day."
"Can we hear one?" Monarch asked. Sighing he sat back down and thought for a moment.
"Let me tell you the story of the second day I was here..."
Fluttershy's parents were cracking up by the end of the story. Fluttershy stood to the side blushing a deep crimson. "Y-you walked d-down in your nightie?" Her mother asked rhetorically.
Walker stood and grabbed his helmet. "But I really must be going. If I'm to find a place to camp by nightfall I'll have to leave now." This elicited a groan from Gale and Monarch.
"You could always stay the night here... if that's all right with Fluttershy." Monarch said. so that's where she gets her shyness.
They all looked at Fluttershy. At first glance she was grinning like they had never seen; but as soon as their eyes found her the grin disappeared. "I-I suppose he could. I suppose he'll be taking the guest room and I the couch."
Walker looked at her with questioning eyes. "Why wouldn't you be sleeping in your own bed?"
Before she could respond Monarch answered him. "Oh we asked Fluttershy to let us sleep in her bed; we figured it was probably more comfortable than the guest room bed."
Now he was getting mad, he may not have really had parents but he knew that just because they wanted something they couldn't take it; what made it even worse was that it was from their own daughter. "That's bullshit! Fluttershy you take your bed, they take the guest room and I'll sleep on the couch."
Fluttershy went to speak but her father beat her to it. "Excuse me young man, but you will not just order that we not sleep in her bed."
He turned to Gale with a look that could kill a deathclaw. "You want me to sleep in her bed," They didn't seem to understand. "- with her in it."
Gale seemed to form an idea. "Well I mean that would solve some problems. There no one has to sleep on the couch and since you aren't a couple so you won't be sleeping as close and taking up as little room; where me and Gale will be snuggling."
She smiled deviously as Fluttershy blushed deeply and Walker seemed to be formulating a torture scheme. Gale caught onto her plan and added. "I think that's a great idea, I mean Flutters it isn't like you didn't share the bed with Rainbow Dash; just friends."
"Alright," Walker said. "We'll share the bed, but if I hear moans coming from your room tonight I'm kicking in the door just to make sure everyone's okay." The way he said that so calm made them wonder if he was joking.
WIth the argument over they retired to the kitchen to begin dinner. When Walker suggested playing some music Fluttershy decided to splash some water back on him; payback for that story. "Walker, Twilight told me she heard you singing with the music. Apparently you were very good, mind giving us a demo?"
AT first he seemed confused, until he went back to his usual straight face, "Sure, as long as you dance with me afterward." Before she could respond he placed his helmet on the counter on it's side so the speakers could play. Turning up the speakers he hit a button on his Pip-Boy.
Suddenly music flooded the kitchen, Big Iron .
He began to sing, his deep voice contrasting to the higher octave of Marty Robinson. They watched as he laid his weapons out on the table and began to clean them, with his eyes closed.
After the song he hit a button and another song began to play; a slower, gentler tempo played.
Youtube Video
He stood and walked over to Fluttershy. Grabbing her hand he pulled her close to his body. When the music started he began to gently sing in her ear. They twirled around the kitchen until Gale and Monarch joined them.
"I'm in heaven... and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak..." He whispered in her ear. His warm breath on her ear, along with his deep voice and soothing words were enough to send chills down her spine and then some.
Blushing a deep crimson she tried to think about what he was doing. Is he just flirting? Is it because of last night? Maybe he likes me... but we just met...
After the song ended they all returned to making dinner. When dinner was over Walker still sat at the table cleaning his guns. "Are you going to be going to bed soon?" Fluttershy asked him.
All he did was nod in response and continued working on the weapons. Sighing she headed to her bed room.
After an hour she began to grow worried as why he wasn't coming to bed... after ten more minutes she got up and went to see if he was okay. Walking down stairs she found he wasn't there... no trace of him being in the house was even there.
On the counter sat a note. "Fluttershy, I packed up my things as well as cleaning my dishes. I'm sorry but I won't be taking your bed. Your parents seem to forget you're an adult and that the things in this home belong to you; not them. I know of a place just up the creek where I'll be camping, just in case you need me." SHe read aloud to herself.
"He seems to care about you more than he lets on." A voice said from behind her. Jumping she turned to see who it was. Behind her stood her mother. "Fluttershy sit down and let me tell you a story."
Sitting her mother began. "When I was young I had a lot of gumption. I ran around and got in trouble a lot; i was a lot like your friend Rainbow Dash. One day my boyfriend at the time took me to a Wonderbolts race. When we arrived I was just excited to be there. Well my boyfriend started to get aggressive, he only brought me there because he wanted sex in a stall and I wouldn't give it to him."
Not seeing where the story was going she was about to say something when her mother interrupted her. "When he hit me because I wouldn't give it up, a lone guard walked up and asked if there was a problem. The guy tried throwing it as if everything was fine and dandy... When the guard said he knew he was lying a fight broke out. The guard beat my boyfriend and had him arrested. When it was over he asked if I was okay to walk home, with a bloody nose and black eye he walked me back to my parents home. The guard was your father... after that day we knew we loved each other. If a man is willing to risk his life to protect you... or even disrespect your parents and leave in the night without warning; because he wouldn't humiliate you by sleeping in your bed; keep him, men like that don't just grow on trees."
Fluttershy smiled at her mother. "Thank you mom but we aren't like that; he's just a nice guy over all. You saw the paper."
Rolling her eyes her mother gave her a quick hug. "I know I did, that's how I know he's a good guy... get some sleep sweetie." And she did, a restless sleep... as if something bad was about to happen.
From Hooves to Hands; the Dust Remains
"God says"... I'm not god.
Walker awoke with a crick in his back and a headache. Slowly he arose and began moving toward Fluttershy's home.
When he arrived at the door he heard a soft crying from behind it. Opening the door and drawing his .45 called out. "W-we're in h-here..." Was the response he got.
Entering he found Monarch and a beaten Gale in the living room. "What happened to him?!" He asked kneeling down beside Gale and drawing his medical supplies.
"We got up this morning to find a bunch of men pulling Fluttershy out of the house... h-he tried fighting back but they over powered him. T-they left a note." She told him, drawing a note from her pocket.
He read it over quickly. "We found you, and we found her... if you want her to live come to the cliffs below Canterlot." Was all it said. Dropping it he ran out of the house and through town.
Entering the town he was tackled by Rainbow Dash. "What did you do?!" She screamed at him.
Throwing her off he jumped back to his feet. "I didn't do anything ya crazy bitch! Now if you excuse me I have to go save Fluttershy." He said before running through town, knocking people out of his way. She watched him go before running to find Twilight.
He ran through town and toward the mountain that he under stood was where Canterlot sat. At the base he looked for a way up to the cliffs. Taking a deep breath he grabbed a stone from the mountain. "Benji don't let me down now!" He said, slowly climbing up.
Reaching the top he saw a guard standing on the ledge above him. Pulling his .45 he shot the guard in the leg. The round pierced the guards leg forcing it to give out from beneath him. The guard fell forward over the ledge; looking down all that was seen was a spec hitting the ground and a splatter of red.
Hefting himself up he looked around, no one. No other guards were in the area, not even any life signatures nearby; not like it mattered.
Standing up he pulled the survivalist rifle from his bag. Unloading the 12.7mm clip he pulled out another clip, same ammo with different dynamics. 12.7mm ammo is powerful; just less powerful .50 cal rounds, 12.7mm Hollow Point ammo is like a smack to the face and a boot to the dick. The hollowed round makes it mushroom and fragment on impact, killing fleshy targets with ease.
"Whoever the fuck decided they wanted to take that fucking girl better get his ass out here right now and throw himself off this cliff... because if I have to come find you than I'm gonna bash your brain into the mountain, pull out your bones and suck the marrow from them, make your skin into a festive fucking hat, and eat your internal organs while you are still alive!" He screamed into the cave.
When no response came he hefted his rifle and began moving in. First he could hear the boots scuffing the ground in the shadows, then he saw their signatures. Turning he saw a door that held no signatures. Opening it and walking in he saw a telephone with the 'call waiting' light on.
"Hello." He said coldly into the phone.
"Hello sir, I see you made it." Said a monotone voice from through the phone. "You killed my boys down in Ponyville... as the good book said an eye for an eye."
"Listen, you let her go now that'll be the end of it; I will not look for you, I will not pursue you... But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you." For a moment he thought he heard laughing. "Then I guess I'm going to be coming for you." He said about to hang up the phone.
Suddenly he heard a heart breaking noise from the speaker. "W-w-walker." Fluttershy said. "T-they came a-and took me in the night... t-they beat my dad."
He felt a tear in his eye. "Fluttershy listen to me, they aren't going to hurt you. I'll tu-"
Fluttershy cut him off with words he never though he'd hear. "Kill them, make them pay." He heard a sharp smacking noise and the phone changing hands.
Walker kicked the table the phone was on. "Don't push me, don't push me... let it go I'll give you a war you won't believe." And with that he slammed the phone down and walked out.
Entering the hallway he saw five guys standing around; guns pointed on him. Smiling he sat down his rifle and put his hands up. When the one closest to him lowered his rifle and went to grab his hands his training kicked in.
Grabbing the guy he flipped him around, he may not have killed him but the hail of gunfire his comrades unleashed did the job. Grabbing the dead mans gun he trained his fire on the closest enemy; unloading the clip into his chest point blank.
Dropping the dead man he rolled behind the next guy; grabbing his rifle in the dive. Landing behind him he put the carrying handle to his neck and pulled back on both sides of the rifle. He felt the man struggling to no avail. When he felt the last ounce of life leave the man he flipped around his rifle and opened vats.
Selecting his targets he put two shots in one guys head and one in the others stomach. He watched as if time had slowed down when the rounds hit each man, killing one and wounding the other. Dropping the dead man he was still holding he walked over and kicked the man still alive.
"Can you hear me hillbilly boy! I ain't done with you, I'm about to go medieval on your ass!" He yelled pulling is broad machete. Reaching down he grabbed the mans hand and put the lade on his middle finger. "You're about to finger fuck your new hole."
The mans screams filled the cave as Walker slowly cut off his finger. When the finger was left with just a little bit of flesh holding it to his hand he ripped it off, taking a sizable amount of flesh from the area around with it.
The man's screaming was nothing compared to the sounds he made when he took the bloody separated finger and shoved it into the wound in his stomach. Standing, Walker made the man think it was over... until he turned and stomped the finger into the mans body.
With a final scream the man died from the pain. "That's a sample of what I'm about to do." He said to the dead body before walking off.
Body after body fell to his rifle and the hollow points. Finally he reached a room at the end of the cave with no more than three signatures behind it. He brought up his boot and kicked in the door. Silently Walker stood in the door with his rifle in one hand and his duster blowing in the wind.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw a man grumble and slowly make his way toward him. "So you the fucker I'm supposed to kill?" He asked Walker.
Walker responded by pulling the Light Shining in Darkness and pulling back the slide. The man was about to do something when he saw him putting a strange round into the chamber. "Don't worry, you'll see what this does in a moment. " He told the man.
Smirking the man charged at Walker. When he was almost to him he felt something pierce his stomach. Looking down he saw the small red handle of the throwing knife sticking out of his gut. Slowly he looked up at Walker. "This is one kick in the head." He could almost see the evil smirk behind the mans mask.
Walker pulled up the Light Shining in Darkness and cocked back the hammer. The over powered hand loaded round flew from the barrel and impacted the mans head; reducing it to nothing but blood sausage and thick red paste.
Holstering the .45 he looked up at the man. He saw the familiar fire in his eyes, the look a man gets when he's loosing the battle that he knows if he doesn't win he dies. The legate wore the look, Joe Cobb wore the look. All who wore that look died because that look signifies a broken will and a loosing spirit.
"So finally we meet. Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you! You have been a bothersome one, and now I shall lay my vengeance upon you. You're gonna die here; and I'm gonna smile while you do." The man said to him.
"What's your name?" Walker asked.
"They call me Kenrick." He responded.
Sighing Walker took off his duster and un-clipped his gun belt, taking off his helmet he shook out his helmet hair. "You wanna fight; we'll fight. But yea know, thou shall learn the fury of a godless killer. As god can not fight this battle, and I shall not go easy on you. Thanks for the name, now I know what to put on your tombstone"
The man smiled and took off his gun belt. Walking closer he brought up his fist and made a gesture to come on. Walker brought up his fist and jabbed the man in the throat.
Recoiling he grabbed his throat; lowering his defense. Up came Walkers knee into the mans gut. Doubling over he saw Walker stand above him. Walker grabbed the mans neck and began to squeeze. "I'm gonna send you to a deep, dark place; and I'm gonna have fun doing it!"
The man lashed out and hit Walker in the nose. He recoiled allowing the man time to get up. "I was God! I ruled men and towns! The princesses were blind to the fact they had no control over me and my kingdom. Those who joined me were rewarded with glory and gold, power was saved for those who had minds rivaling mine. You could have been a king in my court! A soldier like you would have been an amazing asset, but you decide to kill my soldiers and me for some bitch!"
"I'm not doing this for her, I'm doing this for honor, justice, and freedom. I'm killing you for retribution!" Walker yelled; running full sprint at the man. He tackled the man to the ground and began to beat him severely. "Though. Shalt. Feel. Gods. Wrath!"
Grabbing the mans shirt collar he dragged him back through the cave to the cliff looking over Ponyville and the surrounding area. "You see this land? God promised it to all for free, not to be ruled by any except for him. Know, that the sin of blasphemy cannot be forgiven. And so I say, you shall die, one a throne of greed and lies, to be brought forth before God and judged for your sins. You may know a line from the bible, but you know not that god said not to compare yourself to others; especially the Lord."
In an instant Walker's hands transferred to the side of the mans head; snapping his neck silently.
He looked down at the body of the man laying on the ground floor below him before remembering the woman he left in the Anti-Chamber. He turned and ran toward the room. Entering he saw the only life signature in the room. Walking up he saw a beaten and bloody Fluttershy passed and tied to a chair.
Walking over and grabbing his things he pulled his Broad Machete from his holster and cut the ropes; releasing her from the chair. When the ropes released she almost fell to the floor, if Walker hadn't caught her just in time. "Easy now girl, let's get you to a hospital."
He picked her up and began to walk toward the exit, leaving his things upon the cave floor. He could come back nad get them later; for now the only thing that mattered was getting Fluttershy to safety.
From Hooves to Hands; the Dust Remains
New and old; all the same to me.
Walker went through the streets of the unfamiliar city following only vague directions of the hospital. After about a half an hour, and various threats against upper class citizens for making remarks about his apparel, he found the Canterlot Hospital.
Entering the E.R he stumbled to the front desk and sat Fluttershy down. "Get her a fucking doctor now." Was all he said to the receptionist. Quickly she nodded and called a doctor. After hearing her argue with a doctor for a moment he reached over and grabbed the phone. "Listen here you piece of shit, if I don't see your ass down here with a stretcher for this girl in the next few minutes I'm gonna come up there and shove my foot so far up your ass the water on my knee will quench your thirst!"
He slammed the phone down and waited, after three minutes a doctor came through the doors with a hospital bed in tow. Walker picked Fluttershy up and sat her on the bed. "I'll be back in a few hours to a day, if I see a she has even been looked at the wrong way... well lets talk about that then shall we." He said grabbing the doctor by the collar.
The doctor nodded and looked Walker over. "B-but what about you?! You're in need of some medical attention yourself sir!" He said, earning a laugh from Walker.
"I'll be fine, long as she's treated right and gets better." He said before leaving the hospital.
As he exited a woman from close by saw him and became curious. She slowly followed him from behind hoping he hadn't noticed her. Eventually they entered a small cave that lead somewhere below Canterlot. As they reached a large room she noticed the blood splattered on the ground.
She was about to leave when he spoke. "So you just gonna leave without telling me why you were following me?"
His sudden outburst frightened her slightly. "I-I was just curious I guess. I'm an author and I saw you and thought you probably had some interesting stories, plus it isn't exactly everyday you see a bloody man leaving a hospital."
He looked her over, she seemed to be in her early 40's, yet could definitely pass for 20 if she wanted to. "I'm Twilight Velvet." She said offering her hand.
He reached out and took her hand."Nice to meet you, names Walker...Twilight... your daughter is Twilight Sparkle ain't she?" She smiled and nodded a yes. "Her and her friends pulled me from the forest... Actually I just took her friend Fluttershy to the hospital, after I killed the psycho that kidnapped her. Guy named Kenrick."
She gasped and looked at him. "The Kenrick?! The biggest criminal in Equestria! He has, or had I guess, a bounty of like 40,000 bits! You collect that you're rich!" She said. "Maybe you do have some interesting stories..." She gave him a sultry look, making him feel increasingly uneasy.
He grabbed his duster coat and clipped it on. "Well why don't you and I meet in two days in Ponyville, you tell the authorities I claim the bounty but couldn't make it to claim my self, keep 10,000 bits and that'll be the end of it?" He threw the strap of his bag over his body and walked out before she could answer.
Making his way toward the gates he exited and made way for Ponyville. When he arrived he began to look around for the gunsmith.
The shop was a greasy little place outback of a saloon. Walking in he was greeted by the smell of cleaning supplies for guns, so lovely. "Well hello young man, come to browse my collection?" Asked a little old man from behind the counter.
Walker nodded his head and drew his .45. "I wanna know where you learned the symbol of the Brotherhood." He pointed to the marking on the slide.
Looking at it the old man smiled. "Yes, Brotherhood of Magic. You and me are similar, both ex-Brotherhood. Did ya hear they moved to the Macintosh Hill's bunker? I told them they should make a debut and join Equestria but no, they were sticken' to the way of Sombra." The old man rambled.
"What the fuck are you talking about? This is the Brotherhood of Steel's symbol! From the sword, and the wings, and the gears!" Walker said.
The old man looked at him. "Oh dear, those aren't gears they're sparkles, magic sparkles! You aren't a member of the order! Damn it all!" The man planted his head on the counter. "But wait! They don't know you! Do you think you could get in and take the blueprints for some of the inventions? I'd pay you well!"
Walker thought it over for a moment before deciding. "I'll go and see, see , and that's it. Now tell me where this bunker is." The man nodded and pulled out a map; marking the location on it.
After a few hours of walking he found the bunker. Walking up he found a holo-scanner for tags. Taking off his tags he held them to the scanner; it read over them before opening the door. Entering slowly he found a room full of men wielding what looked like Laser-rifles.
"Halt who goes there?!" Asked the last man.
Walker looked them over for a moment, probably only one of them had any experience, the rest meant to look tough. "Knight Captain Walker Sulfridge, leader of squadron 435 Omega Zeta Steel Bravo River. Formerly under command of Elder Owyn Lyons, Capitol Wasteland Cell, recently under Elder Nolan McNamara until dismissed to advance into in a new area of the Wasteland; Common wealth sector - Boston."
hey gave him a strange look. "Very funny Captain, you had us going for a moment there. When did you go outside, and where's the 435?" The leader asked. What could they be talking about? "Hey wait... why aren't you wearing uniform?" He asked.
Playing along he just shrugged. "I found this in the storage room awhile ago and decided to start wearing it when I go out, not gonna wear my regulation equipment am I? Say, just to see if I need a hair cut, what did I look like last time you saw me?" Before he acted further he needed to see this.
The man scratched his chin for a moment. "Why not since we up rooted to here. You had that grizzled samurai-stache look going for you. I bet you got a full beard by now. Well you can go on in Warren, we'll see you later." He said before hitting a button and opening the large doors behind them.
Walker nodded and walked in. He walked around the bunker not being able to tell if it was like the remnants bunker, Hidden Valley, or Raven Rock. Eventually he came to a door reading "435 - Commandants Quarters." Figuring it was 'his' room he walked in.
He didn't know who 'Warren' was but he decided it best to try and stay away from him as much as possible. In the room was several sets of Power Armor and pictures of a man with a slim mustache and goatee. Walker grabbed one and looked at the words below it. "Warren Soldier- Former combat medic and newly appointed leader of squadron 435."
They didn't look like twins, but with a beard he figured he could pass for him. His duffle was stashed in a vent by the entrance, so he could easily grab it on his way out.
Walker grabbed one of the larger armor sets, it easily fit over his Elite Riot Gear. Walking out of the room he made for the command center, easily found by the signs on the walls.
In the middle of a ring sat a man in Elder's robes. "Elder." He said walking up and kneeling.
The man nodded and ordered. "Warren, what brings you to me?" He asked.
Walker stood and looked him over, any good man could read another; any man that acted on what he read knew to manipulate it. "Sir I went on a lone patrol - now give me a moment to justify." He said when the Elder tried interrupting. "I went to see what the people were doing and how they were acting. From what I saw; I think we should start distributing out our horded technology."
The elder thought it over for a moment. "Why should we?"
He smiled at the elderly man. "I saw men and women treating each other fairly, with order and sympathy. Justice was being served to the wicked, and honor was rewarded in the righteous. We give some of this technology; we advance and equip these people. You would go down in history as the man who advanced the world farther than it has been in hundreds of years."
Smiling the Elder nodded. "Very well, I shall set up a meeting with the Equestrian Government to talk about distributing and selling out the technology. But if this is a bad move; I'll personally execute you." Walker nodded and began to walk away.
"Elder Strong Scroll." Came a voice from near by. He turned to see a man in black Power Armor walking toward him. The man pulled something from his pocket, quick as lightning hit both Walker and the Elder with something.
Walker awoke drowsily for the first time in years. Looking around he saw the elder sitting in a chair across the room, with the man in black Power Armor in front of him.
"It has occurred to me and several other members of the order that you are incapable of running this shit." The Armored man said. The elder started to stand and say something; only to be struck with an electric caddle prod. "Sit your five dollar ass down before I make change."
The elder sat, reluctantly at that, and looked at the man. "Knight BlackSteel., I don't know what you are talking about. Now let me go, I am still acting Elder of this Brotherhood!" Strong Scroll yelled.
Steel walked around and leaned down to whisper in his ear; only to be tackled by Walker from behind. Walker grabbed the lighter he kept on him at all times, the same one from Boulder City, and lit it by the mans helmets respirators. A helmet respirator was good for many situations, but if they weren't closed when a gas explosion, or concentrated flame, was lit by them it was like breathing magma.
Steel screamed and thrashed, trying to expel the fire from himself and get the man off his back. After a second he just fell over stopped moving, his life signature disappearing from Walkers HUD.
"Thank you for saving me Warren." The elderly man said.
Walker chuckled slightly. "Well ya see about that... I'm not Warren. Apparently I'm someone that looks like him. I was hired by an Ex-Brother to steal your horded technology and distribute it, I decided to be more civil."
The elderly man looked him over. "Indeed you aren't him, thank you regardless. As a sign of my gratitude; when this is over I will personally over see the distribution of the technology. Now let's see about getting out of here, eh?"
Searching the mans body he grabbed the cattle prod and the small blow tube from him. He didn't really want to kill the men, just make them go night night till they go to prison.
Handing the cattle prod to the elder he nodded. "If we can get to the main chambers we can send out a message to those still loyal to you. Ya ready?" Walker asked him.
Strong Scroll smiled. "You know it."
From Hooves to Hands; the Dust Remains
Walker dug through the storage area on another set of brotherhood armor. For the last half an hour him and the Elder had been battling, albeit non-lethally, very hard through the bunkers hallways, looking for any remaining members that hold allegiance to Strong Scroll. So far they had found about 20, many of which had been sent through back passages to try and find more and reach the control area to broadcast to the others and the message of Steel's betrayal.
Finally he heard the voice, a small initiate they found hiding in a locker named Smashing Lance. His voice resonated through the halls over the intercom. "This is Initiate Smashing Lance speaking. Knight Steel has betrayed our brotherhood and wished to kill Elder Strong Scroll and take his place as Elder, while hoarding even more of our technology and plotting to take over Equestria. All knights, please lay down your arms and meet in the great hall for a ceremony."
Walker looked at Strong Scroll and smiled. "Looks like I win our little bet."
Strong Scroll smiled and shook his head. "Fine, but I still don't see why you only want 25 of the offered 50."
"Because I want you to give him a promotion as well." He smiled. As a man he wanted the cash; but as someone who once got a chance granted to do good by a superior, and rewarded after he knew what it could do to self esteem and efficiency.
Scroll nodded and pointed to a side door. "That shall lead you to the outside world. The main entrance is there, I hope you have achieved what you came for. And on that offer, I will send out letters to you and the princesses about the subject. We will meet soon." Walker nodded and ran toward the exit.
He found his things and re-geared himself. According to his Pip-Boy it was about 2100 hours. Time to head to Canterlot Memorial Hospital and check on his new friend.
He walked through the roads of Canterlot toward the hospital marked on his map. He had been walking all night, rather slowly at that. He was almost out of medical supplies and he had sprained his ankle. Normally he'd just smash some wood from an old chair and fashion a makeshift splint until he found a place to camp out. Now he had no wood, and no gauze to wrap it.
Limping into the hospital he found the nurse he talked to when he entered the first time. "I'm here to see that girl." He said in his cold, gravely voice.
She nodded. "Fluttershy is being held in the trauma ward, north corner, fifth floor." He nodded and made his way to the elevator. He made his way to the trauma ward and began checking rooms. After about ten minutes he found her room.
Inside the room sat all of her friends. "How is she holding up?" He asked no one particular.
"She's doing great no thanks to you." Spat Rainbow Dash from beside the cot. She jumped from her seat and about charged at him. As she got close and went to hit him, helmet and all, a hand shot seemingly out of nowhere and grabbed her arm.
Looking up she saw a light flicker through the dark red eye slots of his helmet. The more she looked the more it chilled her, a seemingly holy light, befitted with an under tone of something dark, something from the depths of hell. "I think she's all the better thanks to me, for she could still be sitting in a cave, with no light, and only the feeling of the cold ground and the hot breath of a marauder as he rapes her. You should be thankful I decided to care."
The tears spilled out from her eyes at the words. Perhaps it was his fault this happened, but it was also because he cared enough to bring her here for medical care. The other girls looked on astonished, the famous Rainbow Dash had been all but reduced to a pile of sobbing rubble by this man. He removed his visor and walked over to Fluttershy's cot.
"What did they say is wrong with her?"
Twilight stepped forward. "She was beaten pretty bad, they say she has some pretty major bone damage and that the trauma done to her may be permanent."
Grimacing at the words he pulled off his A.L.I.C.E pack, filled with his medical supplies. "Close that door, I caused this and I'm about to fix it, with what little supplies I have left." Applejack closed the door and turned ust as he pulled something from his Pip-Boy. It seemed to be a flash drive of some sort.
Before they could ask what he was doing he cut a piece of his scalp off and planted the device. Without warning a male voice came from his Pip-Boy. "Well what have we here. Thought you'd never use that device we rigged up. Need a bit of medical advice?"
Walker nodded and began setting tools and devices out from the bag. "You know what's wrong. I was thinking going in and using some of the healing gel from the mother ship directly to the damaged areas."
A rumble came from the device. "No, try using the sonic-transmitter on revelation. The shock wave will create a pulse and increase blood flow within the areas, making a stimpak more useful."
"Yes but the force wave from this close could shatter her spine. What about using the transmitter on the gel set to opera singer. That would cause the same rippling effect on the area and heal part of the wound internally through the skin as it is absorbed. Then we could pop a stimpak and that would heal internally."
His brain waited for a moment. "That would also take something alive holding the gel. Who would be stupid enou-" Before he could finish his sentence Walker had the gel in his palm and the transmitter aimed directly at it. "I didn't even need to ask did I."
Pulling the trigger five times and wincing all the while he jolted the healing gel full of the sub-sonic waves. "No you didn't. This should do it." He tucked the small radio transmitter device and began to apply the gel to the areas pointed out by Twilight as he went.
As the gel ran dry and he had covered the afflicted areas he pulled a super stimpak and sterilized the needle. Grabbing the small girls arm he jammed the needle into the vein most prominent. Fluttershy seemed to jump at the sudden injection.
Looking at the sudden jump in her vitals he figured it was working to full effect. Banging came from the door as doctors and nurses also noticed the spike in vitals. Pulling the small device from his head and replacing the piece of scalp he headed for the door clutching his hand.
Opening it he nodded to the doctor. "Sorry sir, she woke up and I slipped and fell, smashed my hand and tore my stitches on my head, she freaked and passed back out. Think you could help me?" The doctor looked flabbergasted at the man. Nodding he helped Walker to the room over.
All the girls looked at each other with looks of shock. For a cold killing man he was cunning and smart. And just as well, Twilight would have to ask about that thing in his head.
Walker entered the room once more to see Fluttershy awake for real. Walking over he took a knee by the bed and asked her a few questions, starting with. "Are you okay?"
The doctor beat her to the answer. "She's remarkable. Something suddenly healed her miraculously. As though it were science fiction." Walker just smiled and turned back to Fluttershy.
Twilight stepped up. "Walker, um, what was that thing you did with your head."
Turning he looked at her for a moment before realizing what she meant. "Back in the think tank I realized how smart my brain was. So me and the floaters came up with a device that would go in my head over my brain and connect to my neural membrane. The piece from my pip- boy allows it access to my radio and allows it to speak. So I can talk to my sub-conscious with my untapped intelligence. Basically I kick my brain into over drive and allow myself to talk to myself and actively know everything in my brain."
She was dumb struck. He had found a way to talk to himself, through himself, and use every aspect of his brain at once. "SO you make yourself into the ultimate thing. You can see, hear, know, and feel with everything in your head, and computers?" He nodded with a grin.
Applejack stepped up with a single question. "Why did you do that for her?"
It was unexpected to say the least. Questions like that are never truly answerable without looking at everything deeply. He supposed he would ask an old friend for the answer. "Because we all gotta fight the good fight, for each other. The one rule we got in the big fight is; you wanna help, you gotta contribute."
His answer held a philosophical meaning and seemed okay. They accepted it and continued. "Well," said the doctor. "It seems everything is okay. We should be able to release you as soon as you sign these papers." He said handing Fluttershy a stack of documents.
She wrote her signature and initialed wherever it said and handed back the papers. "Alright, now you all have a pleasant day." Walker helped Fluttershy from the cot and to the door.
"Um, Walker. You may wanna let her get some clothes on first." Turning he looked on confused, till he realized she was just wearing the hospital gown and undergarments. Grinning sheepishly he let go of her arm and walked off to the exit.
He exited the hospital and found the main road to Ponyville. He hadn't slept in two days, and he knew a couch that he hadn't exactly taken an offer on- well he was going to now.
From Hooves to Hands; the Dust Remains
Same shit, different universe.
It was dark, almost to dark. The only light that was shed on the area was that coming from the moon and the strip miles away.
Walker sat atop a lone ridge looking down upon a large canyon with many legion dogs. "According to that recording the guy is camping beside the river at the other end of this canyon. Best to get a start." He told himself pulling the sniper rifle from the duffel bag on his back; it was upgraded with a silencer and carbon fiber parts to make it lighter.
Looking down the scope he aimed at a lone legion scout. "Lights out buddy." He pulled the trigger and watched as the body fell down with a new blood stain on the canyon floor.
He quickly readjusted his aim and fired at the next guy. Body after body fell until eventually he missed. The Legion runner looked up and was about to run when a bullet blew out his right leg.
Walker slid down the smooth canon wall and put the rifle on his back again. Walking close he looked down at the man with his leg now missing. Sniveling and crying he looked up at the man standing above him. "Kill me." Was all that was said before Walker pulled his 1911 and put a silenced round through the mans skull.
Looking down at the pistol in his hand he remembered the day he bought it from Joshua Graham as well as the HD Slide and Silencer. Grabbing the used shell from the ground he began to search the bodies. 25 Denarius and a couple of pistol rounds (to which would later be used to make .45 rounds) later he was moving through the canyon again.
He had the pistol out and was in a crouch surveying the area. He wore the Elite Riot Gear with the low light optic helmet. In his duffel bag he had his sniper rifle, the survivalist rifle, some binoculars, a shovel, his health stuff, food, a spare of clothes, items to fix damages on his clothes, misc items, etc.
On his side he wore his silenced 1911, and on his left hip a broad machete, underneath of his duster was a special toy for those dark moments.
Walker just kept walking, silence. It was that old eerie silence that comes from the empty of the waste and chills you even under the Mojave sun. In Big Mountain there was a record, a small room in the corner of the complex. It was so quiet you could hear your blood flowing. Walker walked in it once, when he heard the silence it was like nothing he could even understand, then he remembered the silence of the waste and how hearing nothing was worse than hearing your blood flow. The sound of his blood distracted him, but in the waste the sound of nothing allows you to think, and in a world like this, that is not a good thing.
He opened the door to the small shack that was the destination of the package. "Anyone home?" Nothing. Yet something, a creaking noise it sounded like.
Closing the door he walked to the back. BOOM Turning he saw a mother death claw standing where the wall once had been with a murderous look on her face.
When she swung he jumped over the low sweep and out the hole. Rolling out of the dive he looked around for something to use to help defeat her. To one side sat a dead legionnaire with a hunting shotgun by his side.
Looking back he saw her swing again and jumped toward the dead scout. Grabbing the shotgun he flipped around and began firing in her direction. When he emptied the shotgun he looked to see he had blown out her right eye and nothing more. "Fuck me."
Jumping up and throwing down the shotgun he ran back toward the shack. Stopping at the hole in the wall he reached under his duster. Out from the coat came a shimmering 1911 with a short barrel and inscriptions in Greek, the trigger was skelatonized and the handle was snake skin. He had found what the writing meant a long time ago and started shouting it when he used the pistol.
"And the light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not!" He yelled unloading the clip into the abomination. Stumbling forward as Walker reloaded the pistol it snarled before jumping back at him. Jumping back he made for somewhere deeper in the shack.
Running in he felt himself go airborne as it hit him. Smashing into a shelf he closed his eyes and put the gun barrel to his head. "Momma forgive me."
In a swift motion he aimed at a box of landmines that had been sitting next to the opening. As the deathclaw entered the round hit the mines and exploded, taking the deathclaws legs with them. The explosion hit a circut box on the wall and caused it to explode.
Before it completely was destroyed he traced it to a strange terminal in the corner. Attached to the terminal by a cord was what looked like a transportalonder. "This can't end well."
As the last word left his lips the terminal exploded and a shock-wave hit him. It was unlike the Big Mountain Transportalponder in he didn't feel anything. It was like he was nothing, and there was nothing.
After a moment he felt something like a wall slamming him. For a moment he could see the forest; as dark and gloomy as it seemed. "I'm telling you, that noise wa- AHHH!" Then darkness.
From Hooves to Hands; the Dust Remains
Waking up to unfamiliar scenery.
Twilight watched as Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash loaded the man's body into the stretcher. "I wonder what happened to him. Why is he wearing that armor?" She asked to no one in-particular.
"I dunno Twi," Rainbow started. "But he sure is heavy!" She complained.
Applejack cut in. "If it's to heavy for ya Ah could take the reigns. Though Fluttershy seems to be having no problems." She laughed at the girl with the rainbow hair.
"Shh... keep it down. Don't you remember where we are? The Everfree forest! Filled with monsters and bandits an-" She looked down at the mud she just stepped in. "Mud!" She cried out.
Rolling her eyes Twilight spoke again. "We should keep going, I think this guy needs to get to a hospital ASAP." All the girls nodded.
After a few minutes of walking a Manticore appeared from behind a tree. Without warning the man on the stretcher jumped up and charged at the monster. Pulling a pistol from a holster beneath his duster he released a torrent of bullets at it.
Recoiling from the projectiles it didn't see as he ran at it with a machete in hand. Holstering the pistol he jumped and held the handle with both hands. Plunging the machete down it the beast skull.
Pulling the broad machete from it's skull he fell back onto the ground once more. All the girls starred at him; none could form a coherent word to say anything.
Eventually Twilight broke the silence. "Perhaps we should um... hurry and get him to the hospital." All the girls nodded and grabbed the man, taking special care to grab the machete and not get blood on themselves.
Walker awoke to a feeling he hadn't felt in a long time, something soft. Opening his eyes from the unfamiliar sensation he looked around.
He discovered he was in what looked to be a clean place; was he in the Sink? No, the walls were to white and bed to soft.
"H-hello sir." A voice said from beside him. Turning he could see a girl with pink hair sitting in a chair; considering all the colors of hair he had seen in the waste it wasn't shocking.
"Hello, where am I?" That's when he realized he was still wearing his helmet. Pulling the releases on each side he pulled the helmet off.
Sighing Fluttershy realized she wan't talking to a cyborg. None of the girls, or doctors could figure out how to remove the armor from the man. "Y-you're in Ponyville hospital. I-I'm Fluttershy."
"Couldn't catch that."
"[Fluttershy." She repeated a little louder. He gave her a look to show he still couldn't understand her. "F-fluttersy."
"Oh, well nice to meet you. I'm Walker... wait... where is Ponyville? Is it in the Common Wealth?" He asked her.
She wasn't doing so well, the girls had agreed they'd take shifts so that when he awoke they could talk to him, she didn't expect to be the one who was there when he woke up. "N-no, it's in Equestria."
He still had never heard of such a place but figured it to be outside of his range of knowledge, maybe it was in old world Mexico or something. "Never heard of it. Pleased to meet you though!" he said extending his hand, he was always taught to make a good first impression; unless the person was an asshole.
She recoiled when his hand came at her. For a moment he was shocked before realizing how shy she was and apologizing. Gingerly she loosened up and extended her hand to shake, he had a strong grip.
"Um... if you think you can I think we should go and meet the others... if that's okay with you." SHe told him before standing up.
Standing and popping what seemed like every bone in his body he nodded and followed her.
Walker had seen trees, he had found Oasis in the capitol and even became close friends with Harold the man who became a tree. But never in his life had he seen anything like this.
Exiting the hospital and looking to the right he could see fields and fields of tall trees with blobs of red in them. Reaching back to grab the binoculars from his bag he noticed it wasn't there. "Where is my bag?! Was it stolen?! I have to find it!" He yelled taking off his duster and looking at it.
Before Fluttershy could say anything he began to spin in circles like a dog chasing it's tail. Removing the duster she could see how toned his muscles were through the black shirt he wore under his armor. She blushed at the fact that she noticed that.
"Um... Twilight has it at the library." She told him.
Stopping trying to reach down the back of his shirt he looked at her. "Oh, well lead on." He said motioning forward and putting his duster back on.
After about ten minutes of walking in silence they arrived at a tree that had windows. "Holy shit!" Was all he managed to say before running up and looking at it. She looked at him with amusement; never had she seen anyone react so strangely to a tree.
"Hello sir." Twilight said from the entrance to the tree. "You act as though you've never seen a tree before." SHe laughed.
"Not many, just a few. Though I did kill a man who grew a tree from his head, name was Harold. I miss him, though Bob can be fun to talk to, as much of dick he is." He said to her scratching his beard slightly.
Fluttershy and Twilight gave him a strange look. "Um... well anyway we had some questions for you." Twilight said.
Nodding he extended his arm to shake. "Sounds okay. Name's Walker."
"Twilight Sparkle." She said shaking his large hand.
So many questions! He was on question 203 by now at least. "So one last question... Who are you?"
"The million cap question... How about this." He said bringing up his wrist and the strange device attached.
After a few seconds of clicking buttons and such he found the right file. "Walker Sulfridge, has been in numerous battles. Currently is wearing Elite Riot Gear. "Stupid thing... must be talking to the Auto-Doc again." He said clicking off the device.
The girls gave him a sad look. "You were cast out of your home?" Asked Twilight.
"Your father died?" asked Fluttershy. Before he could respond the girls were attached to his midsection.
He tried prying them off. "W-what are you doing! Let go of me!" He yelled. Last time he had been hugged was by his father when he was 10 years old, when they had taken a picture together after he killed that rad-roach with his BB gun.
Thinking of the moment brought back the memory of his father and everything that had happened. Jumping up he ran out of the library. He needed to kill something, now.
The girls watched him run out. "Oh goodness what have we done?!" Fluttershy asked Twilight.
She frowned. "I don't know, but I think we should give him some space." She told the shy girl next to her. "I believe I should write a letter to the princess about this, as well as try and find out what half of the things he said are."
Walker was running through the town at full speed. Running eventually into the forest.
After a minute he heard a noise. "I'm telling ya man, we rob that library we's done! The princesses student lives there!" Said a feminine voice to his left. Crouching and making his way over he looked at the small group of five, many had assorted firearms and the others had knives or some form of melee weapon.
Standing he stepped forward and coughed to announce himself. The closest person to him, a man with a combat knife jumped at him. When he cam e in reach he brought his fist forward and punched him in the jaw. With the stun manned in grasp he grabbed his arm and pulled him close.
Using the body as a shield when the first bullets left the guns he grabbed the knife and jumped at the woman to his left, in her hands were a .357 magnum with, from what he heard, 3 shots still in the chamber.
Jumping at her he planted the knife into her throat and flipped around her just in time for the body to catch the bullets. Grabbing the gun and still using her body as a shield he entered vats and marked his targets. BANG BANG BANG! Echoed through the forest as he pulled the trigger and tree of the people died.
Pulling the knife he threw the body on the ground and looked at them all, to easy. Dropping the knife he turned to see a blonde woman behind him. "Wow, ya are very deadly. Ya jus' wiped out the bandits that 'ave been harassing the town fer almost a year now." She said looking at his work.
Scoffing he began to walk away. "Hay wait! Ah'm Applejack, I reckon yer Walker? I just saw Twilight and she told me about you."
"Did she tell you how I ran out of her house? Or that I'm crazy?" He said still walking away.
She followed him. "No but ah just found out that you can fight, and that if you collect that bounty that was on them bandit's ye'll have 500 bits in yer pocket." He just sighed. No true person in the waste had bounties on them, just groups as a whole.
"Don't need your money. I'm just gonna go back and apologize to Twilight and Fluttershy for storming out." He said entering the town limits.
"Well Twilight's at the Library, and Fluttershy is at her cottage outside of town." She said still following. Stopping she watched him go. "Ah don't trust him." She said to herself.
Walker had just left Twilight's after telling her how sorry he was and that he wished to tell Fluttershy how sorry he was. She told him it was okay and gave him back his things before giving him directions to her cottage.
He followed her directions to the dot and arrived at a house, that also appeared to have a tree growing out of it. Knocking he noticed how late it had become. When the door opened he didn't see anyone, till he looked down to see a creature starring at him. "The fuck you looking at?" he spat at it before kicking it away and walking in. "Fluttershy? You here?" He called out.
A small squeaking noise was heard from his left along with the clattering of many pots. Looking at the heads up display given to him by his Pip-Boy he saw only one signature. Pulling his .45 he walked in and looked around, no one.
Walking closer he looked at the signature, it was not in sight, but still on his display. Walking closer he saw Fluttershy on the ground in the middle of some pan. "You okay?" He asked her, holstering his side arm.
Another squeak. "Oh y-yes I'm fine." Se said collecting the pan and piling them on the nearby counter. Reaching down he grabbed her hand and helped her up. Then she realized who was there. "Oh Walker you had us so worried!" She squealed attaching herself to his mid-section.
No matter how much he pried she wouldn't seem to come off. "Yeah, I just wanted to apologize for storming out earlier." He said still trying to remove her. "And that it wasn't right for me to do that."
Finally she released him. "Oh, well it's okay; as long as you don't do it again." She smiled, not as shy it seemed when they met upon his awakening.
He smiled back and started walking toward the door. "Well I'll see you, gotta find a place to camp before it gets to late." He told her.
When he reached the door she called out. "W-wait! Um... I was just um... wondering if you'd like to stay for dinner... if that's okay with you of course." There's her being shy again he thought.
"I'd love too." He told her turning and taking off his thick duster.
Never in his life had he such a delicious meal, nothing in the vault compared to that meal; let alone the waste. After sitting for a moment to pull himself together from the meal he stood and grabbed his duster and bag. "Thank you for the meal Miss Shy, I think I'll take my leave now."
"Oh but it's dark out, I insist you stay here for the night. You can take the couch, angel won't mind giving up his spot will you angel?" She asked the little creature.
It looked at Walker and huffed. "Ma'am that's alright, I can just camp out in the was- I mean forest." He corrected himself.
"I insist you stay here, just for tonight please." She commanded. The way she spoke reminded him of Sarah in many ways.
Sighing he admitted to defeat. "Alright, but only for tonight. You may just be too kind Miss Shy."
Giggling she just waved it off. "Kindness is my element." And with that they both went to their respective sleeping places and laid down for the night. It had been a long day.
