Adventures of a Fisherpony
Chapter 5
Previous ChapterNext ChapterAfter his encounter with the atheletic, if not somewhat rude, Rainbow Dash, Cod seemed to be wandering around the town, as if looking for something. Noticing this Stormy couldn’t help but speak up.
“Hey Mister Cod Piece? What are you looking for? Are you looking for somepony or something?” she asked as he followed closely behind him, oddly attracted to his tail, the vast amount of hair tied at the end to make it a somewhat manageable poof calling out to her young curiosity.
“Well…I’m lookin’ fer an inn or somewhere I can be put up fer the night, gotta get up really early tomorrow to get back to fishin’.”
“Oh….well I don’t think we have an inn here…a small town like this doesn’t see a lot of tourism so there isn’t really any need for an inn.”
Cod stopped midstep at the filly’s words, letting out a sigh and scratching the back of his neck. He took on a troubled look as he received this new information, he needed a place to sleep but there was no inn and he didn’t know anyone who lived here well enough to crash at their place….He actually didn’t really know anybody here other than the mares he met today and Stormy.
“Oh…..is that so?....well no worries I can figure somethin’ out, I can probably just find a nice place to camp out if need be.” He said with a half-hearted smile, heading back in the direction of the river “You should be headin’ home Stormy! I’m sure yer parents are worried sick about ya!” Cod shouted over his shoulder as he waved goodbye to the filly.
Stormy tensed up a bit at the mention of parents but smiled and waved to him anyhow.
“Oh…uh yeah…..I’ll see you around I guess!” once she was sure Cod was out of earshot she sighed and walked down the streets of town with her hands in her jacket pockets. “If only my parents ever cared about me...."
Several years ago at Matterhorn Manor, the manor of an esteemed noble unicorn family, a fancy invite only party was in the works, many nobles and elites stood around idly chatting of their accomplishments in business, or their wonderful children’s achievements in their boarding schools or nobleman’s sports that have been played by nobles for centuries, or the general boring story that others would play off as entertaining just to kiss up to the lord or lady of the manor.
“….and so I said’Four star? What do you take me for? And upper middle classman?” said the lord of the manor, earning laughs and giggles from the ponies who surrounded him just to bask in his company.
He was, as to be expected, a well groomed unicorn stallion who was dressed properly as well, his dark black mane was slicked back and trimmed to a acceptable length, his light grey coat of fur was well kept just like his mane and gave off a healthy shine. His attire consisted of a stylish and classic black suit with the only accessory being a gold chain to a pocket watch, dangling out the coat pocket. He was essentially the perfect image of a noble unicorn stallion with a great reputation.
“Pardon me everyone, I have a small matter to attend to.” He said as he headed towards the kitchen to speak with his chef
“O-Oh….hello my lord, are the refreshments and orderves to everyones liking? I would hope I haven’t caused any trouble to you by mistake or-“
“No no Mr. Souflet everything is fine…..I just came to remind you to feed the child….” He said with a noticeable coldness to his voice as he uttered the word child.
“Oh yes…..your daughter, I shall take care of that right now.”
“Mr. Souflet, she may be the product of my wife and I’s lovemaking….but to have both unicorn parents and be born without a horn…..she is no child of mine….she is a burden….now take her meal down to her in the cellar……I can not have her ruining anything by making an unexpected appearance at the party.” He said as he swiftly exited the kitchen to return to his guests.
With a sigh Mr. Souflet grabbed a plate of a pre-made meal and headed to the cellar, opening the door and setting it on the top step that led down. “Dinner time Stormy….” He said before closing the door.
The plate remained untouched for some time as a navy blue filly sat leaning against the wall, her knees curled up into her chest as she sat in the darkness in silence.
Cod had made his way over to the river that traveled behind the town hall and looked around for a while hoping there would be somewhere that could shelter him for the night, he settled on just going to the stone bridge that went over the river to the marketplace and sighed setting his things down, pulling a blue hoodie out of his bag and slipping it on, he kept the hood over his head as he leaned back against the side of the bridge.
“Well…not ideal but it’ll have to do for tonight.” He said to himself as he closed his eyes, only to be jolted by the rumbling of thunder in the distance and the tell-tale pitter-patter of rain on the top of the bridge.
“…..Well piss…” he groaned as he knew he would have trouble sleeping with the thunderstorm tonight.
It was a sunny, if not somewhat damp, morning in Ponyville as the first rays of light made their way under the bridge and straight onto the face of the sleeping fisherman, who groaned and rolled over onto his side to hopefully block the annoying light with his back.
To say that Cod had not slept well last night would be an understatement. Coupled with the pouring rain, thunder and lightning that persisted throughout the night, there was a powerful wind blowing rain right under the bridge and onto him as he tried to sleep, and there was a rather active couple in the house right next to the bridge who seemed to both share an over active libido, and love for kinky playthings that caused shrieks, moans, and, of course, screams.
The ray of light managed to reflect off the water under the bridge and straight back onto Cod’s face, causing him to groan in a frustrated manner and sit up, rubbing his sore back and neck from having to sleep on the cold hard ground.
“…..today is not a good day fer me….” was all he could say as he stood up and cracked his achy back and neck, causing him to grunt loudly each time a pop from his joints echoed under the bridge.
Gathering his things up he headed further down the stream towards the outskirts of town where he was hoping nobody would be at this time of day. After walking for about ten minutes he reached a small pond that seemed to be isolated away from the town, it’s waters were clear and looked so refreshing since it had been untouched by civilization.
Cod smiled as he then set his things down and began pulling his hoodie and t-shirt off, followed by his jeans which he unceremoniously tossed in a heap onto his bag, leaving him in his boxers which quickly joined the rest of his clothes. Quite sure he was alone Cod was standing on the bank of the pond as naked as he was the day he was born. Taking a deep breath he ran and jumped into the pond, the cold waters immediately washing away any remnants of fatigue out of him.
“Holy hell! This water is colder than a nun’s lonely shriveled up babybox!” he shouted as he shivered a bit standing waist deep in the water, after a few minutes though he found himself getting accustomed to the temperature and began swimming about, trying to wash some of the stench of his sweat and dirt off of him. After a few more minutes in the water he left the pond and grabbed a towel from his bag to quickly dry his fur off. He hummed to himself as he tossed his towel aside and began to redress himself, so as not to be seen by the unlikely passerby.
After he was satisfied with his backwoods bathing ritual he began to head back towards town, obviously unaware of an elongated protrusion that traveled down the leg of his jeans, that seemed to wriggle every few seconds, obviously alive.
As Cod walked through the streets of Ponyville towards the market for some breakfast, he couldn’t help but notice all the stares he got from ponies he passed by, especially mares who seemed to point and giggle to each other, or even keep their gaze following the stallion for a few moments.
“Huh….never got this many looks from ponies yesterday…..wonder if it’s the new jeans….they are pretty nice…” he pondered as he found his way to a stand that sold apples, and other apple related foods.
“Well look who it is, how ya doin’ this mornin’ Cod?” said the orange farm mare who Cod had the pleasure of meeting yesterday.
“Oh, hey there Applejack, just lookin’ fer somethin’ to eat is all…gotta get some food ifin’ I wanna catch some fish.” He said with a smile.
Applejack smiled and set a small basket of apples on the stand in front of Cod “Well I can give ya a dozen apples fer 5 bits, some of the best apples you’ll ever have too.”
Cod shrugged and reached into his pocket placing the bits on the counter but couldn’t help but notice more mares passing by and giggling as they looked at him. “Hey Applejack….why are all these mares gigglin’ at me?...Do I got somethin’ on my face?”
Applejack just shrugged and took the bits set on the counter before her. “Maybe they just think yer a cute stranger who blew into town, I wouldn’t worry about it so much.” She said with a dismissive wave.
Cod just decided to go along with her assumption and grabbed the basket of apples turning and heading off in the direction of the river. As he walked Applejack couldn’t help but notice the elongated shape that traveled down along Cod’s pant leg and went past his knee slightly, the shape seemed to wriggle a bit, causing Applejack to shudder at the sight.
Oh, don’t tell me that colt went swimming in THAT pond…..hope he notices it soon or he’ll be bled dry…
Cod sat down next to the river and bit into an apple as he examined the waters of it, wondering what would be best to fish for, but he couldn’t help but look down and notice the protrustion along his pantleg. Obviously curious at the bulge he clenched his apple in his teeth and unzipped his jeans, pulling them down to unmask the unknown protrustion, he gasped a bit causing his apple to fall to the ground with a soft thud, attached to his thigh was an eel like creature he knew all too well about, a blood sucking sea lamprey.
“Dammit….that’s why them mares were laughin’……they thought this here lamprey was……oh jeez…..” he blushed slightly and pushed the dirty thoughts out of his mind as he sat on the ground and grabbed hold of the eel like bloodsucker and tried to pull it off of his thigh, grunting as the lamprey gripped tight with its suction, wriggling about in his grip to make it more difficult to be gripped by the stallion.
“Cmon now! Get the hell offa me!” he grunted as he kept trying to pull the lamprey off, his efforts being rewarded as the lampreys grip gave way and was yanked from his thigh, leaving a mark where its hundreds of gripping needle-like teeth had jabbed into his skin and a big red circle where the sharp teeth on its tongue had bored into his flesh to create a blood flow.
With a sigh Cod tossed the, now well fed, lamprey into his bucket hoping he could find someone who wanted to buy it when he would sell it on the market. As he stood up and began to pull his jeans back up, he was caught off guard by a cough from a filly who had apparently seen the whole fiasco right behind him.
“Oh……hey Stormy…..there’s a……good reason for why I don’t have pants on right now…..”
