The Cold in My Heart

The sound of the TARDIS could be heard from the edge of Ponyville. The TARDIS door creaked open, and The Doctor and Derpy walked out.

"Doctor, why did the TARDIS bring us back home?" Derpy asked. "I don't know. But I believe we may have a link to our Wendigo problem." The Doctor replied. The Doctor pulled out his sonic screwdriver. He scanned shortly, and found a low frequency. "Aha! The trail leads towards Town." The Doctor started.

"But that doesn't make any sense, Wendigos don't commonly look for happiness." Derpy started to shiver. "Doctor, do you feel that cold air?" She asked.The Doctor began to shiver. "Yes. I believe they've been here. Let's go." He said. The Doctor and Derpy followed the cold air they felt. It ended at SugarCube Corner.

"So the trail ends at SugarCube Corner? Fascinating. Let's go see." The Doctor said.

"Doctor, if we go in there won't we freeze?" Derpy asked.The Doctor laughed.

"Oh Ditzy Doo, you underestimate me. We can't freeze, we aren't feeling negative emotions. Anyways, let's go!"

Inside SugarCube Corner they felt the air at its coldest. It was coming from a unicorn. This dark blue stallion was eating cupcakes minding his own business, but no pony would go near him so some odd reason.

"Doctor, it's coming from that unicorn. But why is he so cold?" Derpy asked.

"I don't know Ditzy. I think he has Wendigos inside him. Let me check." The Doctor replied.

The doctor approached the dark blue unicorn. The unicorn looked at the doctor, but showed little care.

“Hello there, you seem to be very cold. Too cold in fact. Have you noticed?” Said the Doctor.

The blue unicorn turned his head to face the Doctor. His eyes were purposely half-open, showing low concern. He was chewing on a cupcake he was eating. After a slow swallow, he finally opened his mouth and spoke.

“No, I haven’t. And I wouldn’t care. Who are you?” He said.

“Oh, I’m the Doctor.” The Doctor said.

The blue unicorn stood on all his legs. He walked toward the Doctor. His horn started glowing a light yellow aura. The magic scanned the Doctor. The yellow aura moved over the Doctor’s chestnut body, starting from his front hooves up to his brown mane. After the unicorn stopped scanning, he lowered his head.

"My apologies. I've just been meeting strange characters lately. I'm Iceflake." He said.

"Ah well Iceflake, I think I know what is going in with you. I need to ask, how you encounter any unusual cold lately?" The Doctor asked.

"I'm normally cold-bodied so I can't tell, but I did feel a bit chilly today, but I guess I was too busy chowing down to notice, why do you ask doctor? "Asked Iceflake.

"Because a group of Wendigo escaped and are running lose  in Equestria." Said Derpy speaking up.

"I've heard of those, but I thought they were just a myth!" Iceflake said astonished.

"Oh you'll find a lot of myths are true with me. Fascinating isn't it?" The Doctor said very diligently. Derpy and Iceflake looked at the Doctor, unamused.

"Anyways, I think that moment you walked in the Wendigos fused inside you." Iceflake looked confused.

"But how and why?" He asked.

"It's quite simple. Are you a quiet and self-exiled pony?" The Doctor asked.

Iceflake nodded his head. "Ah, just as I suspected." The Doctor stated. Iceflake looked confused, as well as Derpy.

"Doctor, what are you talking about?" Derpy asked.

"It's quite simple really. If he is self exiled, he cut himself off from Equestria, making him an easier target." The Doctor explained.

Iceflake was dumbstruck. He knew he didn't like talking to other ponies, but he didn't know it would cause this. A crazy stallion and a cross-eyed mare saying he was infused by Wendigos. Iceflake tried to wrap his head aroung what was going on.

"So, because I don't like other ponies, I'm infected by Wendigos? He asked.

"Exactly. So the only way to reverse this, for you to become more in touch with others." The Doctor stated. Iceflake turned away and lowered his head.

"Never." He said as cold as his body. The Doctor and Derpy looked at him with surprised and confused looks.

"No? Why not?" Derpy asked. Iceflake's head lowered and his ears drooped, he turned and began to tell about his past.
