Darkness... He still didn't like it... He tried to wake up but couldn't as he tried and tried but couldn't open his eyes. He felt like he was trying to wake up from an eternal slumber for years now as time passed by. He was nowhere, but then again he was there. He couldn't explain it as he just felt like he was floating in what he thought was in his dreams, or his mind, or maybe the darkness he was in. He didn't know anything as he just saw the darkness and the darkness alone. Did he give up or was he still trying at this point? Was he dreaming or was he... was he dead?

Then he felt a hand. It was sudden as he now felt the wind flying by his body as the hand pulled his. He held on to the mystery hand as he saw the darkness fade away and light come back into his world. As it did the light showed the back of a mare, an alicorn to be exact as he couldn't recognize who it was at the moment from the wind blowing into his eyes. The darkness faded as their flight slowed down as the light took whole of his world and they floated in a white abyss. With the strong wind gone all that was left was for his eyes to get used to the white as he strained his eyes trying to fully open them but couldn't as he felt them reject the light. He could make out the dark alicorn turning to him still holding his hand as she spoke.

"It's time to wake up" Then she let go.

Shining opened his eyes. He drew in a quick breath as if he it was his first in a very long time. He had awoken to the sound of beeping as he turned his head to whatever was making the sound and spotted a monitor with what he thought were his vitals on the screen. He spotted the wires in his field of view leading to his body as he looked down and saw a couple attached to his chest. He noticed that he was on a bed and sat up as feeling some soreness in his ribs but not as much as he could pick himself up from the bed without help. As he sat there he removed the little plugs on him causing the heart beeps to stop.

Then he was there.

Shining felt the presence behind him as he felt the wind suddenly shift from behind his bed. He turned his upper body while turning his head seeing the red coat first followed by the golden hair and eyes. Sitting there in the window by his bed was the human. The one that saved him. He just sat there with a look of relief as Shining stood up to talk to him. Shining was going to say something but stopped as the human brought a finger to his lips saying "Shhhh" grinning softly as he did. Shining took a second before nodding. He heard the door click from the other side of the room as he whipped his head to it and stared. The door opened before Shining could say anything as he was suddenly charged by his sister.

"Shining!" Twilight said as he felt her arms around him in the sudden embrace. He went from being surprised to happy as he hugged her back watching his family walk in through the door also.

"We came as fast as we could!" His mom said as she joined in on the hug.

"The Princess told us you were in an accident? Are you alright?" His dad said as he put a firm hand on his shoulder trying to look manly as he kept his best poker face trying not to cry.

"I'm alright now" Shining said as he smiled bright trying to reassure his family.

He didn't like worrying his family like this, especially someone like Twilight who was close to the Princess. He didn't want Twilight to bother Princess Celestia about his brothers duties and how they could get him hurt so that's why he told the Princess that if anything happened to him to just say it was an accident. Thanks to his dad he could see that the Princess honored his wishes and smiled inside. He would be sure to thank her later. Speaking of thanking, he suddenly remembered the human Ed and cleared his throat.

"But if it wasn't for-"

"Hello?" Shining stopped as he recognized the interrupting voice. He watched as Twilight moved away from him giving him a clear sight to the door as he spotted his savior again. He looked from the window then back to the door as he had just been mind blown.

"Ed!" Twilight said as she suddenly went from his side to the humans as she gave him a hug.

"Hey Twilight" Ed said as he hugged back briefly before letting go.

"I thought you were with the Princess learning about your magic?" She asked him as he grinned and chuckled.

"Well so far there isn't anything to teach me so they decided to let me come visit your brother with you since I can't really do much" Ed said as he turned to rest of them.

"Hello my name is Edward Elric, I'm a human" He said smiling as he bowed a little towards them.

Shining saw that he wasn't wearing his red coat anymore and that his expressions were completely different from their last meeting. It's like he was a whole another persona so to speak. He looked to his parents who were shocked at the sudden appearance of the human. Maybe it wasn't his appearance but the fact that Twilight had so excitedly hugged him that caught them off guard. Or maybe it was both, though the only thing that separated him from the rest of the ponies was that he didn't have fur all along his body and that his facial structure was a tad bit different from the regular pony. He pushed his thoughts aside as he saw his mom walk up to the human as he stopped bowing and offered a hand to him.

"Twilight Velvet" She said as she smiled softly at him.

"Pleasure to meet you Ms. Velvet" Ed accepted the handshake smiling back at the mare as he did.

Soon they let go and Ed was rushed by his father as he stuck his hand out and grabbed Ed's hand.

"Night Light" He said with a grin as Shining could see his father’s hand shaking a little as he gave Ed a handshake.

His mom just sighed as she and Shining already knew what he was doing. He always liked seeing if Twilight's new stallion friends were stronger than him, it was usually in his favor as Shining knew that his father was still strong even after retiring from the royal guard. Though this time he had a suspicion that he was going to lose this time in strength.

"Also a pleasure Mr. Light" Ed said as he gave a playful grin.

Edward and his father stood there for a few seconds before they let go. Shining could see the confusion in his father’s face as he moved past Ed letting the human see him as he and the human stood face to face.

"Shining Armor I take it?" Ed asked in a question causing Shining to raise an eyebrow before remembering what he said earlier at the window.

"Shhhh"

Shining didn't know what to do but just smiled as he guess he could play along for now.

"That's me" He said as he raised a hand and they shook.

"Twilight didn't tell me she had a brother" Ed said as he turned his head slightly grinning at the mare as she could be seen blushing a little like a little kid.

"Well Twilight didn't tell me she had a coltfriend" Shining said as he grinned at the mare also turning her red now as she had her mouth wide open as a low audible sound came out of it as she looked to Ed and then her parents and then to him.

"E-e-e-e-e Ed isn't my coltfriend!" Twilight said spouting it out just barely like an embarrassed school girl.

Shining and Ed looked at each other before laughing.

"For now this is fine" Shining thought as he turned and looked out the window as he just noticed the snow that was falling outside.

Edward Elric

Ed closed the door behind him letting the family have there moments together in peace as he now stood in the hall. He heard a commotion coming from one end of the hall as he saw news reporters gathering around doctors they saw left and right. He knew why they were here and causally looked to the wall next to the door he just came out of and saw a mare with a star covered magicians hat leaning against it.

"If you would Trixie" He asked as suddenly the door he just came through was now gone, covered with a illusion of a wall.

With that he walked beside the show mare and leaned against the wall with her as the reporters came walking by ignoring the two as if they weren't even there. Ed just smirked as he watched the reporters go down another hall and out of there sight before leaning in and kissing Trixie on the cheek. The mare just leaned against the wall as if nothing happened as Ed began walking away from her leaving her to her task . As he turned the corner Trixie slowly looked to see if the human was gone before feeling her cheeks heat up. She just pulled her hat down to hide her face as she smiled like a little filly with a crush.

Ed just smiled as he walked on watching as news reporters here and there were questioning anypony who worked there at the hospital. After the incident with rescuing Shining, all the mares he helped escaped were admitted to the same hospital as Shining was. They had all been transported to Canterlot for the best care with the help of a favor from a rich girl in Ponyville. Luckily the father of that girl had been there to assist with his own hired help and things went smoother than expected. He remembered meeting Mr. Rich when he grabbed his watch from his hands after that stupid test he took. He was glad he didn't kick the shit out of that stallion before getting to know who he was. But now that he thought about it, he wondered why he was there in the first place. Did he personally know Celestia? Or was he there because Celestia knew he owed the human for saving his little girl. Either way he would probably talk to the stallion sooner or later.

As he came to a stop he looked down the halls and spotted more reporters just idling around. He then questioned himself.

"What to do, what to do? I could just walk around and hangout til its time for visiting hours to be over, or..."

Ed noticed a sign that said stairs which he had passed before and now decided to check out. He approached the door, opening it as he came into range with it. He saw inside that the stairs only led up one floor.

"We're already on the top floor, so this must lead to the rooftop then" Ed thought to himself as he began ascending the stairs up.

He took his time taking the stairs as he already felt the cold seep around him as he neared the door to the roof. The door had a window on it as he now stood in front of it. He saw the snow outside covering the window slightly but not enough to keep the window covered whole. He opened the door and went into the cold day. He instantly felt the change in temperature as he saw his breath as he exhaled. The cold wrapped around him instantly but he thought nothing of it as he walked out onto the roof and looked up watching the snow fall down around him.

He stood there standing on the roof as snow the came slowly falling from the sky. He thought back to his friends in Ponyville and the snow fight they had together forming a smile on the humans face. He had friendship now, he didn't care how he got there, who he was, or what he was doing. As long as he had his friends with him, he was happy.

As Ed stood motionless, one snowflake stopped moving, then two, then three. Ed blinked as he now noticed it. Time had stopped again. He didn't even hear the sudden noise behind him as he took out his watch and saw that it was still there and inactivated. He sensed it. Without even putting up his sense or anything he just felt it. Staring at him. He turned around fully spotting it. A blue police box.

He just looked at the box as if it was staring right back at him. He wanted to open it for some reason as he thought of what hid behind those doors, what new mystery it told, what-

*Creak*

"This is the 400 thousand last time I ask directions from a Assassin, oh hello there, I'm the Doctor"

Half out of the box door appeared a light brown stallion with brown hair and a cool green tie on with his suit. Ed just blinked before tilting his head as the strange stallion stepped out of his box closing it behind him as he made his way to him. Stopping in front of him the stallion reached into his suit pulling out a sort of pen or tube. The strange device just made a sort of buzzing noise as he pointed it at Ed going up and down his body till he stopped and took a look at it as if reading something off it as he brought it up to his face. With a satisfied look he put the device back into his suit and put his hands in his pocket as he smiled at the human.

"You must have a lot of questions right now so let's get them out of the way shall we" The stallion said as he smiled.

Ed did have many questions at this point but only thought of one currently that itched his mind.

"Yeah... Doctor who?"

Author's Note

So I had to re-look through my notes to see if I could involve the Doctor in my story.

I had planned to have him in here but not for Ed to time travel but for later on in the next stories to come.

Turns out there was no other way to avoid him so here he is with his Blue Box.
