Twilight cannot help but notice that Spike is behaving abnormally. At first, the irregularity is gradual; but as time progresses, so too does the frequency and severity of Spike's outbursts. She fears that, eventually, she may lose her beloved friend forever. However, as Spike becomes more and more unpredictable, she begin to not only fear for her friend, but for the safety of others around him.
