The Tree Fell Far From The Apple

      "What?!" Applejack yelled, "That can't be!"

      "I'm sorry, Miss Apple, it's the truth." the nurse replied.

      "B-but... impossible." the earth mare said, "ARE YOU BUCKING KIDDING ME?!"

      "Miss Apple, calm down." the nurse reassured her, "It will be fine. You have your friends and family to help you through this." The nurse suddenly looked very distant.

      "Nurse Redheart, Ah'm sorry. Ah forgot..." Applejack apologized.

      "It's quite alright, Miss Apple. You should go home and rest." Nurse Redheart gave her a warm smile, "And if you have any questions, don't hesitate to speak with me."

      "No way!" Rainbow Dash said, "How could a stubborn mare like you get... pregnant!?"

      "It's the honest truth." Applejack said.

      "Ooh!" Pinkie cheered, "We're gonna have a party to celebrate! Then we'll have one for when the foal is born!"

      "Oh, Applejack," Fluttershy almost whispered, "If you need any help, just ask me, I mean, if that's okay with you."

      "Girls?" Twilight said.

      "Applejack, you're going to need so many outfits for that young foal." Rarity said.

      "Girls?!" Twilight said louder.

      "Applejack, I'm sure the foal will be adorable." Fluttershy said.

      "GIRLS!?" Twilight said, getting the attention of her friends, "Thank you. I think we're forgetting something here." Twilight looked at her friends.

      "Ooh! Ooh! I know!" Pinkie said, "We forgot to discuss birthday cakes and confettiandballoonsandstreamersanddrinks!!!!" Her words forming into one.

      "No." Twilight said, "Applejack, I think you know what I'm about to ask. Who's the father?"

      "Ah'd rather not..." Applejack said.

      "That's fine, Applejack. You don't even have to tell us when you have the foal, if you want to, that is." Fluttershy said.

      Applejack cradled the little foal. A yellow little filly, and a pegasus. Her brown mane was short, expected for a newborn.

      "Oh Applejack she's so cute!" Pinkie said, "What're you gonna name her? When's a good time to throw a party? Does she like cupcakes?"

      "Pinkie, calm down." Twilight said.

      "Applejack," Apple Bloom said, "She's adorable."

      "She is, ain't she?" Applejack said, "Isn't that right Apple Eve?" She said to her daughter.
