Chapters A pale yellow Pegasus with long, beautiful pink hair and big baby blue eyes was walking through Ponyville, a spring in her step until she heard the ponies around her screaming at something. She turned around and saw something flying towards her at top-speeds, almost looking like some sort of an asteroid. She looked in astonishment as it flew over her head and heard a crash in the direction she was heading… her home. “Oh my goodness… Angel!” she said in fear as she started running home to her little cottage on the outskirts of town, her saddle-bag full of groceries resting over her haunches and hiding her butterfly cutie mark.
When she made it to her cottage, she ran to the back, out near the flower fields. In the middle of the fields was a large, deep crater. Fluttershy saw the deep chasm and looked down into it cautiously, shivering in fear, “He-Hello? Is a-a-anyone d-d-d-down there?” She said, stuttering at each word she uttered. Just when she was about to look deeper inside, a pitch-black, blood-soaked claw stabbed into the ground in front of her, making her jump in fright and make a break for her house and locked the door, hiding under her bed.
A few minutes later, there was a loud knocking on her front door, scaring her more than the claw did as she started to whimper in fear. Then, there was the sound of a door opening, closing and small feet hopping up the stairs to her room, a small squeaking sound coming from outside of her hiding place, and she knew exactly who it was… “Angel?” She poked her head out to see Angel Bunny in a panic, pointing downstairs as if trying to tell her something. “What is it Angel?” Fluttershy asked in confusion as the tiny rabbit face-pawed and began down the stairs, waving his arm as if telling her to follow.
Fluttershy knew what he was trying to tell her and followed him down the stairs and to the front door. She looked down at him confusedly and then at the door, Angel signaling for her to open the door. Fluttershy looked at him with frightened eyes and shook her head quickly, thinking that whatever that claw belonged to was outside her door. Angel placed a reassuring paw on her hoof and Fluttershy sighed, hesitantly reaching her other hoof to the doorknob and slowly turning it, making it open as she looked outside and saw a tall jet-black Pegasus lying on her doorstep, his body cut up and bleeding.
She gasped at the sight and looked to Angel, “This is what you wanted to show me?” Angel nodded at Fluttershy, surprising her. She looked back to the injured stallion at her door and thought, ‘The hospital is already closed… And the clinic closed quite a while ago too...” She sighed and looked at Angel with a serious expression, “Angel, go fill the bathtub and I’ll need bandages and alcohol too.” Angel smiled and saluted. He liked this side of his owner very much, she wasn’t scared and she knew how to take charge. He hopped off to do as his owner said as Fluttershy placed a hoof up to her muzzle and whistled, a bear coming into the room. Fluttershy pointed at the stallion and looked at the bear with the same look, “Pick this pony up and take him to the bathroom.” The bear nodded and saluted, picking up the bleeding pony and running up the stairs to the bathroom.
She saw the blood on the floor and shuddered slightly as she whistled again, four raccoons coming into the room as she pointed at the blood, “Get the mops and clean the blood off the floor please, I have to tend to something.” She said in the same serious tone and walking up the stairs as the raccoons saluted and ran to go get the buckets and mops. Upstairs in the bathroom, she saw the bear and Angel standing at the door and she smiled sweetly at them, “I can take it from here you two, thank you very much. Go help the raccoons clean up the blood please.” They nodded and ran past her to go help the raccoons as they were told while Fluttershy grabbed a washcloth from her closet and started wiping down the black Pegasus with tender and careful motions, wiping the blood from his cuts, she started on his hind-legs and around his cutie mark, a small blush on her cheeks. She moved up to his stomach and chest which were partially muscled. Then she got to his fore-legs and then, to his neck and face. She noted that he looked peaceful, although she could tell he was in a critical state.
She finished washing him down and grabbed the alcohol Angel got for her, putting some on the washcloth and blotching it onto the wounds, he groaned and growled a little louder on every time she touched him with her alcohol-soaked cloth. She finished with the alcohol and then began to wrap the bandages around his legs, chest, stomach, and even some on his face, but made sure he could still breath, if he was breathing at all, which was the one thing she overlooked to do. She used all the strength she could mhster and carried the bandaged pony to her room and placed him gently on the bed as she laid her head softly on his chest, listening for a heartbeat, and to her relief, his heart was slowly but surely beating.
The next morning, her baby blue eyes fluttered open to the sound of loud snoring, a happy look in her eye as she looked next to her and saw that the stallion was now breathing at a normal pace. She stood out of bed slowly and trotted downstairs to her kitchen to make him something to eat. About 10 or 15 minutes, upstairs in her room, the Pegasus in question woke up slowly as he tried to sit up in bed, but cringed at the pain that surged through his body as he fell back down. He looked around through the eye that wasn’t bandaged and wondered to himself, “Where… Where am I?” He said in a menacing tone, his voice dark but still that of a normal Pegasus teen.
Fluttershy walked back up the stairs with a tray with vegetable soup and a few slices of toast. She had a joyful but also bashful look on her face as she walked in, placing the tray on the empty nightstand on the bedside. “Good morning… Are you feeling okay?” She asked hopefully as the stallion growled and tried to move away, but the pain he felt from the cuts and lack of strength kept him in place. “Who are you… And where the hell am I…?” he said through gritted teeth in a growly and pained voice. The first thing she noticed was his blood red, reptilian eye, as if he was trying to stare into her soul… and burn it to cinders. And then there was his pointed teeth that reminded her of King Sombra. Also, the bloody bandages all over his body didn’t help his appearance at all, but it reminded her that it was time for her to change them.
She smiled gently at him and spoke in her usual shy and barely audible voice, “Well... Um… I’m Fluttershy, and th-this is my c-cottage…” the stallion looked at her as if she had a mental disability and sighed shaking his head. “Great…” he tried to stand but the pain and now Fluttershy kept him from doing so, “I’m sorry, but you need to refrain from moving, your injuries will get worse than they are.” The Pegasus looked at the bandages all over his body and growled in anger as he laid back down, Fluttershy slowly pushing him back onto the soft pillow. As sparkling blue eyes met crimson blood red, Fluttershy blushed and did her usual ‘Eep’ noise, moving backwards in embarrassment and leaving the black Pegasus confused and a little agitated. ‘I just had to crash at the door of a pitiful Pegasus…’ He thought as he rolled his eyes.
Fluttershy got up from her spot on the floor, a blush on her cheeks as she looked at the Pegasus again, “So um… Wh-What might y-y-your name be?” He sighed and closed his eye and turned away from her as he spoke, “Jet Stream… Not that it matters to you.” Fluttershy donned a sad expression as he looked at him, “Well… If it didn’t matter to me… then why would I have asked?” Jet growled, knowing she was right but not wanting to accept it. She then moved closer to him shyly and smiled as sweetly as she could to hide her embarrassment, “Um… I-If you don’t mind… It’s time to cha-change your b-bandages…” Jet sighed and nodded, “Go ahead and get it over with…” she nodded and left, coming back with a few rolls of bandages, a bottle of alcohol and a washcloth.
She moved closer, placing the items so they’re out of the way but still within reach. She then cautiously unraveled the bandages, starting from his hind-legs and working her way up. He had the smallest tinge of maroon on his cheeks watching her take off the wraps. She soon came to his head and took off the bandages that hid his other eye from her as she gasped at the sight of three claw-like scars going over his eye-lid as he opened it, finally being able to see her fully. He blinked his eye a few more times so it would re-adjust to the light in the room, “Finally…” He groaned in relief that he could move his limbs freely, but the pain was still evident.
She wet the cloth with alcohol, “I’m sorry, this might sting a little…” she warned as she started to wipe the alcohol soaked rag over the healing scars once again, his growls and groans of pain making her feel as if she was doing something wrong. He closed one of his eyes in pain and clenched his teeth, forcing himself not to scream as she continued. She then wiped the rag across his face, making him roar in pain , alerting Angel as he and the bear from before ran up the stairs, the bear holding Jet down as she continued, “I’m sorry, I’m so very sorry!” She said frightened and saddened that she was bringing her ‘patient’ pain.
When she finished, she noticed that his scars started to smoke and heal as if they were never there, except for the one scar over his eye, which surprised Angel, the bear and herself beyond words. The Pegasus then growled at the bear that held him and stared into his eyes, scaring the poor thing to death as it ran down the stairs, whimpering like a beaten dog. Jet smirked in a devilish way and got out of the bed, walking past Fluttershy but not before saying, “I didn’t need your help… But thanks…” He walked out of the cottage and soon stood on his hind-legs.
His body grew scales and shed the fur from his body, his tail getting bigger and growing large spikes that trailed from the bottom of his now scaly tail to the top of his head, the last one arching down over his left eye as if it was a bang. His large black wings grew in size and length, the feathers turning into scales and spines sprouting from them. His hooves turned to clawed hands and feet, the sound of bones morphing and cracking as he transformed could be heard by any within earshot.
He smirked demonically and chuckled, raising his powerful wings and flapping them once, blasting off the ground as the strong gust shattered the windows of the tiny cottage and scared Fluttershy back under her bed. After a few minutes she moved to the front door and looked up into the sky, seeing her use-to-be patient flying away as she said in astonishment, “… I hope he doesn’t get into trouble…”
In Ponyville, coming from from Fluttershy’s cottage, Jet was slowly walking through the town with a disgusted grimace on his face. He peered from side to side at the ponies walking by, some flinching in fear or running scared, which made him quite happy, but then there were the ponies that would try to talk to him, like a certain mint-green unicorn that smiled as she looked at him gleefully, staring at his claws and tail, mainly his tail. After about 10 minutes of following him he finally got pissed and blew black flames at her, barely missing as she ran away, bringing an evil grin to his face as he walked on.
He walked on, his grin soon turning into a bored frown as he soon walked past Sugarcube Corners, cheers of joy and fun bursting through the door and windows. He then grew a malicious idea as he walked up to the door and checked his teeth in the window, smiling and showing off his dagger-like teeth and nodded as he walked through the door, clearing his throat and then roaring as loud as he could, scaring everyone and turning the cheers and laughter to tears and yelling as they ran out as fast as possible.
He laughed maniacally and was walking back out the door until an angry pink face appeared in front of him, “Whoa!” He said in a surprised yelp, crashing down to the floor. He shook his head to clear away the blurs from the fall and noticed the same angry face, making him growl and sit up, a pink pony straddling him as he groaned, “Who are you?” he said confusedly, her frown not leaving her face. “I’m Pinkie Pie, and YOU just ruined my party!” He rolled his eyes and grabbed Pinkie by the tail and tossing her up the stairs, making her bounce off the walls up the stairs like a ball, a loud crashing sound following soon after.
He chuckled at his actions and made his way out of the dessert shop and continued to walk by himself. He continued on, pushing or glaring away the ponies that walked by him or looked up at him in fear or interest like Lyra had. He then flew up into the skies, spooking everyone nearby with the loud shockwave it created as he flew. Just when he was relaxing, he heard an annoyingly loud voice next to him, “Hey, what’s up?” he looked next to him to see a sky blue Pegasus with a rainbow mane, tail and magenta eyes. Peering into her eyes, he noticed they were a major difference from the pony that saved his life.
The Pegasus whistled, bringing him back to reality, the Pegasus looking at him oddly, “Dude, something wrong? You zoned out on me.” Jet growled and flew faster to get away from her, the sound of her voice once again next to him, “Well, I’m Rainbow Dash, the fastest Pegasus in all of Equestria, and you are?” Jet growled his answer, “Leaving…” He flew faster, flying away while Rainbow continued to chase him, catching up and was once again next to him, “Nice to meet’cha Leaving. Wanna race?” Jet was about to blow her out of the sky with his flames but soon looked in front of them and smiled devilishly, “Sure, on the count of 3…” Rainbow nodded, “I can do this with my eyes closed…” and so she did as Jet’s smile grew, “1… 2… 3!” He flew away and backwards as Rainbow crashed into a cliff-side with a painful thud, making Jet laugh with amusement.
He flew back to Ponyville but first saw an apple orchard, smiling again and landing in one of the trees softly, grabbing an apple and spinning it on one claw, peeling it with the other and biting into it with a loud crunch, sighing in relaxation. He soon heard a couple of voices coming his way and climbed higher up into the tree so he wasn’t seen. An orange Earth pony and a bigger red one seemingly arguing.
“Big Mac! I’m tellin’ ya, I can pick all the apples in this orchard by mahself! Ya just got outta the hospital, ya shouldn’t be puttin’ so much strain on yer injury!” the orange one said to the bigger red one. Big Mac was going to retort, until the orange hoof of his sister was stuck in his mouth. “I ain’t takin’ ‘no’ fer an answer Macintosh, now go back to bed.” He nodded and walked away as the orange pony walked up to the tree he was hiding in, about to buck it. Before she could, he slashed every apple over her head and made them fall on her. After the 15th apple she fell to the ground with crossed eyes and a wacky smile on her face.
He laughed, falling backwards out of the tree and landing on his feet as he ran away from the orchard with an apple in his left hand. He started walking as he saw a small purple dragon and a white unicorn with a purple, curly mane walking his way, the purple dragon carrying a sack of gems over his shoulder. Jet snarled at the sight and as he neared them, he pushed the white unicorn out of his way, a smirk growing on his face as he walked away, until… “Hey!” he heard a small child-like voice call out to him, making him stop in his tracks. He simply looked over his shoulder at the small dragon helping the unicorn up onto her hooves and threw a glare at Jet.
He grew a questioning look the small dragon’s way, “What?” The small dragon walked and looked up to him, an angry glare in his eyes. “Apologies to the lady!” Jet chuckled and turned around looking at him with his heartless glare, “And who exactly is going to make me if I say no?” the dragon puffed out his chest trying to look tough, “I will!” Jet laughed in amusement and kneeled down in front of him, “Right, sure you will kid. What’s your name?” Spike looked at him confused, “My name is Spike, why does it matter?” Jet smiled and stood, “I was just wondering. Well, weren’t you going to make me apologize?”
Spike nodded, remembering what he’d said as he made an angry look at him, running at him and jumping up, throwing a fist at him as jet simply caught his balled up fist and threw him at the Carousel Boutique, face-planting him into the wall and fall to the ground knocked out. The white unicorn gasped in surprise at the sight of Spike on the ground with a bleeding snout. She scowled at Jet in a rage as she dashed at him, pointing her horn out so she could stab him. He looked down at her and scoffed, flipping over, grabbing her tail, and throwing her at the boutique as well, knocking her out and landing on Spike. He smiled and walked away chuckling.
Meanwhile, Pinkie and the others were walking towards Rarity’s boutique growing worried that they hadn’t heard from Spike in a while and also looking for Jet. “Now Pinkie, are you sure he’s this way? When we found you your eyes were still swirling.” Twilight said worriedly. Pinkie nodded furiously, “I know it! I can sense him!” She said referencing to her Pinkie Sense while Rainbow Dash had a furious look in her eyes. “That jerk cheated! He made me crash into a freaking CLIFF! When we find him, I’m gonna knock his head off!”
Fluttershy looked at her angry friend, knowing well who she meant and was met with a sinking feeling in her stomach, ‘Jet…’ She thought to herself as she followed Pinkie and the others, her lips turning into an upsetting frown. She was startled by a sudden scream as Pinkie looked ahead, pointing at Jet, Rarity and Spike knocked out and bleeding behind him.
Twilight stepped forward, “So, you’re the dragon everypony in town has been talking about lately…” He smirked, “Wow, word travels fast in this little town, huh? So what if I am? Ya’ gonna try to stop me?” he challenged as smoke floated from between his fangs. Twilight scold, knowing there was nothing she could do at the time. ‘Without Rarity we can’t use the elements...’ Jet snickered and then he saw Fluttershy, his laughter stopping and his smile fading “You…” he said narrowing his eyes as he walked closer. Pinkie grabbed her party cannon and Twilight was about to shoot her magic at him until Fluttershy got in the way, “Stop!” she shouted as Twilight and Pinkie stopped what they were about to do.
“Fluttershy, what’re you doing? He hurt Rarity, Spike, Rainbow and Pinkie! Why are you protecting him?!” Twilight said in a slight fury. Fluttershy looked back towards Jet, he had a perplexed look as well wondering why she got in between her friends and himself. She stammered but finally found the words, “He’s my… Assistant.” She said smiling back towards Jet, his perplexed look turning to one of pure and utter confusion, Pinkie, Rainbow and Twilight wore the same look as they all shouted in unison, “WHAT?!”

Introducing The Dragon
In Golden Acorn Library, Jet sat annoyed in a circle, the main six and Spike surrounding him. Fluttershy was at his side with a small smile as the others grimaced and glared at the dragon next to her. Jet sent an equally annoyed glare at the rest of them, feeling ready to torch them all.
Breaking the rage-filled silence, Twilight spoke first, "So, we've all met... What was your name again?"
Jet growled at her, "None of your damn--"
"Jet... His name is Jet Stream." Fluttershy said interrupting the raging lizard. His nose fumed black smoke until she slowly placed a hoof on his black claw, being met by a small tint of crimson on his cheeks as he pulled it away and crossed his arms.
Twilight nodded and continued, "Right, Jet. We've all met him, though none of the meetings have been very... Enjoyable. But still, if Fluttershy is vouching for him, we should try and give him chance. So we should try introducing ourselves, I'll start." she said as she turned to Jet and smiled, "My name is Twilight Sparkle, and I am the owner of this library and student of Princess Celestia. Nice to meet you." she said holding a hoof out to him.
Jet looked at her hoof as if she was joking and chuckled darkly, "Oh, I'm supposed to pretend that you never tried to shoot me earlier? You can take your hoof and sho--"
"Jet..." The timid Pegasus by his side said quietly as she looked up at him, "Please try to be nice..."
Jet growled and was about to retort until he looked into her hopeful baby blue eyes and sighed, his anger washing away as he slowly reached out and grabbed her hoof, shaking it slowly.
Twilight made a surprised look and smiled, looking at the little dragon next to her, "Your turn Spike."
Spike nodded and looked up at Jet, "I'm Spike, I'm Twilight's #1 assistant and help out the others when I can. And if you ever touch Rarity again, you'll regret it. Got me?" Spike said threateningly as Jet rolled his eyes.
"Oh I'm so scared, the 2-foot high baby dragon is gonna get me! Seriously kid, if you want to fight me it's your funeral..." he said with a threatening look in his eyes, making spike slowly climbing back up into his chair and staying silent.
Rarity looked at Spike and then shot a glare at Jet, her teeth clenched in anger as she jumped off her chair and walking up to Jet menacingly, "How dare you frighten poor little Spikey-Wikey! He didn't do ANYTHING to you, and you threw him, and myself, at MY shop! You're just a big BULLY! Just like any other dragon!"
Jet grimaced, "You have a point to your senseless screaming or do you introduce yourself like this to everyone?" he said with a glare.
The albino unicorn made a wrathful glare back and sighed, regaining her composure, 'He's not worth it... He's trying to make you fight... You're better than this Rarity... You're a lady...' she thought to herself as she smiled, "No, nevermind. My name is Rarity, I am the Element of Generosity and also the owner of Carousel Boutique."
Jet scoffed and looked away from Rarity, an annoyed look in his eye. Rarity's eye twitched as she sat back in her seat and allowed the pink pony next to her to speak.
"Hi, I'm Pinkamiena Diane Pie, but my friends, which is everypony, calls me Pinkie Pie! I'm the Element of Laughter, because I love making my friends smile! Oh, I work at Sugarcube Corner, and live there with the Cakes and their children, Pumpkin and Pound! I hope that you'll be friends with me! I love making new friends more than anything in the whole super duper wide world, well, not as much as making my friends smile! Well, maybe I do, but I don't know. Maybe I like them equally and I don't even know it! But anyway, will you please be friends with me?!" she yelled, getting in Jet's face, no one noticed she'd moved at all.
Jet made a big smile, "Friends with you? That'd be great!" he said in an excited voice.
Pinkie smiled bigger until Jet's turned into an annoyed frown as his voice deadpanned, "Not..." he shoved her away as she bounced off the floor and back into her seat. Jet felt a strong urge to laugh but held it in, not wanting the ponies around him to hear his laughter. Pinkie grew a surprised look that turned into a small smile as she giggled. Jet had no idea what to make of this.
Next was the farm-mare that had been staying out of the conflict for the most part and she seemed highly confused. "Uh... Alright, Ah' ain't got the slightest clue who y'are, and Ah' don't remember meetin' ya', ever. So Ah'll just take Twi's word for it. Mah' name's Applejack, I'm the proud owner'a Sweet Apple Acres and the Element'a Honesty, so you can bet yer' big scaly tail that Ah' ain't lyin' when Ah' say that if you hurt any'a mah' friends again, Ah'll be on ya' like red on an apple." she said threateningly, getting in Jet's face.
Jet chuckled, "I don't know what's funnier, the fact you think a little pony like you, an earth pony for that matter, threatening me will actually SCARE me, or that hick accent you have!" he laughed harder at Applejack, who was now red with anger as she sat back down.
Rainbow Dash sat in her seat begrudgingly, tied to the chair so not to attack Jet, and yelled angrily, "Would you guys untie me so I can pound this stupid, overgrown lizard into dust already?!" she struggled against the ropes.
"Rainbow, we tied you down so you wouldn't do that. Or at least try..." Twilight said looking over at Jet who was tending to his claws with a file he'd found.
Rainbow groaned and looked up, "Fine, whatever! Look dude, my name is Rainbow Dash, I'm a weather pony, and I'm the Element of Loyalty. I'm not telling you anything else." she said making an annoyed look.
Jet smirked, "Your fun. I think I may actually like you. You're straight to the point, you don't threaten me, hell, you had to be tied down so you wouldn't try to fight me. That's cool." he leaned back in his chair as Dash and everyone else looked surprised by his words as he looked back, "What? I'm not allowed to speak my mind? Free country, right?"
Twilight rolled her eyes, "Well, I guess that's--"
"Now hold on a minute." Jet said interrupting Twilight. "We still haven't introduced ourselves." Jet gestured to himself and Fluttershy.
Twilight looked surprised but shrugged, "Um... Okay. Which one of you want to go first?"
Jet smirked, "I'll let Fluttershy go first I suppose. She is your friend after all. And besides, ladies first." he looked down at Fluttershy.
Jet had kept his eyes in her the whole time and nodded, "I see, interesting. So, I suppose that just leaves me, right? Well then, here goes. My name is Jet Stream. My favorite color is crimson red, I'm twenty years old, my mother was a dragon and my father was a pony. Any questions?"
They all had surprised looks on their faces as Pinkie raised her hoof, "Are you a hybrid?" she asked cheerfully.
Jet crossed his arms and nodded, "Indeed I am... My father was a Pegasus, so I have his flying capability. No more questions. Are we done here?"
Twilight shook her head, "Well, we have to find out where you'll be staying, so... Who'll take him?"
"No way am I taking him!" Rainbow yelled.
"Ah' don't think we got much room fer' a dragon on the farm." Applejack said thinking aloud.
"Mr. & Mrs. Cake are really nervous about strangers, I'm sorry Jetty." Pinkie apologized.
"I wouldn't let this ruffian live under my roof! He's so very uncouth and barbaric!" she said angrily, turning her nose skyward.
"There's only room for Spike and I here..." Twilight reasoned.
Everyone in the room were in thought until Fluttershy spoke, "He can stay with me. He is my assistant after all..."
"Are y'all sure Fluttershy? I know you've dealt with all sorts'a animals, big and small, but a dragon like him? He's downright dangerous!" Applejack said panicked and worried for her friend's well-being.
Fluttershy shook her head, "I'll be fine, trust me."
Twilight nodded, "Alright everypony, go ahead and go home. Oh, Fluttershy, can I talk to you for a second?"
As everyone else walked out and went home, excluding Jet, Fluttershy walked up to Twilight, "Um, what is it Twilight?" she said in her usual quiet voice.
Twilight's expression became worried as she placed a hoof on her shoulder, "Are you sure you can handle him Fluttershy? I can station some guards if you want."
Fluttershy shook her head and removed Twilight's hoof, "I'll be fine Twilight. Jet won't hurt me. I have a good feeling about him..."
Twilight sighed, "Alright Fluttershy, but if he steps out of line, we'll all be there in a heartbeat. Okay?"
Fluttershy nodded and walked up to Jet who was waiting on the doorframe, talking to Spike as if nothing had happened earlier. Jet waved goodbye to the little dragon and walked out with Fluttershy next to him.
Spike walked up to Twilight excitedly, "Twilight, did you know Jet's fire is TWO colors?! Its red and black, and its so cool!" he cheered as Twilight kept a serious expression.
"Spike, I need you to write a letter to Celestia... This may be urgent..." Twilight said watching the duo of Jet and Fluttershy walk away and soon, out of sight.
