Chapter One
A Death Note Crossover

It was a beautiful day out in Ponyville. The sun was shining gallantly and there wasn’t a single cloud in the sky. Probably a bad day for Cloudsdale, but nevertheless it was a beautiful day. Ponies walked around the village talking happily while others were sharing ice cream over on Sugar Cube Corner. Fillies and colts were in their normal daytime classes while the high school students were over at Ponyville High studying for an upcoming test. Light Yagami, is currently studying in his high school class and seems to look very bored. This boredom was about to change.
Over in an alternate universe, two monster-like creatures were having a conversation. “It’s boring in this world. There’s nothing fun to do here.” said Ryuk, the name of this monster who looked as if he were combination of a joker and a circus clown. “Well what are you going to do about it? I certainly can’t do anything.” said the second monster-like creature that appeared to resemble that of a bull skeleton. “Well Gook, It apparently seems that I dropped my Death Note into the pony world.” answered Ryuk to Gook, the name of this bull-like creature. “Haha Ryuk always messing up! Well I guess you’re going to have to go get it.” replied Gook. Ryuk walked over to the portal that lead from this monster realm to Equestria and walked into it.
After Light’s class ended for the day, he started walking home. All of a sudden, a black, leather bound notebook fell of the sky in front of him. “What’s this?” Light wondered while picking up the grim looking notebook which had “Death Note” written in a scrawled, white handwriting. Light stared into the title thinking, “Death Note? This must be some kind of prank.” Light started to walk away, but couldn’t stop thinking about the Death Note.
“What if this Death Note really isn’t a fake though?” Light thought while walking back over to the Death Note. “Of course it’s real” said a mysterious voice behind him. Light looked behind him, but there was nopony in sight. Light now had a very confused look on his face. “Is anypony there?” There was no answer. Light got home and entered his room, shutting the door behind him.
Light set the Death Note onto his desk and examined it. “Should I open it? No I can’t.” Light carefully started to open the cover attracted to it like a moth and a bright light. “Go on. Don’t be scared. You have nothing to lose!” exclaimed the mysterious voice. “Where are you?! Show yourself!” Light yelled confused and scared. The mysterious voice appeared out of the darkness, it was Ryuk! “Now, now, no need to be scared. I am Ryuk. That Death Note of yours is actually mine. I dropped it into your world on accident.” Light replied, “Wh-What are you? This is yours?” “I am a Shinigami. And yes, that was my Death Note. It’s yours now, until you die.” replied Ryuk. Light’s eyes widened “A Shinigami? You mean a god of death?! This is mine until I die?” Ryuk rolled his eyes “Yes and yes. Now stop asking questions and try the Death Note out.” Light opened the cover of the notebook with a pen shaking in his hoof.
“But who would I kill?” Light wondered out loud. “How about a criminal?” Light turned on the tv and checked the news to see if there were any crimes recently. Sure enough there was. Everything there was needed to kill this filly harasser that was harming young ponies in Equestria. All you needed was the victim’s face and full name to kill them, as one of the Death Note rules quoted. Light wrote the criminal’s name, Bloody Blade, while imagining this criminal’s face, in the Death Note. Now all he needed to do was wait forty seconds, as one of the Death Note’s rules told to do so.
“Thirty-seven, thirty-eight, thirty-nine, forty!” Ryuk exclaimed excitedly. Ten seconds passed in silence after that. “Fake” Light said satisfied. He was interrupted by a breaking news program which informed everypony that the harasser had just collapsed due to a heart attack. The criminal was dead.
“WHAT?! IT WORKED?! No this has to be a coincidence it has to be!” Light yelled in shock and confusion. Ryuk laughed hysterically. “You amuse me Light.” Light stared at Ryuk “I have to try this again! To see if it’s really real.” Light searched up a list of criminals online that included pictures of them and wrote all of their names in the Death Note. Forty seconds later, all of those criminals were broadcast dead. All died of sudden heart attacks.
“But this can’t be! A notebook that can kill ponies?!” Light asked senseless. Ryuk answered, “I can assure you, Light, that it’s real”
One month later, ponies started calling Light Kira, which stood for killer, due to his way of killing criminals. They worshipped him. Only they didn’t know that Light was Kira, for they thought he was a normal high school student. His identity was safe as far as he knew but there was a pony who was about to change that.
Twilight Sparkle was inside her home, the Golden Oak Library, and was rewatching suspicious news broadcasts about whole jails full of criminals found dead due to sudden heart attacks. Twilight wanted to find out who or what was causing these deaths and decided to interrogate him over television with a voice filter and a random criminal to find out more about this murderer.
Later that day, Twilight broadcast the criminal dressed like a normal pony, with his full name displayed in front of him. “Hello Kira. I am T. I believe that what you are doing is very bad and illegal. You are a criminal. And I’m going to catch you and put you to justice.” said the disguised criminal sternly. “KILL ME?! YOU FOOL! YOU REALLY THINK I’M A CRIMINAL?!” Light shouted at the television. “Sorry T looks like you really aren’t that smart after all! Or should I say, Tailor T. Ludwig!” Light quickly ripped open the Death Note and wrote Tailor T. Ludwig’s name down in it. “Haha T looks like it’s over for you! I was hoping for a more interesting challenge!”
Forty seconds passed. Tailor T. Ludwig started clenching his heart and died on camera. He was dead. Light laughed. It was over! All of a sudden, the camera changed to a picture of the letter “T” in a cloister black font and Twilight started speaking in her voice filter. “I…I didn’t know that it would work! You can kill ponies without being there in person! Now listen Kira that pony you just killed wasn’t me. That was an inmate whose execution was scheduled for today. I can assure you that I am the real T. Now try to kill me! GO ON KILL ME!
“YOU BASTARD!” Light shouted at the tv. Without T’s full name and face, Light could do nothing. Ryuk laughed at this since he knew that T was a very smart pony. “Well it seems you can’t kill me” replied Twilight. “Thanks for your corporation. It helped me out a lot. It won’t be long until I catch you. Oh by the ways this news broadcast was only broadcast in Ponyville so I know you live here. I’ll just do a house check and find you that way. Come and get me if you can coward!”
Light clenched his hooves tightly. “SCREW YOU! This stupid T thinking that he can catch me! I will be the god of this new world! I will bring this foolish T to justice! Watch your back T!”
