As Luna sat in the royal garden, she thought about her sudden outburst towards her sister. She’d never raised her voice at anypony… at least not intentionally. “I have to apologize.” Luna murmured. But, before she could stand, images of her on the moon flashed through her mind. “This is nonsense. She won’t send me…” she paused when she heard something crash, followed by a soft groan. She looked over to see somepony pull herself out of a nearby hedge. Luna chose to examine the intruder, before doing anything else. The mare’s coat was a milky white color, and her mane and tail were a matching black and purple pattern. Luna thought the mare was an earth pony, due to the lack of a horn and wings. “Why did I have to land in a hedge?!” the mare asked to no one as she shook all the leaves from her body. “An Alicorn?” Luna thought as the mare’s horn and wings were freed from their leaf made prisons. “Hello.” Luna said in her royal canterlot voice.
“Ah! Not so loud!” the mare said in a hushed manner, as she put a hoof over Luna’s mouth. They both stood in silence, as the unknown alicorn waited for something. After a few minutes, she finally removed her hoof. “Who are you?” Luna asked. “Who am I? Who are you?” the mare asked teasingly. “I am Princess Luna, younger sister of Princess Celestia, and watcher of the night.” Luna answered, now waiting for the other mare’s name. “Okay, Luna, I’m Chrystal, but you can call me Chris.” Chris says she pokes the other mare’s mane. “Nice mane.” She muttered. “It’s a pleasure to meet you princess…” Luna started, but was cut off. “ I’m not a princess.”
“But you’re an Alicorn, are you not?” Luna asked. “Yup, I was just abandoned when I was a filly.” Chris shrugged. “Well, I can help you find your parents. I’ll just ask Celestia… Are you ok?” Luna asked the Chris. “ No! Yes. I mean I don’t need to know my parents.” Luna looked at Chris confused. “Princess Luna?” Both mare Jumped, and Luna turned to see Shining Armor. “Yes?” Luna asked slightly disappointed that her conversation was interrupted. “Everypony is heading to the Gala to welcome Cadence and I. Would you like to take a Chariot with Cadence and I?” Shining asked. “No thank you, but I’m sure twilight would be glad to.” Luna said. “Yeah. Luna, who were you talking to?” Shining asked. Confused, Luna turned around to find that Chrystal was gone. “No one…” Luna said. “We’ll meet you at the Gala. Bye.” And with that said, he left. Once he was gone, Luna ran as fast as she could looking for her new friend. “Chrystal? Chrystal!” Luna called but still there was no sign of her. Suddenly, she hit something, but she didn’t hit the ground. Chrystal appeared by her side, with her hooves keeping Luna from falling. Once Luna regained her balance, Chris stated that she had to go. But Luna some how convinced her to go to the Gala.
As Chrystal took off she couldn’t help but what would happen at the Gala. “Nothing bad I hope.” Luna sighed, before making her way towards her room.
Luna opened her eyes to see a very familiar place. The very place that made her cold and dark inside and out. She was on the moon, the place that was once her home due to her punishment. "Hello, Luna." Luna turned to see nightmare moon. "What do you want?" Luna asked bitterly. "It's not what I want, it's what you need." Nightmare says. "What?" Luna asked, slightly confused. "Luna it's been three years, and ponies still fear you!" Nightmare says, her voice slightly raised. "They just need more time!" Luna yelled in the same tone as nightmare. "Why can't you just see that we're just in the shadow of your own sister?!" Nightmare yelled, her voice laced with anger. "Nopony cares about you! Nopony ever has... Nopony ever will." Nightmare says in a softer tone. And with that said, Luna felt herself slip into consciousness.

Luna bolted awake and quickly looked at her surroundings. She was in her bedroom, and there was no sign nightmare moon anywhere. "Thank Celestia." she sighs in relief. She climbed out of bed and made her way towards the dining area.
Just as the doors open she gasps when she sees that she is not having breakfast alone with her sister. "Hello, Luna." Celestia says as her younger sister takes a seat. The Mane 6 each say their own hellos to the young princess, but Luna just smiles politely as she pokes her food around. "Luna? Is there something wrong?" Celestia asked in a voice of concern. Luna only replied with a "Hm" as she thinks about what Nightmare moon had said. Nightmare moon had been like a best friend to Luna, even though she was evil, they we're connected. "What if she was right?" Luna thought as she glanced at her sister. Luna, then, slid out her chair and made her way towards the door. Celestia, quickly, used her magic to close the door before Luna could even get a hoove out the door. "Luna, please speak to me. Tell me what is troubling you." Celestia pleaded. "No, sister! I can take care of myself! I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP!" she said in her royal Canterlot voice. With that said she used her magic to open the door and with great speed flew away, leaving a group of mares equally shocked.
