Celestia tended not to be near Twilight when she practiced magic. It's not because she didn't enjoy the company of the alicorn, it was just that when Twilight practiced, she tended to be very expiramental with her spells and this sometimes worried Celestia.  She feared one day something would go wrong and she was , admittedly,a bit paranoid about the subject. But today she had decided to see how the new princess was doing. Twilight had informed her that after the incident a while back, she had taken up a fascination in portal spells and was expiramenting with the possibility of interdimensional travel. Of all the days she could've checked in on Twilight,  it had to be the day she was messing with gateways to other dimensions. Of course it would seem rude to leave now so she watched as her former student attempted to cast a portal spell. Of course, that was the day that something went wrong.

There was a flash and she woke up in a field. There were storm clouds on the horizon. A dead tree rested in front of her along with what seemed like an alicorn version of the pegasus Fluttershy. Behind her was a pedistal where it looked like a statue should be. She realized there was a canyon a few feet off to one side of her. She examined herself. There were golden streaks running down her body. A stone circle with runic symbols engraved on it and flames portruding outward was fastened onto her back, although it didn't bother her. What was puzzling was how she obtained it. Then she suddenly realized, she had no wings.
