My Unexpected Life

Chapter 2: New friends

When I got out of the hospital all I got was the gift of being stared at by other ponies, some scowled at me, others feared me but there's one pony who actually got excited over seeing me until another pony with pale white fur with a mane and tale of dark blue and pink pulled it away, it was a mint green unicorn whose got a mint green mane and tail with some white going through it, I thought I'll worry about that later when the time came.

We both stayed silent until we came in front of this big tree, how the hell did they carve a library into a tree was the only thought that came into my mind when I stepped in "So um...., I guess you run this library?" I said to Twilight.

"Why yes, yes I do." Twilight replied. I decided to sit down and wait since there's not really much to do and so I can let Twilight do her own thing, I heard the sound of footsteps coming down the staircase.

"Um... Twilight, who is that?" I looked up to see a small reptilian creature with purple scales and green spikes on its back, It sounded like a boy so I'm assuming it's a male.

I got nervous "Oh him, he's called Connor, He's a human. Can you go tell the others to come meet me here so they can meet him?" Twilight asked the reptile.

"Sure, anyways my name's Spike, I'm a baby dragon and Twilight's number one assistant" he came over to me and put his hand out.

"Nice to meet you" I said trying to be polite and shaking his hand being less nervous then before.

"Well I better get going since Twilight wants me to get the others" Spike said heading out the door

"Okay, see you later" I said waving at him.

"Bye" the baby dragon replied shutting the door behind him.

"So do you mind if I ask you some questions about you, your kind and your home world?" I turned around to see Twilight sitting on the other side of the sofa i was sitting on.

"Why not, I've got nothing else to do" I replied

"Great, so what kind of food do you eat?" she asked curiously.

I started to hesitate thinking they might not like me if I told them that i eat meat, "Well I don't know if I should answer that, you'd probably think I'm a monster if I did" I chuckled nervously.

"Why not" she saw the look in my face "Oh I get it, are you a carnivore?"

"Well, we're omnivores actually, you know, I can eat vegetables and fruit as well, but to be honest I'm not into meat" I lied, I actually prefer meat to vegetables.

"Well that's good to know" She said it like she felt relieved, she was also jotting some notes down that was being levitated by her magic "So do you have any kind of magic?"

"magic?" I asked confused.

"yes magic like levitating or simple spells" she was getting a little confused.

"Um... the only kind of magic we have is the kind of magic a magician does, you know fake magic with secrets" I replied getting what she meant.

"Okay, so do humans have cutie marks?" she asked me.

"Um..." I was very confused "Whats a cutie mark?" I asked back

"A cutie mark is mark that you get on your flank when you find your special talent in life, for example my cutie mark is magic" she explained to me showing her cutie mark on her flank, It was a dark pink 6-pointed star with little white stars around it.

"Oh that what it was." I thought it was just a tattoo "No humans don't have cutie marks" I said back to her.

Twilight was just about done with her notes until there was a knock on the door, "I'll get it" she said standing up and started trotting to the door.

"Oh hey everypony, the human is just in the sofa" I heard her say, I got confused when she said 'everypony' isn't it supposed to be everybody or everyone.

They all came up to me "Um, hello..." was all I could say being a little nervous, I was always nervous around new people or in this case, new ponies.

"Why hello there sugar cube, Ah'm Applejack" an orange pony with freckles and a blonde mane and tail, she was holding out a hoof for me to shake so I grabbed the hoof and shook it, she also had a strange texan accent, well she's a cowgirl or in this case a cowpony, the stetson hat she's wearing would explain it all..

"Um... My names Connor" was all I could say.

"Ah run the farm of Sweet Apple Acres, Where we grow the best apples in Equestria, maybe you can come over to mah farm sometime and I can show you" she boasted sounding proud.

"That will be nice" I said.

Then another pony came over to me, she was a cyan blue Pegasus with a rainbow coloured mane and tail 'WOW first there's ponies, then a unicorn, a pony with wings and a horn, then a baby dragon and now a Pegasus, so mythical creatures must live hear', i thought to myself.

"The names Rainbow Dash" she said as we did a hand/hoof shake, she sounded like a tomboy.

"Nice to meet you" I said, I'm not even feeling nervous now, in fact I feel pretty confident around them.

"I'm the fastest flier on all of Equestria, I'm also the weather captain, maybe one day I can show you all my awesome tricks" she said.

"Well why not, I haven't seen an air show in quite a while" The last time I saw an airshow was at some place in a small town called Ducksford, I saw some World War 2 planes and even the AC130.

"Cool" she said.

Then I saw a pale yellow Pegasus with a long pink mane and tail hide behind Twilight, Twilight gestured her to say hello to me as everyone else was staring at her "Oh.. um hi" she said, I think she's a rather timid pony, it's like she's scared of me, or she really is scared of me.

"Why, hello there" I said politely trying to make her not scared of me "Um, you do know I'm not going to hurt you, in fact I'm the one who should be scared since this is a new world and all" I said trying to assure her.

"Oh okay, I'm Flutter..." she said but i was either going death or she stopped talking.

"Can you speak up please?" I asked to make sure.

But again she said "I'm Flutter..."

"Come again?" I asked.

"Fluttershy" she managed to say but she was still quiet, that name kind of suits her actually, she hid half her face behind her mane, 'Wow I can't believe I'm actually saying this but that is extremely cute' I thought.

"She looks after animals that are hurt or sick" Rainbow said before I could ask, Fluttershy continued to hide behind Twilight.

"The names Rarity Belle but just call me Rarity darling" said another unicorn with white fur and a styled dark purple mane and tail "Sorry no offence but may I ask how you got your clothes looking terribly dirty?" she asked me, I looked down at my shirt to see it has been ripped and gotten very dirty from the explosion.

"Well uh... lets just say it's a long story" I said not wanting to tell them about what happened.

"Well lets forget that, can you come down to my boutique later so I can get your sizes done for some new clothes, you can't go around Ponyville looking like that" well she was right about one thing, I can't go around Ponyville looking like this

"Sure" was all I can say until a pink pony with a fluffy pink mane and tail started talking like she was hyper.

"HI-I'm-Pinkie-Pie-I-would-like-to-be-your-new-best-friend-and you're-new-here-so-that-means-" she gasped like she was going to die and then I could have sworn she disappeared in a pink cloud of smoke.

"Um... what just happened?" I asked confused

"Don't worry, I don't want to spoil it so I won't and don't think about what her antics, your head wont hurt when you think if you do" said Rainbow trying to get me to think straight again.

"So howd' you get into Equestria? Applejack asked, I began to feel uneasy.

"Twilight, are you sure I should tell them?" I asked her.

"You should." She replied and nodded.

I sighed, "It began when I was in my house,me and my family talking to each other in the living room but you see, my country was in war with another country, and then out of nowhere there was an explosion and I blacked out, when i woke up realizing I miraculously survived, I looked around to see the street I lived on was just all rubble now, I looked to see my family dead and my house also turned to rubble" I tears began to fill my eyes "My friends over the road I also saw were dead, it's like I was the only survivor, so I began crying, about 10 minutes of crying later, I heard a humming noise and looked up to see a bright almost blinding light, not caring if it was going to kill me, I let it hot my and I blacked out again, and when I woke up, I was in Ponyville Hospital" tears began rolling down my face and i looked up at the other ponies who had a sad look on there faces.

"I didn't think it'd be that bad sugar cube" said Applejack "I feel sorry fer ya".

"It's okay, I'll get over it." I said wiping the tears off my cheeks.

"Um.. sorry" said Fluttershy "But i got to go and look after my animals, It's nice to meet you Connor, sorry for what happened" she started going towards the door.

"It's okay, bye Fluttershy" she left waving a hoof

"Um yeah I've got to go as well, see ya" said Rainbow Dash

"Bye" I said as she left.

"Sorry sugar cube, but I've got to do some more work on the farm, see ya around"

"Bye Applejack" she waved at me.

It was only me, Rarity and Twilight left, "Hey darling do you mind if we can have our appointment at my boutique done now?" Rarity asked me.

"sure why not" I said as the three of us left the library.
