The Orb Of Magic

Chapter 1 - Confusion
A light patter of water droplets and some scuttling rodents can be heard. The noises seem to echo quite loudly and linger for a while before becoming silent until the next drop of water or the next sudden movement. A quiet muffled scream brings you to your senses. As you slowly become conscious, a damp and stale smell fills your nostrils. You try to peel your eyes open, but they feel heavy and worn out. As you open your eyes, you start to make out your surroundings. You find yourself in what seems to be a huge and empty room, but its hard to tell.
"Where am I?" You become shocked at your own voice, as if you have never heard speech before. You look down at yourself to notice you are wearing a small white vest and some black shorts. Your noticeably revealing clothing makes you shiver as you slowly become cold. As you try to get a bearing of your surroundings one more, you realize that all you can see is the dark stone floor you are sat on and the damp wall you are leaning on, everything else is black, as if there is a thick black fog all around you. The screams from before are heard again, you panic as your first thoughts are pain and agony, but as you notice that they are not screams of pain, but screams of anger, your mind calms itself.
"What the hell is going on here!" you shout, hoping for an answer. No voices call back to you aside from the echo of your own words.
As you realize that you have no idea what is going on, your mind starts to wonder onto different subjects.
"Who am I anyway? I... I don't remember anything". As your mind continues to wonder, you start to believe that you may never find out what has happened to you. After thinking for what felt like a few hours, You become shocked at the thick black fog that surrounds you starting to recede. It takes a few seconds to realize that there is no black fog at all, but rather no form of light. Your eyes start to adjust to the darkness to reveal a dark passage on the other side of the room you are in. Your eyes seem to keep your vision impaired for longer distances, but you shrug it off as you decide to head towards the passage.
You try to stand but instantly fall back down. Your bones are weak and you are exhausted. You feel like you have done a lot of running or have done some sort of exercise with your legs, but your mind ignores the exhaustion as you just want to get out of this place. You try to stand again. This time, you use the wall as leverage to stand. leaning on the damp surface makes you shiver as it is cold to the touch along side the air you are breathing.
After standing still for about a minute, you try to take a step forward. You fall to the ground as your legs give in. You land on your shoulder to try and take the impact. The pain forces you to let out a small shout. "Argh!". You Sigh "That's gonna hurt later". When you try again, balance seems to favor you this time as you find it a lot easier to stand. You feel confident in moving forward, and after two steps, you are sure you are capable of efficiently moving on foot. You slowly make your way over to what seems as the exit that you had seen earlier, but in exhaustion you fall onto the passage way's frame. As you try to gain balance, you start to hear the yells again.
The voices are clearer this time, you try to listen to what they say but can only manage to hear a few words. "Where... it... quickly!" Is all you can make out, the voice sounds extremely desperate and in a hurry. As you stumble on, you try to make out some shapes you see in the corridor, but nothing is recognizable as everything is too far out of your vision, and you don't dare stray from the path you are taking to look at mere structure.
As you move onwards, you realize that you can hear rumbling and tapping like footsteps every so often. It sounds as if someone or something is running around and above you. The sounds seem to be getting louder and closer as you press onwards. After a long while, you start to notice the footsteps getting a lot louder very suddenly. You panic and try to run forwards but stumble and fall down, landing on your knees. You feel you kneecaps vibrate as the direct hit to them trembles your legs. The footsteps sound as if they are right above you as you notice them passing over your head.
You rest for a moment as you believe the sounds have stopped, then the voices can be heard again. "We have to find it quickly, before its too late!" A voice yells. This voice sounded different to the one previous. This makes you come to the fearful conclusion of there being more that one creature above you. As the footsteps carry on ahead, Your conclusion is proved to be somewhat correct as you decipher more that two footsteps. It sounds as if there are about ten people above you.
As you try to rest, you notice a slight bulge in your pocket. You shove your hand into your pocket and pull out what seems to feel smooth and round. You pull the object out and raise it close to your eyes. Your eyes widen as it seems to be a small glass ball encasing some sort of smoke. As you inspect the ball more, you notice that it gives off a small amount of light that seems to pulsate every few seconds. Although a very weak light is being given off, you wonder why you had never noticed this before. As you continue to gawk at the object, a thought worms its way into your head. "What if this is what the voices are after?" you blurt out.
After pondering for a moment, you fear that your mind is correct. The thought of being caught where you rest makes you decide that it's best to keep moving, otherwise you are just a sitting duck. You slip the ball back into your pocket and try to stand. You can't seem to muster the strength up to stand as your legs are still in pain from your crash landing earlier. You need to keep moving, so crawling on all fours will have to do, even if you are leaning on your painful knees.
After what seemed like a few hours, you reach the end of the passage. A thankful sigh releases itself from your lips as you realize you actually getting somewhere. The junction ahead leads a big metal door to the left and a stairway to the right. The stairway only goes down, giving you the conclusion that you are on the top floor. You don't want to stray off of where you think will take you to the exit, so you come to the conclusion that going down the stairs will have to do. You think that going down stairs on all fours is not a very wise decision, but with your legs not letting you walk, your try to make your way down. You move slowly to try and not lose grip, but despite your efforts, you slip and tumble down the stairs."Ow! Oof! Crap!" You heavily fall down the steps, crashing down to the bottom.
As you land at the bottom, you crash into a wall head first. You slump down the rock hard cushion in pain and the fact that you had hit your head making you feel extremely woozy didn't help. You groan in pain at first but after thinking you heard a voice, you try to suppress the noises escaping your mouth. You try to listen closely when a voice speaks out "D'ya guys hear that?". This voice seemed more country like and female, but with pain dwelling in your legs, your mind forgets about what you just thought. You notice that somehow you have cut your leg during the tumble down the stairs. You seem to be bleeding as the cut is quite wide. The blood is warm, which makes you shiver as you realize once again that you are cold.
You hear other voices speaking, but the dizziness in your head restricts you from listening in. During your rest against the wall, questions start to race through your mind as you panic once again. You have no idea how you got here and are just so confused. "Why is this happening?" You whisper. You decide it is best to keep moving on, so you start to crawl forward. A few moments on, you reach a turn in the new corridor you are in. Your mind questions the existence of a small wood panel against a wall. The wood panel seems to be covering a window as a small slit of sunshine is let through.
You try to crawl over to the window, still not believing what your eyes are telling you. Suddenly something dashes past you hitting you in the shoulder. You yelp out in pain and shock as the impact had hit you on the shoulder you landed on earlier. you twist around and tumble over onto your back. You feel something land on top of you with a big thud. As you try to look up, you have a hard time seeing what is above you as the crack of light rests over your eyes. The light is a massive contrast to the darkness you were just in, making vision painful and almost impossible. It is too bright to make out what is above you as you lie there on the floor.
As your eyes start to adjust to the light, you notice that the figure seems to have some form of long, thick poles in place of arms. The creature above you doesn't look anything like a human from what you can see. "Who areaaaAHH" You question is interrupted as the arm-pole thing has come crashing down upon your face. You cover your nose as you feel a blood stream run from your nose down to your mouth. The bitter taste of blood makes you realize that your nose no longer seems to work how it was earlier."What the hell!"
Your scream did not seem to affect the creature above you. You are pinned by what seems like two large stumps on your shoulders."What on earth are you!" the voice yells at you. You remain silent as you are distracted by your previously intact nose. "Where is the Orb?!" The voice yells.
"What? Orb?". You remember the small orb in your pocket, but as you are so confused, you don't even think about taking it out of your pocket. You mind races as more voices close in. All of the sudden events bombards your mind with many questions.
You try to question the being. "Where am I?"
"Shut up! You have the Orb, now give it back!" The being sounds serious. You think about reaching into your pocket and handing this creature the orb, but you fear that you can't move your hands or else it might think you are trying to pull something. "I-I-I" You see the arm thing raise into the air and you assume it is going to strike your face again. You put your arms up over your face in hopes that you can stop the blow. A loud "Gahh!" escapes your mouth as you feel the air leaving your lungs and pain flow through your chest.
You hear the sound of one or maybe two ribs cracking. As you try to gasp for air, you notice you're no longer being pinned down. You use this chance to escape the non-human like being. As you turn and crawl for safety, you slide down onto the floor as the pain is too much. Another being is stood over you. "Whoa there! What the hay!?" That voice is the same country one as before. With the darkness enveloping the creatures and your fuzzy vision, all you can see are four stumps. You try to scramble under the creatures stumps when something presses down on your left leg.
"Tell us where the Orb is or you will regret it pal" A Boyish voice yells. In panic you try to reason with them "Please, I don't know whaaaAAAHHH!". Your leg suddenly cracks due to the pressure added to it. The pain alone almost knocks you unconscious, but you try just manage to pull through due to the adrenaline kicking in. Another voice pursues quickly. "Wait stop! We can reason with it!" You try to look around when you notice the pressure loosen on your broken leg. While The others seem distracted, you slip away from them.
As you notice that your movement is being completely fed off of adrenaline, you crawl forward faster than you have ever done before, but the broken leg seems to be holding you back. At the end of the corridor you scrambled through, you reach the stairs that betrayed you before. You try to look for another way out but you have no luck. With only one way to go, you force yourself upwards. You ignore the pain as you try to climb more and more stairs. On your way up, you slip down a few steps every now and again in panic as you hear the voices yelling.
The stairs seem to go on further than you thought, probably because you are actually climbing them this time. One you finally reach the top, you reach the door you were at before. As you touch the door, you pull back quickly as it's extremely cold to the touch. You push open the door and burst through. A light wind is blowing and a small sigh of relief escapes your mouth as the sun casts light down upon you. You are relieved by the warmth and light as you thought you might never get out of that building.
As you crawl to the edge of the area you seem to have found yourself in, you notice you are on the roof of some sort of tall building. You lose your breath for a second as you didn't expect to be so high up. You almost slip as you look too far off which makes you panic and flinch a little. The quick jolt of your hand slipping makes you jump backwards. As you get back away from the edge you kick your working leg back as you try to get away from the incredible height. When you turn around, you notice something standing in the doorway.
You panic as you know that this is the creature from before. As the figure steps out, you try to make out what this thing really is. Your vision is still quite blurry from the blow to the head when you fell down the stairs. This makes working out what the figure really is, quite a challenge. You notice the figure is an orange with a slight blur of blonde. Out from behind it, two more figures emerge. One is a cyan colour with a colorful mess around it, while the other is a purple with some more darker purple.
You call out "Wait! Please! I don't understand!" The figures seem to ignore you as they walk closer. The creatures seem to walk slowly towards you as if to prolong your pain. Out from the doorway seem to be three more figures you hadn't noticed before. As you try to piece together what these things are, you seem to not notice them right next to you. The Purple one looks directly over you as you cower in front them. "What do you mean?" The question sounded calm and sincere. You try to sit up to project what you are saying but cant muster up enough strength.
"I just woke up here in a dark room, I don't understand what's going on."
"Yea Right" A sarcastic voice speaks out.
"I've had enough! Where is the Orb?!" You stutter in fear as well as the pain that is flowing through you at the moment "I-I-I..." In a quick and smooth action, you see a cyan colored pole-arm thing raise into the air and the come down quickly and heavily upon to your head. You notice the purple being seem to dive towards you, as if to guard you from the attack. "WAIT!" A voice calls out as you slump to the ground. A great ringing in your ear is heard, drowning out all other sounds. Your head rolls onto the ground as your vision begins to fade, the voices become muffled and hard to understand. Your surroundings and the floor you lie on begins to become darker. Everything continues to disappear from your senses as you slowly loose consciousness.

Chapter 2 - Understanding and Introduction
The birds chirp loudly together as if they were singing a small melody while the wind blows ever so softly around you. The Warm Sun shines down upon your skin to bring you seemingly endless comfort along side the strong scent of flowers and freshly cut grass. The ever so peaceful nature brings a small smile to your face as it starts to wake you from your seemingly endless slumber. "Ugh, what a weird dream". You don't even try to open your eyes as you feel so tired. You try to sit up but the weakness and exhaustion in your body keeps you down. "I hate mornings". You find it to be a slight chore to breathe through your nose as it aches constantly and the raising of your chest as your lungs inflate hurts as your chest moves. You hear loud trotting noises as you assume someone is walking on a wooden floor. As you force your eyelids to open, you are slightly taken by surprise at the fabric roof above you. "What the hell? Am I in some kind of tent?"
"Yes actually. You're in an outdoor hospital tent" a soft voice says.
At the shock of hearing someone else, you instantly try to jerk your head toward the voice. You instantly close your eyes and try to rub them as your painful shoulder tries but fails to restrict this action. As you open your eyes again the weird creature still remains where you saw it. "What the heck!?"
"Careful now. Try to relax, you need your rest" You are too confused to even comprehend the equestrian type figure in front of you. "Y-you're a talking horse!" You exclaim.
"Well excuse me! There is no need for name calling"
"But, Wh-what are you?"
"Hmmm, so it seems you have never seem my kind before? Well we don't exactly know what you are either..."
The fact that you are talking to some sort of horse baffles you to a state of slight panic. Are you going insane? Or are you in some kind of dream?
"I just don't understand. Where am I? What happened to me?" You think that maybe this talking animal might just know how to explain things.
"Well all I know is that six of the most lovely ponies came a brought you here in a hurry, and they were right to do so. Any longer in your state and who knows what would've happened to you" You remain silent as you eye the equestrian figure. As you watch, the creature walks over to a desk near you and seems to flip through a few pages on a clipboard.
"You had a broken leg..." The horse flips through a few more pages.
"Two cracked ribs and a broken nose. Oh! and it seems you had quite a blow to your head. What happened to you?"
You think back to what had happened to you before as you believe that might explain a few things. You remember a dark building, and being hunted down, and colorful beings. Looking back to the horse in front of you, you decide to take things calmly and try to get some answers. "I don't really remember. All I know is that i woke up in a dark and cold place, and..." you pause for a moment as all the horrible memories of that place come rushing back. "And I was being chased by something. I think they were after something I had." You remember the small glass ball that was in your pocket. You try to reach down into your pocket to realize that you aren't actually wearing any clothes. You are taken by shock but calm down slightly as you notice you are under a thin blanket.
"what was it you had?" the horse questions.
"I don't know. It was some sort of a glass ball" Upon realizing you have no clothes. You realize you also don't know where the ball is. "Where are my clothes?"
"Oh they are just in that drawer there" The creature points it's leg towards a drawer next to your bed. You believe its best not to take the ball out now as this creature may want it too. "So, do you know anything about why I'm here?" you question the equine.
"Not really I'm afraid. To be honest, I don't know anything about you. All I know is that I have never seen your kind before. What are you anyway? Do you know?" You think for a moment as you believe the horse may be as confused about what you are, as you are of them."I'm a human, and what about where I am?"
"Well, we are all Ponies. We live in this world as one of the dominant species. Alongside Griffons, Minotaurs and some others. But mostly Ponies".
Your mind begins to wonder as you think of what a world run by ponies may be like as the pony begins to speak again. "Well I have other patients to attend to, so if you have any questions about how you go there, you can ask the six ponies who brought you here when you next seem them. I do believe you have a scheduled visit in about an hour".
"Okay. Thanks" As soon as the pony leaves your tent your mind begins to think of a few unrelated questions. Why are you in an outdoor tent? If they don't know what you are, how did they fix your bones? Why are ponies the dominant species? Why can ponies even talk?
Upon realizing you are alone, you decide to open the drawer to your left to have a look at the ball. You reach over with your good arm thankfully and take a look inside the drawer. "Is that what I was wearing?" you whisper to yourself. After rummaging around, you find the pocket where the ball was last seen. You quickly shove your hand in and let out a sigh of relief as it is still there. You remove the ball and hold it in your hand for a few moments. You are taken away by how mysterious this looks. It's like someone has captured a never ending white smoke supply in it. You turn the ball around and rotate it to see if it is like this all over. As you realise that the ball looks kind of mysterious but not too much to see, you remember that it glowed last time you saw it. You cup your hands and put the ball into it. You bring your face closer to your hands to close the gap so no light can get in. The ball glows a soft white, about as bright as a small glow stick.
As you stare at the ball for a long time, you are taken back by the sudden trotting noises approaching. Although the trotting may not have been sudden at all but you had only just heard it now. You quickly slide the drawer open again a drop the ball back in and slam the drawer closed. You lie back down as to appear that you had not been doing anything when you hear voices just outside your tent. You realize that this may be the visit the assumed nurse pony had told you about. Has it really been an hour already?
As you lie down thinking, you don't notice three ponies walk in. "Hi there!" You are taken by surprise as you had no idea anything was beside you. As you quickly snap to your left, you see some familiar colors. The Pony closest to you is a lavender colored pony with a mane of dark purple and two streaks of pink and a lighter purple. This pony also seems to have some kind of horn sticking out from its mane. To it's left is a cyan colored pony that seems to have wings but has a peculiar mane color. It's mane has lots of colors next to each other, kind of like a rainbow. This pony seems to have a unimpressed look to it. And behind the purple pony seems to be a butter yellow one hiding behind it. You can see what seems to be a pink mane but as she is hiding, you can't see much.
"Uh... Hello?" The purple pony seems concerned about you just looking at them without saying anything. "Hi. Sorry"
"Ah! You can talk!" The purple pony seems pleased with herself while the rainbow one seems to just hover above the ground without much of a care.
"Okay! Well, I suppose we should introduce ourselves. I believe we may have gotten off to a bad start" The Purple pony smiles awkwardly as if awaiting approval but the un-approving look in your face makes her smile start to fade.
"I'm Twilight Sparkle, I own a library on the edge of town" The pony looks to it's left a points a leg at the rainbow colored one. "This is Rainbow Dash" Twilight looks towards Rainbow Dash and gestures to introduce herself. The flying pony seems reluctant but eventually gives a sign of defeat as Twilight doesn't back down. "Hey" Rainbow Dash looks towards Twilight as she is met with a disappointed gaze. The purple pony continues. "And as you may not have seen, this is Fluttershy" The purple pony takes a few steps to the right to reveal the yellow one behind it.
The yellow pony seems frightened at first but as you give her your best look to try and seem friendly, she raises her head and whispers. "I'm..." The Yellow pony seems to say something else but you can't hear it under its whisper. "Fluttershy right? Is that what you said?" The Yellow pony seems to nod shyly while hiding under its mane. You also notice that Fluttershy also seems to have wings but they are tucked away to her sides.
"So, ugh, I assume you're all female?" you ask curiously "Just to clarify"
The purple pony turns her attention towards you as she speaks up. "Yes"
"And why do you have a horn and the others have wings? Is that normal?"
"Yes, I'm a unicorn, with my horn I can cast spells and conjure magic, and the others are called pegusi or a pegasus for singular". This world just gets stranger and stranger.
As you ponder on the fact that magic exists, you notice the three pony-unicorn-pegasus things discuss something privately. You sit up and lean back on the headboard of your bed. After staring at the three for some time, they turn to look at you when Twilight Sparkle speaks up. "Well we're sorry for... well... putting you here. I just don't know what got into Rainbow"
"That's Fine, don't worry about it". It's completely not fine but you don't want to waste your energy shouting when you need to be recovering. Twilight gestures to Rainbow as if to apologize. Rainbow looks slightly annoyed by this when she quickly speaks. "Yea, uh sorry. I didn't realize you had such weak bones" Rainbow looks back towards the purple unicorn as if for approval when Twilight shakes her head. Rainbow looks back to you reluctantly. "Uh, I mean, I didn't mean to go overboard. It's just that place brings back bad memories and I got angry and too carried away" Twilight sighs as what must be annoyance.
Twilight draws her attention back to you "Uh, anyway, we have a question for you. We would've tried and been friendly before, when Rainbow shot off in a violent mood". The purple unicorn looks apologetically towards you when you nod as if to accept the apology. "You have, or maybe had something very important. Its a Glass orb. Do you have it?" You ponder for a moment if you want to give this away to them. You decide to find out how important it actually is first. "Why is it important?" You try to sound innocent and it seems to work.
"Oh. It's... well... In short, it is the source of magic. It contains a type of gas that allows magic to be used. If it gets destroyed and the gas escapes, then magic won't be able to be used anymore. Unicorns won't be able to cast spells, pegusi won't be able to fly and earth ponies won't have their amazing endurance."
You think for a moment as you realize that it's probably best you give it back. You reach over to your drawer and open it. you reach in and take out the ball. "Is this what you need?"
"Yes! Quickly give it to me!" She lifts her hoof and holds it like an open hand. You lower your hand to just above her hoof and drop the ball on to it. "Ah!" Twilight quickly retracts her leg and shakes it in pain. You quickly move your arm "Are you okay?"
"Yea, I didn't expect it to be so heavy" Twilight goes down to pick the ball up in her mouth. She chomps down on it and tries to lift her head. She is unable to make the orb move an inch. "It won't move" she shouts. Rainbow Dash slowly hovers over to the orb "Here let me try". Rainbow somehow gets a grip on the ball with her two front hooves and uses her wings to lift upwards, however she stays in the same spot. "Wow that is heavy" she exclaims.
Twilight ponders for a moment tapping her hoof onto her muzzle a few times before she speaks towards you "It seems the orb is extremely heavy"
"I didn't have any trouble carrying it" you blurt out. Twilight thinks for a moment as she looks to her left and grabs some sort of tool. "This is quite heavy but I can lift it on one hoof. Here you try" You hold out your hand and drops it on to your palm.
"Wow it is kinda heavy". Twilight looks up and taps her muzzle a few times again.
"Hmmm it seems that only you can carry the orb. And you have no trouble holding it?"
"No"
"Well the orb will have to reside with you for a while until we can get you out of here".
Twilight looks up to you and raises another question. "What's your name anyway?"
"Uh, I don't know. All I know is that I'm a human being" A voice from outside the tent interrupts your conversation. "Okay my little ponies, visiting times are over!"
Twilight speaks one last time "Hmmm well I think you're leaving the hospital tomorrow so we will be here when you leave" Twilight and the others turn to leave when you shout "Okay see ya!". You finally sigh as you don't have to worry about any more questions, although you do have one yourself.
As you see the ponies leave you take one last look at the orb as you wonder why it is so heavy for the ponies but not you. You decide to put the ball back in the drawer in case you drop it and break it. As you lean over your attention draws the the pain of breathing once again. You worry as you believe that it will be annoying as the days go by, but if what the ponies say is true about you leaving tomorrow, hopefully the pain would fade soon. You lie back down as you notice the sun is no longer high in the sky but a touch of moonlight fills the tent. You are still unsure how the warmth is reaching you even under the cold moon's glare, but you decide to ignore it as you think about what you will even do in a strange world filled with ponies. You decide to brush the thought off as you will worry about that tomorrow when you are let out of hospital.
Chapter 3 - Twilight being creepy
Chapter 3 - Twilight being creepy
The sun rests high in the clear sky as the smell of freshly cut grass and other types of plants linger in the air, although there is that hint of chemicals in the air. Probably from the hospital medications and tools. The sound of small children playing in the distance floods your ears alongside the rare conversation of people that walk by. As you wake, you lift your hands to your face and rub your eyes. Slowly you open your eyes to look up at your hands. They seem to be covered in a type of oil which confuses you until you realize that you're probably just really dirty. When was the last time you had a shower anyway?
"They look kinda weird. What are they?" You widen your eyes in shock of someone nearby. You shoot up in your bed and quickly turn to face the owner of the voice. As you look around you notice the voice comes from a purple figure, one which you now remember is a pony. You show a face of disapproval as you face the fact that this whole pony thing isn't some kind of horrible dream. "Oh sorry! I didn't mean to scare you" The purple unicorn has an apologetic look upon her face.
"Where you watching me sleep?!" you panic slightly wondering why the pony was watching you, and while you slept. Pretty creepy.
"Er, no! Well yes... But not in a creepy way or anything"
"Why?!" you quickly snap.
"Well I came by to check on you and you were still asleep, I didn't want to wake you" The purple pony puts on a convincing smile as she still remains where she is. The ponies name escapes you as you worry about the recent events.
You decide that it's probably best to brush it off. "So, what are they anyway?" The pony questions. "What are what?" The pony sits up and walks closer to your bed when she lift a hoof and gestures to your hand. "Oh. It's a hand, you know four fingers and a thumb"
"Hmmm. Interesting. The closest I've seen to this 'hand' are claws, but even they're different" The pony seems to keep her concentration on your hand. You lift your hand in front of her face and wiggle your fingers a few times and flip your hand a few more. While fixated on your hands a new pony seems to creep into the tent. The pony seems to have no horn or wings but is a light brown shade while a darker brown mane.
"Ah! You're awake" The brown, presumably male pony walks over to a clipboard on a desk nearby and picks it up in his mouth. The pony looks at you curiously as you and the unicorns attention is on him. He trots over to your bedside and drops the clipboard onto your chest. You pick up the board and take a look at what is written there when the brown pony speaks up. "It says there that today is the day you get let out. Now before you go, I'm going to have to ask you a few questions okay?"
"Uh, okay"
"Right, now first of all, are you feeling any immense pain anywhere?"
"Um... No" you say unsurely.
"Good. Now, do you have any medical conditions?"
"Uhh, not that I know of"
"Okay then. And lastly, do you have any place to go once you leave?" You are about to confirm that you don't when something prods at your arm. You look over to see the unicorn nod softly accompanied with a warm smile. "I... I guess so"
"Great! Then you're ready to go!"
With a flick of a hoof the brown pony gestures you to leave the tent. You swivel your hips around so your legs are dangling over the edge of the bed. As you are about to stand, you realize that you are completely butt naked. "Uh... can I get changed first?"
"Certainly" the unicorn quickly snaps. The two ponies remain in the room with their eyes fixated on you. The unicorn looks curious as you don't move. "Is anything wrong?"
"You're watching me. Can I have some privacy?"
"Oh. Uh. Okay?" The two ponies seeming confused look at each other hoping for an explanation, however they are met with the same confused face. The two ponies trot out of the tent while the brown pony yells "Call when you're done!"
Thankful that you wouldn't have to get changed in front of two ponies, you quickly get changed. The task however seems to be harder than you first thought as lying in bed for however long you have been here has taken its toll on your legs. They ache as you try to lean on them, but you manage to keep a steady balance. Once you are changed, you shout out "Okay! I'm ready!". The two ponies casually trot back into the tent but only remain at the entrance. "Okay then, if you'd like to follow me" The brown pony gives a short smile before heading out of the tent once again.
You take few steps forward as you start to stumble slightly. The purple unicorn quickly rushes to your side to catch you if you fall. Knowing that something in a strange world is actually trying to keep you safe brings a small smile to your face. The unicorn looks up at you as she begins to speak "What're you doing? Why are you walking like that?"
"Like what?"
"Standing on your two hind legs" After pondering for a moment, you seem to understand why. "It's how I'm supposed to walk. From what I know, humans don't walk on all fours. We walk upright like this"
"Strange, I've never seen anything like it" The purple pony looks down for a moment as if to ponder on this. After a short while, she starts to progress forwards slowly to try and help you keep balance.
As you approach the exit of the tent, the unicorn quickly speaks to you "Do you have the orb?"
"Yea, it's here" You take the orb out of your pocket to show her. The unicorn looks pleased at the fact that its safe as you slip it back into your pocket. Once you are at the exit, you find that you have to bend down a bit as you seem to be much taller than the ponies that you have seen. The ponies seem to come up to about your waist height, so you are just under being twice as tall as them. Maybe a little less. After going through the exit, you raise your head again to see what is in front of you. You stop moving when you gawk in awe as you take notice of a large form of village in front of you. You see ponies walking through streets, going about their daily lives. You see ponies running stalls and shops while others buy the goods they have to sell. As you remain still, you start to feel the soft wind blow into your face as you embrace the smell of freshly cut grass and flowers."Wow" The words escape your mouth without you even meaning to say them.
"Come on, this way" The brown pony speaks as he interrupts your stare at the village in front of you. He waves a hoof in front of your face to try to get your attention, when you realize that you must have been staring for over a few minutes. You turn your head to see where to go while the brown pony gives you a smile and starts to walk towards a building close to you. You turn and start to head in the direction of the building which you assume is the actual hospital. As you start walking, you feel something brush up against your leg. You look down and see the purple unicorn try to help you keep balance. A smile once again finds itself upon your face.
Once you reach the front door, you notice that the door seems to be higher than the tent's entrance. This door seems to come up to about your eye level which is a slight relief meaning you don't have to bend down completely every time you want to go somewhere. After entering the building you notice you are in some kind of reception area. The brown pony turns to face you. "Wait here one moment please, and I'll get some paper work you need to fill in". The pony trots off into a hallway nearby, who is followed by the unicorn. Being left alone in a strange place, you decide to investigate slightly without moving. As you look around, you notice a few ponies sitting in what seems to be a waiting room opposite the room you are in. One pony notices you and shoves its elbow into a adjacent pony. The two ponies look at you confused and slightly terrified. You give a small smile to them when they decide to move out of your view.
The brown pony returns alongside the purple unicorn when they both walk over to you. "Can you just sign here for me please?" The brown pony says after he drops the paper that was in his mouth alongside a pen onto your lap. You pick up the pen and get ready to sign the paper when you realize you have no idea what to write. "Uh, what do I write?" The brown pony gains a confused expression "Your signature, or your name, whatever is fine". You think for a moment as you realize that you don't know your name or even if you had one. "I don't know my name" you bow your head as you feel stupid just saying that.
The unicorn looks up as if to ponder for a moment before she speaks to you "You-you said before. That you don't know anything right? That means you must have suffered from some kind of amnesia". You nod as if to confirm that you have no idea of what happened before you woke up in a weird building. The unicorn continues "So that means you have no idea how you got the orb or anything right?". You nod again.
"Hmmm. Then for the time being, I will have to assign you a name". The unicorn's eyes look up and down at you then down to the floor. She taps her muzzle a few times with her hoof as if to show that she's thinking before the quickly yells something.
"Mystery!"
"What?" You reply.
"Mystery. That's what I think we should refer to you as for the moment, because you're a mystery" The unicorn looks very smug as she seems to be proud of the name she has come up with.
"Okay then I guess" Reluctantly, you pick the pen up and write the word 'Mystery' into the signature box. As stupid you may think that sounds, you decide to go with it and you can't think of anything better yourself at the moment. The brown pony pleased at finally having the box signed takes the paper and waves a hoof "Okay you're free to go now". You watch as the pony seems to walk of quite happily while just letting you go. With an unseen wave of your hand to him, you attention is drawn back to the unicorn. "What was your name again?" you ask.
"Twilight. Twilight Sparkle"
Twilight starts to turn and face the doorway when she looks back at you. You question her quickly "Where are we going?"
"We're going to my place, and along the way I'm going to ask you a few questions" Twilight walks towards the door the suddenly raises her head as if she had remembered something. She quickly rushes to your side to help you keep balance. "It's okay, I'm fine"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, thanks anyway" Twilight turns to take a step back to watch you. As you try to look confident you take a step forward. The step then turns into a tumble, as you almost slip on nothing, Twilight quickly rushes over to you as she dives underneath you. The landing was soft as the pony used herself as a landing cushion. Twilight looks back at you with a smug look smeared across her face. "You're fine huh?"
"Okay maybe not" you reluctantly blurt out.
You push your hands on the floor as you stand back on your two feet when the unicorn shuffles over to your side, allowing you to lean on her slightly. "Thank you" you look down upon the unicorn showing a warm smile when she looks up to you. "Oh it's fine. Now come on, I've got a lot of questions to ask" You sigh slightly as you know that this journey is going to be a long one with all the questions as you are sure she has many of them. "I need to ask some questions too" you add.
"That's fine" Twilight smiles before lowering her head and starting to walk slowly towards the door. You walk slowly out of the door, once again lowering your head under the frame. As you step outside you see the village again. In a world without other people like you and nowhere to go really makes you feel slightly lost, yet with the ability to do anything you want, makes you feel free and unstoppable.
The unicorn nudges you as you realize that you have stopped walking and started staring at the village again. "I think you will absolutely love my friends. They're the most amazing ponies I've ever met. They are loving, caring and absolutely fun to be around. Sorry they weren't here to pick you up but they all have jobs to take care of like the rest of us. I mean I could come and see you because my job is quite free with times and things" Twilight intrudes.
"Don't worry about it. I'm sure they're lovely" You add. Twilight looks at the village and then back at you. "I'm sure you're really confused about all this"
"Yea, I don't even know how I got here, I just woke up in that horrible place"
"Well hopefully we can figure this whole thing out soon" Twilight pushes against you as to start you walking in the chosen direction when she speaks in a soft voice "C'mon let's get you over to my home"

Chapter 4 - Questions. Lots of questions
With the wind blowing in your face and the sun shining down upon you, you loose
concentration of your surroundings. You can't get over how the smell of nature and
flowers just lingers everywhere you go. "So, to recap what I had said earlier; We are
going to my place, I'm going to ask you some questions and you will spend the night as
you have nowhere to go. Then tomorrow we will go visit Rarity. After spending a bit of
time there we will go visit Fluttershy. I'm not sure how long this will take so lets
assume all day". You look down at Twilight and raise an eyebrow.
"A whole day for that? How many of your friends do I have to meet?" You question the
unicorn. Twilight looks up at you and notices the slight worry on your face about how
long and tedious you think this is going to be when she tries to reassure you.
"Don't worry it wont take that long, and you will love meeting them. Besides there's only
five" Twilight looks up at you and tries to pull an assuring smile which is met with
only a small sigh. As you press onwards Twilight begins to do what you were dreading.
"So... Uh, what do you know about all this anyway?"
"I don't really know, I just woke up in a dark building being hunted down by well that
rainbow colored pony. I really don't appreciate being on the edge of death all because
she 'got carried away'. The next time I see her, I think punishment will be due" A small
smirk find itself onto your face when then unicorn interrupts.
"Um. Punishment? She didn't mean to do that to you, I'm sure you two will get along just
fine. Why don't we forget about what happened that day okay? You know put it all behind
us. We don't really like violence here and rainbow will be scolded by the princess I'm
sure. Don't you think that you will be going a little overboard if you do whatever you
are thinking?" The Purple pony pulls a face as if to try and help her case.
As Twilight tries to convince you against what you may do, you think for a moment. What
if I repay her they way she damaged me? I'll break her nose, and snap her leg. You
quickly open your eyes wide and shake your head at the dark thoughts. "What the hell is
wrong with me?!" You quickly shout. This grabs the attention of Twilight who quickly stops
walking to face you.
"What's wrong? Are you okay? Nothing's wrong with you" Despite the unicorn's reassuring
words, you don't feel any better. "Look let's get you back to my home and I'll get you a
nice drink okay? I'll even set you up a nice bed. I think all the confusion is getting
to you". You nod lightly and smile thankfully. You begin to walk once again as Twilight
seems a little confused.
The trip back to Twilight's home was silent, but the occasional glance is shared. As you
continue to walk however, your completely repaired leg stops aching. You stop for a
moment and swing your leg a few times to see if the ache has actually stopped or you
just wasn't feeling it at that moment. To your pleasure, there is no pain at all "I-I
think I might be able to walk by myself now". Twilight takes a few steps back, looking
ready as if to dive forward again. Upon seeing the unicorn take place, you let out a
small chuckle which is met with a reassuring grin. You take one step forward and land
steadily on your foot, then you take another. Seeing Twilight ready to catch you and
taking slow steps, you feel like a child, just learning how to walk for the first time.
As you think about the speed you are travelling, you realize that you are going really
slow, but another thought comes to mind. "Hey Twilight?"
"Yes Mystery?" With Twilight seeming pleased once again that she had named you, you
think for a moment as if to ask what you are about to ask, but you do anyway. "Because
you're a pony, and like a horse. Why can't I just... you know... ride you to your home?"
The unicorn seems taken back by this question. A disgusted face slowly rises upon
Twilight's face. Did I ask a bad question?
"Hey! There is no need for calling me a horse! Especially for what I'm doing for you.
And no you cannot ride me. I'm not some toy!". Yea, bad question. Twilight scrunches her
face as she turns away from you.
"I didn't mean to offend you. Sorry. I really appreciate you being friendly to me, if
you never showed up, I... I wouldn't have anywhere to go. And I'm sorry about suggesting
to ride you. It's just, from what I remember about where I came from, people rode
horses. And why do ponies get offended by being called a horse?" The unicorn turns back
around to look at you with a slightly relieved expression.
"We ponies get offended by being called horses because when actual horses where still
around... Well..." Twilight thinks for a while before continuing her sentence "Horses
used to just do anything with any other horse. While on the other hand, us ponies choose
our partners. So telling somepony a horse is basically telling somepony that they will
sleep with anypony" The unicorn looks down to the ground before poking a hoof at it a
few times "A-And I'm sorry for shouting at you like that. I didn't mean to"
"I'm sorry too, I didn't realize that it's an insult" You show an apologetic smile
towards Twilight When you start to continue walking. "So what does your place look like
anyway can I ask?" You look towards Twilight when she lift a hoof and points at
something.
"We're almost there" You look over to what she's pointing at but as you scan the area,
you can only make out what seems to be a large tree with windows. You quickly turn and
shoot a questioning glance towards the unicorn. Twilight smiles and nods a few times.
You turn your head back and look at Twilight again then back to the tree. Twilight lets
out a small giggle as she catches a glimpse of your confused expression.
You and Twilight stride up to what seems to be a door at the base of the tree-house
hybrid. Twilight bites down on the door know and turns the handle, then she pushes the
door open softly with her hoof. After looking at her curiously, she gestures you to
enter first. Feeling obliged you enter cautious of anything that might happen when a
quiet boyish voice yells. "Hey Twilight! Is that you?! I found that book you wanted" The
voice stops for a moment as a small green and purple reptile like creature walks out
from the top of some stairs while looking down at a book it has in its grasp. "I'm still
curious as to why you would need a book on ancient creatures".
The creature looks up and towards the door until it notices you. It gasps upon laying
its eyes on you and falls back on its behind. The book in its hand gets flung into the
air and lands on top of the creatures head. "Wha-what are you?" The creature seems
extremely terrified, but his expression fades slightly when Twilight emerges from behind
you.
"Aha Spike, I'd like you to meet Mystery! And Mystery, this is my assistant Spike!"
"Hi there Spike. Nice to meet you" you try to speak in the friendliest voice possible as
to try and comfort the reptile. The horror in its face starts to fade completely before
it takes a large and obvious gulp.
"H-Hey" The creature replies.
Twilight speaks as she takes a few more steps into the middle of the room you are in.
She looks towards Spike "Mystery is a human, that's why I wanted that book, to see if
his kind is in there. Oh and don't worry Spike, Mystery's as sweet as can be. Although
he is a bit clueless as he has no idea how he got into our world and has no memory of
his past" Twilight reassures Spike with a small smile as she picks the book up off of
the reptile's head. "And Mystery, Spike is a baby dragon. He may be a fearsome dragon,
but he's my number one assistant" From the look of Spike's blush, he obviously likes to
be complimented. Twilight starts to walk into a different room when you begin to follow.
"Can you wait here please. I just need to get something".
You turn to look at spike as he gets to his feet and dusts himself off. "So you have no
idea how you got to Equestria or just Ponyville?" The dragon seems slightly more
confident now but still seems a little intimidated of your incredible size. You must be
about three or four times as tall as him.
"What's Equestria or Ponyville? Is that where you guys live?"
"Oh right, no memory duh" Spike hits his forehead with the palm of his claws and makes a
stupid face. Spike thinks for a moment before continuing "Equestria is the world we live
in. It's made up of loads of towns and cities, and such a town is Ponyville. That's
where you are now."
"I don't really know" you mumble. The dragon seems really interested in you and wants to
know more.
"So what do you know? Oh! Have you met Twilight's friends? You've seem Rarity right? Oh
man, she's so beautiful and kind and sweet, and have you seen Fluttershy? She's shy yea,
but once you get to know her, she's as kind as anypony out there. Oh and what about
Rainbow Dash? She's so cool with her daring tricks and she's the most loyal pony I've
ever met. She'll never leave her friends hanging!" The dragon seems to go on and on
without any breaks for air when the word rainbow catches your ear.
"Wait Rainbow Dash, she has a rainbow colored mane right?"
"Yea, have you seen her? She's so awesome right?"
"Yea I've seen her, but she's going to wish she never laid eyes on me"
"Uh dude, that's kinda dark, what did she do to you?" Just as you are about to start
getting angry about what she did to you, your growing rage is interrupted by Twilight
re-entering the room.
"Ah I see you two are getting along just fine. Spike can you go upstairs and make sure
all the books are in the right order?" Spikes face drops at the word 'order' as he makes
a huffing sound.
"Fine" The dragon sounds annoyed and the grunting under his breath as he marches away
proves this. Just before the dragon is out of sight, Twilight yells one last thing to
him.
"And make sure they're in order A to Z!" You look over at Twilight who gives a slight
innocent look before looking over at a paper and quill to your left. A strong pink glow
starts to gather around her horn and around the paper and quill which is now floating in
her direction quite fast.
"What the hell?!" you shout. The glow around Twilight's horn disappears as the paper and
quill drop to the floor.
"What? What happened?" Twilight questions.
"Did you do that? The pink glowy stuff?"
"Yea, Its my magic, I was levitating the paper and quill to me so I can take notes"
Twilight tilts her head slightly to the left to show her confusion before a look of
realization pops up on her face. "Oh right. You've never seem magic before. Well every
unicorn can use magic, and the strength of our magic depends on our studies, but some
lucky ponies just have a knack for that kind of thing. The color is also different for
every unicorn. Mine is magenta, yet my friend Rarity's is a baby blue"
"Oh okay. Sorry for panicking"
"Oh its fine" Twilight shows a warm smile and starts to use her magic again. Once the
equipment is in front of her, she puts the quill a few inches away from the paper.
"Okay, so I'm going to ask you a few questions, is this okay?" Not more questions,
didn't Spike question you enough? Despite the reluctance, you manage to nod. "Okay good.
So first question. What do you know about the orb and how you got it?" Twilight brings
the quill to touch the paper, ready to write down the first thing you say. Realizing
this, you decide to test the theory.
"Red" you quickly snap. A small chuckle escapes you as you notice that Twilight has
jotted down the word red. Twilight confused of this comment, looks up to see your face.
Twilight frowns and shows an amused smile.
"Very funny. Now what do you actually know?"
"Okay. I woke up in a damp and dark room. After I came to my senses, I noticed I had the
orb, but that was it. I didn't know what it was, I didn't know you guys were after it
and I had no idea what it did. Then when I woke up in hospital and you where there, I
remembered it and showed you. That's all I know" Twilight scribbles down some notes then
looks up at you.
"Do you have the orb by the way?"
"Yea" you put your hand down your pocket and quickly pull it out. Twilight nods and
shows a relieved face once again. You slip it back into your pocket and look back for
more questions. Only to be surprised by Twilight yawning. "Are you tired?" you ask.
"Yes, the sun is down anyway. We will continue this later, but for now, you need your
rest. We have a busy day tomorrow, so its best we call it a night here. Can you follow
me please?" Twilight trots into a room to your right. As you follow, you notice a few
pictures of Twilight with a white pony. Although the pony is much taller and seems to
have a horn and wings. Not to mention the weird colored hair. As you enter the room, you
notice a large pile of bedding in the middle. "Sorry its not a proper bed but its all i
can do unfortunately"
"Its wonderful. Thanks" You walk over to the bedding and lie down to test how
comfortable it will be. It's not the best, but it is definitely a nice thought. Twilight
walks over to the exit of the room and turns to face you with a proud grin.
"Have a good nights sleep. You'll need it"
"Thanks, you too" you add as Twilight turns away and trots out the room while switching
off the lights. You lay your head back onto a pillow of the makeshift bed and let out a relieved sigh. Why is
Twilight treating me so nicely? I mean, yea I have the orb and all, but she could just
ask me to put it somewhere and leave. Upon those thoughts, you close your eyes and
slowly drift off to sleep.
As you open your eyes, you notice that everything around you is dark except a small
light in the distance. You look around to notice that there is no floor or walls. You
look back up to the light when you hear some quiet mumbling. You can't quite make out if
the mumbling is a voice, just some humming or something else. You reach out to the light
in an attempt of touching it, only to realize that it's a lot further away than you first
had thought. Suddenly a falling sensation fills your body as everything begins to fade
to white.
Chapter 5 - Spikey-Wikey
"Ahhh!" You shoot up out of you sheets and start to breathe heavily. As you look around,
you hear the chirping of birds a song and children playing outside. You look over to a
window to your left as you see the sun seeping in through the bottom of the blinds. You
exhale loudly and rest your eyes as you are relieved that the falling and light was only
a dream. You rub your eyes at an attempt to try to clear the blurriness of your vision.
When you rub them however, you realize that your face is covered in dirt. You lift your
arm and smell your arm pit only to be pushed away by a foul odor. I really need a
shower. You start to look around but a sudden banging can be heard above you. Your head
follows the noise as you assume that it must be Twilight. The supposed footsteps seem to
make its may down to your level with the door to your right slams open.
"Mystery!" You quickly jerk your head over to the door way to see Twilight standing in
the door way huffing loudly. "Are you okay?" Twilight snaps. Her mane and fur is ruffled
as she had just woke and the colors in her tail are mixed up. As you give a soft nod,
Twilight slumps to the floor and shows a sigh of relief.
"Sorry, I had a weird dream and I was falling as I woke up" You give an apologetic smile
as Twilight smiles back. You both stare at each other for a moment as you hear a small
patter above you when a voice calls down.
"Twilight, its like, nine in the morning. Why are you making suck a loud racket. It's
not like you haven't sent your report to the princess yet" You hear the patter of
footsteps descend down the stairs and over to where you and Twilight are. As you try to
look past the slumped unicorn to try and get a view of Spike, you notice a small twitch
on Twilight's face.
"Uh Twilight? Are you okay?" you ask the heaped mess. Twilight remains silent as she
stares at you as if she wants your soul. A few more twitches occur before she jumps up
suddenly and yells in a hurry.
"Oh no! I haven't sent a letter to the princess yet! Where is my calendar!?" Twilight
rushes around your room, opening drawers and removing books from the shelves when you
notice Spike entering the room.
"Twilight, your calendar is where it always is..." Spike opens up a drawer right next to
the door and pulls out a calendar that has a picture of a dark colored pony on it.
Twilight quickly snatches the calendar out of Spikes claws and starts to scan through
the days.
"Oh no! Today is the deadline. If I don't get a friendship report in today, then I'm
going to be..." Twilight gasps as her eyes increase substantially in size. "TARDY! Oh
no, oh no, oh no!" Twilight gallops out of your room leaving Spike behind with a bemused
face.
"Don't worry Mystery, she always obsesses over the smallest things. Do you want me to
make you anything? Food? A drink? Or do you need something specific?" The dragon walks
over to some books that have been thrown on the floor and starts to pick them up.
"Um" You hesitate as you remember that you stink and are in dire need of a shower. "Do
you have a shower?" You hold your breath waiting for some kind of negative answer. You
are surprised however, to hear the opposite.
"Yea, if you go up the stairs to the left then follow the hall, it's the second right.
Although..." There's the negative part "It might be a bit small for you, so it might be
a little awkward to get in, but you can give it a shot" Spike smiles at you as he
continues to pick up books and loose sheets of paper.
"Thanks!" You say before getting up and walking out of the room. As you exit you notice
some stairs that lead to a higher part of the house. "Wow... This is like some kind of
dream tree house" You whisper under your breath. As you follow the desired path you come
to a door that seems almost ridiculously small. After squeezing through the doorway,
your eyes open wide as you get a glimpse of the stupidly small shower. The top of the
shower reaches the bottom of your rib cage and the size is about the size of a pony
itself.
You remove your dirty clothes and take a few steps towards it before you stop to think
on how this is going to work. You slide into the shower awkwardly and find yourself
sitting down and crossing your legs, and you only just fit. As you look at the controls,
it's a button with a weird symbol on it and a lever with red at the top and blue on the
bottom. You press the button and to your expectation, water spews out from above the
shower. The water at first is extremely cold, but as you move the lever up, even the
slightest change makes the water become red hot, so you move the lever down again. The
water then become ice cold. This persists until you decide to settle with the cold
water. After deciding to stick to a temperature you realize that you will need some kind
of soap. As you look around, you are relieved to find some sort of bottle of liquid on a
shelf in the shower.
You slide out of the shower, slightly aching as being in a cramped shower and trying to
wash yourself was a little hard. Even the fluctuating water temperatures didn't help.
You look around and try to find something to wrap around yourself to no avail. You open
the door enough to fit your head through and peek around the corner. "Uh... Hello?!" You
yell.
"Hi there!" You jump back in panic of the voice being so close without seeing anything.
"Whoa, careful" Spike starts to push the door open when you jump up and slam it shut.
"Uh, is everything okay in there?"
"Yes. Sorry" You slightly open the door and peek out again. "Do you have something I can
wrap around myself?" You look at spike promisingly "Like a towel?"
"Yea sure" You watch Spike quickly run off into a different room until he arrives with a
small purple towel. "Here you are! It's Twilight's but I'm sure she'll be fine with it.
Why are you hiding behind the door by the way?" You look at the towel and think for a
moment.
"For privacy" Spike gives you a confused look when you continue "Anyway, thanks Spike"
You show a warm smile as Spike pulls an extremely pleased grin before he runs off into
another room. You back up and dry yourself as much as possible before you wrap the towel
around you. You grab your clothes off of the floor and walk out into the corridor. As
you make your way down to your previous room, you notice Twilight darting around a huge
room energetically "Hi Twilight!". Twilight doesn't see you, so you decide to make
yourself noticed. You walk into the middle of the room and repeat yourself louder. "Hey,
Twilight!" The unicorn slows down to greet you before continuing to race around the
room.
"Hey Mystery" You notice that she seems busy so you decide to question on what you
remembered from the day before.
"Twilight? You seem busy, are we still going to Rarity's?"
Twilight stops in her tracks before turning towards you "Oh no! I forgot about our
plans. Mystery, I'm really sorry but I have very important things to do so I can't make
it to Rarity's." Twilight's head shoots up "Oh I know! I'll send you over with Spike! He
always likes to visit her! Can you tell him that he's going to take you?"
"Uh sure"
"Thank you so much. I will make this up to you! I promise!" Twilight quickly speeds off
into another huge room full of books. You exhale loudly and make your way into the room
you slept in. You shut the door behind you as you sit down onto your makeshift bed. You
close your eyes as the sound and smells of nature flow around the room.
"This place always smells nice" You cheerfully whisper. You smile before you realize
that you should probably get dressed and go talk to Spike. You look at your clothes and
frown. "I need new clothes" You think for a moment as you realize that ponies don't wear
clothes so where would you find someone who will make you some. Reluctantly you put on
your old dusty clothes. You wrap the towel around your neck and make your way up to
where you last saw Spike.
"Spike?" You hear some banging in a room to your left before you get a reply.
"Just a second!" You wait for a moment before you hear a loud crash in the room. You
burst through the door to see spike poking out from the bottom of a huge pile of books.
"Oops" Spike squeaks.
"You need a hand?" you question. Spike at first waves his hand to gesture no, but
quickly corrects himself.
"Actually, Your pretty tall. You think you can put this book up
there for me?" Spike hands a book over to you. You look at the book which is titled
'Dangerous and rare creatures'. You look down and pout slightly.
"I'm not dangerous... I think" You mumble. You reach up and slot the book into the
correct space before you look down at spike as he hands you another book.
"And can you put this one here?" He points to a place that barely you can reach. As you
walk over to the book's destination, you decide to speak to Spike.
"Twilight said that you should take me to Rarity today, if that's good with you of
course" Spike jumps up out of happiness before shouting almost.
"Aww yea! Sure thing! Right after this book" Spike hands you another book called 'A
Dummy's guide to housing guests'. You show an amused face after reading that title.
After you put away the book, Spike starts tugging on your leg. "Okay. Thanks, ready to
go?"
"Uh, well yes" You smile. Spike runs out of the room as you follow. You make your way
down the stairs and notice the door to the house.
"Twilight! We're going out to Rarity's now!" Spike yells as you both continue to the
main door.
"Okay! Sorry I couldn't come!" Spike steps forward and opens the door for you. He smiles
and put an arm across his chest as if to gesture you to leave first.
"Thanks!" you exclaim. As you leave the building, Spike follows anxiously before
slamming the door shut. "So which direction are we going?" Spike points a claw towards
the large village in front of you.
"Straight through town!" As you gulp and worry about the attention you might draw, Spike
picks up on your anxiety. "Don't worry about the looks you might get, the ponies that
might get worried, the ponies that might run away or the blood curdling screams you
might hear. It's only because nopony has seen you before, or any other human. Or have
even heard of a human at all! Anyway, Follow me" Spike's worlds of comfort had not done
much to ease your concerns as you cautiously start to follow.
As you begin to approach the village you notice a few ponies catch sight of you from a
distance. The ponies just seem to be staring at you before Spike interrupts your staring
contest with the village. "So have you met any of Twilight's friends yet?"
"Uh... I've met Butterfly? Or something like that I think. And unfortunately I've had an
encounter with Rainbow Dash" You frown at the thought of Rainbow Dash's hostility.
"It's Fluttershy and why unfortunately with Rainbow Dash?" Spike looks back for a moment
with a curious look upon his face before turning back again.
"I had a pretty bad run in with her when I first came too in this world. And by
unfortunate, I mean that she almost killed me"
"What?! Rainbow almost killed you? That's not like her at all!"
"Yea and even when I spoke to her after, she didn't even apologize properly. At the
time, I was pretty hyped up on pain killers I think so I did say to her that It was
cool. But now I'm fine... It is not cool" Your voice begins to pick up volume as you get
angrier as your thoughts continue.
"Calm down there. Don't worry about it. I'm sure there's a reason for her to act like
that. She's never done anything that severe before so it is a little confusing. As you
calm down, you notice more and more ponies staring in your direction as you enter the
village. The ponies just stand there motionless while that stare without a sound.
"Uh... Spike?"
"Yea Mystery?"
"Can we pick up the pace? The ponies that are staring at me are getting kinda creepy..."
"Uh sure. Sorry, I didn't know how fast you can walk or run because Twilight said that
you were having trouble walking yesterday, but today you seem fine. Later on we should
have a race. Just to see how fast you can run!" Spike seems to be walking about twice as
fast now thankfully as you pass more and more staring faces. As you continue, you even
notice other types of animals like bunnies or birds seem to stare. Are all animals in
this place trying to creep me out?
As you look around, less buildings seem to be in the area which also means less ponies.
but one building seems to stand out, directly in front of you. "Uh Spike? Is that where
we're headed?"
"Yep! It's the carousel boutique. Home to the most beautiful pony ever! Rarity!" Spike
seems to close his eyes as he must be remembering something about Rarity or the
building. "It's also her shop. She makes designer clothing and sells them to the public!
How awesome is that?!"
Rarity makes clothing? If she could make me some new clothes, that would be just
amazing. That is if she knows how to make human clothes. As you approach the building,
you notice that the shop-home hybrid seems to be some kind of merry-go-round. Great. So
a pony, who makes pony clothing owns a shop that is shaped like a merry go round. Like
that can get weirder.
As you approach the building's front door, Spike quickly runs up and knocks on the door
a few times. After waiting a few seconds a beautiful voice can be heard as the door
slowly opens "Hello? Oh Spikey-Wikey! What a nice surprise, and you must be thwoahahah!
Look at those dirty clothes! What a crime! I must make you a new and fashionable set as soon
as possible!"
Chapter 6 - Rarity's weird behavior
Chapter 6 - Rarity's weird behavior
The pony standing before you has a pure white coat that seems to be neatly trimmed. It
also has a long and wavy dark purple mane and tail with a white horn emerging from the
purple mane. You are slightly shocked by the pony being so forward about your clothing
state, but also lightly relieved that you didn't have to outright ask for new clothes.
"Uh... Hi?" you question.
"Yes, hello darling. Now lets get you inside for measurement quick!" The pony turns and
quickly trots off inside. Spike follows seeming to just blank out his surroundings as he
bumps into the door. You slowly walk into the shop when you see lots of pony shaped
mannequins dressed in colorful attire. "In here!" the pony's voice yells from an
adjacent room. You follow the voice into a room that is a complete mess. Bits of cloth
and fabric litter the floor while pins and half finished clothing lay on desks and over
blank mannequins. The pony notices you and seems to pick up on your horrified expression
"Oh don't mind the mess. Actually it's not even a mess because I know where everything
is. Now can you please sit over there". The unicorn points a hoof over to a small soft
seat over in a corner next to a large mirror.
After sitting yourself down, you look towards the mirror and take a look at yourself.
God my clothes are torn and dirty, I look horrible. Rarity strides elegantly towards you
with a tape measure drooping from around her neck and some red glasses perched upon her
nose. She takes a few looks at you and circles you for a moment. her horn lights up a
baby blue alongside the tape measure when it begins to levitate. Rarity begins to
approach you when she pulls away looking disgusted. "Hmmm, ah! Sorry for not introducing
myself." She takes a few steps back and corrects her posture to a more upright stance "I
am Rarity the beautiful. And you are?"
"I don't really know my name but Twilight calls me Mystery. You ponder for a moment as
Rarity doesn't seem bothered by the fact that you are human "Why aren't you questioning
what I am?".
"Whatever do you mean darling?"
"I mean, like you don't seem fazed by the fact that I'm a human. All the other ponies
have never seen me or my kind before"
"Oh! I saw you when you were in the hospital, I paid you a visit but you were sleeping.
I was also present when you were put there, but there are much more important matters at
hoof. Like your clothes for example" You think for a moment how dirty clothes is more
important than a weird species suddenly appearing in their world but your thoughts are
interrupted. "Anyway, Mystery. I must ask if you can remove your clothes please. I need
to measure you, not your clothes".
After removing your shirt, you realize that you aren't wearing any underwear beneath
your shorts, so you decide to keep them on. Rarity raises an eyebrow and gestures to
your shorts with her hoof. "Uh... I'm not wearing any underwear" you bow your head in
shame at the comment.
"Yes? And?"
"Well if I take my shorts off, I'll... I'll be naked" You feel insanely stupid to be
having this conversation with a pony as the unicorn doesn't seem to understand.
"There's no problem with that. We ponies only ever wear clothes for fancy occasions or
to appear fancy. Now if you'd please" She once again gestures a hoof to you shorts.
Well, it looks like I have no choice. You look at Rarity one last time when you think
that ponies won't know a humans anatomy. Oh boy, is she in for a nasty surprise. You
grab both sides of your shorts and in one quick motion, remove your shorts. You try to
pull this off quick enough to cover your privates so nobody can see them. Luckily, this
is the case.
"Phew" you let out. You look at Rarity to signify that you are ready to be measured.
"You're not going to move those are you?"
"Nope!" You say, pleased of the awkwardness you just avoided.
"Okay, fine. Just sit still for a moment" Rarity levitates the measuring tape and begins
to wrap it around your chest, neck, wrist and other parts. The measuring takes for what
seems like an hour before she steps away. "Mystery?"
"Wha-uh-yea?" you quickly spout.
"What do you want the clothes to look like?" You ponder for a moment as you recall all
types of clothing before just going with whatever.
"Uh, A hoodie, T-shirt and some jeans I guess"
"Hmmm, okay and what are those exactly?" Rarity levitates a clipboard and pencil in
front of her as you assume she will draw the clothes.
"Oh yea, well jeans begin at the pelvis and go down to the bottom of my heel. They are
usually pretty baggy, but tight enough to fit my leg in and an arm easily. Oh and they
are also made of denim" as you speak you point to the parts of your body so Rarity can
understand what goes where. "Do you have denim here?"
"Yes actually, Blue or black?"
"Uh, is blue okay?"
"Of course! Now what's a T-shirt?"
"Oh, Its just a slightly baggy cloth kind of, uh, that starts at my neck and goes down to slightly
overlap the jeans, usually a couple of inches over. It also follows from the neck over
the shoulders and can stop at either the middle of the forearm or by someone's wrists.
And its usually made of a kind of soft fabric" You worry about what kind of image Rarity
is drawing as you may be explaining this really bad.
"Okay... Do you want the wrist size, or the forearm size?"
"Short sleeve please" Rarity looks down onto her drawing and jots down something else
before looking back up at you.
"And what is a... uh, hoodie?" She raises her voice's pitch as if to question if the
word was correct. The gesture came across as slightly funny as you let out a small
chuckle. "What? Did I say it wrong?"
"No no. It's fine. Anyway a hoodie is like a T-shirt, but is open on the front, kinda
left to dangle, and it always goes to the wrists. It also has a kind of hood on the back
of the neck to reach over the head, but it usually droops over the back of the hoodie
itself. It's also usually a thicker material than the T-shirt but still soft. Oh and it
usually has a zip on the front that goes from the bottom all the way to the neck to seal
the front if you want to. Oh and is it okay if you make me some underwear?"
"Yes sure, what are those like?"
"Well they are pretty much like the shorts here, but uses alot softer material"
Rarity jots a few more things down then looks up at you through her glasses. "Is that
anything like what you had in mind?" She floats the board around in your direction, and
to your surprise the clothes you explained are quite like how you imagined.
"Wow yea, that's pretty much how I imagined it. It's also the type of clothing you can
have on for a few weeks and it won't get dirty haha"
"Why ever would you wear clothes for a few weeks?"
"Because uh... I guess it's a privacy thing and keeps me warm? Seeing although I don't
have any fur, it can get pretty cold"
"Yes, I have noticed you lack any form of fur. Anyway, I have a few more questions on
these clothes"
"Yes?"
"How many do you want? and what colors would you like?"
"Erm, just two sets would be fine, and I don't mind on the colors. Thank you so much for
this, you are so kind"
"Oh it's nothing really darling" Rarity states as she trots off into another room. You
take this chance to quickly slip on your clothes and become relaxed again. Just as you
let out a relieved sigh, Rarity re-enters the room levitating a huge load of fabric and
tools before setting everything down into a large pile on a desk "Okay well, do you need
anything else?"
"Well, I actually didn't come for clothes, I came here to meet you and to get to know
Twilight's friends!" You smile and try to show a warm smile.
"Ah okay!" Rarity walks over near a chair near you and takes a seat. "So ever since I
was a small filly, I always had a passion for fashion, I made dresses and clothing for
all types of ponies. Eventually I developed some good skill as I got older, and because
of that, I decided to make a business out of it and make this shop here! The carousel
boutique! Now what about you darling?"
"Well I actually don't remember anything about my past, I know a few things about humans
in general, but I have no idea about my past. I just remember waking up in a dark place
with no recollection of where I was or even who I was. After wondering around for a
while, I find myself being hunted down. For this..." You reach your hand into your
scuffed pocket and reach around the orb. You pull out the orb and raise it in front of
your face. Rarity notices the the orb and remains silent and motionless. "Uh Rarity?"
You get no response as Rarity seems completely oblivious to everything around her. You
move the orb slightly to the left as Rarity's gaze follows effortlessly. You shift the
orb to the right as Rarity follows it once again. You put the orb back into your pocket
and look back up at Rarity.
"Yes?" Rarity questions.
"Wha? Did you not just see the orb?"
"You have the orb on you?! Please I must see it!". Confused, you take the orb back out
of your pocket and show Rarity once more. Her eyes once again lock on to the orb and
don't move. You move the orb to draw a circular motion in the air as you notice Rarity's
eyes follow.
"Weird" you mumble. You put the orb back into your pocket and once again look back
towards the white unicorn. "You didn't just see that did you?"
"See what?"
"I just showed you the orb!"
"No you didn't, I'm still waiting to see it". You quickly draw the orb again and move it
about. The same results follow. You put the orb away again and quickly question Rarity.
"I'm showing you the orb, is this some kind of prank?"
"Not at all! Well it doesn't look like you will be showing it to me. How unfortunate" Rarity
turns her head away as she stands. "Well it's best I start working on your clothes, I
wouldn't want to keep you waiting!" Rarity trots off into another room when Spike comes
bursting through the front door carrying what seems like eight or nine rolls of
different types of fabric.
"I got the things you wanted Rarity!" Spike calls out almost dropping a few rolls. I
wondered where Spike got off to. He must have run some errands for Rarity. Rarity comes
back into the main room as she levitates the fabric into the room she just came from,
presumably the production room.
"Aww thank you! My big strong Spikey-Wikey!" Rarity gives Spike a small smooch on the
cheek as she returns to her production room. Spike just sits there for a few moments as
the tip of his tail spins a few times in excitement. As you giggle slightly at spikes
exaggerated gestures, he comes to his senses and starts blushing of embarrassment before
speaking.
"Come on, let's go and let Rarity work in peace, we will be back before the end of the
day, don't worry". Spike grabs your leg and tries to pull you towards the door, but
seeing the size and strength you have compared to the tiny reptile, he doesn't even
manage to slide you off your chair. However you follow him none the less. Once you are
out the door, Spike questions you unexpectedly. "So what do you want to do?"
"Uh, I haven't a clue. What do you suggest?"
"Well I think we should get you a job, you know, for some bits to buy your own house or
get your own things"
"Oh okay... uh... Don't you think ponies won't hire me because I'm, well, human?"
"Oh yea, I forgot about that" Spike taps his nose a few times before continuing "Perhaps
we could try and get ponies to know you better" Spike looks around a few more seconds
before shooting his head up in realization. "I know! We should go to Sugarcube Corner!"
You raise an eyebrow at the name he just stated "Sugarcube Corner?"
"Yea Mr and Mrs cake work there alongside Pinkie Pie! They sell muffins, cakes and other
sweets there that they make! I think Pinkie and you will make great friends! She's so
amazing and funny too! Come on, Follow me!"
"Okay then, whatever you say" you say sarcastically trying to be funny. Spike begins to
walk in another direction but slowly picks up the pace as you begin follow. Spike looks
over to you and looks at your legs.
"How come you walk about as fast as me yet you have massively long legs?"
"I'm not walking as fast as I can I think. My legs are still pretty achy from being in
hospital so long. Here I'll try to walk normally" You stand up straight and pose
yourself for a presumed normal walk as you begin to take long strides. The steps at
first feel too large for walking speed but as you begin to take more steps, the spacing
between each step starts to feel more and more normal. As you progress onward, you
notice Spike next to you, fully running to try and keep up with you.
"Darn, this race later will be completely unfair haha" Spike huffs a few times as he
seems to be struggling to keep up with you. Spike points forward as you stop to take a
look. "Ah, Sugarcube Corner!". As you look over to the shop you become shocked almost
instantly.
"That's a shop? It looks like a gingerbread house!" Spike chuckles at your surprise as
you carry on until you reach a very delicious looking door. "Mmmmm. Looks tasty!" you
exclaim.
"Yea wait until you get a taste of the food. Anyway knock on the door!" You look down at
Spike and back up at the door. You start to approach the door when your belly grumbles.
You look back at Spike when you both begin to laugh uncontrollably. You laughter is
instantly cut by the tasty looking door slamming open and almost hitting you in the
face. You peer in to look through the doorway to see an empty counter and a few shelves
stocked with sweets and cakes.
