April, 20, 2025- eventual day of apocalypse

It was a stormy day in equestria. Windows rattled and shook while little fillys and colts hid under their blankets waiting for the storm to pass.
However this did not stop the experimental research group 935 from experimenting and messing with dark and mysterious forces.
Not only was this group completely secret even to celestia herself but was also entirely led by none other than princess twilight sparkle.
Twilight was often fascinated by these dark secrets and often went a little too far in her quest for more and more knowledge.

In the past group 935 have been responsible for creating weapons for the massive and horrific war against the gryphon-changeling union.
these weapons were capable of causing strange destructive power, which they naturally called wonder weapons.
They also found a new element that measured 115 on the periodic table of elements they scientifically named ununpentium.

This element was an icy blue color and seemed to constantly radiate a strange form of radiation that caused anypony nearby to get very ill and loose control of their body every once in a while until they die of a violent explosion to the brain.
Twilight knew she had to test this out on a living subject, but she also knew she would get into a great deal of trouble.

So she had her special forces squad kidnap a prisoner changeling.

She then administered the injection of element 115. She theorized that direct contact to the bloodstream would increase the effects.

As the changeling was administered the syringe it started to writhe and scream in pain as the element took over.

Twilight couldn't help but smile as she did love to see a creature of any kind in pain.

The mare had really started to loose it after touching a strange stone that was brought in to be studied.

The changeling had now finished screaming and started to growl.

It's eyes turned orange and it's flesh had started to rapidly decay. It wasn't before long when the creatures forehead started to bulge as if there was something on the other side trying to break free.

It was then where twilight figured out what was going on. "Hit the deck." She screamed but it was already too late.

The changelings head blew apart in an explosion of brains, puss, and whatever else happen to be in the incredibly gory mess.

The unlucky members of 935 that where in the testing chamber when it happened were spending their time frantically cleaning themselves off while the ones who had opened their mouths in astonishment had to spit the goo out and constantly wash their mouths out.

Twilight showed no sympathy as she wrote down what she had witnessed.

So it was true, she thought. Our equine body structure cannot sustain the element 115 as it turns whoever is infected into a monster or zombie of some kind.

After thinking a bit she remembered what she saw at the dig site where they found the ununpentium.

They found it in a room full of engravings that must have been from a long extinct race.

One of the carvings pictured a strange creature with four legs but only standing on two of them and it was standing beside what looked to be possibly celestia's mother or an even older princess.

"that's it!" she exclaims out loud. She realized that these creatures had the perfect body structure to maintain the element 115 while lasting longer.

Also if they lived on an different planet celestia would happily fund twilight's plan of world domination because celestia would be more worried about the safety of her own people.

So over the next year of the Great War, twilight successfully got the permission and funding from celestia, and built a teleporter.

She had her team decode and translate the writing from the ancient artifacts until she found the universe and the planet that they were on.

"Listen every pony," she announced. "We have to travel to this universe and locate an object that is relatively close to this planet to build a facility on. Most likely this planet has a moon."

All of the special operations and scientist ponies nodded their heads as they knew it would further their research as well as help the solar empire with the war.

Twilight then sent some scouts that were fitted with experimental deep space suits to the biggest closest orbiting thing to this new planet.

They returned a few hours later. "Twilight", said the leader, "it is true, there is a moon, but it appears there is already a moon base there and looks like it's been abandoned."

After confirming it herself she returned and set a schedule for making repairs and additions to the abandoned moon base.

She found that it wouldn't take too long as she had acquired new staff when she made an agreement with celestia.

Celestia was surprised when twilight told her what kind of operation she had going on with group 935 and what they did, but understood it was all for the greater good of the war.

Celestia even let twilight be in charge of the new planet when it was captured, as twilight wasn't a princess of any amount of land yet.

It took a total of 5 months to fully repair and make some adjustments to the moon base. The purple mare was thankful that they didn't have to make a moon base from scratch as they would have probably lost the war by then.

She had her team build a room for the artifact that looked like a pyramid that was a bit bigger than the average pony.

When celestia heard that the base had been finished she sent her sister princess Luna to take a look as princess celestia had importing meetings with her head guards as to what to do in the war, which included twilight's brother.

"Hello Luna," twilight said happily, "I hope you enjoy this tour of the moon base."

Twilight showed her everything that she wouldn't mind celestia knowing about. She showed her the teleporter room, the control room, and even the artifact room.

Luna was really interested in all the artifacts and thought they looked nice.

"We would like to know what that large pyramid one is." Luna asked.

"That is the artifact that helped us find this planet." Twilight answered back

WAIT DONT TOUCH IT!! Twilight yelled in warning but it was already to late.

It had already been discovered that whoever touches it would be sent beyond madness. It would even cause them to try and open while screaming that they will control them all.

"Are you alright?" Asked the worried mare as the other princesses and her friends where the only ones she genuinely cared about.

"Yes I am fine." The princess of the night answered back. "In fact I have never felt better."

Twilight wasn't sure as Luna's tone in her voice had changed to what reminded her of nightmare moon.

Without warning Luna shot magic from her horn directly at the artifact. "What the HELL do you think you're doing Luna!" Yelled twilight.

"I'm taking control from hear. And it's nightmare moon."

The artifact had opened and a beam of light shot out. Nightmare moon flew into it and her eyes turned orange, almost red.

The artifact closed and the few members of group 935 that she had brought with her cowered in fear as they heard demonic laughing.

There weren't any speakers, it seemed that they were transmitted directly into their brains.

"Like I said twilight," the demonic voice said, "I'm taking control from here.

It was then when they heard the missile launch timer count down.

"Shit, she's going to launch a ton of 115 at this planet." She told her team.

As they watched the missiles launch they knew this planet would be dead soon, or at least full of the living dead.

While the other ponies watched twilight snuck into the teleporter room leaving them behind.

She then shut off the teleporter so nothing could get back.

"Team," she announced, "nightmare moon has returned and is going to somehow take over the planet we found."

There where worried murmurs in the room as twilight told them.

"Don't worry," she said, the rest of the elements of harmony and I will take care of this. You guys just focus on creating wonder weapons while I'm gone.

The others nodded knowing it was best not to question her judgement.

Later that day she met with her friends.

"Girls I have important news," she said, "nightmare moon has taken control of the planet we where going to capture and I need your help to take it back."

"That sounds dangerous." Fluttershy said. "Not only that," answered twilight, "but the planet will soon be overrun by zombies."

The other ponies looked in disbelief, but they knew that twilight would never lie to them.

"if we wait a while maybe we can find some survivors that will help us stop nightmare moon."

"Hang on there just a minute, said applejack , "yer tellin me that we've gotta trick those aliens so that we can take their planet?"

"We are fighting a war here applejack, it's either us or them."

Her friends nodded. As they knew that sacrifices had to be made in order for their survival.

"We will search and teleport a small group of survivors here in a few months." twilight said. "Until then we must plan what we will do and research more about this planet."

After a few months it was time to teleport the survivors. And had the survivors known what they would help the ponies do, they would rather have died along with the others in the apocalypse.

As you probably guessed this story is kinda based off of call of duty nazi zombies. Some knowledge of the nazi zombie story may be needed if you want to understand well enough, but you don't have to. I have rewritten this and it is much much better than the original. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. And spoiler alert.
